Hi Ed,

Been reading your comments about us going for Luuk de Jong soon, don't you think this is a bad decision? Personally i would much rather us use a combination of Bellamy, Kuyt and G.Johnson for a couple of years before Sterling, Suso and Silva are ready to break though.

I also think we should be targeting a left footer in case of Downing getting injured, personally im not a great fan of A.Johnson as i find him petulant and arrogant but his ability is undoubted. I think Gainford in the youth squad looks a good prospect but he is a fair few years of being near the reserves yet. Are we interested in any left-footed wingers other than A.Johnson? I would have no problem in us signing someone like Malouda who can do a job on both wings and tends to stay out of trouble(from what i can tell).

And finally midfield, as much as i love Lucas(as you can tell from previous posts) and think he is a very important part of the team, but can't help that we could easily get an upgrade in his position, The man that i would love to be brought into the team is Yann M'Vila this boy just looks nailed on to be a future World Class unsung hero in much the same mould as Makelele and from what i can tell he seems to be a humble lad much like Jordan Henderson, apprantly he got married at 18! and has 2 kids at the age of 21!. If he isn't attainable who would be a good buy? ive seen little of Moussa Sissoko but seems to be much more of a box-to-box midfielders something i think we have an abundance in, and what about Cheick Tiote? he looks a very good DM but doesn't have the greatest temperament.

Thanks for you help.

Jatt YNWA {Ed002's Note - Like it or not, Liverpool have an interest in Luuk De Jomg. The midfielder we expected to be chased, in accord with Comolli's viw, was Moussa Sossoko who would be a real nifty buy.}

You'd play Glen Johnson up front?!

Lol no, i ment in covering right-wing, which i reckon where Luuk de Jong will probably play if we sign him, as i reckon he will be a direct replacement for Dirk Kuyt. Would much rather us save the money and allow our youth a chance to break into the first team. Although i will say Luuk de Jong looks a very good prospect, but so does Sterling, Suso and Silva......

I thought he is being bought as a striker not right winger. Is this the case or is he being bought for both the position.

Abhi {Ed001's Note - both mate, apparently that is why he is seen as such a good replacement for Kuyt.}

Thanks ed for reply. But my question is that is he quick and skill full enough to play in RW. If he got these attributes then i'm happy with the signing. Thanks

Abhi {Ed001's Note - he is, in my opinion, quick enough and has the ability to be a right sided attacker or winger. The more I see of him, the more I like what I see.}

Luuk is more of a striker that can play in the right if asked so i'd say he'd be a very good replacement for kuyt as he will prob be the replacement for kuyt in the international team also. none of suso, sterling or silva plays in the position that de jong plays.

and i also hope we get andy polo he looks more ready to play from the bench than any of our talents above physically.

Hey, Eds.. Just wondering if theres been any interest in Schalkes Huntelaar lately.. And do you think Lfc would move for Twentes De Jong this january.. Thx
{Ed001's Note - no, Huntelaar is not deemed good enough, mainly because he isn't good enough. I think it is more likely that De Jong will be the main target for the summer, though that could easily change.}

Hey Eds, just wondering whether there are any more LW/RWs on LFC's radar apart from Johnson? Downing will not be enough to make a fully-fledged squad. {Ed002's Note - Luuk De Jong as a right sided attacker is on the radar.}

This post is just out of curiosity really, but has there ever been any interest in Theo Walcott? I have heard Adam Johnson's name thrown around, but never Walcott's - I know he had huge potential when he was about 17 and never really seemed to live up to it, he has the pace, but seems to lack the finishing quality. It almost seems like Arsenal have just let him go a bit. He is younger than Johnson, and in my opinion has the potential to be better. Also he grew up as a Liverpool supporter, and i'm intelligent enough to know that this wont be a deciding factor, but at least he would be open to it. What you think?

Would be good to see him in a red shirt on the right wing. Him, Sissokho, De Jong and possibly Goetze would be absolutely fantastic.

Dream on.

@ the poster above...Goetze to L'verpool...really?....lol

Walcott himself has said in the past that if he ever gets to the point where he feels he is done at Arsenal he would run his contract down in order to get a free to Liverpool - which was an odd thing to say at the time I thought. Wouldn't like him in the shirt anyway, just not consistent enough.

Grow up he's absolute crap

Hazard agent has said chelsea, madrid, Barca,or inter will sign him if they meet the 40 million euro valluation
they are his preferred options.

RedRaj

Forget hazard mate. he has a terribe attitude, n a huge ego. Let the big clubs waste the money on him. I wud like his younger bro thorgan to sign instead for us.
Indian Buzzer

The agent is probably only saying that as the teams he mentioned have a shed load of money and spend huge amounts easily

In the next few days you will hear that LFC have agreed a deal with Standard Chartered for the development of new Stadium in Stanley Park, 71,000 capacity¦.

You heard it from me first! ( my source is good)

Wreckless Kev

I doubt it

Rather than slag you off and call you a muppet (like many will) I will give you the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise.
Thanks for the info and I look forward to the announcement.

Matt b

I doubt it will be 71000 as max capacity from planners is 65000 due to infrastructure in the anfield area

cumbrian red

Do you have any further details? How much is the deal worth? How much is the stadium going to cost in total? Not sure if I believe this or not but really want to.

I think saying "the next few days" is a little premiture however, my understanding is that the the club have been holding discussions with the council over a capacity above the 65,000 currently on offer so 71,000 may be realistic.

However my understanding is standard chartered have been out bid.

Hi ed what do you think are chances are of getting sao paulo midfielder lucas if we did go for him and how much would we have to pay. {Ed001's Note - almost none to none, you are talking about a player that is going to cost in excess of 30m more than likely.}

Hey ed, do u expect us to move for kagawa and subotic if we make the champions league? They wud complete our squad perfectly. And r we watching james mccarthy?
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - It is far to early to tell what will happen next summer. However, there has been interest in Kagawa.}

Havent we enquired abt subotic as well ed? As far as i noe, he rebuffed us twice. If we make the ucl, surely he wud consider us.
Indian Buzzer {Ed001's Note - you are correct, he has turned us down in the past, I would think Coates was the player bought instead though.}

But ed, we need another cb next season to replace carra. Surely we wud be lookin to buy a top class cb, n subotic fits the bill perfectly. If we make a move for him next summer, wud we have a chance to snap him up?
Indian Buzzer {Ed001's Note - hard to say right now, Dortmund aren't looking to sell and there would be a lot of competition for his signature. There is a long way to go until next summer!}

Instead of getting a player who don't want to come here why cant we go for someone else. I think everyone is forgetting sakho who is very good and young and also left footer. He is not getting much playing time at PSG. I think its worth a punt instead of wasting time on thick heads like subotic. I know PSG will demand huge money but he is worth it and its time we too go big for a CB if wee need to this time. We can sell skrtel which will cover some price too. What about sakho eds, Is he kind of available or ready to move. Thanks

Abhi {Ed001's Note - he was available in the summer, I have heard of nothing that has changed the situation.}
