If you could be so kind ed002, I have seen reports today saying lfc are in the running to sign Haaland at the end of the season, one even goes as far as saying we favourites. I take this with a pinch of salt but could you forsee lfc trying to get a deal done for him or will we be blown out if the water by the likes of city, United, psg and Real Madrid?

Appreciate any response. đź‘Ť.

{Ed002's Note - I would say that it would be best not to hold your breath over a transfer this summer.}

Hahaha, I thought as much ed002. Man can only dream I suppose, or go play some football manager and get lfc to buy him. As always appreciate the response. 🙏.

Any truth in the news from Germany that we are very interested in Haaland? While he would massively improve our team he would cost a lot and we would have to sell one or 2 key players.

I’m not so sure Haaland is what we need. As much as he is very very good and would score lots of goals in the premier league I’m not entirely sure his style or play fits our system (of course a system change could occur) .

I’d rather we signed Raphina and then add another young forward to the side.

Of course the effects of CV will massively effect our transfer dealings as the Ed’s have mentioned multiple times. I still think we’ll see 2/ 3 new signings in summer with 4/ 5 outgoings.

Same here MR
I believe we will lose Mane or Firmino and maybe both this summer as the evolution begins. At the moment I believe the most likely recruits would be Raphina, Bissouma, Neuhaus, Luis Diaz, Lautaro Martinez or Traore. Happy to go with whoever Klopp believes is the right fit.
I would personally choose, Bissouma, Raphina and Martinez
Ox, Milner, Origi will all move on too.

Ox is having his most productive injury free run since he signed, can't see him walking away if he can maintain that (key word being IF) . Origi is apparently happy with his role and loves the club. Klopp clearly loves the lad, doubtful that he'll move on.
Millie might just have reached the end of the road with us, Morton could even step up and take his place without the club shelling out tens of millions for a replacement.

I would be playing Origi instead of Mane on current form anyway.

I wouldn’t get any hopes up of a summer spending spree. We’re likely to see empty stadiums again and we know what happened last time. If we end up selling Mane and Firmino, it’s not going to bring in a lot of money (age/ form/ remaining contract length), and certainly not enough to adequately replace either of them. Forget the likes of Bissouma, Neuhaus, Martinez or Diaz, even the likes of Raphinha, as the money isn’t there and selling Mane and Firmino won’t raise enough for that. IF we spend to replace, it’s going to be bargain basement dross like Traore or Dembele, neither of whom are fit for purpose. And in Dembele’s case he’s not fit for anything.

And that’s without mentioning Salah’s contract issues.

Manè at his worst plays ahead of Divock, isn't the guy in the top handful of premier League scorers this season? I can't see any of the original front 3 being sold now, Salah because he's just too good and Bobby/ Mane because compared to what fee we would get for them are still as gud as nearly anything else around. I expect all 3 to still be here in 2/ 3 years time with a couple of signings having being made in that time along with Jota to see them gradually replaced. Also kids like Gordon may be ready by then.

Haaland is mustard though, he would improve any side in the world. Take a bit of pressure off Salah to score every game. The amount of chances that Liverpool create in a game, Haaland would score bucket loads.

I believe whoever signs Haaland in the prem wins the league, we should have been in for him when he moved last tho.
