Liverpool target Chelsea's Josh McEachran for a summer transfer (currently out on loan) as Brendan Rogers looks to secure another young talent. With the chance of breaking into the Chelsea first team looking near impossible, McEachran would relish the chance to be reunited with Brendan Rogers for a 3rd time. The only stumbling block would be a potential transfer fee with Chelsea holding out for at least £6mil.
Rory Spartacus

Ok, some of the post on here make me laugh, but you are well and truly off your head. You have absolutely no chance on landing Josh. Keep your grubby midtable paws to yourselfs.

Melbourne CFC

This kid is too good for Chelsea to let go for only 6 million. his ball control is amazing. great technique. his being wasted in Chelsea reserves. {Ed002's Note - He is not in Chelsea Reserves.}

Unlike what most people think, I think strengthening the side with British players would be great!

While I agree 100% with bringing in young talent & developing them, we need to bring in some proven players, oltherwise the one's we have will just want to move on as they dont have 4 - 5 years for the younger ones to prove themselfs...

There is absolutely no chance of lfc landing the chelsea youngster!

He couldnt get in the swans 1st team so i hope not!

ben from swansea

He couldnt get in the swans 1st team so i hope not!

ben from swansea

What's the point of a scouting network if Rodgers is going to focus on players he worked with before.

We are building to reinforce our current mid-table status.

The guy is rubbish

Highly overrated, made no impression on loan at swansea, no chance of 1st team at chelsea, wouldnt even be a guaranteed starter in championship! {Ed002's Note - He made a number of first team appearances as a 17 year old for Chelsea and now as a 19 year old is playing regularly whilst on loan.}

Alright Eds, can any of you clarify what the situation is in regards to Bijev? Are there issues regarding a work permit? I remember reading he was highly rated in USA when we signed him. Also, do you know how he's getting along?

Also, Merry Christmas to you all on here, you've all made it a great forum to read this year, so cheers for giving me a reason to procrastinate at work and get shouted at on several occasions!

JFT 96

JP {Ed002's Note - There remain Work Permit issues. And have a neato and boss holiday (apparently I can't use the word nifty).}

21 Dec 2012 19:21:32
Ed, just out of intrest, are we 'frontrunners' for Tom Ince or are other teams in the same position as us?

Thanks {Ed001's Note - no such thing.}

Sorry Ed but if there was no such thing then we'd have no bookies.
Surely if a player is up for grabs and Barcelona made a bid, the player then tells press he'd love to warm the Barca bench, he loves the way they play and the weather is great too - surely Barca would be considered a front runner when compared to Anzhi. {Ed002's Note - It really does not work that way. However, if Phil Thompson was doing teh negotiation I think we could safely say that Liverpool has it's nose in front.}

21 Dec 2012 17:52:24
eds have we agreed a fee for sturridge and is there a chance he wil be at the lfc match tomorow {Ed001's Note - no and why would he be there?}

Some people don't know what a transfer window is, I guess...

Piledriver

No he will be on bench for Chelsea against villa

21 Dec 2012 17:57:10
Any future interest in David Teixeira or Dusan Tadic?

Apparently non of the Eds are able to forsee the future lad.ZA13 {Ed003's Note - I am the world ended,shoud make you happy}

21 Dec 2012 16:35:52
Hi Ed.
The whole day i read different rumour. Some of them were just awful. I am tired of them. I want to knw who u think likely targets for lfc. And any chance of Mvila to lfc.
Thanx. {Ed002's Note - Sturridge, Ince, possibly Jeffren. M'Vila probably not.}

Sound's like Walcot won't be coming then.. Pity as I rate him higher than Ince & Sturridge to be honest....

Just watching Ince play for Blackpool against Wolves.. nothing special..not even average....
Should go for the young lad at Derby, Hunt(?) an keep him there for a season or two

Lads and Lasses,

Done some digging and asking around about Arda and my Turkish mates all say the same as to his situation.

1. He will be gone come the end of this season and Atletico will not stop him leaving.

2. His head has been turned by another club, but apparently there are 4-5 bigger clubs interested in signing him. Fee that Atletico are looking at for him will be around 23 million euros.

3. His coming to Atletico contained a clause that should Arda want to leave for a bigger club that Atletico would not stand in his way.

He is a lifelong fan of Liverpool and his best mate is Nuri.

This is pure speculation as to if Liverpool are interested in him, because quite honestly I don't know, neither do my Tukish mates. Bayern Munich might be interested, but we think this is unlikely as he has had the chance to join them prior to joining Atletico and he turned them down.

Other clubs that could caugh up 20 million euros would include Chelski, Arsneal, Man City and Man U.

