According to a website, goal, and various other sources sturridge is undergoing a medical tomorrow...is this 100% accurate Eds? Cheers {Ed002's Note - Please read the earlier answers.}

Terrible news, this player will be anotherRyan Babel for us

Ed, sorry but it doesn't appear you have said whether the rumored medical today is true or not..please enlighten us.

Thanks ,
Hej {Ed002's Note - I have made it perfectly clear that I really don't know when his medical will be. Why does it matter?}

Eds ,fellow reds , if the reports are true about sturridge having medical tomorrow do you think that there would be an agreement in place not to play him in Chelsea last 2 games before window opens , or could we risk him playing for them and him getting injured .thought please .ps good result today must push on now .and Eds and fellow reds ,I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year {Ed002's Note - If a move is iminent he won't play.}

Eds theoretically if we agree a deal with Chelsea for Sturridge, can he start training with us then officially join on Jan 1st to play in matches. {Ed002's Note - He remains contracted to Chelsea until the paperwork is completed.}

He has played his last games for chelsea ,and my personal view hope he fails the medical i think ba from newcastle would be better opition

People need to forget players like ba and huntelar rodgers seems to prefer forwards that can play across all front 3 positions so players like sturridge ince walcott tello all players that can play across the front 3,mark

The problem with Ba is he doesn't really fit into Rodgers system of play. I do like him though. Sturridge has a good goals to games record when you look at this starts on the right so I think he will be a good addition to our squad.

Hi eds, what are the chances of signing loic remy as what i have heard he is unsettled at marseille and i think he would be a good buy if we got him.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Everton and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool or QPR who appear to be the latest club linked with the player. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. Newcastle will very likely move for Remy in January, although there is a slim chance that they might face opposition from Everton who made a recent approach to Marseille about his availability. As far as Marseille are concerned, they have started looking for a replacement.}

Hi eds, have we got any interest or chance in stevan jovetic joining us? He has been looking for a route out of fiorentina for ages but nowone has moved in for him.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - You have been very, very misinformed.}

Not as misinformed as I have been!
I've been told that we will be moving for Daniel Sturridge in a deal worth around £12m!!
Absolutely ridiculous!

Red Head

Rafa said Jovetic interested him when he was still in helm. I think Man City is likely to move for Jovetic, if any English club is interested. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Arsenal, Roma, Napoli and Spurs did show previous interest in Jovetic, but Manchester City, Palermo and Juventus remain interested if the price is acceptable. At this time it seems most likely he will stay in Florence for the entire season after bids from Juventus and Manchester City were rejected during the summer. I think it would take a very significant bid to change that in January, but he remains the primary target for Manchester City next summer.}

Hi eds I don't know if you will hold any store in this but just heard on radio 5 live Robbie Savage confirmed what a caller said that Danial Sturridge is on his way to Melwood for a medical tomorrow do you know anything about this thanks eds {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of the date of his medical but I still expect the transaction to go through.}

22 Dec 2012 19:59:51
What's going on with Dries Mertens now, is BR still interested?
LP {Ed002's Note - I don't see Mertens moving to LIverpool in January. If he moves next summer I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich although there remains serious interest from Lazio.}

According to Aldridge, Sturridge is having a medical at LFC tomorrow. Sorry if it has already been posted.

any possibility in Wilfred Bony? 7-8m region! would damage the premier league imo

wks {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Right now there is varying degrees of interest from Marseille, Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but I doubt he will move to either. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, possibly Napoli and Roma, but that is all there is at this time. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea but anymove in January is by no means certain.}

hi eds last time i posted on here was on the last day off the august transfer window but i still visit this site i love it. anyway here is an interesting rumor. i have no idea if this has popped up but rumor has it there has been a bid placed for pato but the club in question has not been named. it is strongly linked to an english club. now i can only imagine it could be lfc with the fact we are desparate for a striker. whats your thought on this am i miles off or is it something you have heard? cheers eds your doing a fab job as per usual {Ed002's Note - The club is Corinthians from Brazil. Corinthians have offered Milan 15M euros and options on youth players Bubba and Edilson. PSG's interest has likely gone and a further injury might hasten his exit back to his homeland. However, Milan do not want both Robinho and Pato to leave in January unless they can secure replacements.}

Cheers ed much appreciated to the reply

Fantastic player, so underrated
LP

Wouldn't want pato

eds is it true that wev'e resvoled the sturridge deal and it is expected to be announced in 48 hours that weve agreed a fee :) {Ed002's Note - See earlier ans wers please.}

Medical tommorow. Sturridge was at Anfield today

Don't know whether someone is in the know but odds have been slashed in regards to Llorente becoming a red. Not too sure why the betting has increased the last 24hrs. {Ed002's Note - What are the odds on him moving to Juventus?}

4-6 liverpool 4-1 juventus {Ed002's Note - Thank you.}

Llorente 6/1 on .
Is there any possibility on Llorente moving this Jan?

