what is the story with samuel inkoom. is he really being touted for a move to us or is it just his agent trying to get him a deal

It is being said that he has said it himself. Would be a useful addition. Considering that he has quite a similar style of play to Lyon's bastos.

And, our RB are always injuried, we need backups, AND GOOD backups.

Hi eds and fans, we are linked with Inkoom, is he any good he plays as a full back, he said his agent is in talks with pool and he hopes to join, how serious is our interest in him? hibsylfc thanks {Ed001's Note - I am a little confused by this, I don't know of any Liverpool interest in him, I thought it was Chelsea in talks with his agent. He does look a good attacking right back, but do we need yet another right back?}

You are right, but the newspaper was saying that KK might be looking at replacing johnson due to his constant injuries. hibsylfc

Problem is both kelly & johnson seem to be injury prone.

He could be a good buy considering kelly may move into the cb role when carragher retires

Considering johnsons injury list with us and kellys adding to kelly he is a cb maybe kd or dc want a proper rb in the bill for fsg in terms of value for money long term. but why are we still monitoring sissoko if we have henderson and adam? i think its the same reason.

Inkoom----Kelly------Coates-----Enrique?

Alright Ed's, ive seen you mention Luuk De Jong on a few responsed, is there serious interest in him from Liverpool?

Thanks

Stu. JFT96 {Ed001's Note - yes, definite strong interest, Ed002 mentioned him as well as people I know, so I am very sure of it now.}

Ed is he more a striker or support.what price we looking at considering hes only young.DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - he seems to be an out and out striker from what I have seen, though he has played wide right I believe. We are looking at a 10m player I expect, he is not going to be cheap as a full international for a Dutch team that is ranked No 1 in the world!}

Lots of potential at 20/21 kuyt future replacement then.do you expect a move in jan or summer.have we got any rivals who he could choose over us.DORSET RED

It was obvious from January that we would be looking for a replacement young striker for Ngog and I suggested De Jong and got hammered for it. De jong and Mertens in January would improve our squad a hell of a lot.

I think this will be a good buy, considering the price as well. hibsylfc

It is sad that kuyt's days at liverpool are coming to an end. He gave his all every time he is on the pitch and did not and may never will get as much recognition he deserves both the club and country. But as a club Liverpool should always try to improve and also get younger in terms of squad age. But my question for eds is if kuyt were to leave either in jan or summer how certain are we to move for De jong. And i want to know how good the player is. Sorry for long post, but pls reply. Thanks

Abhi {Ed001's Note - it seems very likely, we are showing a very strong interest in him and he does seem to be the first choice striker. How good he is? Well good enough to get in the full Holland side, the team that is ranked No 1 in the world. He is already in double figures for goals this season, he is good in the air, quick and strong. I have liked what I have seen of him, the lad is a goal scorer and we need one of those to finish off our moves.}

For 10-15 million, he wud be a cracking signing. No point spendin 30+ million on higuain, the money cud be spent on a world class cb like subotic.
Indian Buzzer

Lets hope so the lad has quality written all over him.

any interest in shaquri, jovetic, a.johnson and dzagoev. thanks {Ed002's Note - Aside from Johnson where there may be some interest, the others are most unlikely.}

20 Oct 2011 19:55:52
eds do you anything about Andy Polo? {Ed002's Note - I understand he has been invited for a trial.}

I hate to sound harsh but what about xherdan shaqiri? {Ed002's Note - Juventus are keen, as are Hamburg and Leverkusen.}

Yeah he's a mint player!

Ed,

Do you think that we will be in for Gary Cahill in January?

Looks to me it may well be on the lines similar to Enrique....Kind of done deal??

Ed, ur thoughts please??

LiverBird {Ed002's Note - It is certainly not a done deal. There will be interest from other clubs and I suspect Chelsea are favourites.}

Why Chelsea, they have 4 top class CB, why a 5? {Ed001's Note - because Alex wants to leave England and Terry is getting on.}

Hi Ed's! If liverpool decides to move for a player in januari who will it must likely be? I've heard romurs about Luuk de Jong, Higuain, A. Johnson and Iker Munain? :) {Ed002's Note - As I have already answered to you - Luuk de Jong. There is no chance of Higuain or Munian.}

20 Oct 2011 19:01:35
Hi Ed's. Is there any chance that Liverpool will make a move in Januari for PSV Striker/Midfilder Ola Toivonen? Do you think he's a good player that can help the team? :) {Ed002's Note - Not much. If you want a "Yes", then ask about Liverpool moving for Luuk De Jong.}

20 Oct 2011 18:01:00
Hi Eds,
Is there a possibility that we'll sign in january both Higuain and Johnson? {Ed002's Note - Between nada and zippo possibility.}

Why no chance of Higuain, his not the first choice at Real, Real wants Neymar, and we need a goal getter {Ed001's Note - the question was regarding January.}

So your sayin there still a chance? {Ed009's Note - In summer, a small one.}

20 Oct 2011 17:46:57
Hi Ed's, If Higuain would become available would it be likely that liverpool move for him? I think we are lacking a finisher. {Ed001's Note - yes.}

ed001, are you sure Mancini does not rate/like wtv it is with adam johnson? he has been very good. scoring and all that, cant see why he would still wanna replace him? but i hope Mancini still wants to replace him. Really the kind of player that would improve our team currently IMO.

