Friend that is a scout just told me Liverpool are going about everything quietly. They do not want other clubs interfering with our top targets, also preventing a bidding war. He would not tell me names or clubs, so these would go through, but he did say that there is 5 bids out there right now. 3 of these bids are over 20 Million Pounds. He expects the majority of business to go on after the under 21 Euro, and Copa America.
Kenny is not looking to sign mediocre players, he is going with talent and youth. Kenny is not looking to finish just top 4 next year! Kenny, Gerrard and Jamie are looking to lift # 19 next year!

This rumour may actually have some legs as l KNOW FOR A FACT that kk had lunch with Xabi at his golf club last week, this is 100% true, yes it may mean nothing but worth a thought, just felt i would post it now as it seems a few reds are now hearing this rumour.

It is being revealed that the Liverpool transfer guru Damien Comolli has been involved in several meetings with Lyon over their 21 year-old defender Dejan Lovren.
The big centre-back had made 34 appearances for the French giants last season, but apparently does not figure in their plans for next season and has been placed on the transfer list.
It seems that Lovren has upset somebody in the Lyon management because he cost them 8m euros just 18 months ago when they bought him from Dynamo Zagreb, but he now available for just £3million!

I understand that the friendly with Valencia on August 6th has been arranged as part of a deal for Juan Mata. Mata will play for Valencia on the day as a farewell to their fans. However, he will come out in the second-half as a Liverpool player as a surprise. A medical will have taken place before the game. You may think that this would be harsh on the Valencia fans and supporters of Juan Mata himself but they know that there star man will be leaving in the summer as they seek to raise funds to cover some of their hefty debt. This will happen, I have a very reliable source, not one that you would expect (for example, I'm not a friend of Steven Gerrard's brother's girlfriend's uncle's cat or anything like that) but he has definitely been proved right to me before in transfers such as Luis Suarez, the Luis Garcia and Xabi Alonso signings in 04/05 and also the Craig Bellamy and Peter Crouch deals.

Eds are the links between us and Bojan Legit? Or Just superstition, I know there has been mentions {Ed009's Note - the player is a possible to join Roma I believe. Liverpool have, to this point, shown no real interest in the player and will have to do so before there is any chance of a transfer. If they did, we have as much chance as Roma I imagine.}

I have it on good authority from a local journalist that Juan Mata will sign on August 6th, at half time during Liverpool v Valencia. He will play the first half for Valencia, and his medical will be held on the morning of the game.
Dont think he will sign at half time think the deal will already be done well in advance reckon there might be something in the Half each thing though. Could be wrong reckon there's more to the Valencia friendly than just a friendly.

Hi Ed, Can you please post something that is going to cheer me up today. I have posted on this web a couple of times with messages of belief in KK and DC with exicting transfer targets. I am a bit dis-harted at the moment as nothing major seems to be happening. I know we signed Henderson but I feel it will be 3 years at least before he reaches the level of a top class footballer. Our top target for a left back seemed to be Enqriue seems to be going to the gunners. Clichy our second target now seems to be going to Roma. Is this where we stand as a club now having to settle for players way down our list of targets. Adam looks set for Villa. Mc cleish gave him his first chance at Rangers and also capped him for Scotland. I cant belive we can be after a player for 6 months and not get our man. man u beat us to young and jones. Spurs can tell chelsea that their top players are not for sale but yet we sell torres. What is going on? we spent 60m in jan but brought in 60m in player sales. If we sell 5-6 players cole ngog etc we will gwt the 16m back we payed for Henderson. where are the exciting players, Downing or Johnston dont do it for me. When you see some of the players names on the move and we seem to be not first or even second choice to them makes me worry. How slow is DC getting these deals done. Dann a lifelong pool fan should of been in the bag weeks ago. Adam should have been done the day after utd sealed blackpools faith. we need a left back badly and we should have bagged one already. I'll be honest after missing out on Jones and possibly Cahill it looks like KK is looking at Dann...People saying he is only looking at english players may well be right...If he is willing to spend it on Phil jones why not on Sakho, Rolondo, or Subotic? Liverpool have joined the race to sign Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, after Wigan failed to meet clubs valuation of the player.

I hate rumours like this but 3 of my mates from Granton Road, close to Anfield in Liverpool have told me the same thing now... They've heard that Liverpool are to sign an English International on Monday and will be confirmed at a press conference in Anfield at lunchtime. Hi ed, I would love to know your opinion on Daniel Sturridge, as I have previously stated I think is a genuine number 10, much like Mesut Ozil, and I would much rather see KK spend 14-17million on Daniel Sturridge than 10million on Connor Wickham.

I'd agree with you there ed regarding the bench, but don't you think he would be worth a starting place and would work wonderfully as a top three along with Suarez and Carrol(or Kuyt or Other i.e. Mata fingers crossed haha) much like the Dutch play. Suarez can be the target man in my opinion, the way he held the ball up against Fulham in particular against a centre back the calibre of Hangeland was unreal.
{Ed002's Note - He would work well but that would be a change in direction for Liverpool - and would negate the need for wide players.}

Earlier on in the year this board was awash with rumours that we were to sign Ashley Young from Aston Villa. I was pretty happy with that idea. Not just because he's a decent winger and seems to conduct himself well in the public eye, you never see stories of him getting into scrapes/sleeping with his brother's wife etc., but also because of his name. You see I am also A. Young. The thought of seeing this on an LFC shirt was pretty exciting. Lord knows it was never going to happen for me so this was the next best thing! But now it seems that he's going to sign for United. The thought of seeing my name on the back of that shirt leaves me cold inside. Please, for the next few months could we all say nice things about him on here in the faintest of hopes that it will sway his decision and he'll sign for us instead? It's about the the only thing stopping me from contacting deed poll to have my name changed.

My best freinds cousin is currently working in the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool and works behind the bar at various times. he was lucky enough to serve, and you wont belive it!, George Elokobi. While he was getting served, Elokobi hinted at looking at houses in the area. With Wolves interested in Konchesky, is this a straight swap? Just heard that we have dropped our interest in Adam. Unfortunately for him! He really wanted the move but Kenny made it clear to DC to move on when deals slow down as he wants his team together by the 2nd week in July! If the downing deal is going to happen will be by the weekend. Not sure on Wickham. Was told fee had been argeed but hasn't heard anything more so think this could be false. Still very interested though. But one thing for sure is that LFC are interested with four barca players. They wont sign them all, but they are interested in pedro, jefferen, affelay, and bojan! We will here more when barca argee there deals with sanchez and fabregas!

Zapata link is also nonesense and was just the player trying to engineer himself a new contract at Udinese. Positive transfer news though is that Downing, Wickham & Adam will all be signing over the next few weeks.

Just to clarify on the Charles Nzogbia rumours.
Started on twitter by someone posing to be a football agent. He announced the rumour and then deleted his account. Nothing but that.
Unreliable sources no matter how bad you want it to be true just wait and see. These deals cannot be easy to put together they involve silly amounts of money.
Downing reports seem to be dwindling and I hope they continue to do so.
Dani pacheco seems to be avaliable for loan again this season and a lot of championship clubs are interested. Rather loan him for another season then see if he can make the jump to the first team.
Aquilani will depart Anfield this season either sold or loaned out again.
AGUERO....... NOT coming to liverpool. Man city and Chelsea seem prepared to strech to his 45mp buy out clause. My guess is he will end up at Chelsea because of Torres.
Clichy could sign but I think wenger is waiting for money to. Come in for Fabregas first so he has the money to rebuild a squad that looks as though it is falling apart.
Anyway I will never pretend to have a source I could be completely wrong but my guesses for transfers this season will be.