FowlerGod. {Ed002's Note - Whilst Fernando Llorente is still interesting a number of clubs, talks of a January move to Juventus have again taken place with agreement on personal details reached with Llorente's advisors. Whilst Chelsea, and I suspect Manchester City, have dropped their interest, a number of other clubs were scared off by the size of the transfer fee being asked by Athletic Bilbao, regardless of his contract expiring in the summer. There is now a good chance that he will move in January rather than waiting for the summer. Recent interest from Arsenal, Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has been ramping up but will likely come to nothing. Athletic Bilbao are not getting value from the player right now and are resigned to losing him and I suspect will seek to get Juventus to double their low offer to facilitate a January move. His alternatives will be to sign a new contract (very unlikely), sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down and go for a good sized signing on fee.}

Don't odds get slashed when people start placing bets on something? Eg odds on llorente to lfc at 12 -1 may have attracted lots of bets, bookies start to think "actually if he does go, we're gonna have to pay out quite a bit and if all these people keep betting, maybe he could go?" Hence odds get reduced. The odds being reduced could purely be a reaction to the market and not related to factual info about llorente's future?

Llorente is just like Carroll

Llorente is nothing like Carroll, far far more mobile.
Also these odds were slashed on to 10/11 they did this a couple of years back with Ribery. It attracts additional betting in turn making them more money because it is not happening. They do it with someone who "could" move but in reality won't.

Ac can only dream of being as good as llorente! & llorente will not be joining liverpool!

hi eds, i know there has been little word about hooper for a while but i think he would be a great back up striker for the club,doubt he would cost more than 7million..what do you think any chance of him coming in?especially now theres rumours of the sturridge deal collapsing {Ed002's Note - I rather think interest in Hooper has waned.}

Mmmmmm. Did he score today by any chance?

Jimbob

Not the hooper rumour again

I had no problem with Sturridge signing until I heard he wanted a sell on clause. You don't sign for Liverpool with one eye on the exit door.
Hopefully now we can turn out attention to someone like Remy or Gameiro or even Huntelaar

Chris in Tamworth

The sell on may be because we tend to sell quite quickly thease days.

Was it not his agents asking for a sell on clause for themselves? As far as reports have gone, I don't think there's been any suggestion Sturridge has been the one doing the money-grabbing

Its his agents mate...

His agency wants a sell on clause which see's THEM get a percentage of the pie if he were to leave. it's the agents demands we don't agree with but the personal terms as in how much he gets a week has been agreed

Oh so it's his agents.
Do they not work on his behalf?

Chris in Tamworth

Greedy agents. Liverpool have been seen as soft touches with regards agents demands in the recent past and I just think it is his agents trying to exploit that. His personal terms had been agreed in provision as stated in a comment above. I still reckon none of this will prove a major stumbling block and all will be resolved and Sturridge will sign. In saying all that I would personally take Gameiro.
The Gooch

Agents always have a degree of self interest chris,a lot of them could care less about their client except in regard to what money they bring in for them,manipulate a lot of players since they were kids,same sort of sociopath that works in banking & corporate business...
Paisley's genius

I think it was his Agents who want a fee if he is sold at a later date.
As LFC are trying to reduce agents fee, they are standing firm about this.

I wouldn't worry too much about a sell on clause. I agree you don't sign for us with a view to moving - but a sell on clause is becoming common place at big clubs where moving on is a step down. Genuine players with such a clause, admittedly there are so few these days, have sometimes used this to help move to the lesser club o their choice rather than the richest. It can also act as a detterent for the club to cash in.
Then again maybe he's just been greedy.

Eds can sturridge have a medical for liverpool before the window opens in jan? {Ed002's Note - Yes he can, with the permission of Chelsea.}

22 Dec 2012 13:51:26
eds rumours that wev'e made a breakthrough in the sturridge deal and he will have his medical tommorrow can you confirm any of this. thanks for all the hard work :) {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the plans are for a medical and I cannot even imagine what a "breakthrough" refers to, but as has been explained I expect the transfer to go ahead.}

22 Dec 2012 13:44:49
Whispers through various blogs, FB pages etc, sturridge medical tomorrow, he will also be at today's game?
Piddy.

Well we'll soon find out if there is anything in this...

22 Dec 2012 13:59:26
why do i have this feeling he is gonna be another waste of money, he couldnt make it at city, or chelsea and he only came alive at bolton, peoples views are that he is selfish doesnt look for others and misses more than he scores so why is BR looking to him?...

