Hi Eds, you mentioned there may be upcoming interest in firminio.
Do you know where it might come from?
Would you sell him or do you see him as a key player?
Do you see us getting anywhere near the money we paid out for him?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained in the past there is a chance Manchester City may look to him.}

We wouldn't sell him at a loss that's for sure .

We don't need him.

We can't get rid of Firminio surely. really not liking the sound of things at the moment, mane coming in, talk of coutinho going now firminio.

crazy supporters. let him go etc. Sell all the players that are performing lately to our rivals. great idea!

We would not sell him period. Firmino is a key player for JK. They can be interested to buy but we will not be interested to sell.

Swap for De Bruyne plus 30 million.

I hope we wouldn't lose Firmino and Coutinho. They are two of our best players. Losing 1 or the other is bearable. Both would be a kick in the teeth.

If we do though, an interchangeable front 3 of Origi, Sturridge and Mane would still be pretty lethal with Origi coming in from the left, Mane from the right, and Sturridge just floating into space.

Plenty of pace there anyway!

Take the over inflated transfer fee that City will propose and let the manager spend it on his own players.

I reckon Coutinho needs that position to flourish and his inconsistent performances reflect that.

No room for two luxury players so similar.

As much as I like him, there's always the cushion that Coutinho will stay, but regardless, one or the other will go either way.

We can only try Ron lol.

Can't remember many players having a good a first season as firmino for us, I'd be gutted if he left. Was our best player at times last year and surely has more to offer. Remember he went nearly half a season without scoring and got what 12? Could get 20 next season, irreplaceable goals.

23 Jun 2016 23:17:56
No way I can't see firmino leaving. I thought towards the end of season he was beginning to find his feet so to say. I can't see us selling klopp seems to like him.

coutinho was inconsistent long before firmino arrived. firmino going to be 10 times the player coutinho will ever be. don't know what your watching? wanna change your name to "chris Crosby" or even " stevie seaforth"

Agreed Fencey.

I don't think he'll go anywhere, but the rumour alone is worrying enough.

'scouse john L8' your off your head mate. Firminio is fantastic granted but 10 x better than Coutinho, i don't think so. both are still learning, both will end up world class the way they're going. can't talk like that about Coutinho in my opinion, he's been brilliant for us and hsould he stay he will continue to be brilliant. talking like that is utterly stupid.

I don't think the fans could take losing both and there could be more fsg people wanted the owners out.

Hold your horses guys! Just because our player is linked with a move, doesn't mean it will happen. We are linked with tons of players but not all of them will happen. Besides, it is good that other clubs appreciate the quality of our players. I'd be surprised if our top performers are not in any way involved in any rumours.

Coutinho and Firmino could be the core of our attack for years to come and have already shown they can complement each other's play. 2+2=5 sometimes and we shouldn't be willing to sell either, two of our best players last season.

There will be interest in any of our players that have potential.

Coutinho is best when there's movement in front of him his link up with suarez was fantastic and that's what i feel is the reason his perfomances drop on times.

Yes he can go missing in big games but he's also capable of winning those games in 1 moment of brazilian magic.
Most of the top sides would love to have him give him a break he's quality.

You say years to come but we should be proactive now and look for there replacements. We might convince coutinho to give us one more year but if we don't make top 4, he will gone and we don't want yo be caught with are pants down again.

Players are transient employees and people who don't already support this club have bigger agendas ie playing for the likes of barca. If you think that Coutinho layed there at night as a kid dreaming of playing and ending his career at Liverpool then you need to give your head a wobble, but that's ok if he helps us get top 4, we can all move on. I don't want him to leave but the reality is this. We don't get top 4 he's gone, but if we do he's more than likely going to have a stormer of a season and make a move to Barcelona etc even more likely so where probably going to lose him next season whatever. But if we plan it right now, we will be fine.

Even look at buying someone to replace him now and leave him on loan until next season (might knock a few quid off and looks after our club in the meantime)

I see Ojo, and Zielinski (assuming we get him) as his likely successors if he leaves in another year or two.

25 Jun 2016 00:55:04
I agree, Ojo is one for the future. just needs to be given more of a chance, which I believe he'll get.

What's the latest on joe Allen leaving? Bookies make him favourite to join Rodgers at Celtic? Any news eds?

{Ed002's Note - Swansea approached Liverpool in respect of taking Joe Allen on loan in January - it was rebuffed but they might return in the summer with a view to buying him. Away from the Premier League Sevilla and Lille have both spoken with his agent regarding potential opportunities for the player.

As far as I am aware the LFC players

We should hold on to him. He is solid enough and is great squad player. Good pressing and passing.

Okay he's not that exciting but would we get better for the money we are likely to get for him?
