Ed It's reported that Benfica have an agreement with Braga for Rafa Silva to replace Gaitan. Do you think think this will likely prompt an offer from Liverpool. or we are targeting someone else perhaps?

Thanks Ed!

{Ed002's Note - Braga will be looking to a summer auction and have as many of the interested clubs as possible make an offer.}

22 May 2016 01:18:19
Haven't seen him play but looks like he plays like markovic, why not just stick with him?

Agree0 Disagree14

22 May 2016 07:31:57
We need a winger/ forward regardless Fency, do you actually think sticking with ibe, ojo and markovic will achieve anything next season. We need better players, silva would be that but assessing him is difficult because of the league he plays in and the fact that probably none of us have actually watched him play a match. I agree we should stick with markovic but we should defenitly make one further addition in that area and I'm not talking about goetze (unless lallana was to leave) .

Agree3 Disagree16

22 May 2016 12:10:48
We need a winger, fair enough. If we were to buy real proven quality then yeah fine. By were buying another unproven player, very similar to markovic, in the same position. A player with big potential, and never really got a chance. If we bought silva and sold markovic we would just be losing more money. At least give him and chance before replacing him before he's been given one. If silva comes in and doesn't cut its, it's another big mistake.

Hi Ed002,

With Sakho facing an imminent ban, do you think Liverpool could turn to Sule? I think you recommended him as a player we should/ could target, and he seems very highly rated in Germany.

Cheers.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - I would have had him in preference to Matip but right now LIverpool are not looking at him.}

21 May 2016 21:11:35
Thanks for the reply Ed, would've preferred Sule on the reports I've heard/ read but hopefully Matip comes in a proves to be an absolute legend.

21 May 2016 21:17:05
Matip is in the official Bundesliga team of the season. Not seen much of him but seems like he is highly rated in Germany.

I think he'll be a revelation alongside Lovren.

Agree10 Disagree12

21 May 2016 22:36:02
to be fair ed i think saving the transfer fee makes matip the better deal plus he has more experience u have said we are in a lot of debt.

22 May 2016 02:21:12
The mail are reporting interest in sule.

Agree0 Disagree12

22 May 2016 03:09:59
Apparently sule and tahs agents were at the final. Sakho will be kept. Skrtel toure ilori wisdom jones will be sold. Need then 2 cbs as gomez will cover fullbacks.

22 May 2016 04:59:29
Voted into Bundesliga team of the year. there's a lot of centre backs in Bundesliga, believe it or not. He must be good.

22 May 2016 07:23:48
I'm sold on Sule, want him to replace Skrtel.

Agree1 Disagree8

22 May 2016 07:38:47
I think with the possible outgoings we would have Lovren sahko (banned), matip and probably toure as our centre backs with Lucas as a utility centre back/ defensive midfielder (I could also see Lucas going tbh) . Is Lucas was to leave then I think we would definitely need a centre back as it is, it would be typical of us not to get one in even though we need more quality in there. I don't think matip is an improvement on what we have already from what I've seen since we got him.

Agree1 Disagree7

22 May 2016 14:04:53
I watch bundesliga regularly and matip is easily a 20 million defender. Has a great partnership with howedes, he's very good in the air, strong and likes to bring it out and play a bit. A poor man's Hummels if you would. He ain't going to be no bench warmer.

22 May 2016 15:31:47
People seem to be forgetting Joe Gomez, is he not a CB?

I know he played LB at the start of the season but thought his natural position was CB.

Sule was mentioned by Ed002 ages ago. I think it's a good shout.

Hi eds,
Just wondering with Southampton supposedly going to bid for Dennis praet according to some sources, do you expect Liverpool to go in for him or has the situation changed regarding our interest in him?
Regards, Ronan.

Believable1 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Everton (again), Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla (again), Borussia Dortmund, Leicester and another English side have also been showing recent interest with Southampton, Sevilla and Fiorentina (again) having met with his representatives and Anderlecht. Middlesbrough could well submit an offer for Praet.

Klopp likes the player but right now is looking elsewhere as has been discussed.}

So Jerome Sinclair to Watford done deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

21 May 2016 15:47:49
Would he have got a chance in the first team? Probably not. So he's got every right to look to establish himself somewhere else. His agent is a bell end though.

