Hey Ed’s, just wondering are we still looking at Ricardo Pereira and Faouzi Ghoulam or has the emergence of Gomez and TAA and purchase of Robertson halted our interest.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no interest in either Hutch.}

Hi Eds, I've seen claims today that Barcelona are offering us first refusal on Mascherano in January, and that we're considering it (along with a bid for one Romain Saiss of Wolves) . Am I safe in assuming that this is nonsense?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Mascherano is available but I have no idea about any "first refusal" or what that means. The player is of interest to others and Barcelona has already held discussions with one side. If Liverpool are keen and the player wants it then it can certainly happen. It makes zero sense to me. I am not aware of any approach for Romain Saiss by Liverpool or any other side at this time.}

Ed002, and I apologize for the stupid question in advance lol. I agree makes no sense, but do you see an old mashyourankle as an improvement on Matip/ Klavan?
haha why not alonso back out of retirement to replace Hendo :P

Chris from Canada eh.

{Ed002's Note - No, I think it would be a dumb move Chris.}

First refusal on a player who is past it. Wow they really know how to do a Christmas present don’t they 🙄.

Thanks ED, agreed.

The story comes from a fluff piece that originated from Messi quoted in Diario Gol a couple of weeks back. where he allegedly suggested JM might come back to LFC in a surprise move.

Given the fact that he went on Strike at Liverpool to force a move, why the hell would he want to come back. He is getting on a bit now, granted he far outshines anyone we have in that position now.

First refusal, great.

Hope we are the first to refuse him 👍.

Any truth in the rumours that we've enquired about a Jan loan for Draxler?

If so, perhaps as a short term replacement for Coutinho?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained previously Draxler is seen as an option. However, there are difficulties with the player right now as he is saying he wants to stay and would like a return to Germany if he leaves. PSG would sell in January and would be open to a loan with a commitment to buy - whether they would be open to just a loan is another matter.}

Cheers for the reply ed. Would be surprised if he did come in but couldn't be a bad signing

Ta.

I will be fuming if this happens. Just concentrate on signing some defensive minded players first. Keep adding players like Draxler to the already stacked forward line we have got whilst persisting with the shambles of a defense, and Klopp may well be in charge of the most lopsided and imbalanced LFC squad in history!

Indian Buzzer, we have Couts leaving mate and we need to replace him. Draxler would be a good move imo. But if he only wants to play in Germany as ed has said then it sounds like a non starter anyway.

So is it just a loan only we are interested in ed without a commitment to buy? Or not sure at this stage.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, I explained what I know.}

Not what we need at all, i understand he's a good player, but we have kieta coming in and that defense needs sorting. the owners should put a ban on signing attacking talent till that table football defense and that subbuteo goalkeeper gets adressed.
