Hi

I remember reading a while ago that Lorenzo Insigne was considering leaving Napoli in the summer and that Liverpool where interested in him. i haven't seen anything in here to discuss him so just wanted to ask anyone knows of any interest from us? Think he could be a good replacement if coutinho was to leave.

Cheers lads.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Many clubs looked, Milan had a recent offer turned down and Insigne has agreed a new contract. No interest fom Liverpool.}

Hi Ed. I will probably get told to rtp mate but very interested to if there is any update on Luan or any other Strikers at this stage please?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - A third party working on behalf of Milan is working to see what it would take financially to resolve Luan's ownership issues. As I have previously explained, there has been no offer from or agreement with Liverpool for the player. Liverpool has had representatives at a couple of games in France over the past week, one of which was Bordeaux against Marseille where they would be looking again at Malcom.}

Do you rate malcolm? Never seen him play and no nothing about him. cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not really one to "rate" players but Malcom was of interest to Barcelona, Olympique Marseille, Dynamo Kyiv, Chelsea and Juventus before he left Corinthians for a loan at Girodins Bordeaux to gain some experience. At the time he was expected to join Chelsea but the issues surrounding his ownership was a mess, to say the least. Bordeaux worked hard to untangle matters and persuaded the player to sign a permanent deal which ended a very ugly third party ownership deal with multiple parties involved in January 2016. The head of scouting in France for Chelsea has continued to watch Malcom with scouts from Braga, Juventus, Porto, Liverpool, Southampton, Manchester United and I imagine others taking an interest and watching him play.}

Cheers Ed. Is he an out and out Striker mate? Seems to be Winger unless he been playing out of position?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He is a Mane type of player (primarily a right winger who can play as a striker or left winger) which is why it seems an odd choice to me.}

20 May 2017 16:30:51
It is odd that we are watching him I agree. Especially if his first spot is RW. We need an out and out LW and an out and out Striker, (as long as Sturridge is still leaving) .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A number of the players Liverpool has looked at have been RWs who are versatile. Brandt remains the favoured LW but it will take a commitment on behalf of Liverpool or a change of heart from him.}

20 May 2017 16:44:12
Brandt would be a great signing if we could get it done imo. Thanks for the info ed.

Malcom is rapid and skilful a lot like mane not sure of his end product. He seems to play on the right but be left footed. Maybe klopp thinks he can convert him to play on the left or maybe he may switch mane left Malcom right so they both cut in and allow the hopefully new attacking full backs space out wide?

Mané could surely be at least as effective at LW. Better to bring in a suitable RW ahead of an OK LW, and convert Mané.

Maybe Klopp sees him as an out and out frontman so he could have Malcolm in the middle.

We could play Malcom in the middle just behind the front two, effectively 2 1/ 2 men up front. They could all be good friends imo almost like a modern family. I hear he is a family guy, so we will see.

Malcolm in the middle, 😁😁😁😁.

Malcom is a left footed player and should have no problem switching over to the left wing.

Hi Eds, I've been reading recent paper talk and seen links to Timo Werner, is there any truth to to theses rumours? As I feel he'd be a better alternative to Lacazette (who I previously said I wanted us to sign) based on what I've seen of him recently and on highlights. Also what are your thoughts on him? Thank you in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - RBL's Timo Werner was of interest to Spurs before he left Stuttgart but that interest seems to have gone. The German press have been asking Werner about Liverpool but he has remained respectful about the club but has not mentioned any interest. RBL have said nothing since they mentioned that scouts from Chelsea and Liverpool attended a game in December where Werner scored against Hertha Berlin and in January Liverpool and Dortmund scouts watched him score against Eintracht Frankfurt. Given he only joined RBL last summer and his season is going well with Leipzig more than likely being in the Champions League next season, RBL will not be looking to sell and I doubt he will be looking for a move.}

Coutinho would prefer to stay. He's always been a very genuine guy since his days at inter. He recently said to a friend of mine that champs league is not a requirement for him staying and while Barcelona interest is flattering he's happy where he is for now.

I can't see him leaving unless Barcelona stump up the ridiculous asking price and the club decide to sell.

Also in other news I wouldn't count on James going to United as he has stated he does not think their style of football will suit him at all and is not keen on being rotated.

I'm still holding out hope that he stays and plays midfield next season!

I really hope your friend is right. I don't want us to have to force him to stay like the Suarez debacle, I want Coutinho to want to stay!

If he stays and we invest in a left winger and new full backs I genuinely think we are title contenders next season.

A Liverpool fan approaches a Liverpool player, he's not going to say yeah I want to go Barcelona is he?

I'd hope Rodriguez does go to united and ends up playing as a second full back like Henrikh Mkhitaryan does. Particularly since it means another season of enmity and unhappiness at united.

if there is any truth in rumours Neymar's dad/ agent suggesting he move away to come out of Messi's shadow then might impact on Coutinho wanting to move to FCB, I believe Neymar is the one constantly in the media about him going there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There are a couple of sides interested in Neymar but I would not expect a move this summer. Ideally Barcelona want to build around Neymar going forward - and they would be happy to see Messi move on. I have no idea what his father has said.}

Ed2, I know that this is technically a European question ....

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Liverpool or Coutinho.}

@Fency

The friend of mine who spoke with him is a coach from inter who is still friends with coutinho from their inter days. It wasn't a liverpool fan asking him.