Cannot myself see him attracting the attention of any of City or Chelski given the manager situation with Rafa and City would more than likely go for a higher profile than Arda. Same actually for Chelski seeing as they have Mata and Hazard. Man U possibly to replace Giggs on the left. Arda is a natural left sided player but can also play in the no.10 spot. Think personally he would be a good fit in terms of requirements at Liverpool seeing as Raheem for me is better on the right, and we have on the left ... ? Assaidi.

Can only think of a few other clubs who might want him. Can't see him going to Italy and I have the feeling we might be interested. But all crystal ball stuff right now though.

Anyway, just wanted to share this.

YNWA ! Andy {Ed002's Note - Clubs do not buy players because they are supporters. Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. Arda Turan will most likely move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England and Italy although there remains a chance that previous German interest will still be there and an outside chance of a return to Turkey. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they do not want to sell in January.}

How can you write into a contract that a player can leave to a "Bigger" club? We like to think that the Reds are a big club but try going after a player from another club and telling them we're a bigger club than they areso they have to let a star join us.The only way you can buy a player is to offer enough cash.I'd love to see a lawyer produce a workable clause that defines what's a small,medium,or big club!

The Plank

Ofcourse you can measure if a club is bigger, just google football fansbase there you got em on list. nothing else matters

Have you nothing better to do than make stuff up.

21 Dec 2012 21:25:00
Ed002, Thanks for your information, and merry Christmas. Time for a beer I feel.. ;-) {Ed002's Note - And have a neato.}

Watching Athletico atm, and i would take Arda Turan before sturridge, ince walcott even if we would've get all 3 of em. the guy is pure class english playser are not.

Bigger number of supporters? Bigger transfer budget? What bloody list?And what do you mean by nothing else matters? A real rubbish response.

The Plank

Just to share an information about Turan that is amazing. He played around 130 matches for Turkey. U-16 to A squad. He is only 25. Impressive. Would be great if we get him.

' Bayern Munich might be interested, but we think this is unlikely as he has had the chance to join them prior to joining Atletico and he turned them down. '

He could have turned them down for any number of reasons, that doesn't mean he wouldn't move to the club given a second opportunity.

Ed great site and excellent work..
Ed pls watch out for two names if they arives in EPL..
Loic remy and kevin germio...
Both are underrated..and will cost 7 mill for the first and 10 mill for the second...
We have a great chance to sign both but we have 150 reasons not to sign and we are buying sturridge..

If these both fails in EPL I ll never post anything here again..
Rememeber my name...
I dont give players one year two year time and excuse..
I am 110% sure..they would fire in EPL with in 6 months if they arrive.

Harry
YNWA {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Everton and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool or QPR who appear to be the latest club linked with the player. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. Newcastle will very Remy in Januaryalthough there is a slim chance that they might face opposition from Everton who made a recent approach to Marseille about his availability. As far as Marseille are concerned, they have started looking for a replacement.

There has been long term interest in Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund, Everton and Kuban Krasnodar are showing interest in the player.}

21 Dec 2012 13:41:05
Ed, I'm aware of the issues in which Liverpool and Chelsea need to sort out for Sturridge to sort out, but I was just wandering will it be difficult to sort them out, and could sorting them out take some time? {Ed002's Note - I don't see it as a problem in the big scheme of things.}

21 Dec 2012 13:32:27
Hi eds do you no of any interest in aubameyang and.what.sort of price he would command? Great site and great work many thanks, seasons greetings to you all {Ed002's Note - After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Manchester City, Manchester United, Zenit St Pete, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I don't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January.}

Would love aubemeyang ive seen him play a lot, would fit in perfectly with the way we play but unfortunately i think he will stay at st ettienne for another year before returning to ac milan

21 Dec 2012 13:20:07
Any instrest from us in Ola John from benfica the winger reminds me of sterling a little bit ?

Cheers
REDAN {Ed002's Note - No, Ola John won't be moving to Liverpool in January.}

We are not interested in him as he is is so good he has managed around 400 mins and one goal all season !

21 Dec 2012 12:14:20
Loic Remy who is reportedly signing for the Geordies is one hell of a player - why aren't we in for him? {Ed002's Note - That would be because Liverpool cannot buy every player who comes up for sale. Add to the Liverpool has not shown any recent interest in Remy.}

He's not that good, im glad we have shown no interest.

BigD

21 Dec 2012 12:53:42
BR wants fluid versatile players to suit his system. Remy is not such player and has struggled for form this term.

Newcastles squad is full of Frenchman

Hes not that good....if he was then the likes of chelsea, united, city, barca, madrid, juve all would want him

21 Dec 2012 12:13:49
Hi eds, Great site, just wondering how likely a Jack Butland deal is this January. A lot of papers reporting it but i was under the impression such a deal was more likely to occur in the summer.

ZC94 {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of a move in January and teh summer is a long way off.}

I think if makes perfectly good sense if we sign Butland loan him back to B-ham till end of season and then loan him out to a Epl side next season then he will replace Jones beginning of 2014- 2015 season.

