Hey ed002 since barce have signed sanchez is there any chance of villa coming available cause I don't see messi villa pedro and sanchez in the same team cause all want first team football at barca just asking thanks {Ed009's Note - I am not sure that ed002 is around at the minute, but I would imagine that, just with every other team, the four will be rotated. Consider that three players cannot play three positions every match. In my opinion if anyone was to be culled it would be Pedro. Villa will not be moving to Liverpool regardless.}

hi eds what do you think about the joe cole situation will he stay or be sold.thanks.dhlfc. {Ed009's Note - I would imagine that he is available for sale, should an appropriate bid come in. We are not so desperate to sell him though as we are with someone such as Jovanovic, as we have not made him available on a free.}

According to footie Online, a bid for Cissokho to Lyon is imminent.

The speculation concerning Liverpool s search for a left back is going to come to a head early next week, as we understand that Kenny Dalglish is going to table an official offer for Lyon s 23 year old Aly Cissokho.

Just yesterday we reported that Lyon had publicly denied any contact with Liverpool concerning Cissokho, but this is about to change as Dalglish resolves to get in a quality left back to strengthen his squad.

This move by Liverpool will also outmaneuver other potential suitors of Cissokho, including Arsenal as Arsene Wenger has been keeping very close tabs on the French international. Italian Serie A side are also rumoured to be interested in the player.

If Dalglish s approach for Cissokho is rebuffed by Lyon, it is likely that Liverpool will return to looking at Newcastle United s Jose Enrique who they also have been linked to since the turn of the year.

Ed, does it worry u anyway that we are losing 3-0 to teams like Hull? Plus does it concern u that we have conceded 9 goals in 3 games against 'average' teams? Thanks for ur opinion {Ed009's Note - Of course it is far from ideal, but this is pre-season and we must always remember that. Tottenham lost to a Kaiser Chiefs with their full strength side out. Not one of the players that was on the field in the first half except Carra and Kelly would be in our first team.}

Ed i know the likes of Carroll , Henderson , Downing and Adam have a good record but do you think when we start getting back into the routine of Champions League football that we will be buying bigger name players like Aguero , Lavezzi , Benzema , Mata etc. ? Cheers Ed would love to hear your response {Ed009's Note - I would agree that once we regain our status in the top four the owners, with the added revenue that brings, will be willing to bankroll the purchase of a few flair players which can take the team to the next level or really challenging from the title. Of course that doesn't mean that any of the specific players mentioned will sign.}

23 Jul 2011 21:17:33
Ed any interest in Aiden McGeady ? Would truly love if we could have an Irish player at Anfield and not a bad player either. Any interest Ed's ? Chance out of 10 ?
Cheers,
IrishRed. {Ed009's Note - There were links two or three months ago and there may have been interest too, but Spartak value him at far too high a sum and he doesn't have much of an end product, despite his pace and trickery. He is a decent player but I don't know of any interest at all.}

alrite ed you heard anythink about mata's situation, with man city now likely to sign Sergio Aguero, do ya reckon if mata come up for sale arsenal would be front runners?would we have a chance.and ive heard a few teams are in for Park Chu-Young, are liverpool 1 of them

ste liverpool {Ed002's Note - There certainly has been varying degrees of interest from Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City,Arsenal and Spurs in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. I thought Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and offer player exchange for David Villa if they signed Alexis Sanchez - although this seems less likely at present. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected and Arsenal appear to be preparing an offer now. It would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool, Chelsea or even Manchester United could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer. Lille and Schalke are pushing hardest for PCY - but perhaps Liverpool could make a bid.}

1.Aquilani looks to go on loan again to Fiorentina with option to buy. Some of his wages lfc willing to pay to smooth the transfer.
2.Meireles may not be sold this transfer window. Unless offer arrive in the region 13-15m.
3.Lfc looking to sell Insua this 2 weeks. If no club interested, we might not sign new leftback.
4.Spearing is backup for Lucas for DMF position. If Spearo go on loan, lfc might sign another midfielder.
5. Another winger/wingback will be sign if KD decided to use 352 formation.

