Evening Ed, 2 players I would like to see arrive, amongst others, would be Vertonghen and Park Chu Young (of whom I think you are a fan). Do you think either are likely?
Thanks

Chris in Tamworth {Ed013's Note - We have interest in both but man city are reported to be close to signing vertonghen}
----------------------
Good evening Ed013, sorry I thought Ed002 was still on (I think he is a Park Chu Young fan) if Vertonghen is city bound who do you think may be a more attainable signing at CB? Kjaer maybe or Cahill or Dann (even though I've heard he is off to the baggies) or is there another name we should be looking to?
Thanks

Chris in Tamworth {Ed013's note - Kjaer and dann are both LFC fans so both would be interested but we are more interested in dann according to reports. Also cahill will not happen}

Good evening Ed(s)
Just wondering whether or not to read into this Henderson rumour. My policy was to wait until any recognised paper or names backed the idea, and now the Guardian are runing the story of firm interest. Read anything into this ED? In my opinion a cracking buy can see him being a star for England and LFC.
Thanks
Glov3z the Red {Ed013's Note - It would be a good buy but so many mixed messages from different people and it is a twitter rumour not likely to be true}

hi i am from ireland and was talkin to robbie keans cousin and he said he is on his way back for around 5 mil as back up waht do u think

Apparently a deal for Elia was done ages ago and he will sign this summer.

01 Jun 2011 23:30:29
Just to let you know what I have!!!

My brother in law was at Leon Ozzies 30th birthday and was speaking with Baines. Him being a mad red asked if he would be joining the might reds under KK. Baines reply was a simple "No, I couldn't do it, I could not move between the two clubs".

The other is that I'm a good mate with one of the 1st team medical staff at Wigan, He told me after they stayed up that the only deal to be agreed at that time between the two clubs (LFC & WIGAN) was N'Zogbia.

He has heard nothing of any deals with Mcarthy but said that does not mean it won't happen. He knows all the players well and was 100% the N'Zogbia thing was a forgone conclusion.

Make of this what you want but it's what I have heard. I am digging ddep for more and will let you know when I get something.

Real Madrid are willing to sell Higuain for 15 million euros, would be a great strike partner to play alongside Carroll or Suarez.

Aguero. Aguero. Aguero. Forget him. Shane Long is the business. Just the type of striker we need, would compliment Carroll very well.

John henry and tom Werner are due in London within the next 48 hrs or so, they are to conclude some business talks whilst over here, but they will then take time to deal with some matters then relating to Liverpool, but in essence this to "meet" with comolli and a player..who will be introduced to the "main" players of fsg, who will then share their vision of where Liverpool are heading etc.

And I can confirm that after a few conversations I've had that a serious attempt to sign aguero is still being hammered out with his reps..

Mr Broughton

Is this the infamous Mr Broughton from last year who had all the inside info on the takeover and was convinced Sheikh Mohammed was nailed on? How can we believe you on this?

The simple answer? We can't

I have heard a few rumours that Liverpool are looking to move for Belgian youngster Kevin Du Bryune. Highly rated and being followed by several top clubs including Chelsea, But the reds recently signed an agreement with Genk which sees us get first option on him...which if what i hear is true, Liverpool are planning to take. Mavinga to go as part exchange. Hes highly rated and plays striker or just of the front man

Solo.

01 Jun 2011 23:05:35
Heard rumours saying we've agreed a deal to sign Downing (don't see how myself when they have no manager) & that we're preparing a £13m bid for Jordan Henderson but Sunderland are holding out for £18m+. Any truth in either of these?

01 Jun 2011 23:01:35
Aguero now 3-1 to sign. Surely must now be a 2/10 chance of signing him.
Tractor {Ed002's Note - No, 1/10 still.}

01 Jun 2011 23:01:24
is drogba linked with us?

01 Jun 2011 22:57:57
lfc are looking at richard dunne for 5 million would be a great signing if we got him for that also heard also heard we are looking at ridgewell for 6.5 million to strengten defence. two good signing and wouldnt cost to much.

