Sometimes I don't know why Ed bothers. this is taken from his comprehensive summary only a few scrolls below.

"As Real Madrid prepare for a potential transfer ban they have spoken with Monaco regarding Kylian Mbappé (who cannot sign a professional contract until December 2016) about an agreement to possibly recruit him in 2017. A number of clubs have been watching him including Barcelona, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen, Rennes, Marseille and PSG, but next January might be a better time for a move. Arsenal are talking to Monaco about options. "

Dan like most of the reader is expressing his disappointment in people who blatantly decide not to use the search function before asking questions. Silly stuff.

No, he, like others on here, is a time waster.

Stop asking questions which have already been answered. Start using the search function.

Evening Eds

Ed002, if you don't mind giving your opinion please mate on our Midfielders, who do you see as being first choice and who is in most danger of being moved on? Were well stacked in there plus the arrival pf Grujic in the summer so surely some have to leave?

Believable0 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there are any plans for Lucas to leave right now and with Henderson, Can, Lucas, Milner, Stewart, Allen, Brannagan, Rossiter and Chrivella all playing in an area (where only two would typically start) and Grujic arriving I am not sure it will be the priority area where the club will look to make changes in the summer. I do however think that Allen may well leave. If Lucas were also to leave and a decision made not to promote any of the youngsters then perhaps the club would look to this as more of a priority.}

23 Feb 2016 08:03:24
I would argue that Stewart has already been promoted into the reserve of Lucas.

Agree6 Disagree11

23 Feb 2016 11:53:17
Its is looking like Lucas might move on to China, not 100% nailed on by any means.
Allen will definitely leave in the summer.
The on will be on wide pacey players and a new keeper. Potenially centre defensive.

Eds is anyone looking at firmino with his performances lately? ? He's always looking bright even when we are horrific.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - His agent believes PSG are starting to consider him as an option to others they are looking at.}

22 Feb 2016 21:54:09
Ed 02 informed us that Firmino cost €41m rising to €50m I don't see PSG or anyone else paying that and we wouldn't sell him at a loss.

The French website quoted 70 million Euro. I never believe these numbers mind.

22 Feb 2016 22:21:58
He's just giving us info we wouldn't get anywhere else, just because PSG may or may not be interested it doesn't mean he's off, they won't pay what it would take to sign him.

Ed will you please start banning people like acered? I realize you guys wanna keep an opinionated web page but people that feel the need to insult ruin the page for the rest of us.

22 Feb 2016 22:59:27
We paid a vast amount of money for him.
If PSG want him, they will need to make it worth our while.
I don't see any problem here.

Agree16 Disagree1

22 Feb 2016 23:04:18
I don't think he'll leave obviously given the fact that he just came last summer but seeing his agent is gauging interest in him is kinda depressing as we're not the same powerhouse we were I mean when PSG becomes a more interesting option ahead of us just shows how much we've fallen anyways thanks ed.

Agree3 Disagree11

{Ed002's Note - It is simply how the game works.}

22 Feb 2016 23:29:13
PSG also wanted Arnautovic as well. Whatever happened to that? if PSG want him which I doubt, they will have to pay up.

Agree1 Disagree11

{Ed002's Note - This is why there is a reluctance to tell stuff to you sometimes. You don't really grasp how any of this works.}

23 Feb 2016 07:27:35
Although he is playing well, if PSG offer more then we paid for him and he wants to go, I don't see the issue? He hardly irreplaceable. I wouldn't choose to sell, but like or not PSG almost guarentee titles and CL football so you'd understand his interest in going there.

Agree4 Disagree7

23 Feb 2016 08:17:48
No ones irreplaceable but you're also ignoring the costs of finding another replacement, signing on/ agents fees, relocation costs, competing on new wage terms, risk of them not fitting/ gelling etc. etc.

Selling Suarez and buying Benteke and Balo (probably similar financial position or even worse in the end) and selling Sterling and buying Llalana and Markovic didn't help us either.

Not to memtion what it says about Klopps Long term strategy to sell a recent recruit who's just started to really show significant potential.

