Liverpool have made a bid for Walcott. The fee is unknown. He has had offers from aboard. Don't underestimate the fan factor

LFC93

Ahhhh. .

TSP

Yeah Robbie Keane was a fan. I'm a fan, doesn't mean he's right for the club. We've enough players like that or better

Offers from "aboard"... the HMS B*ll*ks of course!

This is a Twitter rumour nothing else

How can anyone make a bid if the fee is unknown?

Straight off twitter that lad

Will we play him centrally, where he wants to play? Doubtful.

Will we offer him even more than Arsenal have when the owners are actively to cut the wagebill? Doubtful.

Will he leave a club that always plays in the CL, for one that has failed to qualify even for EL through the league for the past three seasons? Hardly.

This rumour doesn't really stand up to any form of scrutiny.

My reply: Liverpool have made a bid for Walcott. The fee is unknown. He has had offers from aboard. Don't OVERESTIMATE the fan factor. {Ed002's Note - I was told yesterday that there is no offer from Liverpool for Walcott.}

Hey eds,
do u think liverpool could come in for benteke?
I know alot of people have laughed at him and criticize him, but to be fair hes playing well and scoring goals. hes not too slow, good in the air, incredibly strong and hes only 21 and would very cheap. Do u think he would be a decent buy? {Ed001's Note - no and no. He is not ready.}

Very cheap? Villa paid £7m for him and he's still unproven.

Any truth to the rumor that Demosey is available in January or can he not move in January? I know he hasn't had the best from for Spurs but for £4 mil I think it'd be a good bit if business.

~Fresh

He cannot move until July

Only allowed tor egister for two clubs in one Season, Dempsey was at Fulham and registered there, before moving to Tottenham. So that's two clubs, we can't sign him this season and won't sign him next season or ever i predict.

Even if we could sign him, what makes it likely he'll reproduce his Fulham form for us when he can't for Spurs.

Why sign a player not good enough for a team we are aiming to challenge?

What a daft rumour.

This ship has sailed. Sorry

Is fourfour2 a good source? If so there is a story about Lucas Leiva saying how much Leandro Damiao could do for our team,

They are saying that he has 'touted' about him?

http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/113964/default.aspx

Probably just bulls**t but just wondering what I going on there - thanks in advance and great job with what you are already doing :))

Leandro Damiao has come out today that he's only interested in moving to Chelsea to link up with Oscar so Liverpool are best lowering their sights.

Finally someone who can spell his name right.

With rumours flying about that a former Liverpool star will return all the attention seems to be focused on Fernando Torres' return to Anfield but the player most likely to return after his disappointing first spell at the club is Ryan Babel. He is thought to be in talks with Brendan Rodgers over a possible move as Rodgers see's him as a player that would fit his style and philosophy perfectly. Ryan is thought to be hopeful of a return to Liverpool after he was quoted saying 'Liverpool is a place that compares to no other city on the planet.' 25 year old Babel has had a very good run of form for his current club, Ajax but the move to Liverpool is understood to be 'unmissable' by the Dutchman. Brendan Rodgers is unable to promise the 25 year old a permanent starting XI place due to the current form of 16 year old Raheem Sterling but the place will be up for contention according to Rodgers if the 25 year old was willing to put pen to paper for a second time with the 5 time European Champions.

Haha sterling- 16, seriously

Please posters, we know he is 17 , the poster made a mistake. nobody needs you pointing that out 20 times over.
derryred

But Babel wasn't good enough. for all i liked the lad, he wasn't consistent and could ever break out of his rut to make it to the next level.

If we sign Babel, then we won't go for Theo, as both take up the same space, either wide or as a striker.

Bull Crap babel has never been a good player, if this does happen I seriously think we have lost all ambition as a club!

Babel failed to perform for us and everywhere he's been since.

So the sense in signing him is what?

Thought not, another ill thought out 'rumour'.

Hi Eds....what's the situation with Walcott and us?? What's the chances of us signing him out of 10, if you can??
Also the changes of us signing llorente?? Probably slim but would be nice too hear your thoughts
Thanks
Kabir {Ed002's Note - From my perspective I still expect a deal to be agreed and a new contract signed by Walcott. However, in January, if no deal has been agreed he will be able to talk with the likes of Juventus who have apparently shown tentative interest. There remains the thought that Liverpool would be interested in taking him, although they cannot speak to him without the club agreeing before the end of the season. Arsenal can easily stonewall a move in January so I don't know if Walcott will even be available for a move then - nor what other options he would have if he were. Deciding to leave Arsenal may not enhance his career, particularly if he wants to stay in England.

