Any chance of schurle from Leverkusen good young striker that fits into fsg plans plus the Sami hypia factor

Schurle plays for Schalke mate

Huntellar plays for schalke, schurrle plays for leverkusen

No he doesn't he plays for Bayer Leverkusen

Would be a dream come true. Very unlikely I suppose, he will cost at least 25 mil but I don't know if we showed a lot of desire to have him maybe he would, he would be our best player {Ed063's Note - Chelsea were quoted a very high figure in the summer}

HI EDS, this i found via other sources and woundered if there is any truth in him coming to liverpool.
Name: Tomer Hemed
Position: Forward
Height: 182 cm.
Weight: 82 kg.
Hometown: Maccabi Haifa
Date of Birth: 02/05/87
Birthplace: Haifa (Israel)
Nationality: Polish passport Israeli
suarezred7 {Ed002's Note - Just speculation right now.}

Hemed admitted in an interview in Israel that There's serious interest from Liverpool... try to find out if you have the time

Seriously this is a guy that rangers nearly signed on a fre transfer 2 years ago before they started to go into money problems lets be honest spanish league isnt that hardest to score goals in

It seens that this guy and the rumours to lfc is hotting up.not much info on him but he has scored 10 goals already. have latched onto this and are reporting that he dreams of playing in epl or la liga. estimated to be valued at 5mill.25 years of age but could he do it in the epl.reminds me a lot of rush,natural goal scorere and poacher.

Ed's do you think that CFC's potential purchase of Falcao has any bearing on the sale of other strikers they have? Or would he be in addition to Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku (although on loan)? I do not see the need for four strikers when the team has Hazard, Oscar and Mata etc as attacking midfielders.

Evo YNWA {Ed002's Note - Falcao no, but if another striker were also bought then it would free someone up. Chelsea wanted two in the summer - at present one is a priority. But again, if the right offer were made for a player wishing to leave then the club has a policy of not standing in their way.}

Rickie Lambert could be on his way to Liverpool in January. Just something i've heard.

To visit his family!

Isn't he a liverpool fan

Huge Liverpool fan. There seems to be something going on behind the scenes at st.marys and that's why he's not getting played.

I can't see this happening, he's an older version of Andy Carroll. Not a BR style player at all.

MarkB

I've heard he's not. Just something I've heard.

Downing to Stoke in January for 6 million looks to be on the cards.

I very much doubt we will be letting players leave in Jan as we need all the players we can get at the moment to cover injures/ suspensions etc and for £6m no way jose id rather keep him as i believe he will come good sooner rather than later.

Which club pays the £6m ...........

Are you suggesting we would only have to pay £6m to get rid of Downing ......... result !!

This deal was close to happening in the Summer but Downing pleaded with Rodgers for a chance to prove himself. Rodgers is sick of Downing arriving late for training and his general tardiness around the training ground. I spoke with Neil Mellor in town after the Reading game on Saturday and he told us.

Bad deal for LFC if this is true, we always sell our players at about 25%-50% market value.

Seems the more ex Liverpool players at Stoke the lower they drop down the ladder...

Given Neil Mellor hasn't turned up at Melwood for over 6 years I doubt he's the best player to be asking.

I hope it happens and we should also throw in some old Adidas kits too sweeten the deal good bye downing u suck

Downing has actually played well this season under rodgers. I couldn't understand kennys constant play of downing without carrol on the pitch on MANY occassions he subbed downing FOR carrol,which was plain DUMB if you ask me. £6 m would really undervalue him,I think he will become a good 1st team player given a chance. We need a poacher or good header to utilise downing better.Suarez is neither.

Downing, Owen, crouch. Whose next Enrique. Hopefully

If there is a god

hi eds are we looking at alen halilovic? his 16 and we are looking for young players and this lad is something else. also aubamyang 23 good goal scorer would be cheap what do you think? {Ed002's Note - Nothing is happening with Halilovic and Liverpool. After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side.}

23 Oct 2012 12:51:28
i know its not liverpool related but Ed2 mate do you really see Chelsea splashing 40-50M on Falcao ot its just paper talk {Ed002's Note - Chelsea's interest in Falcao is serious.}

And how much did they pay for Nando?