01 Jun 2011 22:49:43
(please post on rumours ed) Do you think there could be any chance of Aaron Ramsey coming to liverpool. If Fabregas stays along with wilshere, nasri, song and even diaby there is going to be limited opportunities for him and personally i think he would be a quality signng for around 15m. He reminds me much of Xavi and Iniesta and with the likes of shelvey coming through along with spearing and rumours of Mcarthy coming in our midfield would be world class in the future. {Ed002's Note - I think it is most doubtful.}

01 Jun 2011 22:46:50
{Ed002's Note - If you mean Moukandjo, it is reported that he is being considered as an alternative to Gervinho. Park-Chu Young from Monaco would be an even better option.}

I know its reported but do you know of any interest me14

{Ed002's Note - There is no confirmation yet but I have enquired and may no more tomorrow.}

01 Jun 2011 22:43:40
Ed this player from Monaco we've been linked with called Moukandjo have you seen or heard anything about him? seems a risky going for a striker from a club who got relegated.

thanks {Ed002's Note - I refer you to my earlier answer.}

01 Jun 2011 22:39:48
eds, is it true that drogba could be on his way to liverpool with joe cole+cash deal? {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

this is **e***** speaking in response to this

FOWLER yes FOWLER only mite be coming back as a player slash coach. its the fourth time iv heared so thought ad just share it with every 1. av you heared any think reamote t this eds

redman {Ed002's Note - I am guessing that Fowler will not play for Liverpool again.}

i would like the editors to look in the archives as i stated sometime around 6 months ago that fowler was coming back to take up a position as a coach in the academy but was laughed at ed can you please confirm this

{Ed002's Note - The archives are there for all to browse - do it yourself.}

01 Jun 2011 22:16:19
I like Levezzi from Napoli. He caused us problems when he played against us in Europa and would be a cheaper option than Aguero...

01 Jun 2011 22:11:19
"Any truth to Dempsey coming from Fulham?"

Doubt it man. I know a good buddy of Clint's (played on same high school team) who said that his wife got a modelling gig in paris. He didn't know much about the sport but that's what he said. Either they're living apart for a bit or he could be on the move with PSG interested. And as an american I would LOVE him at LFC.

01 Jun 2011 22:09:35
ed, i know this is a liverpool rumors site but do you think chelsea will be given the money for aguero because they just spent 50 mil on torres nd man city have strikers coming back from loan, just sounds a bit stupid to through money away as easily as they have done .

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Chelse, like Manchester United, were unable to come up with an acceptable wage package.}

01 Jun 2011 22:06:09
We should do all that we can to get Lukaku, he is a future world beater. He has skill, pace, strength, intelligence and charisma. What's lacking? The only set back is the hefty price tag, maybe £25million plus!

01 Jun 2011 21:50:35
I am now starting to convince myself that Aguero is coming to us. Just seen some pics on the net of him spending some time here at xmas with Maxi and starting to think maybe these rumours could be true as he is obviously very close with Maxi just probally boils down to if Kenny is wanting him if they are that close why wouldn't he want to play in same team as his mate makes sense to me what u think?

Where has news of this henderson deal come from??? I thought he was playing well before his international call up but dipped like jarvis still where would he fit into the midfield

01 Jun 2011 21:47:40
ed i have been watching Benjamin Moukandjo the player we are linked with as a backup striker, from what i have seen he is fast agile his finishing needs improvement but he reminds me of edebayor when he first arrived at arsenal he just needs to find his feet. compared to ngog, Benjamin Moukandjo is waaay better than him from what ive seen all he needs is training on his finishing and he could be good. what do you think eds {Ed002's Note - See earlier answer.}

Macca, with Kenny saying he'll let Gulacsi go on loan, does that mean that Friedel will be coming in? {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Friedel is set for Spurs and not Liverpool. Perhaps Macca can correct me if I'm wrong.}

We are not getting friedel we are going to sign Nikolay Mylahov for 2m buy back prce between us and fc twente as we sent him on loan cos he cpuldnt get work permit then we sold him with optin to buy back , and no he has done well for club and country and has a work permit for uk. He has said he wants to come back and fits the fsg policy of buying younger players with potential.