In short I understand why everyone is constantly happy to sell any player that starts to play well for us because they're not irreplaceable. we've proven its damn hard to replace an in form player with another inform player let alone what signals that sends.

Agree2 Disagree6

23 Feb 2016 10:05:48
Sorry I meant I DON'T understand why many are happy to talk of selling our better players - and Firmino is definitely one who would be first on he team sheet at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree7

23 Feb 2016 12:30:49
Relax - how many players have we looked at over the past couple of windows? It's my understanding, from the eds numerous posts, that clubs look at loads of players - they'd be foolish not to - and gradually, over months, whittle it down until they're ready to make an offer on one. Even then, as we saw with Alex Tex, it's very easy for no move to happen. Having clubs that are currently performing better than us looking at our players isn't a bad thing, although I agree it was better for the ego in the days when it was only Barcelona / Madrid or Chelsea's money that were big enough to poach our best talent. I'd be more worried if Villa were talking about taking our best.

22 Feb 2016 22:14:56
Den82 you do realize PSG is owned by a sovereign wealth fund that has unlimited resources? Qatar is the richest country in the world and hell-bent on promoting their country, culture and brand globally. They paid a nonsensical astronomic fee for dross like Luiz can you imagine what they will pay for someone Who is half decent? I don't think money is the issue here my friend.

Agree1 Disagree7

23 Feb 2016 13:36:25
just because they have lots of money it doesn't mean they will spend it on a player that the could have bought for less last season. Maybe they will explore taking Ronaldo in the summer, if real don't move him on before their transfer ban kicks in he will leave on a free. Maybe they might still be sniffing around hazard, there are all sorts of options open to them.

Agree0 Disagree7

{Ed002's Note - Whatever interest there is in Firmino is entirely separate to the PSG interest in Ronaldo which I have dealt with at length. Again - what happens with Hazard is irrelevant in respect of PSG who are looking at a large number of players knowing that they have already lost Lavezzi and will be losing a number of high profile players in the summer.}

22 Feb 2016 13:49:58
Hi Eds,

Can you realistically see Moreno leaving in the summer? Has there been any interest in him? If so is Guerreiro be the likely replacement?

Thanks in advance, keep up the good work.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Possibly, no, possibly but there is interest in Guerreiro from elsewhere.}

22 Feb 2016 19:30:10
Hi ed,

Would Moreno leave because he's out of favour with Klopp, or because somewhere else attracted him (or both)? I can't see Madrid being interested in him.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - There is no interest in Moreno from anywhere else right now - certainly not at the sort of money Liverpool would look to.}

23 Feb 2016 09:48:51
Well it's going to be difficult for Klopp to sell Moreno then. I have a feeling he prefers young Smith for the future.

Thanks ed.

23 Feb 2016 23:04:40
I'd suggest keeping Moreno but playing him as a winger.
Put Brad Smith or Flanno in at left back.

Morning redmen,

Irs been a boring weekend without a Liverpool game!

To hopefully bring you some slight excitement, here is the weekend loan update.

Luis Alberto played the full 90 as deportivo lost 1-0 to espanyol.

Big news this one.
Awoniyi started! And got an assist as FSV won 3-1
His first game of the season.

Another rare sighting was that of yesil coming off the bench for the final 20. However he was unable to prevent luzern losing 1-0.

Vogouroux played a key role as Swindon beat Blackpool 3-2.
At 2-2 he saved a penalty before Swindon hit an 88th minute winner.

Fulton played the full 90 as Portsmouth drew 1-1 with Yeovil.
Pompeys results have stuttered recently as they chase automatic promotion.

Canos came on for the final 3 minutes as Brentford lost 3-1 to derby.
Their tumble down the league table continues.

Sorry reds accidentally posted before finishing.

Allan played the full 90 as St Trident lost 3-0.

Grujic played the full 90 as red star won 2-1 as they close in on winning the title. Grujic is up for player of the season on their website.

And that's your lot.

Now to put on a Shrewsbury shirt and watch tonight's game. They have a scouser (big reds fan) as their striker. i'd love to see him hit the winner.