Kaizer {Ed001's Note - I am 100% sure that Mancini does not like his attitude in training or his lifestyle. Johnson was not signed by Mancini and he would like to replace him, I believe Di Maria is the most likely player to replace him, they certainly spoke to Madrid about him in the summer and are still keen to bring him in.}

So, i think its like Real Madrid want to replace di mari with hazard. Man city want to replace johnson with di maria. Then we could get johnson. I personally think this could not be possible until summer because it involves a lot of negotiations etc. Is this the scenario ed?

Abhi {Ed002's Note - It involves a lot of "ifs" as you say. But it is not out of the question.}

Eds, I wondered whether you knew anything about this Ghanian RB who is reportedly claiming to be moving to LFC?

This is from one of this morning's NewsNow links:

"Ghanaian right-back Samuel Inkoom claims he is on the verge of completing a move to Liverpool from Ukraine outfit Dnipro."

It's not true, surely? We've got two top drawer RB's already. If money's going to be spent, surely we need more top-quality attacking options on the right wing?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect it is the player or his agent talking himself up.}

From the little i've seen of Inkoom, he's a very attack-minded fullback, and not a wonderful defender. Unless we're selling Johnson, or either him or Inkoom are gonna play RM, then I don't see this getting off the ground. Good to see another young player championing a move to our club though, always a good sign.

Rugby Parker

Inkoom can play at right back right mid or left back. very gd player for ghana he played well against sudan the other day. he is only 22 and would cost 5mil roughly. bit of risky signing coming from ukrainian league but he does have talent.

GMN

I like him alot. and if ed remembers I did ask about him to ed, at the start of last season. But I don't think it being true now, because we already have some quality right backs in the squad and also in our youth system. YNWA

Personally I'd like him here. he is a bastos like player. We can turn him in to a winger. he is so good in attack. i like him alot, since watching him play in the world cup. believe me, he is such a class. YNWA

Eds. Not really a rumour but now that Glen Johnson is fit, do you think FSG will cash in on his value? Glen is 27, will we keep him for the next 3 years, and lose his current transfer fee.
I really like Glen but his injuries have put him below the radar recently. Also have we enough talent in the younger players to take his place in the team. {Ed002's Note - It will be a matter for the management team rather than FSG. I am sure Dalglish will look over the player during the rest of the season and decide if he wants to keep him. Equally, if he is fit and not getting games, perhaps Johnson will decide to move on.}

It looks like the king rates him, giving him such a long extension so early in his reign.

He signed a new contract before the end of the season. I'd be very supprised if we did sell him.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Get rid of Johnson. Crap attitude. Crap defender. Kelly does the job well. Wave in £14m for Glen and invest elsewhere.

To the above unnamed poster saying johnson is crap:
Show some respect mate. Johnson is in no way crap. He has definitely improved since kk took charge. However if an offer in excess of ten million was to cum in, then i wud cash in coz we already have two superb right backs in kelly n flanno at our disposal.

hy ed! great site! is it true that hazard will be heading toward either chelsea or man city?
if he goes to city i can see a great chance of getting adam johnson what do you think?but i don't think chelsea will buy both hazard n bryune(spelling)! n if hazard goes to chelsea will we be interested in de bruyne? n is it true andy polo will be liverpool's player by next month?
last question ed! if carrol continues this poor form until jan,do u think a striker in jan is most? i would appreciate your view!! hope to get a good reply! great site!
red i live for!!! {Ed001's Note - I think Hazard is more likely to replace Di Maria at Madrid. Not sure about Bruyne, I know Chelsea have a long standing interest in him though. Yes Polo is set for a trial, but no decision has been made about signing him, as far as I know. I don't expect a striker to sign in Jan, unless one leaves.}

Why would Madrid allow Di Maria to leave, seeing as he has been such an important player for them? {Ed001's Note - I am told there are issues with him.}

Liverpool look to have won the race to sign South American sensation Andy Polo - with the teenager expected to arrive at Anfield next month.

A host of top clubs, including Real Madrid and Arsenal, have sent scouts to Peru to run the rule over the highly-rated striker, who made his debut for Universitario aged just 16.

Polo, nicknamed La Joya (The Jewel), has scored three goals in 13 games and has been compared to Brazilian star Robinho.

The teenager is expected to travel to England in November at the end of the Peruvian domestic season.

He will spend a month at Anfield and is then expected to sign a long-term deal to join his South American compatriots Luis Suarez, Lucas and Sebastian Coates.

Found this and thought you boys might be interested... 12 hour night shifts are so boring.... HERBIE(MUFC)

Cheers Herbie.

I read this story elsewhere as well. I used to work twelve hour shifts as well but I never found them boring. They went quite quickly as I was WORKING all the time. You obviously have nothing to do but write nonsense on a site that should be of no interest to you whatsoever.
Dutchmal

Thanks very much Herbie, but I can't help wondering where all these young superstars are going to fit in?
Every week some prem club or other signs up a 16 year old megastar- it sometimes seems like there are more 'new Messi's' than average players.

These stars will fit in at LFC. We have moved on players at all levels so we need to replenish the academy, reserves and first team squad. We should not count numbers but snap up talent. AKLFC
