No space in the 22 for Harry Wilson or Neco, I'm guessing both are nearing moves. No nat either so he may be closer to the door.

Neither Wilson nor Williams have unpacked their suitcases yet.

Agree7 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 17:21:49
Wilson and Williams only arrived yesterday. Kelleher and Phillips not involved either so are both out the door?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 17:42:26
Karius playing so he's our number 1 now.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 18:40:05
I forgot that they were at the euros so came back late. Its been a long day! Either way I'd still expect wilson to be gone by season start.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 18:01:04
Waste of time even starting the season. 1-1 with weed wacker fc and losing to Stuttgart. If we don't sign Oblak, Pavard, Kante, Mbappe and Haaland among others then we'll never get top 4.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 21:07:25
The sad thing is OMM is that there are probably fans posting pretty much that on Tw@tter and won't be joking either.

I think you mean ‘people’ rather than ‘fans’ Flash.

100% Flash. I'd call them idiots though not fans.

is there any truth in west ham looking at Origi. Hope its true great lad Liverpool Legend for the Champions league semi and Finale goals but just not good enough to push are front 3 but am sure he will get plenty of game time for west ham and hopefully he gets to play through the middle if true.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Divock Origi (S) The interest of Cercle Brugge has gone due to asking price. Fenerbahce are interested in a loan with an option to buy. Crystal Palace have him on a list of potential Batshuayi and Wickham replacements and he will be somewhere down the extensive list of strikers West Ham are considering. Liverpool will keep him if they cannot get the price they want.}

20 Jul 2021 14:08:33
What kind of price are Liverpool looking at ed002?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Too much - it will need to be reduced like Grujic to make a sale.}

20 Jul 2021 15:36:30
Circa 15 mill wanted circa 8mil via west ham discussion if tabloids are to be believed.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 15:51:17
Ed002 are LFC comign round to the idea of reducing prices for players to get the sale? Other than Grujic obviously.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know but it has worked with Grujic and Awoniyi.}

There’s no point being stubborn, seems like they’ve been listening to you Ed!

Looks like outgoings are starting to gain momentum. Phillips to Brighton next for £15.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jul 2021 12:07:55
You may be a few quid out with that fee ;-)

20 Jul 2021 12:24:09
That's only €17.33 for Nat! Well done Brighton a brilliant piece of business.

Agree5 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 14:46:07
In todays football market that's peanuts. Heck. In any market that's peanuts.

Could look real sweet in my five a side team. Good replacement for Gary. Anyone know if Nat's any good at house chores? I'm seriously thinking of blowing Brighton out of the water with a 35 pound bid.

20 Jul 2021 15:28:38

20 Jul 2021 11:37:08
Ed2 is Nat Phillips going to Brighton as replacement for White?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Brighton have him as their preferred option of two players they have identified.}

20 Jul 2021 12:24:02
Cheers ed2.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 12:28:52
Gutted to see him leave, he'd never be better than 4th choice at the moment to be fair but he's kinda earned that cult status.

Sure he'd do well at a bottom half prem team where he'll spend most of the game making clearances.

Agree7 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 13:35:16
he deserves an opportunity to make a name for himself somewhere he is going to be a regular.

really impressed with how he grasped his opportunity and grew into the role each game he played!

Agree4 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 15:04:54
Knowing Brighton got 50m from arsenal I'm sure Edwards will try to get 20 for nat which is decent business tbf.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 17:44:01
Not quite good enough for a team looking to win the prem but I was impressed with how he took his chance with us last season and, as others have said, he absolutely deserves the opportunity to be a first choice CB somewhere! Good luck to the lad I say, hope he does well (but not against us of course) .

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 16:10:55
Not sure we would be looking for more, we would have surely been looking at £2.5M or something for him last summer.

Would prefer to keep him myself but Klopp has other ideas.

Hi Ed’s,

News coming out Grujic is in Portugal to complete a loan move to Porto.

Any idea if this is a loan with obligation to buy or an option to buy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He is being sold and won't be returning to LIverpool.}

20 Jul 2021 06:31:20
According to Fabrizio Romano, we have agreed a deal to sell Marko Grujic to Porto. Fingers crossed.

20 Jul 2021 07:11:20
Awoniyi gone as well for 6.5 mil. Looks like we may push hard to bring in a midfielder in the coming days.

Grujic going to Porto in a loan to buy deal with Awoniyi going to Union Berlin for £6.5mil.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 07:47:33
Its circa 11 million and not a loan to buy for MG to Porto.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 07:55:54
Isn't the Grujic deal a straight sale and not a loan?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 08:07:43
I think the Grujic is a direct sale, Joyce and Jones both seemed to have confirmed it.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 08:25:02
Good Luck to both lads.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 08:42:36
MG is a straight sale as DO will be in the next two weeks. Several inquiries about HW mean that he'll have numerous options whether he decides to stay in the UK or go abroad. XS will hopefully follow. This would then leave room for two to come in - possibly SN and DM.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 09:13:53
Rumours about Nat Phillips to Brighton too, as a replacement for White. The figure mentioned was £ 15m.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 09:23:58
You made me think more than I like to this early in the morning, Reynard, but I have decoded your message and agree with your analysis!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:01:30
Finally cleaning out the closet, clearing away the dead wood. Chuck in Shaq and Nat and there is 45m in the pot, and that's without Wilson, Taki, Ojo, and Div, whom could realistically add another 40m to that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Or maybe the money could be used to pay for Thiago and Jota?}

20 Jul 2021 10:07:45
If the rumours are to be believed - and they are certainly gathering pace now - we could be looking at banking at least £60m from sales:

Grujic and Awoniyi - £17m between them
Phillips - £15m
Origi, Shaqiri and Wilson are all in the £10-£15m range - £30m-£45m

So that's somewhere between £62m and £77m, and we may get £5m from other sales - we already have a bit from Liam Miller, maybe Woodburn etc.