Agree14 Disagree14

21 May 2016 14:57:21
Least that's the first drop of poison extracted from the club. Signed his own death warrant when he employed Aidy Ward.

God knows how he thinks he'll get game time at Watford. Amrabat, Deeney and Ighalo are miles ahead of him.

He needs to realise he is still a kid with potential. Strikes me of Tom Ince all over again. An academy kid getting too big for his boots, getting terrible advice from their agent/ father, and both will ultimately end up playing Championship football because of it.

21 May 2016 17:22:48
Yeah, Sinclair has made his bed. Not like we are going to miss him anyway.

Did Rodgers make him promises or was he just greedy?

If Rodgers made him promises then you have every right to seek alternative employment - I'm sure we would all do the same!

If it was greed then I cannot condone that.

I believe he will turn out to be as prolific as Cameron Jerome at Norwich.

Hearing that Joe Allen is of too Celtic, before you say it Eds, it probably started on Twitter or wherever, his due there next week so I was told, oh and I've not got a source either, just a text from my brother.

21 May 2016 09:57:24
Celtic couldn't afford him going off their recent transfer dealings.

Agree10 Disagree20

21 May 2016 10:43:13
Allen would get destroyed in the Scottish league!

Agree2 Disagree27

21 May 2016 11:55:03
Rodgers will only buy the fringe players at Liverpool as Celtic pay really poor wages. Most of our decent players are on at least 10k pw and that is close to Celtic 's maximum. Expect a lot of loan players to go to Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree20

21 May 2016 12:47:29
Rodgers would want him but as has been said, can they afford him.

Agree2 Disagree15

21 May 2016 13:18:15
Hmmm, they've got a decent left back if memory serves me correctly.

Agree1 Disagree15

21 May 2016 13:22:45
Why would Liverpool send loan players to Celtic? What is that going to achieve? Rodgers didn't want the loaned out players. That's why he loaned them out.
Rodgers doesn't offer the loan players anything for a return to Liverpool. Klopp has already said how unfit the players were. It's just not a see able option at all.

Agree4 Disagree15

21 May 2016 17:47:56
Kieran Tierney is the one I'm thinking of. Swap deal on the cards?

Agree0 Disagree12

{Ed001's Note - Arsenal are after him mate, not sure he is that good myself. Another 'defender' with little defensive ability.}

21 May 2016 18:09:11
Do you prefer Chillwell Ed?

Agree0 Disagree11

{Ed001's Note - not sure mate, it is difficult to judge him compared to Chilwell. One plays in a woefully weak league for a team that is light years ahead of the rest. The other has not played as many games. I just see another Moreno in Tierney, whereas I have not seen enough of Chilwell to judge him properly.}

21 May 2016 18:52:24
Would prefer rico henry myself.

Agree2 Disagree10

21 May 2016 22:14:26
Whomever we sign for left back I feel it has to be the least risky signing we make. We haven't had a half decent left back for ages or a half decent keeper since Reina.

Our 3 weakest areas are left back, keeper and central midfield.

Agree2 Disagree10

22 May 2016 02:46:43
Rico Henry is a pussy and would get eaten alive in the top flight. I can't see why Tierney couldn't become a winger. Think matty Jarvis.
Also. Our central midfield is good when can and Henderson are fit. We just need backup for them, which we already have.

Agree1 Disagree8

22 May 2016 05:29:31
Whats with low wage when Celtic has champions league football?

Agree0 Disagree7

22 May 2016 06:15:14
Celtic have a current max wage of around £40k. This is likely to be increased, as Celtic have a very wealthy Irish backer now willing to put money behind Rodgers. This coincides with the return of Rangers to the league and the lack of recent Celtic investment leaving them with a large squad of poor players. £20m budget has been supposedly put forward by the board for transfers.

Agree0 Disagree7

22 May 2016 06:18:29
£40k isn't that low of a wage when you consider the winners of the SPL get £2m. Celtic have been unwilling to go much higher with the wage due to the lack of competition in their league. They will look to invest again now that the competition is back.