Liverpool have agreeded a deal to bring in downing, my uncle works as a ground keeper at villa park thats where my info is coming from

01 Jun 2011 21:29:15
hi eds i just wanted to know are we close to any signings or do we have to wate a few more weeks
Brian YWNA {Ed002's Note - I suspect there are a couple of deals that may be concluded soon - but it would be guess work to say any more.}

Liverpool to release Cole, N'gog and Poulsen?

-------------------------

Do you genuinely believe cole or ngog are gonna get released when they could easily be sold cheap.

01 Jun 2011 21:31:49
I truly believe that mata will be a liverpool player and also that we are really close to Aguero, my source ( a bit of a sado hangs around at melwood for 30mins or so (amateur photographer) to see what's up and he said he may have seen the two players mentioned, nothing concrete but it's a start and atleast hes not saying he definetly saw them so

Mr Botros

01 Jun 2011 21:14:23
hey ed, i saw on revista de la liga a while back, ballague talking of the possible sale of one the madrid forwards, he seems to think that benzema is gonna be staying and thinks it is more likely that higuain would be the one sold, due to the politics of benzema being a board signing rather that a managerial one. do you think if he became available he would be looked at? if as expected aguero moves to real then surely one of higuain or benzema would be looking to move on, and i reckon both would be a huge hit in the epl.

matt 27 {Ed002's Note - I refer to earlier answers.}

01 Jun 2011 21:12:45
Erik Lamela is a player I have just seen us linked with any of the eds heard this or no more of him from river plate I think? {Ed002's Note - May leave River Plate this summer - likely destination is Italy with strong interest from Roma, Napoli and Palermo. I don't know of any Liverpool interest, but would be an excellent buy.}

01 Jun 2011 21:05:41
hi eds, great site, it seems to have gone quiet over the possible recruitment of Arda Turan , just looked at some previous news on him and his agent hinted that he could be available this summer as he only has two years left on his contract and we could get him for £15 mill . The guy has got good skills and he suits F S G criteria just wondered if you had heard anythin ed.......Welshred {Ed002's Note - Arda Turan looks Atletico Madrid bound. Talks have been going on for a while and he will move this summer. Dortmund apparently, remain interested but Villarreal have dropped any interest that they had. Spurs have dipped their toe in the water over the player and I suspect Valencia are keeping a watchful eye on matters. I am surprised that Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

Liverpool left-back Chris Mavinga is wanted for another year at Genk, after helping the Belgian club win the league this season.
The 20-year-old Frenchman moved to Genk on a six-month loan deal back in December and has done well during his time in Belgium.
Genk manager Franky Vercauteren has been impressed with the Anfield rookie and talkSPORT understands he has approached Liverpool asking to have Mavinga on loan for another season.

There are some amount of rumours flying around ( especially twitter) about aguero today and the odds have dropped from 5/1 to 3/1 . Rumours also say weve been onto his agent?? Heard anything eds? {Ed001's Note - I haven't no, but the difficulty has never been in paying his transfer fee, it has always been his wages that are the problem.}

01 Jun 2011 21:01:48
just out of interest who thinks that kelly should play right back with johnson on the wing infront of them, as both can defend and get up the wing they could swap roles if needs be ei when we are getting countered. makes sense to me.

believable for agree and unbelievable for disagree?

onto the rumours mata is the top target for the left wing however is looking unlikely. Kenny also rates downing elia and mcgeady. marveaux to join defiantly

i am also told that liverpool are still interested in dann and if bought kariakos will leave, agger to be giving one more season to prove he isnt injury prone.

no new striker to be bought as carrol has not been bought for 35 million to sit on the bench and suarez and kuyt have that special connection

Peter Gulacsi is set to go on loan from Liverpool so he can further his development in a first team environment.

The 21-year old Hungarian gloveman spent most of the season as Pepe Reina's understudy at Anfield but according to the player's management agency, he will be on show at this summer's Toulon tournament so clubs can have a look at his talent.

"We're not surprised (at the high number of interested teams) because Peter has been considered as one of the best of his age in international football, " said agency owner Tibor Pataky.

"We can't say which clubs are interested but we can say that seven teams indicated that they will travel to France in order to watch him live.

