Rodgers wants to sign Eriksen, Walcott and a versatile fullback, they're still weighing up their options.

Eriksen simply won't happen!!

02 Nov 2012 05:19:25
Mate forget Eriksen he will be expensive(20+million Ajax don't sell their players cheap) and he will have lots of options too choose as almost all european teams looking at his situation. Even walcott will sign new contract with arsenal if not a big IF then he will ask big wages around 100+k a week. Do you think he deserves that kind of wages or our club will except to pay him around that kind of figure not sure as we are busy reducing our own team wages.

If we get rid of Joe cole that would free up enough wages for both Walcott and sterling's increase

Eriksen wouldn't fit into team. We already have too many midfield players. Walcott yes. Full back will be Neil Taylor in summer

U are spot on.

So, Ian Ayre has stated there are limited funds for transfers in January. Surely that means we have to call back Carroll? Or do we not have enough funds to pay his salary?

Coop

January window is notorious for players being over priced. in 1 window 3 strikers added up to £105 million. Liverpool need to be wary of what they spend.For Carrols development I'd let him stay at West Ham,atleast if he starts scoring there and we come to sell,we might get a better price and big sam will get more from him than almost any other manager. Also if Walcott is still a target we should wait till he's on the bosman in the summer.

What the hell is going on with the owners? I thought they had money! Seems like we are in the same situation as before

I don't think anybody outside a very closed circle actually know if the owners do or don't have money to spend; they profess to having money, but who really knows?

As for spending any in January, whilst it is obvious we need a striker or two what won't completely add up is if they actually do go out and buy them.

Prior to the season starting everybody knew we were light in the striking department, yet we didn't really buy anybody (Borini?), and even the one target that looked nailed on (Dempsey) wasn't what you would call highly priced, so what makes anybody so sure that the owners will buy in January given limited player availability, and those who are available are invariably overpriced, and couple with the fact that the footballing world know we are pretty desperate so they probably "jack" the price up even more.

It may well be a long winter?

'Seems like we are in the same situation as before'

Have a good long think about that.

Cisse cost Newcastle £9 million last January and was the then golden boot holder in France.

Some consider him to be very good business and he was keen on Liverpool for a time and didn't care about Champions League football as a basic criteria for him signing as evidenced by his signing for the Magpies. {Ed001's Note - he came from Germany, not France, and certainly wasn't the holder of the French Golden Boot award at the time.}

January is going to be very telling. If we struggle to sign a proven striker, as is possible given recent transfer dealings, and still don't recall our England man then the money problem must be worse than we thought. It was such a mistake to let Carroll go without even trying him or replacing him (or Kuyt or Bellamy) that I'm guessing saving on his wages was the motivating factor.

NNice to see your Bullsh*t detector works just fine ED001

I can tell you one way of making more money available...get shot of Ayre...problems solved! ;)

Papers suggest we have 10m to spend watch out chelsea and the mancs here we come with are really ambitious owners who really want to get to the top of the game were we belong.tommy Irish Red

Why all the clamour for getting Carroll back. He has not scored a goal for them yet. Not the answer.

I'd love Carroll back. But in reality it ain't gonna happen

We are poor but with carrol in the team we are worse

I think it obvious we don't have money. Loan signings about all I think we can hope for.

If we only had £2m to pay for Dempsey how will the owners/club made more since September even though they got rid of more players than came in along with reducing the wage budget. Personally think we will see cole and Henderson both out on loan with nothing back in.

Tbh the owners are just big talkers like the last lot, they said we could compete with any club in the world.......clearly not the case, they should have kept quite....

With Carroll in the team at least we have a plan b. how can we be any worse with Carroll

Hey ed's! A lot of rumours going around today that Joel Pohjanpalo is close to joining the club, have you heard anything about that? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed001's Note - he has been making comments about it being a dream move and how much he wants to join. That is where the story comes from.}

Oh okey, cheers mate! So no interest from us at all? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - Borussia Monchengladbach have put an offer on the table for Pohjanpalo and I understand that Rubin Kazan are still keen. I am not convinced about the reported interest from Liverpool.}

It was being talked about in london monday, about the possibility of a move to anfield {Ed001's Note - the lad himself said that a move to Liverpool would be a dream move, but he rejected our previous offer, so it is difficult to know if he is just trying to drum up a new one or not.}

A mate of mine who is a Burnley fan raves on about their striker Charlie Austin. I've not seen much of him to be honest but do you think he is worth a look at? {Ed002's Note - Burnley's Charlie Austin is being considered by Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Celtic.}

18 goals already this season

Saw him at Swindon, hes a natural old fashioned striker, similar to Alan Shearer but quicker.

He is a CHAMPIONSHIP player

Yeah and Rush was at chester, keegan and clemence at Scunthorpe.

Question for eds. Do you believe Liverpool have genuine interest in Heung-Min Son? Any rumours of what he might cost?

also do you know of any interest by Liverpool or anyone in Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik? Only team i have ever heard linked was Borussia Dortmund.

Thanks.

Lee {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs, possibly including Liverpool, have been looking at Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion. I would doubt he will be available for a January move.

Arkadiusz Milik has attracted the attention of Hannover, VVV Venlo, Everton and Udinese.}

eds, do you know what happened to that andy polo from peru. {Ed002's Note - He is still at Universitaria.}

Great talent on Football Manager ;)

Didn't an Italian team sign him (Genoa?) and loan him back to Universitaria?

The move gets completed in January.

Liverpool are finally set to sign HJK Helsinki striker Joel Pohjanpalo after returning with a renewed contract offer for the 18-year-old, who scored 19 goals in 34 games for

Nemeth,N"gog, Babel, Insua.....don't we learn from our mistakes?

Only Shelvey and sterling have shone..that too, for Shelvey it took accidental Loan Spree..Just buy a proven poacher already.. Tired of this ''One for the future'' buys...whats the use if we are still a 2-man team in all competitions?

01 Nov 2012 08:51:18
He is being bought for the academy dont be so ignorant to think Rodgers will only look for him as his Striker.

You cant compare Pohjanpalo to Ngog, insua or others. He is special talent and if he come in he will play along first team.

Is he any better than yesil or morgan ? would hate for the bottle effect to happen again.