There's also the possibility of some sell on fee from Luis Alberto, although it looks unlikely we will sell Naby Keita this season, which would have been a decent cash injection.

It appears Dortmund have not yet sealed a deal for Malen, so he's still available, around £25m. So him and Niguez could be covered by our sales (excluding agents fees etc etc) .

Also looking at salaries, between the names above (Grujic, Awoniyi, Phillips, Origi, Shaqiri, Wilson) we have around £200k - £250k of salaries too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not paid for last season's transfers yet.}

20 Jul 2021 10:32:23
They aren’t listening Ed02.

There are no bills to pay when you are playing Premier Manager.

Agree4 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:35:33
That’s true, Ed002, thanks for reminding me. 👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:36:35
Ed002 did Liverpool not arrange a 4 year payment plan for Jota and Thaigo? So should give them a bit more time in payment and a chance to improve the squad with a midfielder and possibly a striker if these transfers go through.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No someone has been misleading you.}

20 Jul 2021 10:43:25
I think people forget we bought Thiago and Jota on 'buy now, pay later' deals. Makes sense to clear those debts first I reckon.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:44:44
Use the money for sales to pay for last year and get this year’s targets on the never-never again. Just kick the can down the road a bit more. Seems to work for the UK Government.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:45:21
Do teams usually pay the entire transfer fee upfront? or even over the first 12 months. i thought it was spread over a few years no?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The reason Liverpool ended up with Jota was because the clubs would not accept their long term payment deals for the two players LIverpool preferred.}

20 Jul 2021 10:51:26
Wilson appears to be next to Fulham.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:53:55
If FSG decide not to make the most of Klopps presence and final 3 years at the club, it could affect their big pay day when they sell up. Whilst i agree with prudence, and would rather see us run in a sustainable manner, they also need to consider that having a generational talent managing us is rare and needs to be made the most of.
Is there time for version 2.0 under JK at this rate?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 11:27:06
We didn't have salaries last season for Grujic, Awoniyi or Harry Wilson so we don't have "savings" for these. Same with Taki for half the season anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:12:17
My bad! Had read an earlier report that said loan to buy.
£16/ 17mil for 2 players who barely kicked a ball for us.
Perhaps Nat Philips through for £15mil too as previously pointed out and we’ve accrued a nice pot on money.
Hopefully deals for Shaq, Wilson, Origi, Ojo materialise too.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 10:12:26
Happy for the other sales but really confused at why we’re letting nat Phillips go. I know we need to raise funds but he is just not the defender I would let go, Phillips was so reliable and Gomez/ matip are some of the most unreliable players we have, as good as they can be when they get going. We’re essentially relying on 3 injury prone defenders and one that’s coming back from a season out.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 11:35:43
We should ask Brighton about Bissouma at the same time. I can’t help thinking it’s a bit short sighted selling Phillips, but good luck to the lad, I think he’s going to have a very good premier league career.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 11:42:34
VVVV, the key issue on Phillips is what the player wants as well as what's right for the club.

He's 24, and a very decent CB so its not surprising he wants first team football, albeit at a lower level than top 6.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 11:09:19
Quick question ed002. I seen you said that we haven’t paid for last years transfers yet. Liverpool tend to spread the cost of the transfer over the course of the players contracts by the looks of it. Question I’m getting at is

1. Do we do this more than most clubs do?
2. In your opinion on the outside looking in are Liverpool doing the right thing or just kicking the debt further down the road in the hope more success follows which obviously brings in more revenue etc
3. Probably a stupid question and obvious answer but paying for players over a longer period of time does that mean the club pay more in taxes/ interest for example Thiago bought for 20 million, because it was spread over 4-5 years does it cost the club 25 million instead of paying once off payment of 20 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool didn't have the money to buy the players they wanted so they had Jota as a third pick because Wolves would accept payments being spread out. Liverpool are building debt and making huge losses - which is why they must sell to buy or do more with the players that they have - and they have some very good youngsters. If payments are spread out the club have to pay a premium.}

20 Jul 2021 11:29:30
Supposedly there is money already in the kitty without sales. So I assume some money will pay for last year's transfers and the rest will cover, atleast, part of this year's.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Jolly good.}

20 Jul 2021 12:13:28
As well as paying off last year’s debt I assume we will also have to pay for Konate in legal tender rather than shiny buttons?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Correct.}

20 Jul 2021 13:15:21
ed002 did liverpool not use any of the Brewster and lovren money toward last season buys or was that all ready allocated to pay debits. If some sort of payment plan was sorted and we did pay extra for Jota of about £5m in memory serves me right it would be silly to pay that off early and then pay extra for players this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are a loss making club.}

20 Jul 2021 13:22:46
We must be the poorest, successful team in the league. Didn't sign anyone the season before last, signed players on credit last season, struggling to get funds together to sign more than one player this season - and none of the recent outlays were enormous in the grand scheme of things. Hard to fathom how little money we have, on track to be outspent by Arsenal who have been garbage for seasons now, I just don't get it.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jul 2021 20:36:01
And for a loss making club we seem to make a profit every year the last few years except for when C.V. kicked in. probably a stupid question but can a club make a profit and yet be loss making at the same time?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - This is why it is pointless explaining the finances. You don't understand debt - the transfers from last year have not been paid for. All of the Fixed Assets (including the stadium) have been mortgaged. Try not to make yourself look stupid with such posts.}

20 Jul 2021 21:11:14
Classy as usual ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot be expected to compensate for your ignorance.}