Insua to roma deal collapse, jova got potential buyers, degen will be released, still try to find club for poulsen, ngog no potential buyers since safc deal collapse...

why would liver try and sell insua? he did well on loan and were going to need a back up LB unless we use aurelio but seems expensive (wages) for back up {Ed002's Note - It seems Liver are actually OK with him moving on after allowing him to talk with Roma - although any deal could not be included.}

ED : Now Roma have signed Heinze as there left back does that mean Insua is going to be with us at the start of the season or, are there other clubs interested in him. {Ed002's Note - With Heinze and Angel at Roma it means he won't be there - but the club will probably continue to try and sell him.}

I suspect that efforts will continue to sell him - if not, he stays.}

Eds, if this Aquilani deal to Fiorentina is pretty much a done deal, as you've been stating the last couple of days, then why did he play the first 45 minutes today? Seems if it was a done deal, the player would be protected... {Ed002's Note - What do you want me to say?I could of course have been lying to you all about this possible transfer? And lying about today's meeting in Monaco with Franco Zavaglia. And lying about their lunch in Monte Carlo's Cafe de Paris. Probably best to forget I mentioned it at all.}

23 Jul 2011 16:07:22

Anything in the Cairney rumours? I heard from various areas that today was a friendly just down to the Gulasci loan, but others saying it was also an opportunity to open negotiations to sign Cairney?

Aqua has looked good for 45 mins again today but overall disappointing performance.Cole , Robinson, and Coady also done o.k. but thats it in my eyes.
Expect a lot of changes at HT so maybe better to come.

Agger is leaving. He is on verge of move to Bayern Munich.

23 Jul 2011 14:32:09
Ed : When Aquilani goes out on loan who will be paying his wages do you know ? {Ed002's Note - Discussions are ongoing between Liverpool and Franco Zavaglia who understands Fiorentina's position. Regardless, the majority will be met by Fiorentina. But as I said there may be a 30k euro per week shortfall where Aquilani will have to take the hit. An option to sweeten the deal if for Liverpool to contribute toward this. Luch today was had in the Cafe de Paris and I suspect we will know more early next week. Certainly Fiorentina and Liverpool both want the deal resolved next week sometime.}

Eds,

Thanks for all of the hard work you guys (and girls) put into the website. I know I really appreciate it, and obviously many other people do as well.

I had one quick question. Some people mention Pereira and Godin from Uruguay as potential targets, but what about Coates? He is has a lot of potential and he has already made his way into the international team. Thanks so much {Ed002's Note - Juventus have expressed an interest but I am pretty sure there is nothing from Liverpool right now.}

23 Jul 2011 14:14:05
Hi EDs,
With the pool linked with every left back under the sun and a few centre halves - who are realistic targets for us?
Looking at a number of sites including this one it seems we are looking to fill 3 positions, including a striker.
Perhaps Enrique LB, Dann CB seem most likely with Sturridge an outside bet for Striker?

My main query is do the Eds feel Henderson will play on the right wing for us with Downing the only real winger put on the left or will Henderson be played in the centre with us moving for another real winger for the right and if so who do the Eds think would suit this role best and is most likely to happen?

5uarezTimes {Ed002's Note - I agree that DAnn may be an option, LB I am not so sure but maybe still Enrique. I would say practically no chance of Sturridge - perhaps Park Chu-Young but Schalke and Lille are both pressing hard. I suspect Henderson will play on the right and I suspect wing backs to be played regularly - an effective 3-5-2}

23 Jul 2011 13:40:59
Heard liverpool are look at promising italian left back Giovanni foirentini from palermo.

23 Jul 2011 13:32:56
I've heard that Diego Godin and Alvaro Pereira will sign soon. What do you think ed? {Ed009's Note - I am not sure at all. It is certainly unlikely we will sign both players.}

23 Jul 2011 13:28:25
hey ed002 do you realistically think we will make any more signings? {Ed002's Note - Sure - the transfer window is not 50% through yet.}

23 Jul 2011 12:46:14
Fiorentina and Liverpool are close to agreeing a fee for Aquilani, do you have any ideas of what the fee is around ed? great work on the site {Ed009's Note - it will be around 10 million.}

porto just bought a left back sandro i think so could this mean periera spelling could be on his way?

23 Jul 2011 12:20:59
Hi ED's and Readers if we sell Aquilani and Meireles who do you reckon well sign to replace them?

DanTheRedMan {Ed002's Note - Adam and Henderson have come in already and I could see an argument saying that Meireles was signed to replace Aquilani when he went on loan last year. Much will depend on who goes on loan and who is sold. Rumours persist about Gerrard's fitness and the difficulties he is having with his love truncheon. For me Sissoko from Toulouse would provide for a great buy and he is (a) available; (b) a target of Damien Comolli. It is also worth considering that perhaps the issue with Meireles can be resolved and perhaps the club could wait until January and re-assess the situation then.}

23 Jul 2011 11:48:45
Hey Ed, hardly a rumour, but what's the status with Stevie G?
Its getting eerie of sorts.......

Also on the winger note, you think even with Downing our team has gotten very narrow, unless we purchase another winger??

