Hi eds,
I'm sure you're sick of being asked about potential new managers after yesterday's result, but I've seen that Marcelo Bielsa is apparently expected to leave Marseille at the end of the season. I know we benefited a lot from his input last season so might we look at bringing him in to replace Brendan Rodgers should the club decide to part ways with him?
Again, I'm really sorry as I know you must have been bombarded with questions about the managerial position over the last 24 hours. Any response would very much be appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
YNWA

{Ed001's Note - not in the thinking, we had our chance to get him and his lack of English ruled him out of the job.}

Ed1 are you convinced that there will we will change manager in the summer? If so is it as clear cut as when city got rid of Mancini which you eds called very early?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I fully expect him to be replaced. He has been on borrowed time for a while now.}

Hi Ed001 and Ed002
If we were to have a managerial change this summer then my personal choice would be to bring back Rudolfo Borrell in the senior role under a DoF. Do you know if he is even under consideration?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - it would be unlikely.}

20 Apr 2015 14:48:06
He is a technical director at City now isn't he?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate.}

I was thinking borell for DOF and FDB as manager I can't help wandering how did klopps Dortmund get so bad this year but maybe they just had too many players looking to go else where.

This is a question to Ed 1, I know you're sick of hearing LFC fans with their hindsight views and is this and that possible, but regarding next season, which coaches/managers have been looked at as possibilities to replace BR if they follow through with a decision to part ways with him? I'll judge BR at the end of the season but just curious to hear if the club have started to make efforts with particular people around the roles in management. Thanks a heap mate, appreciate your work!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there have been no managers or coaches yet been talked to or looked at. There are people favouring looking at certain coaches or managers, but, unless it has happened over the last week or so while I have been out of touch, nothing has actually advanced. Most likely it will be when the season ends.}

20 Apr 2015 15:18:37
Ed001 do you know of any of the coaches these people are favouring. I'm stuck between thinking is it better sticking with the devil you know or is the grass greener with another manager. But if your manager isn't doing his job like this season he hasn't both transfers and on the pitch then

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I know one person who favours De Boer still. I am not sure how sticking with a failing manager is in any way better. If it takes 6 or 7 attempts to find the right guy, then we need to make those changes. The only thing we can be sure of is that Rodgers is not and never will be the right guy. He is little short of embarrassing and turning into a joke with his imbecilic comments.}

I think the final straw for me has been the way he has spoken of us not being experienced enough and wanting it too much. Our players have won titles in other leagues, played European football, won trophies, a lot of Aston Villa's players, no disrespect, are much less experienced and clearly wanted it much more. De Boer for me would be a good choice I have watched Ajax on and off over this season and although they have not won the title they have played the same way as you would expect of Ajax and he is a manager who as a player was successful and been in positions of pressure like Champions League finals, won titles and knows how to treat players in these situations as he's been there. Is there any interest from Liverpool or elsewhere in Phillip Cocu or is he staying put? I have seen he has won the title for PSV this season. Cheers as always Ed

You can be sure if and when Rodgers is replaced it will be for a high calibre manager. The experiment with Rodgers is a failure. I expect Klopp or de Boer to be top of the list.

Good morning Eds

Konoplyanka rumours are rife again this morning. Do you no if we are interested again in him please?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Wolfsburg, Roma, Sevilla, West Ham, Spurs, Shakhtar and Bayer Leverkusen have shown recent interest in Konoplyanka who is able to sign a pre-contract with any non Ukrainian side. Spurs and Roma have put the most effort in to trying to put a deal in place for the summer and his representatives have rejected an offer from West Ham, telling them his preferred destination is Arsenal. If Liverpool are going to look to the player again (and I don't know that they are), then it would be perhaps to replace Sterling.}

20 Apr 2015 14:40:59
While I'm pretty certain the answer to this is obvious, would it be fair to say that Rodgers is aware of this ongoing review process and perhaps been aware for quite some time that the writing is on the wall for him? I'm just curious as to how well known this is within the club and if that has had any impact on the field. For example, do the players know & has that affected them?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There have been numerous changes as a result of this already and Rodgers has spoken of his fears earlier in the season. Like everything else, done to death. The players will be unaffected. They are not the brightest bunch remember.}

Morning ED 1,

If you are around.

Given the interest in Danny Ings, any reason why we didn't opt to buy in Jan with a loan back for the rest of the season ?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - because Burnley would not do a deal.}

22 Apr 2015 01:16:47
It was because Premier League rules prohibit it. That was the statement from the F.A.! Had Burnley been in the Championship it would have been OK and may well have happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I only read the buy in Jan bit sorry. You are correct that a loan back could not have been done.}

Hey Ed!

Just wondering if there was any possibility we may go for Manuel Pellegrini?

He's worked under the DOF/Head coach style that FSG want to install, plays an attacking brand and looks like he'll be available this summer.

This is not me wanting this as you know I'm still a firm supporter of BR despite today's result, just thought it was one that had gone unmentioned so thought I'd throw it out there to see what response I'd get.

Cheers ed's.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware he is not under consideration.}

20 Apr 2015 12:41:08
Cheers Ed?

Do you think he would be a good option if BR was to go?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Pellegrini will not be moving to Liverpool.}
