Hi Ed02 if your back from your travels? Hope you had a tickety boo time.
Is there any news on our interest of Firmino?
I've used the search function and nothing from you on this recently.
Cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

20 Jun 2015 22:07:43
I keep thinking that if he is so locked on to join Man U then why all this chatter about Liverpool's interest? Is it his agent talking up a move - if so then are things not quite so set with his move to united?

Some reports saying we have reignited interest in Konoplyanka hope so.

Bargain on a free o replace Sterling who's leaving for at least 40 million.

Mixed emotions with all of these free transfers coming in. Same as last season, it's a lot of players to blend into our style of play. Spurs after Bale had the same issue.
On the plus side, happy with Milner and Ings coming in. Kono looks half decent, see what he can do in the Prem (if he comes)

Why do we need kono when we have Ibe and Markovic?

Ed001

Inter have a medical arranged for Kondogbia apparently. Does this have any impact on them selling Kovacic?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - it depends on if they have managed to get another deal done. They were always going to be selling someone to complete the deal but they were looking to try and involve Hernanes in a swap deal instead.}

20 Jun 2015 15:11:25
Ok mate cheers. Not heard anything on the Hernanes swap deal yet.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - no I haven't.}

20 Jun 2015 17:15:33
So us signing kovacic before relied on kondogbia joining inter to pave the way for kovacic to join us, that has now happened but now it relys on weather or not hernanes is part of the deal?????

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 17:05:42
Looks like Inter wanted to secure his signing before letting Kovacic join us.

Ed001 where and how so you see Can,Henderson,Milner,Coutinho,Ibe,Markovic,Lallana & Kovacic fitting in the team as i'm guessing we may play either a diamond midfield or 4231?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - clearly Brendan has realised his mistake against Stoke last season - not enough midfielders in the side. So this season he has rectified that error.}

21 Jun 2015 09:51:37
Wish it was us in for Kondogbia - just what we need.

Hey eds! I hope everything is going well on your front!
Have there been any updates on the following hot topics:
1. Firmino - he seems Manchester bound by all means, but lots of sources claiming that we will throw our hat in the ring - do you know if Liverpool is really showing an interest?
2. Kovacic - it was obvious that this will drag out, but is the club still trying to push for a deal, or is it beginning to look less likely? Not sure how the whole Kondogbia saga is impacting things?
3. Lucas staying - hasn't been mentioned by ed02 as an outbound, is there a chance we will keep him?
4. Luke Garbutt (not the hottest topic, but I really wish we would go for him) - has the kid received any actual offers to your knowledge?

Cheers, and wish you a fine day!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - 1. We have a long held interest, but no move made yet that I know of.
2. They are looking round for other deals, but our offer is on the table.
3. There is a chance he will stay, but there is also a chance he will go, depends on what offers come in. He wants to play.
4. He is considering the offers on the table, he might still decide to return to Everton, impossible to say as it is his decision now. I was told there were at least 7 or 8 firm offers of contracts for him from the Prem alone.}

20 Jun 2015 14:12:03
Have we made an offer for Garbutt?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 14:14:49
Good update Ed, do you expect us to make a move? If so then surely it's him or Kovacic and not both?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I take it you mean Firmino? If so it is unrelated to Kovacic.}

20 Jun 2015 14:48:23
Yes mate I meant Firmino. Really?? Surely were not looking to potentially sign them both. I would of thought one or the other.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Sterling's sale will go a long way to deciding if we can afford to do both deals. Though it is not entirely that simple.}

20 Jun 2015 15:53:47
Wow, ok mate cheers for that. Only a matter of time till City come back in for Sterling you would of thought. If Utd have not tied Firmino up by then I hope we go for him.

Confirmation of what I said ages ago joe Gomez had signed he's over the moon, I'll let you know if and when he goes on loan.

BBC saying Derby interested in taking him on loan. Square tomato, do you know the player personally?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 14:02:03
I do yes, at the moment it looks like he's going on tour then they'll see where is best to go on loan for him he doesn't know anything yet.

20 Jun 2015 14:24:44
I did a quick search square tomato but I can't find where you mentioned this ages ago. Maybe you could point it out.

Not sure why, cus i mentioned he turned down arsenal to come here, I was the first to mention him

{Ed001's Note - I am 99% sure that you did as well mate.}

I definitely remember seeing it. Fair play ST,thanks for the info, keep it coming.

Ian Ayre has spoke to Firmino's reps about potential move to Anfield.

Believable8 Unbelievable14

20 Jun 2015 12:15:04
And asked him whether he would go straight out on loan to a Spanish second division team with a view to a permanent move with subsidised wages and for a fee of less than half of what we paid. I would not let the guy buy water on a hot day in hell.

20 Jun 2015 12:47:54
Well that's him off to Utd then.

Just wondering whichever Ed is available, is there any chance to this at all? I only ask because of the increasing amount of reports. But I remember Ed002 being of the expectation that he was joining city. And if city are still involved I don't see him joining Liverpool as a possibility.

Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Citeh can't meet the payment terms Hoffenheim want right now, due to FFP. That is what is holding up the Sterling deal, that they can't pay huge sums out up front until they get players off their books. So they want to deals with larger amounts based on appearances etc.}

20 Jun 2015 06:28:01
Guy from work, who has season tickets at City, says somebody at the club has told him they will up their offer once more only and that they will go to £45m that's it. I think LFC should grab it and jump for joy that the toe rag has gone. Granted the 20% fee to QPR is a bitter pill, but we always knew that would happen. Hopefully they would then invest in some pace on the wing and a proven goal scorer.

Believable13 Unbelievable7

20 Jun 2015 09:48:40
I do love how a random season ticket holder is going to get the inside scoop from a board member on transfer dealings.
It's all a ploy by the club, if and when a bid is accepted. They can turn round and say how much they wanted him by not giving up

20 Jun 2015 10:03:12
We're talking Brendan Rodgers here - what good is having money to spend with him in charge - look at his record, not only in transfer success, but as a complete package - he hasn't even got a decent managerial CV.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jun 2015 10:33:43
You do understand Brendan Rodgers isn't in charge of transfers?

Agree2 Disagree1

20 Jun 2015 10:50:56
I'm sure Ed1 said a while ago something along the lines that transfer responsibilities were taken away from BR because he had "made a mess of it".

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - as in taken away from his sole control and the committee was set up. Rodgers still has veto rights on transfers.}

20 Jun 2015 13:05:31
I'd be surprised if we didn't accept 45m. It would be the 13th biggest transfer fee of all time. Daylight robbery.
