Benteke is still not officially signed up.after everyone saying he'd be officially presented on Wednesday. Is there a problem Eds? Should we be worried, after what happened last year with Loic Remy? What's the hold-up?

{Ed001's Note - don't worry mate.}

TV reporting that the medical is completed, Benteke will be in Liverpool today and a "slight administrative problem" is all that's holding up the transfer.

Excited about the new season and looking forward to Benteke leading the line for us.

Not quite User013, apparently Ian Ayre mistyped his first name on the contract as Christina, so naturally questions are being asked!

Any truth in these Alonso rumours eds

I'm seriously doubting it for obvious reasons but we live in hope lol

Thanks guys

{Ed002's Note - I don't know anything about any Alonso.}

22 Jul 2015 13:01:42
Ok thanks Ed, what about Digne apparently we may be interested in signing him as cover for Moreno.

Cheers guys

I would love this to be true, but am 99% certain it is not.

Alonso possesses that extremely rare ability to be a DM and DLP all rolled into one, which would be ideal to sit in front of our defence.

However, our opportunity to sign him was last year when he went to Munich. If we'd shown serious interest, I reckon he would've come back to us, and in doing so may very well have helped us stay in the top 4.

However, we didn't (show interest) and he didn't (come to us), which is a shame.

To cap it all, the 'rumour' linking him to us comes from the Metro.

Nuff said.

Don't worry ed, I'll fill you in. He was purchased by Rafa for Liverpools midfield and went on to score the equalising penalty in the famous European Cup final. After a spell with Real Madrid he join B Munich.
Otherwise we are talking about a French Scicilian racing driver who was with Ferrari and Maclaren.

Sorry mate, technically, he scored from a rebound from his saved penalty :)

Question for Ed2 if around(I'll settle for anyone answering really!)
Ed2 you mentioned last week that the situation with Pedro would become somewhat clearer this week. Is there anything you'd be kind enough to share?
I can't really believe the links with Liverpool to be true unless Liverpool got some special dispensation from the FA that they'll pay for all this and were allowed field a team of 15 players each game next season but curiosity is getting he better of me I'm afraid.

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - It is clear in that Pedro is available at the right price. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool at all at this time.}

22 Jul 2015 16:21:15
Ha I'm fixing it funny that all our fans are going on like we have a squad that is so big it may not fit into the britannia on the opening day. Pedro would be a massive signing and would improve massively on the "squad" we have. The reality is borini,lambert, ballo, Allen, Enrique, and a few more I won't mention (to avoid arguement) are nowhere near good enough and will move on or won't feature. So if you look at the squad compared to arsenal, Chelsea, city and United. I believe at least 2 more players are needed to challenge for the top 4. I mean people are like Pedro? What about markovic? Ha that's like United fans saying bastian? What about Micheal? But they don't say that they just go out and improve on the squad with top players.
Don't get me wrong I'm really excited by the buys so far I believe they're all going to improve the team and I think we will be better this season for that. but the reality is no one from last year's top 4 is going to be dropping out unless we get 2 more top players and don't worry about all the deadwood. when they see how far Down the pecking order they go they will move on. With regards challenging for the title? 4 more TOP players. See some people compare our 1st 11 to Chelsea there a while ago and it promoted me to set up an account because, my goodness me is there a reality check needed:)
Looking forward to the new season tho I believe the top 5 will be well ahead of spurs and Southampton but I honestly see us as 5th falling a bit short. Thanks eds great site.

I live in LA and was at the Barcelona v Galaxy game last night. Pedro is/was sensational and was the most dynamic player on the pitch, and for Barca. All I could think was how he would dramatically improve any squad he played on, including LFC. Agreed with the above, that regardless of players available for certain positions already, a player like Pedro is not always readily available and when he is, you should be truing to bring him in. I don't know what he's worth, but if Sterling is worth 49 million, i don't know what it would take to get Pedro

Hi eds,
I heard today that there is a few clubs interested in taking Rossiter on loan including Norwich, Middlesbrough and Leicester. Any truth at all in this do you know?
Imo he needs a season on loan to play regular first team football.
Thanks

Natural

{Ed001's Note - there are a few clubs interested in taking him on loan, Boro are defo one, Norwich I was told had asked about Gomez, they might have turned their attention to Rossiter, no idea about Leicester though.}

22 Jul 2015 08:39:09
Both clubs would be good for them. Good football playing sides at a high level.

I think it's about time we actually started looking after our youngsters properly. Our loans have been a mess in the past and usually only happened when we don't want the player anymore.

Thanks ed, didn't know about the Gomez one. Actually would like him to stay as we need the cover for the full back positions and I hear he's really impressing.