"These clubs are from England, Germany, Holland and Belgium. The most likely possibility is that Peter will spend the season at another club, but it's still a question if in England or out of England.

"Of course the final decision will be made by Liverpool. But we're not worried about this as his career has been managed very gently. They see his values and also his high potential."

ED have our chances improved off signing Mata in recent days, thanks,

Conor {Ed002's Note - I suspect that in order to get the best deal, Valencia may want to wait (a) to see if Barcelona show an interest; (b) until after the Under 21 Championships where he could well put in a very good performance.}

Ed002 - Do you honestly believe how Mata performs at the U21 Championship will make any difference to a buying club?
Do you not think Barca, Lpool etc etc not know this guys capabilities?
Clubs will wait to after the Championship so he aint injured and nothing else mate

{Ed002's Note - It would be naive to think the clubs do not take a hard look at players at European Championships, World Cups etc.. It may not make a difference to Liverpool or Barcelona who have already been closely watching the player, but perhaps it will ignite interest from someone else as well?}

Messi Rooney Torres all these player's did not score in the WC, my point is big players dont always preform on the big show, so dont take anything from the U21 Championship, Ed correct me if im wrong but was'n Babel player of that tournament a while back

G

{Ed002's Note - Your point being that no clubs should go and watch players in tournaments. Fine. We may as well end it here as we will never agree.}

01 Jun 2011 20:22:26
Good job ed's, I read this rumour page every morning while I have my coffee.
I love the "done deal" posts, people can be so stupid, a done deal really can't happen until July 1st, why can't people realise this?

On another note I also tend to check the Fenway Sports Group page as they have a small Liverpool section in wich all the articles are written by Nick Coman, an assisstant editor for NESN. He seems to be realistic and doesn't post nonsense.
He states that both Hazard and M'Villa have opted to stay in Ligue 1. He indicates however that Diego, McCarthy, and Eljero Elia are possibilities. I would be happy with any of the above signings, especially Elia.

A happy summer for me:
Izzaguire, Mata, Elia, McCarthy

I don't feel a new CB in needed until we acquire European football, any thoughts would be appreciated Ed. {Ed002's Note - I concur but get trashed repeatedly by those who are convinced that Hazard will be at Anfield next year.}

Shane long to liverpool £3.2m

01 Jun 2011 20:16:32
heard 2 rumor recently. sebastian larsson could be a move for dalglish and canales who is worth 6 million ! what's their possibility ed's? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any firm interest from Liverpool in either player. Arsenal and Manchester City enquired about Canales as did Villareal. I suspect that the player has no interest in either a loan move or a move away from Spain.}

**JamietheRed**

The King likes attractive, attacking football. And that is what we will get! At home next season I think we will play a 4-3-3 and away the 5-3-2 we saw occasionally this season. Juan Manuel Mata would fit the bill perfectly for a forward trio along with Suarez and Carroll. He is a centre forward come winger and so would be perfect supply to Carroll. Dimitri Payet, a slightly lesser, but similar player would be perfect back up! Gerrard, Lucas and Meireles would be a very solid midfield with Jonjo Shelvey and Jay Spearing as well as Alberto Aquilani as a very good second string midfield. The ever present Carragher I would expect obviously at the heart of the defence along with a new centre back, left back and most likely Martin Kelly. Pepe in goals.

And away from Anfield I think Suarez and Carroll would start, The same trio in midfield would start and the same defence but with Flanagan at right back and Kelly filling in the extra centre back space, Pepe in goal.

Please Post in Rumours :)

Players being looked at (expect 2 or 3):

Downing/Young
Adam Johnson

Now in doubt, due to Aquilani's return:

"Didier Drogba has requested a transfer from Chelsea. Commoli has made contact and a deal looks imminent. Cole returning to Chelsea and a two year deal for Drogba."

seems an ok deal but i can't see Chelsea wanting J.Cole back :S. would like to see drogba for a backup but i doubt it.

eds, could you please tell me if you think 'Benjamin Moukandjo is up to standards to play for the reds? {Ed002's Note - I have not paid any attention to him recently but he has been a regular in the Monaco side the latter half of the season. I remember him at Nimes and he was stong and fast but rough around the edges - but he was very young then. He is not going to be a world beater right away but he offers a lot more than N'Gog. I think he would be a good buy.}

I see Sepp Blatter won the FIFA election today, i bet they didn't need a recount of the votes. And to think these crooks are more or less running football, its a wonder the balls don't get pinched at half time.