There are so many unknowing and clueless people still thinking we can compete on the front of signing worldclass proven goalscorers like Cavani. It seriously does my nut in reading day in and day out "Are we signing Falcao?", etc. You need to start realising we are no longer the force we used to be. Some people just need to educate themselves a little better before they pointlessly spam this forum with the same unrealistic gossip wasting everybody's time. Excuse me for my rant, but it's just getting a bit frustrating that we have a decent little forum going on here with people that know their stuff, and it's filled with spam from people that don't have a clue what they're on about.

Back on topic. Eds, what do you have on Eduardo Vargas and Aleksandr Kokorin? From what I know they fit our bill (young, hard working, threat infront of goal) and are tipped to be the next best thing. I do realise the position Napoli are in at the moment (potential league winners/runners up), and the amount of interest a young prospect like Vargas can generate. The fact he joined Napoli this year may force a high price demand, so that'd maybe be a dead end. Kokorin on the other hand has been at Dynamo Moscow since 2008 and they currently are having a hard time in the league and it looks like they're not going anywhere this season. What is your view on this Ed?

YNWA {Ed002's Note - Kokorin turned down a chance of a move to the EPL in the summer and a winter move seems unlikely. Vargas won't be moving in January. There is no interest known from Liverpool.}

Have to agree with you there. It's so boring reading all the questions about the really top players. We've very little chance of attracting any in our current state.
KBL

I agree with you, but is it not up to the eds to allow the posts through ? don't they have to accept them ? {Ed002's Note - Posts can be deleted if an editor thinks fit.}

, you come on here making a post about how "so many unknowing and clueless people" are on here wasting other people time by filling the forum with posts about strikers that were never going to sign, then you go and do exactly what you're giving out about with a question about Eduardo Vargas, not only that but you actually list the reasons in your post why he won't be signing. Pot meet Kettle.

Gman82

While I don't disagree that those targets are unrealistic for the reasons you mentioned... don't rant on about it and then mention Edu Vargas, who is also unrealistic, for the reasons you also mentioned... pot kettle black

I see the point about unrealistic but let's put the blame where it firmly belongs. Our tightwad owners. For the right money we could sign a top player. They don't want to spend. That why we are going to end up with a mess of a stadium like St. James Park and I will still get wet when it rains! {Ed002's Note - These are the tightwad owners who picked up the tab for the £50M loss the year the bought the club? Or are these the tightwad owners who paid for the £50M or so loss last season? They couldn't be the tightwad owners who funded more than £30M net spending on players and fees this summer could they?}

Nice to see a post with correct spelling and grammar for once!

Couldn't agree more with Ed002's response above! Yes, our owners are such tightwads; it would be so much better to be like Leeds or Portsmouth!

You're all wet even when it's not raining, you muppet!

-Red Socks

I think we cannot compete in the transfer market because we are not the toy of a multi billionaire owner. Until we are, we are going to have to be content with 10 - 15 million pound signings.
Pompey red

Sorry im not buying that Ed yes thay are tightwad........ They got the club for a bargain pimped us out to any sponsor who will have us and have recouped alot of the money that way ie.20m a year with warrior.... they knew they were buying in to a mess and would take strong fincial backing to get us out which they dont have..... {Ed002's Note - You are obviously with those who want the owners out regardless of the massive amounts of money they have been putting in to the club. There is no answer other than continue the direct action - abusing and threatening the owners and Mrs Henry is working really, really well and certtainly keeping them away from the games. Keep it up and eventually you could see the club sold and then you could get some nice institutional owners. From my perspective it is becoming a hopeless situation with so many ungrateful fans wanting the owners out. The owners don't deserve the fans they have and perhaps now is the time to start thinking about moving on.}

I have never abused Mrs henry and dropping stuff like that in your arguement just shows how weak it actually is {Ed001's Note - or how weak your mind is that you can't comprehend the point being made? I know which it seems like to me. You have not got a clue, you want us to be like Portsmouth and spend beyond our means because you are too childish to have the patience to wait for success.}

Eds, a lot has been said regarding Enrique and Rodger's not really rating him. Is it a possibility he'll leave in January?

How do you rate him Ed?

Dan {Ed002's Note - I have have no idea who has been telling you this but I am aware that Enrique was injured and has only recently become available for selection again. Perhaps Rodgers was lying when he was speaking of Enrique at a Press Conference “He’s a terrific player, Jose, and has got great qualities. We hope we can get him back sooner rather than later.” Perhaps he will let him leave in January, there seems to be no issues with cover right now. However, I do not know of interest in him by other teams at this time. Personally I tried to avoid rating players - no doubt one of the fantasy manager playing Eds will give you an opinion if you want.}

It was one of the eds that had on more than one occassion said that Enrique was surplus hence probably why this guy was asking that question I guess.