Jack Butland would be perfect replacement for Reina

Why wait to 14/15

As I understand it jack is not interested in a move to liverpool! And is not seeking a move from birmingham city! However if birmingham decided it was time to cash in for whatever purposes then wherever he goes will depend on the amount of appearances he will be able to achieve? Let's not forget he is currently a no1 keeper and a full international! His confidence is pretty high at the moment and would probably like to keep the momentum going?

Should try sign him & loan him back to Brum for the remainder of the season.. One for the future..

21 Dec 2012 12:01:42
hi eds , was wondering if there is any truth to the rumours of the sturridge deal hitting stumbling blocks seems to be getting reported in the rags , just wondered what your take was , thanks for your time and have a good xmas and new year (your going to need it jan beckons and the trolls and the "is messi signing" brigade are crawling out from under there rocks!!)............andy. {Ed002's Note - As I explained, tehre is an issue over the non-transfer fee related costs that Chelsea and Liverpool need to resolve.}

Just to clarify, are these the agent costs that you are referring to? If so, shouldn't these be settled between Liverpool and the agent? Thanks {Ed002's Note - It is rathger more complicated than that and involves both clubs - I expect it will all get resolved OK.}

21 Dec 2012 11:56:07
Sahin is key to arda turans decision of leaving athletic Madrid as he wants to join his nation compradre in Liverpool . Go sahin btw lots of rumours of him joining permanently but we will face a bidding war from borruasia dortmunt {Ed002's Note - Sahin is due to return to Real Madrid in teh summer. There is no agreement for a move to Liverpool.}

It's true admin it's going to happen I have my sources {Ed002's Note - Jolly good.}

Which ones he again ?

21 Dec 2012 11:55:55
So Eds we're only allowed one more loan in this season is that correct? Any ideas for any other names whispered to be that player other than Jeffren? Gameiro maybe? Or just hazard some educated guesses sher go on! ;)

RedKev {Ed002's Note - Assuming Sahin stays, only one more is allowed. I am not going to guess.}

Ed002 do u think it is possible that sahin goes back to RM in january? {Ed002's Note - There is only a slim chance - unlikely I woudl say.}

21 Dec 2012 08:28:36
Eds do you know if we are interested in ander hererra? We have been rumoured in past just unsure in interest is genuine from us or not.

Also these reports and English club have contacted Pachuca in regards to hector hererra could this be us and not united ?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - I do not know of any interest right now.}

20 Dec 2012 23:01:53
Apparently we're intrested in a young French defender called Nicolas Isimat Mirin. Have you heard anything of this Eds?

The Rectangle {Ed002's Note - If there is anything in it then it won't be to teh summer. There have been some discussions with Lille already in terms of Isimat Mirin.}

21 Dec 2012 11:16:30
Good morning Eds and reds,

Just wondered if we could potentially sign Walcott on a pre contract in Jan?

Thanks,

Emlyn {Ed001's Note - nope.}

21 Dec 2012 10:19:03
Any Interest in Markel Susaeta ? Seems like a player who would really suit the current set-up at Liverpool.

He would be a brilliant signing and I totally agree that we should go for him before someone else does, definitely a star for the future

21 Dec 2012 08:09:31
Lucas Biglia of Anderlecht has become a transfer target for Brendan Rodgers, and the Belgian club have reportedly told him he can leave if the asking price of £8.35 million is met.

The Argentine midfielder has been a long-term target for Liverpool, although Arsenal were also linked with a move in the summer.

"We have not formally received an offer for Lucas but we know that his agent is making moves in the transfer market," Anderlecht general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck told calciomercato.com.

"Biglia has two and a half years left on his contract and we would only consider letting him go if we receive an offer of €10.25m. He won't leave in January for a penny less."

AC Milan are also thought to be monitoring the situation. Biglia has won seven caps for the senior Argentina side and has nearly featured almost 200 times for the Brussels outfit in the Belgian Pro League.

21 Dec 2012 07:04:11
hi eds.. any chances of callejon from Madrid. Hoping for a ans ed.. cheers & merry chrism's in advance for all viewers.

Somnath frm India. {Ed001's Note - unlikely at best.}

21 Dec 2012 07:03:23
Hi Eds,
Whats the story with Jay Spearing and his loan at Bolton, I thought he signed for 6 mths? Is he on his way back to Liverpool or are they looking to extend/make it permanent?
Jcthekid {Ed001's Note - his loan is for the season.}

Can we extend his loan for ten years? I had forgotten about that little nightmare. He is worse than Cole, Downing and Borini. Bring back Igor, he was as good.

^ How is Borinis name next to Downing and Cole? The lad is 21, has only played a handfull of games and in most of those games he has a positive impact. Anyone writing off Borini or even considering him bad is ridiculous.