Fernando Llorente is still interesting Juventus, Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal. Chelsea dropped their interest and I suspect that other clubs would be scared off by a transfer fee of more than £25M still being asked by Athletic Bilbao. There is a very good chance that he will move next year although there are talks continuing with Juventus over a January move, with the interest from Arsenal, Spurs and now Atletico Madrid ramping up. I would suspect that he will end up at one of these clubs but at a much lesser fee. Arsenal still maintain a very strong interest in Adrian Lopez as well. His alternative will be to sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down.}

Around nine out of ten chance of signing Walcott

Walcott is not interested in a move to Liverpool as he wants to remain in London, so i don't know where you get your 9 out of 10 from.

"Walcott is not interested in a move to Liverpool as he wants to remain in London, so i don't know where you get your 9 out of 10 from."

I dont know where you got that rubbish from that Walcott wants to remain in London. Has he said so??. Give us fans proof he has so??. Please back up your statements or dont even bother. Infact come to think of it, i even question whether you are a LFC fan or a fan of a team in London ala Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal as it is only viable that such hypocritical fans browse "The Best Team In the World"s rumour page to spout nonsense...

Robinson and Flanagan expected to go out on loan in January. Middlesboro interested in Robinson.

Why our full back back up situation isn't great

Not saying you're info is right or wrong but why make a relatively weak squad even weaker?

I can understand this, considering rodger's preference to second choice fullbacks is downing and hendo. Why werent robbo and flanno playing the last night?

Red Lee

Why pick the last remaining meat off the bones of our skeletal squad. Kelly injured, Johnson always suffers from injuries, plus he can't play on both sides at once.

Hello Eds,

Could you please answer a couple of questions for me.

(a) What is the latest situation with regards to Fernando Llorente & Iker Muniain. Are either likely to be sold in January or next Summer.

(b) Any idea on when Fabio Borini will return from injury.

Thanks in advance. {Ed002's Note - (a) There is nothing new really. Fernando Llorente is still interesting Juventus, Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal. Chelsea dropped their interest and I suspect that other clubs would be scared off by a transfer fee of more than £25M still being asked by Athletic Bilbao for a January move. There is a very good chance that he will move next year although there are talks continuing with Juventus over a January move, with the interest from Arsenal, Spurs and now Atletico Madrid ramping up. I would suspect that he will end up at one of these clubs but at a much lesser fee. Arsenal still maintain a very strong interest in Adrian Lopez as well. His alternative will be to sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down. Again, Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao last January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level (20M euros might be an acceptable figure) I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Lyon, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Palermo interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons. (b) Sometime in January.}

HI Eds, I asked earlier about Jozy Altidore and Tim Matavz, one more question, any interest in Thorgan Hazard? {Ed002's Note - No. Hazard only moved clubs this summer and is out on loan for the season.}

23 Nov 2012 13:18:23
any interest in marco reus or gotze? {Ed052's Note - no}

Reus - £30m+
Gotze - £50m+

Why would either of them want to join Liverpool? In fact they would be mad to join Liverpool when they already a part of an excellent Dortmund side.

Wow. Head out the clouds yet mate? Stop playing FIFA and thinking that its so easy.

mozzilfc

Reus looks a real top player {Ed002's Note - But he won't be moving to Liverpool in January.}

Hi Eds,

Any idea what Arsenal have planned for Chamakh? Will they look to sell him in January? Would they be open to loaning him out for the remainder of the season?

Cheers,
ForzaRed {Ed002's Note - I would expect that will be looking to sell him to raise funds for a new striker. I don't know if a loan would be considered.}

His is worst than Carroll and Rodgers shipped him out so i doubt Cham will e coming, he will be sold back to France.

Do you watch football? the guy is absolute garbage.
max

Ha chamakh he is like the worst striker in the league

Of course I don't want him at LFC, just asking the Eds what's happening with him. Read the post. [FR]

Do we have interest in Cameron Howieson from Burnley?

He's only 17 and thus played a few games and i think they were last season, so if he's doing well in the youth/reserve league for Burnley, no doubt he'd have the attention of our scouts soon enough.

He's played more matches for New Zealand than he has for Burnley hasn't he? Also he's a bit like Suso in the positions he can play, whether out wide forward or attacking through the midfield. I'll keep an eye out for him.

Hi eds, could you tell me whether we have any interest in Tim Matavz or Jozy Altidore? Jozy Altidore seems like a viable option to me....have you guys jeste anything? {Ed002's Note - Oddly Fiorentina has shown an interest in both and several clubs have also been looking - but not Liverpool at this time. There may be more to report on Altidore after next weekend.}

Is Altidore the one who was on loan at hull a few years ago?