Finally, sorry for yet another question, but would ou rate our chances on
Baines(wishful), Perreira, Jansen, Cissokho and Enrique please??
Thanks a lot
vrk_1990 {Ed009's Note - I very much doubt Gerrard's career is over, but there are complications. He is not recovering as soon as was expected due to having to play through injuries too many times in the past. Kenny's preference, if you look at his previous tenure, is to play one out and out winger and a more tucked in wide midfielder. I presume this could well be Downing and, on the other side, Henderson. Baines is a no go, Cissokho and Enrique are players we have previously held very real interest and both are viable if we make an acceptable bid. Jansen is also viable monetarily, but he is a very attacking left back and Kenny prioritises defensive solidity in that position. I also don't know of any interest. Pereira would be an expensive signing; an outside chance.}

23 Jul 2011 10:43:06
hi eds post in rumours please it might have been posted already....liverpool interested in Angban Bekanty Victorien...who is he and is it true? {Ed009's Note - The President of Stade d'Abidjan has confirmed that we are in talks with the club over the player, who is an exciting young striker, who starred at the Under-17 Worlds Cup. Contrary to some reports though, I don't believe we have bid yet.}

23 Jul 2011 10:50:08
Morning Eds, i was just wondering whether Marco Bueno will be having a trial with us or is it just rubbish that the media have made up. {Ed009's Note - I do believe he will have a short trial will us as soon as he is fit enough to do so, with the view of making a permanent transfer.}

23 Jul 2011 10:14:14
Have just heard that Porto have signed Alex Sandro from Santos to fill the hole at left back left by the departure of Alvaro Pereira to Liverpool next week.

I'm a fan of David Bentley on facebook, and last night a video was posted on his fan page with transfer updates involving Jagielka to Arsenal rejected etc. One of the updates was that we were preparing a bid of £22m for Jesus Navas I would love to see this happen, but what do you think are the chances? Cheer Ed. {Ed002's Note - The chances of Navas moving to Liverpool are around zero.}

Lyon are hoping to cash in on Liverpool target Aly Cissokho and have told the Merseysiders to contact them if they are interested.

The 23-year old is reportedly a Liverpool target who have been scouting the footballing world to fill the vacant left back position.

Paul Konchesky is one of the latest casualties who has departed from Anfield after a miserable season with the Reds. The former Fulham man was brought in by former Kop boss Roy Hodgson but the full back failed to convince the Liverpool faithful and has just been sold to Championship club Leicester City.

Liverpool tried to sign Arsenal's Gael Clichy but the Frenchman opted for a move to the Eastlands after suggesting City are more equipped to win silverware.

Liverpool have also been linked with Everton's Leighton Baines but the Toffees are unlikely to sell their star defender to their local rivals. Newcastle's Luis Enrique has also been muted with a move to Anfield but the Magpies boss Alan Pardew refuses to sell the Spaniard despite the left back only have a year to run on his current deal.

Lyon appear to be receptive to an offer for Cissokho with Bernard Lacombe the official advisor to president Jean-Michel Aulas asking the Premiership club to make an offer for the player

"If Liverpool is attracted in Cissokho, they have to come to us, " he told L'Equipe.

Liverpool are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Maxi Rodriguez, Alberto Aquilani, Raul Meireles and Joe Cole.

The four players could combine to line up in a quite competent midfield, but none of them are first choice at Anfield, and Kenny Dalglish is willing to sell any of them if a decent bid comes in.

Each receives high wages that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group would be keen to cut from the bill - with Rodriguez, Cole and wantaway Belgian winger Milan Jovanovic on £100,000 per week according to the Guardian.

thanks, js

Have some news which has come from a good friend of mine who is a Spurs fan. His 'source' a a close friend of Jonathan Woodgate (well, that what he says).
He has heard that Redknapp and Co have accepted that Modric will be leaving but they are completely unwilling to sell to Chelsea, whatever the offer.
The rumour is that, Spurs are interested in both Cole and Miereles, and have approched Liverpool with a view to negotiating some sort of deal, which will see Modric on his way to us
Personally, cannot see Modric wanting to come, as one of his main reasons in wanting to move is around playing in the champions league.....but you never know (Thought I doubt it very much.....and, before some of you idiots start accusing me of being some sort of numpty....this is a rumours page, and I am just passing on a 'rumour' I have heard).