I'd merely heard odd bits and pieces, not that I necessarily believed these though. I just wondered if the Eds had heard anything. I myself believe that Enrique has a lot of great qualities and could be a key player if he could play at his best more often.

Dan.

I believe Enrique has many good qualities i.e his strenght and pace, the only thing i think he is lacking is his final pass or cross of the ball when he gets forward, sometimes last season I personally found him dissapointing from that perspective

Well ed was Rodgers lying when he was ripping into Jose an downings attitude the other week in the press conference? He was rambling on about bricklayers or somethin saying the coaches can only do so much but if the foundations aren't right what else can you do? He wasn't exactly shy about laying into them {Ed002's Note - There you go then - clearly Rodgers has no grasp on what he is saying at all.}

I think Enrique & Johnson can play on the left flank together. SWitching leftback & left wing through a the game.

Brendan Rodgers set to make a £15m double swoop for Schalke pair Lewis Holtby & Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Both players' contract expires in the summer and hence will be availible at a bargain price. Holtby is a left-footed, 22-year old attacking midfielder who has been in tremendous form this season, and his father is from Merseyside, although his whole family are blue, not red. Holtby would certainly fit the policy of young, unexpensive talent that FSG & Rodgers are looking to impliment. 29-year old Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is seemingly a player that does not fit this policy, although he would quickly solve our goalscoring problems, he has previously had a great on-the-field relationship with Luis Suarez, when they were together at Ajax, and finally Huntelaar is a player who relies on his fox-in-the-box movement and goalscoring knack rather than his physical presence, power or pace and so he may still have a few more years left in him.

RedKopite {

FYI, Lewis Holtby is a Blue Nose.

I really hope that these 2 players come and hopefully we sign daniel sturridge on loan (view to a permanent)

Completely fabricated post.

If we got these two in January..honestly it would be the greatest bit of business i've seen in a while! But the chances are very slim.. :(

15£ ?
Seriously ?

Holtby and his dad/grandad are huge everton fans. I really cant see him at liverpool any time soon.

BthekingB

Wasn't carra a blue too?? why wouldn't he come to us? just sayin.......

Wasn't there speculation a few years ago about us looking at Holtby and he flat out refused because he's a massive (and I mean huge) Everton fan?

TSP

And Everton are in for him too I've heard, so the chances of him joining Liverpool i would say are nil.

Not £15m if we can get them both for free next summer.

We'd need to pay the £15 million now,becuase,NEITHER would come to Liverpool as free agents,a club playin CL footy and offering more wages would swoop for them.

Eds,
Liverpool definitely going after striker this Jan transfer.

If our ranking in the table not improve, i cannot see Llorente, Huntelaar or even David Villa even consider to sign with us. Right?

-do u think Gary Hooper is target bcoz he's gud finisher or bcoz Rodgers really rate him?
-Are we still in the market for Leftback?
-Is it possible we sign 2 strikers in Jan? Rodgers still want Sturridge on loan?

thanks eds.

ItsJimmy. {Ed002's Note - I would not want to rule folks out due to midseason table position. Moving from a club in the CL might rule out some players. Hooper would be a target because BR would see him as someone who can play within the system he wants and enhance the squad - but Celtic remain keen on him staying and will try to reflect that in his contract offer. I do not know of any interest in a left back right now. I would doubt that two would be signed unless one is clearly a player for the future or price makes it viable. I have explained the Sturridge situation as it is right now at some length - give the search function a spin.}

I want david via to come and elex sanchez and struddige liverpool all the way but what are we going to do with sanchez {Ed063's Note -Hahahaha}

hi ed002
Will sahin stay with us permanently?
Some reports say that he is gonna stay with us.
pragyan {Ed002's Note - There is no way to tell at this time. He is on loan for a year and there is no provision to buy him in the contract. If at the end of teh season he decides that he no longer wishes to return to Real Madrid, and if Real Madrid wish to sell him, and if Liverpool wish to buy him, and if Real Madrid drop their asking price to a level that Liverpool consider affordable and if a package can be agreed with the player - then perhaps.}

Theres a hell of a lot of if's from the eds lol. I doubt it will happen but we have him for now maybe if we don't get him for the long term others players will come who are just as good.