22 Dec 2012 16:18:00
I think he is a waste of money, he carnt even get above torres in the pecking order at chelsea and that shouldn't have been to difficult on torres form. Again he is over priced which is typical of a british player nowdays, he seems to have a bad attitude aswell which isn't good in any squad, I hope rodgers knows what he's doing because its a massive second half to the season for us and we need to start putting wasted chances away and I don't think sturridge is the man to do that for us, better players out there for less or the same amount

22 Dec 2012 13:34:49
Eds, any substance to the rumours Di Santo coming on free at end of season.....
Cheers ste {Ed002's Note - I assume that the rumour exists because Rodgers has worked with him. The summer is a long way off.}

22 Dec 2012 13:23:16
Ed002 there's a rumour (you know where) that sturridge is due for a medical tomorrow. Don't shoot the messenger!

Bill S {Ed002's Note - Exciting isn't it.}

22 Dec 2012 12:04:17
Eds, what interest is there in Jack Butland and are we looking into him? Would a January deal be likely?

Cheers

RedAds {Ed002's Note - I so not know anything about any interest from Liverpool. Additionally, I would consider Butland a high-risk move if Liverpool were to look to him as a first choice goalkeeper at this time.}

Butland is world class potential

I think rogers will start off with jones as number 1 keeper n have butland battling him for a spot.. Assuming reinas sold.. Cos surely rogers wouldnt hav had jones sign a new contract with intentions of buying butland AND keeping reina..?

22 Dec 2012 11:56:25
Will turan sign eds, what are your views on him? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps in the summer there will be a chance to sign him. Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. Arda Turan will most likely move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England and Italy although there remains a chance that previous German interest will still be there and an outside chance of a return to Turkey. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they do not want to sell in January.}

22 Dec 2012 11:44:56
Hey Eds,

I was just wondering if there was any interest in Rodrigo (Moreno Machado) from Benfica either from us or any other club. He seems like he'll be a class act and could definitely fit in with Rodgers style of play.

Regards and a very merry christmas to all! {Ed002's Note - Juventus and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Rodrigo.}

I would hope that Rodrigo would be the type of player BR has looked at and wants in the 9.

22 Dec 2012 11:41:28
Eds, have we held talks regarding Jeffren yet. I'm not convinced by him after failing to make the grade anywhere he has gone, how does that make him good enough for us.

HullRED {Ed002's Note - As far as I am aware Liverpool has spoken with Sporting and with Jorge Llagostera but not to the player himself.}

22 Dec 2012 10:30:26
Ed002 there are some rumours that we are interested in taking kaka on loan in jan? i know we would have to send sahin back to RM for it to happen but have u heard anything {Ed002's Note - Is this something from Twitter? Regardless, I don't see any chance at all of Kaka moving to Liverpool on loan in January.}

Man is a shadow of his former self. Was the best player in the world, would just about make it into the Swansea XI now

22 Dec 2012 10:16:08
hi eds, keep up the good work . this is like christmas again getting all excited bout our transfer targets
I have heard we may have made contact with barcelona about acquiring Villa. Have you heard anything? {Ed002's Note - Not about Liverpool interest in Villa.}

It is Christmas hohoho!

No apparently he is off to Swansea

22 Dec 2012 09:07:21
eds if the issues with the Sturridge deal are not sorted out,do we have Kevin Gameiro lined up on a loan deal?

ste {Ed002's Note - No.}

Sturridge will be fine

Never said he wouldnt

My mate has just completed a luxury flat rental for Jordan Henderson in Cobham Surrey he will join Fulham in the new year also hearing that Adam Morgan will be loaned out to the cottages aswell? FACT ince , sturridge and buttland are the only sighnings :(

I'd be happy with those three.

LoR

Where is the flat and I will go and check it out..be surprised as there aren't many quality flats around here

Adding "fact" in capital letters makes statements that much more believeable.

Hope it's true, Henderson has been very poor for us. Lets hope Brendan starts shifting the other dead wood in the summer as well.

Merry Xmas

Gaz1975. {Ed002's Note - It remains a pity that so many Liverpool fans consider members of the playing staff to be "dead wood".}

'Only signings'? ...I wasn't expecting a new starting 11.

Gaz, was he deadwood when his goal put us through the europa? I assume for that game he wasnt deadwood? You might suit following the plastics, mate.

Dan

Any one who says that there are no decent flats in that area obviously has never been to Surrey!! I can 25 top sports stars that live in the area and another 20 past it stars. The place is full of ex football players, folders etc. Henri has been rubbish for us, but u think the pressure if the signing is still heavy on his shoulders. We should give him till the end if the season at least.

21 Dec 2012 23:26:12
Ed, I'm still confused here, when we here that all that needs to be sorted out for the Sturridge deal is the issues with Sturridge's agent, does that mean that a deal has been struck? {Ed002's Note - There is no deal until everything is finalised. Issues remain to be resolved initially and then teh transfer needs to be processed.}