I see yet another name has been churned out of the rumour mill 'Benjamin Moukandjo' i've never seen the lad play, it's nice to see a new name.

LB Enrique, CB Dann, LW Mata, RW Perotti, LW(back up) Jarvis
CM Adam & Mcarthy, ST Gervihno total spent £60 mil
Ed what are the chances of these transfers? {Ed002's Note - All are viable in my opinion.}

01 Jun 2011 18:59:57
hey eds, what do you think the possibilities are of Karim Benzema coming to Liverpool? I think he would be a great asset to the club and with Madrid buying more strikers he may be forced out?! {Ed002's Note - It has come up before. Arsenal and Juventus did seem to be ahead in the Benzema stakes, perhaps Liverpool and Manchester United will declare an interest as well. This could be one that drags out all summer if he does indeed leave Real Madrid.}

01 Jun 2011 18:49:03
The new Signings for Us Next Season, Hopefully,
McCarthy
Young/Downing
Perroti
Cahill
Marveauz
Gerrard
Clichy/Izaguirre

NO STRIKERS. I think that these maybe enough to make us contend for the top places. Gerrard coming back will be a huge boost and KK can afford to rest him as we Already Have Spearing, Lucas, Shelvy and McCarthy if joins, Alot of less pressure on Stevie G. There might be some relatively Cheap striker Brought in for backup. We need to Get rid Of Ngog. Eds please rate the chance of the above players joining us (:

01 Jun 2011 18:43:13
The latest news from my reliable ITK is that Aguero will definately NOT be joining Liverpool. The club has made rather tentative enquiries and were stopped short by Aguero himself stating that he isnt prepared to play for a team without european football. Liverpool were even prepared to offer Suarez in part exchange as he doesnt like life in Liverpool and wants a move to Spain.

On a positive note the John Carew and Sol Campbell deals should be wrapped up by the weekend.

if wer gunna buy some1 from south america i think lfc will do the business before the copa america starts, if are targets play well ther value will shoot thru the roof.just my apinion like thought i would give an apinion instead of sayin wer buyin aguero lavezzi naymar an messi to top it off

whos out of contract with LFC this month

01 Jun 2011 18:26:17
hey Ed, how about Shinji Kagawa? All this talk of us developing our Asian fanbase...what a signing he would be!!! Cracking player as well! What are your thoughts on this? {Ed002's Note - Kagawa would be a great buy but I suspect he will stay in Dortmund.}

01 Jun 2011 18:24:42
Some people on here are being very unrealistic. Some of the signings being mentioned (Barton, Downing, Enrique, etc.) are very unambitious and i would be very disapointed if we signed them. Last season some of these would have been good signings last season but i feel that the club should have moved foward from there by now. I believe that we need to be looking at players who would improve the team signficantly or provide better back up than we currently have. Players such as Aguero (we dont need him anyway), Contrao and Lukaku are completly unrealistic and won't sign.

Personally i think that realistic targets who would improve the squad include:
Young
Dann
Mata
Marveux
McCarthy (good potential but not worth more than £8M in my opinion)
Kranjcar (better option than the forementioned Diego)

01 Jun 2011 18:22:51
Firstly guys, Aguero is well and truely worth £39Million he has pace, skill and strength on the ball, much like Suarez. He can play as a striker and a winger, Again much like Suarez, he sets up goals for fun just ask Forlan :) who i am sure has spoken to Aguero about playing up front with Suarez. When we sign him he will also give Kenny the option of going 4, 3, 3 as well. Imagine Suarez, Carroll, Aguero front line with Gerrard, Meireles and Lucas behind them. That lot going forward would beat any team in Europe, Oh and that would mean only buying Aguero.

