I'll take Lallana, Lovren, Can, Konoplyanka and Bertrand.

Agree2 Disagree3

I would opt for the same players as Chris but would replace Bertrand with Rojo and if Lallana chooses to go somewhere else I'd take firmino.

Agree1 Disagree0

Lallana, Lovren, Can, Konoplyanka and.

Myself also, Rojo please, not Bertrand. Erkin for free as well. Perhaps prefer Parejo to Can but if he's half the price Can would be nice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe one but no more than two out of that list would join

You forgot about Ashley Cole, who could be the signing of the season! Don't know why we didn't go for Shaw, who would have joined Lallana if we pushed the envelope.

Still, Cole for free for 2 years would be a great signing, and would mean that we could at last get rid of Enrique

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think signing Cole would just hinder Flanagan's development (unless, of course, you consider him a Toure-ish stop gap meant to add experience/leadership to the squad, in which case our wage budget just went to rubbish). Add in the fact that Flanno is above Cole in the England pecking order right now and I just can't see why we'd bother unless we couldn't hit on any of our other targets, namely: Rojo, Moreno and Bertrand. My personal preference is Rojo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cole is not compliant to the transfer and wages policy of the club.
Even though we could bring him in on a free, there's still the matter of wages, and we won't be able or willing to match the other offers out there. I also, don't think he would fit into the mentality of the club or the Liverpool way.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He would hardly be free.}

I would rather they give brad jones a go

Agger has asked the club to listen to offers for him.

Lallana is now very close.

Thanks

Great that you keep us fans posted.

Agree2 Disagree0

Letting Agger go will be a mistake.

Hi Ed

Could you tel me please with our interest in Lallana, is he seen as the much needed wide left player? Or would you think we are after him as we'll as an out and out winger? Ie Tello, Konop.

If as well as do you have any idea of who the winger could be please?

Believable15 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - He has the ability to play all away across. I have explained that there has been interest in a number of wingers and it is now being suggested there is interest in Konoplyanka again. Tello is certainly a player available and of interest to LFC.}

Thanks for the reply mate

So we could well get Lallana and one of the above wingers. I had read that we were back in for Konop but thought it was made up because of other teams being interested. Some reports say we have people over in ukrain discussing the deal for him.

Lallana, Konop or Tello and Louvren would be vey nice.

The problem is Tello hasn't really proven himself on this stage (and he's also not as suited for a physical game as Lallana) and we just don't have the money for that many wingers, so we'll be going for a player who can make a serious impact right away. We have young players to fill that position just as well as Tello can, if needed. We also have players returning from loan, having had good spells themselves. We'll need to be able to play those players more in the coming seasons if we desire to keep them. We already have a problem with Suso in that department.

ed, is konoplyanka(sp)agent just drumming more interest up in him as he said tht information Liverpool are not interested is untrue, and in the last half hour I've read a couple of articles Liverpools reps are in ukraine having disscusions?i appreciate uv said manu, tottenham, psg are interested, is it possible we still want him?thank you

Believable7 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Liverpool right now as they have been looking elsewhere. They could obviously rekindle it as he would be cheaper than the likes of Shaqiri and Sanchez. There is interest from Manchester United, Schalke, PSG, Bayer Leverkusen and Spurs and perhaps Liverpool have rekindled their interest.}

21 May 2014 12:57:36
Hi Ed, is Konoplyanka still on Liverpool's radar or do you see him going elsewhere?

Believable5 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - Right now it is PSG, Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen and Spurs who are showing interest and looking to negotiate a transfer. Liverpool seem to have dropped the interest they had.}

Its a pity pool won't get konoplyanka him and shkeri [sp] might cost 30mil and 2 of them seem better value than 25mil for lallana for the sake of maybe 5mil more

Agree2 Disagree1

Well according to some reports today Ed, we have sent people out to discuss his transfer? I think we should move on from him myself.

