Ed002 seems you was correct about us perhaps watching bellarabi, reports in Italy saying inter and others have stepped back due to "formidable" competition from Liverpool.

Ive read he has a low release clause, but that won't make a difference as we paid double firminos release clause.

23 Mar 2016 19:42:11
Wasn't Firminos release clause only applicable to other German clubs?

23 Mar 2016 20:02:17
That's correct DecG.

I'm sure ed002 said that Firmino had a *buyout* clause, not a release clause.

Ed2 Bild reporting we've scouted Kolasinac several times this season along with Chelsea and Roma. Any truth matey.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - My notes say:

Previously of interest to Manchester United and Spurs, Roma and Manchester City see Schalke's Sead Kolasinac as a target who both Chelsea and Liverpool have had watched.}

23 Mar 2016 18:03:15
Thanks ed would mean Morenos off, as i see were linked with Hector and others.

Agree1 Disagree11

{Ed002's Note - Enrique will be leaving and I suspect Moreno may well be allowed to leave if a buyer can be found. But with Gomez returning from injury the solution is already at the club.}

23 Mar 2016 15:00:14
Eds, has the situation changed with Coutinho regarding leaving if we don't get champions league? Looks out of reach from a league perspective this year. It would be sad to see him go. I know Barcelona previously had interest, not sure that they need him. It would not be an easy task to replace the influence he has on the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - The club are aware of what Coutinho told three international team mates and are also aware that both Porto and Bayern Munich watched Coutinho on May 10 last year. It is also correct that Barcelona have had Coutinho watched on at least a couple of occasions this season but with Arda Turan playing in a similar position and Alen Halilovic returning from loan in the summer I am not sure the he will be a priority for them. Right now I would expect him to stay but if Liverpool do look to another first pick attacking midfield player then space needs to be found in the squad.}

23 Mar 2016 17:08:14
Would you take Gotze over him ed?

Agree1 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - Where does Goetze come in to any of this?}

23 Mar 2016 19:22:38
He doesnt, was just after your opinion mate that's all. A what if i suppose.

Agree4 Disagree9

23 Mar 2016 20:30:00
Thanks, Ed2! Much appreciated. I prefer Coutinho over Gotze LFC. I think the difference in our team when Coutinho is on form is immense.

23 Mar 2016 20:49:09
Ed, say hypothetically Porto were interested would they really be able to afford him?

I didn't think Portuguese clubs had that sort of money.

{Ed002's Note - Yes they could.}

coutinho can join texeira in china and hope a offer like 60mil comes from china. will bite the hand off and use 20 mil to buy new reus, new aubameyangs, kagawas, hummelses.

I'd be very disappointed losing Coutinho to a team like Porto. Its hard to keep players from that small group of clubs that realistically can compete at the very top level but to lose him to a club that really does little more than make up numbers when it comes to the CL. wouldn't be happy.

leekuanyew,

is there no pleasing you, Couthino is one of our best players if not our best player, but you would sell him for a player who might take a season to get used to the prem a bit like firmino, also the players you mentioned might not do well in the prem just because they are good in germany does not mean they will be good in the prem just look at the likes of other big names who have come to the prem and could not cut it here, or took a season to get used to it, so it would mean we would struggle for another season, couths is settled and playing really well, plus imagine where we would be in the league if you took out his goals and assists this season, beside him and firmino there's no goals coming from any were else in the team but hey it won't matter as long as we get a big named player, what your not seeing is the big teams that are looking at couthino which means to them he is a big name player where you think he is not a big name player, look at leicester they don't have any big name players but they are at the top of the prem and look like they will win it, man city with all their big names won't win the prem so just because you want players who have reached the top in a different country does not mean they will make it big here or help us win anything,

Ed2 Bild reporting BVB interest in taking Gotze back this year. So it looks like us and them want him. Which one he prefers is upto him. Although his €12m per year salary will be too much for Dortmund i suspect, unless he takes a wage drop.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich offered Goetze as part of a deal for Gundogan but nothing came of it. They have also spoken to his agent about a couple of issues with his constant bitching and whining. An enquiry from Juventus led to them being told that they would have to agree to pay at least his €37M release clause before there could be any discussions - and the expectation is that Juventus will agree to do that and will open discussions with a move being mooted for the summer of 2016. Whether all of this will prompt others to look at him or not, is not clear right now.}

23 Mar 2016 14:56:52
He is not what we need, wouldn't play him in front of Coutinho or Firmino.

Agree9 Disagree9

23 Mar 2016 15:50:58
Could we see Benteke sold and firminho as a st and gotze in the number 10.

Agree0 Disagree9

{Ed002's Note - The only declared interest in Goetze at this time remains Dortmund and Juventus.}

23 Mar 2016 16:31:54
It would seem that Klopp is preferring 1 up and 3 in behind. We have Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, Ibe, Milner, Ings and the fringe players all fighting for those spots. I'd be shocked if we were in for MG, unless as Ed stated, we move people on.

If anything we need a solid option in a holding mid/ defensive mid role. Somebody to push Can, Henderson and Lucas.

Agree2 Disagree8

23 Mar 2016 21:55:10
Why oh why would we buy another number 10. Please take that money (that large amount of money I may add) and go buy a quality winger and/ or goalkeeper. Positions we actually need huge improvements in.

Hi ed002. I read something about our scouts being impressed by American Bobby wood. While I find it difficult to believe, could you please tell me who he has attracted the interest of?

Believable0 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Union Berlin's Hawaiian Bobby Wood is wanted in the summer by Hamburg with Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen and St. Pauli all being impressed enough to send scouts on more than one occasion to watch him this season.}

23 Mar 2016 13:31:23
Thank you Ed.

Agree2 Disagree5

25 Mar 2016 06:54:42
No disrespect meant at all, but he's from Hawaii, not Hawaiian. Hawaiian is a race, not a nationality, and represents the identity of a race and culture that remains a minority even in it's own land. Again, no disrespect, just helping to spread knowledge as a Native Hawaiian myself.

On a side note. probably a fabricated story about an American based in Germany, not fancied by his German national team manager, and then linked to a club in an English-speaking country with a German manager. Would love it to be true, but I don't believe in miracles. just Leicester winning the league apparently. Apologies for the tangent. Up the reds.

{Ed002's Note - Thank you for the correction.}

Hi eds

Do you still expect Balotelli to stay at Milan when his loan finishes? Its just I've read he os struggling and is not in there starting plans and dropped from Italy squad. The report went on to say he has been his usual lazy self

We really don't want him back here!

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - no.}

23 Mar 2016 09:19:20
Surely it's the Italians posturing in order to get a further reduction. It can't really be anything else. Think about it, Ed002 said some time ago that AC Milan has a very cheap option to buy Balotelli at the end of the loan period and can then make a very tidy and quick profit by selling him on. My understanding is that there is interest in him from China and from Turkey. So those are his options outside staying with us. What sensible business turns down a quick guaranteed profit?

Agree3 Disagree7

23 Mar 2016 10:59:23
If there is so much interest from elsewhere Reynard then Milan wouldn't be able to negotiate a Lower price as I'm sure Liverpool would be aware of this ( unless it's a secret on these pages that turkey and China are interested) . If they're not interested at the current price on offer then he will likely stay I would think ( unless they sell even cheaper elsewhere)

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - The option to buy has now expired but Liverpool will be open to a reasonable offer.}

23 Mar 2016 12:45:21
With the option having expired perhaps AC are hoping we cannot be bothered to have him back on a risk that he might not leave.