Hes an awful player anyway

21 Dec 2012 03:09:14
Once again people there is no set budget. Potential signings will be evaluated individually according to availability, price and most importantly meeting the requirements of the new recruitment model.

players like Ince & Jeffren will replace the likes of Downing and Cole.

While Nicolas Isimat Mirin will also be signed in january but then loaned back to his current club until the summer, to keep coates on he's toes as coates will then be in carraghers position (when carragher retires).

In terms of strikers coming in january Rodgers will get his man Sturridge with the idea of buying a TOP striker in the summer to replace Carroll (in the form of Lacina Traore).

with Three Central Strikers: Suarez, L.Traore, Borini

three Right Forwards: Sturridge, Jeffren, Suso

and three Left Wingers: Sterling, Assaidi, Ince

we don't need a "marquee" striker we have one he's called Luis Suarez, then having Traore and borini as back up, one word begins with dep & ends wid th.

Have to say that this is one of the most sensible post I`ve read
on here in a while. Would be happy with this set up and could well be true!

Right forwards...left forwards....

Yes one of the more sensible posts....NAAATTT!!

Left and right the wrong way around son

Since when did Lacina Traore become a top player? For the fee that Anzhi would want, coupled with his wages, it does not make him a financially viable option. There are a lot more technically gifted strikers available who would fit more comfortably into our system.

It is the right way around.

sturridge, jeffren & suso are not wingers they are forwards who mostly play on the right.

sterling, assaidi, ince are not forwards they are wingers who mostly play on the left.

21 Dec 2012 02:03:14
Liverpool to go for out of contract Ryan Fraser in january transfer window.

Best talent in Scotland for years.

21 Dec 2012 01:10:09
Heard SAHIN is permanently transferring at the end of the season for about 16-20mil Christmas is coming soon btw heard this from the same guys who said he is coming on loan so it's possitive

I would be surprised at this given how much he has played recently. Not sure how interested he would be in signing permanently when he has been a bit player of late. But I could be wrong.

Andros

16 - 20 M for Sahin, I'd rather pay R Madrid to take him back. He is lightweight and ineffective in midfield and Shelvey has made a much bigger impact than him this season albeit occasionally upfront.

YOZLFC

You must be joking .......... the whole point of taking him on loan was to have a look at him when fully fit , there is absolutely no chance we will bid for him now .

Haven't you noticed , he can't get anywhere near the first team !

He's an excellent player, he's just finding his feet.

I'd rather pay 16-20 for alonso who's like 31 or somefin

You're calling a player rubbish with very minimal amount of time playing last season, with him being the future replacement for alonso. He's not settled yet, give the guy a break!

I agree with the guys saying he's not good enough, if he was something special like he was dubbed to be surely he would have made more of an impact and 16 to 20 mill for someone who isn't showing his true potential now, will be a waste of money a year down the line as clearly proven with the so called experienced premier league regular stuart 'can't cross a ball' downing

It wouldn't exactly be a shock if we did, considering our awful transfer activity over the last few years.

I dont think it would be that much of a surprise. Rogers seems to be treating him like he has a long term future at the club. Hes not acting like hes a one season loan signing, playing him loads at the start of the season and then dropping him when hes not good enough. Hes playing him like the other young players or developing players. Playing time here and there, and not rushing him.

The lads not physicaly strong enough to play in the prem and is far to slow we need to look elsewhere

20 Dec 2012 22:51:08
Ed, Any truth in the rumour that: Valenciennes and Liverpool are close to reaching an agreement for the transfer of Nicolas Mirin Isimat for between 4 and 5 million Euros

Thanks {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard anything about that, though we did have him looked at a couple of years ago, I remember the name and had to check the date of this post, just in case!}

21 Dec 2012 19:05:30
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/liverpool-close-to-reaching-4m-agreement-for-the-transfer-of-fren

Heres where i found it Ed001, what do you reckon? {Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about sport witness at all, so I would have no idea if there is anything in it or they are just rehashing an old story.}

20 Dec 2012 19:50:59
Metro reporting that we are close to signing Butland as well as Ince and Sturridge. Any truth in Butland eds?

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, least I heard no one was in for him in January, but that was last week.}

Metro, spit...
Liars and mischief makers. Those guys have problems.
I would not believe one word they say.
Metro, part of he liar alliance.
Justice for the 96

21 Dec 2012 09:22:47
Does anyone else think the Ince and Sturridge rumours are going a bit Clint Dempsey? The fact that the Blackpool manager said we were nowhere near meeting the valuation of Ince is a reminiscent of Clint....

Ed any idea what was the bid rejected by blackpool for Ince ?
was it 4 mil or less than that ? {Ed002's Note - I don't know, sorry.}
