There are now also some reports in Italy (the Italian publication Calciomercatoweb) that LFC approached Ancelotti's representatives. I have to say it all doesn't sound very concrete and in any case, even if true, doesn't sound short term thing. I will believe it when I see it.

Reds just following up on what Macca said. It is now being reported on other web sites (maybe they got it from this web site) that Liverpool have opened talks with Carlo Ancelotti. It basically says that it is in the beginning of negations and even tho Liverpool don't have champs league FSG believe that a deal can still be struck. Even though Liverpool fans would still prefer Klopp FSG are wanting to go with pedigree and have a manager who has won it all.

I am 99.9 % sure that other sites steal information from this site . Whenever ed002 mentions a new player that hasn't been discussed rumors suddenly seem to crop up. Case in point being Hernandes of Milam

Reet is right, it is way more likely other media outlets use this website for their scoops and stories rather than the other way around.

Thanks for that Tiger, very informative. If it is to be believed, then I feel a lot less aggrieved towards the owners over their treatment of Gerrard. It does shift the blame for this particular incident firmly onto Rodgers though.

{Ed002's Note - The owners don't come in to it.}

The only thing the Independent Newspaper Story convinces me of is that Ayre is and has been endlessly incompetent. I don't care what anyone says, the proof is there for all to see.

We overpay for mediocrity and miss out on targets because of his inability to carry a deal through fast enough. Now we hear that he turns up late to a meeting with Stevie G even though what he was supposed to place on the table for SG was the expressed wish of his bosses. How does he hold on to his job whilst others are sacrificed?

Zed, shop posting crap! The owners have nothing to do with SG leaving. The eds have repeated heretha a huge part of the blame goes to BR.

Fair enough! Ayre & BR it is then!

I wonder why Ayre was late? Maybe his Harley got a puncture?

Calciomercatoweb running an "exclusive" story today that Liverpool are inte negotiations with Ancelotti's entourage. Make of that what you will. Don't know whether they are a reliable source or not.

Massive respect to all the Ed's, Macca, plus benny baller. Love you guys. Can't say that in my head without hearing the voice of Sloth from the Goonies.

This is for ed01 since maccas comments it's all went a bit cazy so now that he says it not kloop who would u like it to be?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that only really leaves Ancelotti mate.}

22 Sep 2015 13:23:29
ED001 - If there is any truth to any of this and another manager does come in, who it ever it maybe.where does that leave O'Driscoll and Gary Mcallister?

Will FSG offer the role as a Coaches role, and a Coaches role only with no entourage, and O'Driscoll / Mcallister to assist?

Or do you think they would buckle, if the new manager insisted on brining in his own staff, and they really wanted that particular person

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they would bring in a head coach who would work with what is in place, if they can. I believe that is very possible.}

22 Sep 2015 13:39:04
I would be over the moon if he came. True manager, motivator, leader, a player`s coach and most of all, a true and honest gentleman. Won`t hold my breathe tho.

I hope that is the case, if this hypothetical situation turns to reality

I think I may pop into the bookies after work

Is he viable and woukd FSG be happy to pay his wages Ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what it has to do with FSG, the club would be responsible for his wages.

As for being viable, I am not entirely convinced Ancelotti would want the job at this juncture - as he decided to take a year off to address a medical issue and to work on a side project - so the timing may not suit him.}

Ed002

Do you know if Ancelotti would be interested in a move to us please and was he looked at by us before?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - There is a third party who wanted to steer Carlo Ancelotti toward Manchester this past summer - either side. However Ancelotti was not that keen and quickly decided to take a year off to address a medical issue and to work on a side project he is currently involved with. He has made no secret of his desire to return to the English Premier League at some point and and he does, I understand, have an eye on job that will, sooner or later, be available.}

Love reading your cryptic answers Ed,you should write a crime thriller with lots red-herrings and cliff-hangers!

Available sooner or later? Well, that could be Man Utd, City, Liverpool or even England manager - though guessing not Chelsea or Arsenal!

I'm assuming this is the Man City hot seat. Pellegrini will not keep his job unless they do really well in all comps. Cannot discount Chelsea either if they fail to challenge this season

I'm going to say that Ed002 is referring to Spurs, London club, that's in London, that's not in rainy Manchester or is it in cloudy as hell Liverpool, and a good distance from Birmingham.

So I'm going with Spurs, based solely on those facts.

Sunderland surely?

Don't think it will be City. Pellegrini could yet stay another year if they win the EPL, which already looks pretty likely (crazy, I know)

Agree1 Disagree2

22 Sep 2015 20:39:33
Sooner or later could include Arsenal (has been talk before of Wenger retiring) or Chelsea (Mourinho never stays anywhere that long) or City or Utd or us.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Sep 2015 02:25:04
Ancelotti will never go back to Chelsea. I can see United making the top 4 and LVG staying on for another final year. If City actually do sack Pellegrini, then their first choice is Guardiola.

I reckon Wenger wants to try and win one more EPL before he retires. That's not looking likely at the moment.