Hi all, i'm the liverpool fan who was photographed back in january against arsenal holding a poster of me and klopp ( drawn poster ) , its the first time ever for me to write a post here although i've been on this website for 8 years :)

Anyway, i know basel shock was very strong to us and disappointing but remember, we have a great manager and we'll looking only for players who want to wear the LFC kit, not just play champions league or europe. We'll come back stronger than ever

For the transfers ins and outs :

outs :

Bogdan
Wisdom
Enrique (already left for free)
Ilori
Skrtel (probably to turkey/ china/ usa)
Toure ( yeah unfortunately leaving )
Lucas ( if a good offer comes )
Allen ( midtable team or maybe he'd like to rejoin brendan )
Alberto
Teixeira
Canos ( maybe if he asks for a too much raise )
Markovic ( likely to leave unfortunately )
Ibe ( maybe on loan )
Balotelli
Benteke ( if a good offer comes in, maybe westham )
Sinclair ( we'll take a compensation )

Ins :

Grujic, Matip ( already done )
Gk : Karius
Lb : ben chilwell ( although leicester are asking for 7 million pounds )
Cb : we're genuinely interested in Jonathan Tah and he's available for 17 million, has bags of potential
Cm : Zielinski ( our first target, if we can't agree a fee then we'll go to Dahoud )
AM : Gotze ( our first target but he wants CL, so maybe we'll move on, Pastore has been scouted as an alternative )
after missing out on Dembele we're after Yarmolenko although not the priority right now

Maybe we can go for another attacker and/ or midfielder, depending on who we sell

Regards,
Islam.

Pastore is an awful player, no pace and can't hack it in a weak French league playing for the flat track bullies. As for Yarmelenko, I'd rather we kept markovic.

Agree4 Disagree12

21 May 2016 12:46:06
Yarmolenko is in a different league to Markovic lol. He regularly scores 10+ goals a season from out wide in a stronger league than Turkey, which Markovic managed 1 goal in.

Fascination with Markovic is astonishing. Ojo, Ibe, Kent and Canos are all better players and younger.

Yarmolenko would be a good signing. A wide player who scores goals for fun is what we need.

Agree8 Disagree13

21 May 2016 13:25:45
Agree. Keep Markovic over Yarmelenko. Pastore is Past it for this league.

Like the look of Dahoud over Zielinski.

Apart from Chilwell, why aren't these players linked with other clubs, especially those seen as our direct rivals?

Agree0 Disagree13

21 May 2016 14:21:49
Yarmelenko is a very poor player. One paced and only looks OK in a weak league. Plus he plays for a Ukrainian team and I can't think of one Ukrainian who has done well over here and secondly the owners of these clubs are notoriously difficult to negotiate with. Markovic is quicker, more skilful and has shown in flashes that he could make it in the premier league, just that Rodgers messed him around.

Agree3 Disagree13

21 May 2016 15:06:07
Yarmolenko has scored goals against top teams in the Champions league and Europa league, as well as against some top international teams for Ukraine.

You can't think of a Ukraine player who has done well? Probably because there has only been about 2 notable ones in Shevchenko and Voronin. Besides, what does where he grew up have to do with his ability has a footballer? Voronin and Shevchenko were weak players. Yarmolenko is built for the English game.

And again with the argument about pace! Only English people seem to prize pace above all other characteristics. Hence why Townsend, Lennon, Young, Walcott and Welbeck have all played for England. Suarez wasn't fast either but he had supreme technical ability and aggression to fight off defenders who were faster than him.

I am not saying Yarmolenko would be my choice; he wouldn't. But it is absolutely laughable to say Markovic is a better player. He is awful and we made a mistake signing him. Chelsea didn't want him for less than half of what we paid because they could see he was an over hyped and ultimately bang average kid.

Agree3 Disagree9

21 May 2016 17:24:43
Yarmalenko has delusions of being bang average. Sorry but if you haven't got pace, at least be skilful, which Yarnalenko isn't or have superb delivery which he doesn't. He's not scored loads of goals against top opposition or even looked good when tested against better opponents, he's always looked lumpen, slow and a lack of intelligence on the ball. The comparison with Suarez is ridiculous as Suarez isn't a winger and Suarez was quick out of the block and had quick feet. Again, things that Yarmalenko doesn't have. He's a bang average third rate player in a weak league.

Agree2 Disagree9

21 May 2016 18:23:37
But Allen's already playing for a mid-table team.
