Eds,

In the past you mentioned Sturridge was overpriced by Pool.
Are you aware if the price has now been lowered and is it more reasonable for other suitors?
Or, still know one wants a bar of it?

Thanks

Tommy T.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have given a price to his agent that will make any transfer difficult unless they (a) lower the asking price, and (b) contribute to his wages.}

on a more broader spectrum do you think this is a recurring theme for players now, we are trying to get too much for them e. g. Markovic.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs will always try and get the best deal they can, but they need to avoid things like supplementing wages as it can be a financial disaster. Everton and Rooney is about to be a good example.~

Agreed I should of reworded it to priced out of a move.

Are we currently paying part of any transferred players wages at the moment?

{Ed002's Note - Not that I know of, only some loan players.}

Maybe clubs are hoping a rich Chinese club comes in for sturridge. He would totally light up China lol.

The smart move would to be place a very minimal transfer fee on Sturridge, if one at all, and almost let him walk to the team of his choice where the buying club simply pay wages to him. Probably unlikely that happens though.

The longer he stays the more we pay in wages obviously so makes sense to lower price. I think £5million would attract clubs, same applies to Markovic really.

When is Sturridges contract up?

You'd imagine that some form of structured payment depending on appearances could be worked out. If he goes on loan I'll still be rooting for him to get fit and score some goals. I like the guy but he's just taking up space and wages in the squad.
How about Lallana, Ed? Have they put an inflated price tag on him also?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He has a contract, if he stays or goes on loan it is not something that can be negotiated. I am not aware of Liverpool offering Lallana for sale.}

totalsportek. com say Sturridge has 2 years left on his contract on 120k/ week but indicate it ends in 2019 so I think it is only 1.

If we where able to sell Sturridge I can imagine he will want a healthy signing bonus to sign a new contract as you have to believe he will not get anything close to what he is on now so take that of the price anyone would pay.

I can't help feel thou if he stays he will be more motivated to play as he will be looking for a new contract at the end of the year!
If he stays I will support him and hope he can find some fitness and form! If he leaves I will wish him all the best!

Hey Eds, quick question if you follow the academy recruitment. There was a kid from WBA academy that the club was looking at I heard, it is where we got Yan Dhanda from. His name is Joshveer Shergill was the club interested in him as it looks he is going to sign with Leeds. Don't mean to throw out a random name, just heard a few things. Figured this site would be more reliable.

{Ed001's Note - it is very difficult to follow academy recruitment mate. So I don't keep an eye on it. Sorry.}