PS - great site but can I just ask.... Those individuals who sit at home slating everything they read, telling people they are not true fans etc... (you know who you are)...before you respond, bring something constructive to the table... Don't just have a go telling people how wrong they are.... Tell us what you have heard or know

I know one of the girls who work in the marketing team at Wigan, and she has told me that there are 4 clubs interested in N'Zogbia, 3 in England and one overseas.

Only two formal offers have been made to date, from Villa and Sunderland (both around £10m) but both Liverpool and PSG have been asked to be kept up to date on any developments.

According to her, Wigan are hoping for £15m, but the rumour in the club is that any offer over £12.5m will be accepted.

Personally, I know we have purchased a lot of midfielders, but I think he offers the flexibility in a player which we need - Can play anywhere down the left and across the midfield, plus just behind the striker(s).

Also, she has heard that Wigan have a genuine interest in bringing Spearing and Wilson into the club on a seasons loan - Wilson will happen but apparantly Liverpool are more interested in selling Spearing but want c£5m, which Wigan are not prepared to pay.

Just a general info..
Barca are doing such a good job ..
Sell Kricic for 11M buy him after 2 years for 12m, he may get better they get him cheap..if not they have money any ways.
Similarly for Affelay and Corel.. they are putting buy back cluases for 2 years ..at almost same amt :)..
In mean time from sale they get money now to invest in better players...

Regarding our midfield, the plan all along was to loan out Spearing and Shelvey - and keep Aqua and Cole. Kenny wants to give the latter two another chance but Aqua's agent is playing silly buggers. {Ed002's Note - Aquilani does not want to be at Liverpool - whay are you having such a problem grasping this?}

23 Jul 2011 01:44:45
Have we shown any interest in gary cahill? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

The president of Stade d'Abidjan has confirmed Liverpool are interested in teenage striker Angban Bekanty Victorien.

The 16-year-old Ivory Coast prodigy was a sensation in the Under-17 World Cup alongside Coulibaly Souleymane and Diarrassouba Drissa, who is reportedly set for a trial with Stoke City.

Various reports in Ivory Coast claim Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool have agreed a fee with Stade d'Abidjan for the services of the striker.

But the club's president, Abi Koffi Richmond, says nothing has been agreed with him yet and other sides are also interested in the youngster.

He told : "Liverpool has not agreed anything with me yet, I have nothing written.

"They are a great club and respected club, I do not need to tell them how to do their work.

"I have contact from them through some agents but they are not the only club interested in the boy."

Ed,

I dont understand why we cant have the likes of Aquilani, Joe Cole and Rodriguez cant be in the squad.....

Even the likes of Park, Anderson, Owen and Hargreaves/Carrick are usually not in the team or squad for ManU.....

So why all the shout that we need to offload all of them? We can certainly use them during the season.....

LiverBird {Ed009's Note - Firstly, United have a far higher budget for wages than we do. Furthermore they have a fantastic overall team balance. Each squad player is on a sustainable wage for their status in the team, and are happy with where they are. Finally, their first team is at a level where they can operate a one fringe player out, one player in policy. We have to strengthen the squad significantly. Naturally that results in more outgoings.}

Atletico Madrid are preparing an offer in the reigon if 15mil for Raul Meireles. The deal is dependent on Aguero joining Man City. Ath Madrid want to loan Adebayor also. Liverpool to bid for Gary Cahill once Jovanovic, meireles/Aquilani, Poulson have left. Freeing up around £200,000 per week in wages.

A bid has been made for Honda I believe. Heard it from a guy at work but dont see anything on any transfer rumour sites. Any truth in it eds? {Ed009's Note - I have not heard this, but we could well have rekindled the interest we had before. As far as I know the player still wants to leave, but prefers Spain or Italy. Perhaps.}

ed the likes of ince, amoo, eccleston are they going to be sold or loaned out again?DORSET RED {Ed009's Note - I believe that the time has come for all three of those players to make a move. Ince may well make a loan move to Blackpool. Eccleston will either move on loan or, if an offer comes in, permanently. It is certainly time for Amoo to move on, he has stagnated in his time here, and will not play for the first team.}

Hey eds. Super site. Have been checkin in all summer. Just saw on SSN that liverpool have entered talks to sign Ivorian 16 year old striker Angban Bekanty Victorien from Stade d'Abidjan. Don't know much about him, as he seemed to be overshadowed by Coulibaly Souleymane, who was banging in goals at the u17 world cup for Ivory coast, (who spurs signed by the way) Any truth in the rumours??
Keep up the good work and thanks for all the info {Ed002's Note - I really don't know - they are just kids you realise.}