Red raj {Ed002's Note - That's is how it works - he is a loan player right now who wants to return to Real Madrid. Certain factions at the club were willing to sell him in the summer but the price quoted to Milan was unrealistic as far as they are concerned. If he has a paricularly good season there is a chance, subject to managerial changes, that they may want him back. Otherwise it is as I explained.}

Sahin will sign with liverpool when pigs fly

Ed's unles the owners can assure us a minimum of 55M to spend in January, for me it doesnt matter whether we get Sahin or not. Just him alone is not enough to get us Top 4. I know we dont have that much money but the point is, without such, we are going Nowhere... {Ed002's Note - The owners are not going to make £55M available in January - unless of course the existing team are sold.}

Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Luis Muriel from Udinese he is a Colombian striker aged 21 and will sign for a fee of £16-22 Million depending on goals and games,
LFC MOLE(Tom)

23 Oct 2012 02:01:40
why would we sign an unproven player for 16m we don't have those kinds of signing anymore

Should have taken a chance on then unproven colombian striker Radamel Falcao for 7 million at the time.

He just signed a 5 year deal with Udinese on Sep

Well i just read on Wiki that this guy has signed a 5 year contract in September so i dont think this will happen

Would love him but he signed a new, 5-year deal with Udinese in the summer. He will be a very big player in the future though.

Falcao.. If only!

Haha some 1s been playing fifa13

He also just became good on fifa 13. Coincidence?

Hi Ed's
I'm sure this us on a lot of people's mind...
With Xabi Alonso clearly stating he's leaving real Madrid in the summer do u think there might be a small bid made for him by Liverpool in January? I'm going to be shocked if we don't bring him back! {Ed001's Note - no idea, I would love it to happen, I know he still loves the club, but I just can't see us getting anywhere near his current wages. It would require him taking a huge pay cut.}

I think he'd take the pay cut, but we honestly don't need him! Give the chances to our current midfield of Lucas/Allen Gerrard and Sahin?

Yes, but depth is the thing. No guarantee Sahin will be at club next season.

Would free Gerrard to play upfront if required (although BR doesn't seem to want to use him in that role).

Be awesome to have him and Torres back, but doesn't fit FSG/BR profile for new young talent...

Love it happen, but doesn't seem likely.

Alonso has made his fortune already and liverpool is a lot cheaper than Madrid to live well. aklfc

I just can't see it. Even though my heart says yes, my head says no. Sahin, Allen, Shelvey are the future for me. Alonso would only stunt the development of one of them (depending on whether or not we get Sahin permanently).

Ash

Alonso coming back to us would make sense, he would be free, I doubt if he loves the club/city as much as he says he does that he would look for ridiculous wages bearing in my his age, also I expect Nuri to return to Madrid and fill the role Xabi will vacate in the summer, I believe he would be of enormous help to the likes of Jonjo, Suso, Raheem in their development, while also I would hope there will be a place for him on the coaching staff when his playing days are over, his knowledge of the game and what he has achieved in it, would be invaluable to LFC going forward.
Limerick Red {Ed002's Note - Alonso has a contract thru June 2014.}

Well people do do the funniest things for love!!!

Falcao to Chelsea
And Torres to return to anfield with the no9 shirt now available. Mark my words
Ynwa_j96_Reds4eva

I have them marked.

When will people get it that Torres will NOT come back to Liverpool. He left on a sour note and remember, He also left because he wanted to be at a Successful club, at the moment Liverpool are far from being successful. It could take years before we're able to compete plus we're not even a Champions League team anymore :( DAPred

Ok, 2 out of 10. Despite the exit there is a part of me that hopes we get the Prodigal Son back.

Nostalgists like you are a little bit embarrassing to be honest

cozinoz {Ed063's Note - Nail. Hammer. Head.}

And torres NOT to return to anfield with the number 9 shirt available!!!!!

Why would torres come back to us ? we are not in cl spot and rebuilding now so people need to shake off this torres saga and get over with it he is chavski player

FT days are most likely numbered at Chelski, but there won't be no return to us. Wouldnt surprise me to see some kind of cash plus player deal for Falco?
Lee73

Falcao is a A.Madrid player, bound for Chavski, Torres is a Chavski player bound for .............., el nino could possibly be returning home to his boyhood club.....stranger things have happened, HE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO LFC

Torres back to Espana !! Nearly19

If you guys hve read torres's interviews of late, he has been praising us Liverpool FC fans and also the club, like some people have said stranger things have happened. And I for one would love to see torres Suarez Gerrard sterling Suso sahin and Allen link up.