Morning Eds,

I have been hearing that we are interested in Cardiff's David Marshall and Steven Caulker.

What's the latest on these two transfers speculation.

Thanks

Believable5 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know of Liverpool interest in Marshall although there is interest from elsewhere. Liverpool are right now looking to Lovren, so Caulker won't be a priority right now.}

Why are we trying to sign all of Southampton? They aren't going to sell shaw, lallana, lovern and Schneiderlan!

Agree1 Disagree3

@Charlesdance
Should we back off and let Utd sign Shaw and Arsenal sign Schneiderlein so should we?

Or how about we just continue trying to sign the players we're interested in like Lallana and Lovren. It's up to Southampton who they do and don't sell, why would you back away from transfers to let rivals pick up their targets instead.

Hi eds. Can you offer any information in regards to the Dejan Lovren situation? Has there really been and offer? Also is the Lallana situation moving along or stalled? Thanks and great work as always.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - It has been suggested that an unacceptable verbal offer has been made. I am not aware of any update in respect of Lallana.}

21 May 2014 11:08:01
I think Ayre made an offer of 2 million and a bucket of KFC.

Agree6 Disagree0

Another unacceptable offer? What is the club doing?
Doesn't this kind of thing achieve nothing other than to piss off the selling club to the extent that they will prefer dealing with any other purchasers who may be interested?

Agree2 Disagree0

"It has been suggested that an unacceptable verbal offer has been made" - I see Ian Ayre is working his magic again!

Agree4 Disagree0

Reports today saying a bid of 8m has been rejected, what are we on? They payed 8.5m for him a year ago.
I get that these players we want may not be worth the money Southampton want but that's the market now, Liverpool got to get with the times!

Agree4 Disagree1

I think Ayre offered free donuts for the purchase of Lallana & Lovren.

You have to laugh.

There's a report that United are looking to 'get under our skin' by signing Konoplyanka. According to the site, they're looking to wrap up the deal as soon as Van Gaal confirms that he wants the player and this is seen as a considerable slight at LFC.

It also goes on to say that Dnipro are annoyed at LFC due to our failure to wrap up the deal in January!

For a start, I'm pretty sure that we would have loved to have signed the player in January, but it was their Chairman that decided to pull the plug at the last minute.

It'll be interesting to see if we do go back in for him, but - based on what we're hearing at the moment - it's looking unlikely.

I would truly doubt that we retain any interest in the player anymore.

21 May 2014 10:04:55
Hey.

As you can see the Echo have reported something similar to what said yesterday regarding James Milner.

Just to reiterate we could potentially move for him, although I consider it extremely unlikely if we do get lallana.

Lallana is also edging closer, it wouldn't surprise me if it was completed this week.

Liverpool are expecting some kind of offer for Suarez this week, my understanding is that we won't sell.

Suarez has told everyone at the club that he is not leaving,
Although never say never with Suarez.

I hope I'm wrong but what real Madrid want they usually get but how much they want Suarez I don't know.

Agree1 Disagree1

I don't think lallana is coming

Agree1 Disagree1

Unless a 'silly' offer comes in (we are talking bale money or even more!) I just can't see us selling.

My understanding is that Suarez doesn't want to leave, he want to experience champions league at anfield and his family is settled.

I would be surprised if he did leave this summer.

Agree6 Disagree0

Agree with Josh BUT if RM offer silly money I think US busiinessmen will sell.

Agree1 Disagree1

US Businessmen want to be in the CL every year. Suarez is one of the keys to that.
All Suarez does for the "businessmen" is gives Rodgers extra transfer funds without them dipping in their pocket. The simple fact is we would not be in CL without Suarez. there's no reason to think that will be any different next year, and with the increased CL revenue in 2015/16 it will be even more critical to be in CL from then on.

Hi eds. I seem to remember talk in the last Window about us being interested in Kevin Volland. Is this still the case or have we missed a chance?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest.}