Roll on next season YNWA 96

{Ed002's Note - No need for Mata and Perotti then either.}

Great sight Ed's im a realistic red whos led to believe that we will be getting adam johnson, jordan henderson, scott dann and a back up striker 1st time on the sight so there we go !!

Realistic Kopite Matty

Just to back up what has already been said,
mates from Sunderland area have stated Jordan Henderson has signed for you. All you need now is Charlie Adam and you will storm the Europa League in seasons to come.

01 Jun 2011 18:07:29
Are their any truth to the rumours that xabi is coming back? There are hints everywhere, plus there is a stupid rumour that we are gonna sell suarez in exchange for gervinho, i dont believe it one bit but hey its a rumour aint it.

01 Jun 2011 18:07:25
Hi ed, Indian Rajiv again!Gr8 Indian Liverpool supporter.I wish if KK goes for Thomas Muller.He is very talented and can play on both wings and forward.I think he is real future star and should prove better then Aguero.Ed what u think?and if KK goes for him how much he should cost us? {Ed002's Note - I refer to the answer I gave you to the same question about 15 minutes ago.}

01 Jun 2011 18:04:19
**Please post on rumours** Re my aguero rumour 16.29 n I said Valencia not athletico, long day at work genuine mistake, i kno my footie, don't want Ed02 to make me out to b sum kind of idiot, just wanted to clear things up, I am daily poster, not that the Ed's notice as bin talking about aguero/athletico since mid may.

Jimbob {Ed002's Note - I don't think you are an idiot Jimbob. But you will appreciate that with the mass Aguero posts today and a source quoting Aguero as being a Valencia player, you will appreciate that folks find it hard to believe. Tomorrow looks like being a Pastore day so we will have all moved on by then.}

01 Jun 2011 18:03:27
Macca, with Kenny saying he'll let Gulacsi go on loan, does that mean that Friedel will be coming in? {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Friedel is set for Spurs and not Liverpool. Perhaps Macca can correct me if I'm wrong.}

01 Jun 2011 18:03:23
Question for the ed, what do you think of Muniain?

My opinion is that he's a tricky player with bags of potential but is small and a little easy to knock over. Worth a bid? How much do you reckon we'd have to pay for him? {Ed002's Note - He has previously been looked at by Liverpool and there is talk after having such a good season one of the larger Spanish sides getting interested. I suspect he would be £12M and up.}
----------------------

From what I've seen, that would be a bargain!

01 Jun 2011 18:03:18
Im a liverpool fan and i font see the point in spending 45million on another striker ( Aguero )
I would rather we spent 45million on a winger ( Pastore )

Edd Would like your opinion on this statement Please

LFC 4 Life {Ed002's Note - Pastore is not a winger I am afraid. Pastore may well be moving this summer - it seems to be on/off week-by-week. Palermo is a difficult club to deal with (to say the least) and money is not something they are short of. They crave success and I would not be surprised to see him stay another season. Juventus have were knocked back a while ago with their standard offer of €20m in cash plus Raffaelle Palladino, Amauri and Sebastian Giovinco in exchange, on loan or in part-ownership as part of the deal. Chelsea are looking for a long-term replacement for Lampard and Manchester United are looking for a long-term replacement for Scholes. Whilst he is not top of Chelsea's transfer list, they are still interested and will keep a watching brief after having a bid of €40m turned down. The other rejected bid that was publicised was certainly from Manchester City and included cash plus an unnamed player going in the other direction - I suspect Adebayor. Liverpool had shown an interest before Christmas but will struggle with the price - which if he is sold is likely to be the highest of the summer. Atletico Madrid are also interested but I suspect that they will be priced out of the market.The fee will be in the region of £50M or a part ownership deal may well be negotiated. If I had to suggest a destination Barcelona, one of the Milanese clubs (but they have potential non-EU player quota issues) or an outside chance of Chelsea.}

01 Jun 2011 17:57:56
hi ed, Indian Rajiv is back with this site again.I m not spreading rumour here but i want to ask that why not KK goes for Muller as Bayern is on a complete overhaul of squad and Muller fits very well in Liverpool system.he can play on wings and very good striker.Also got the habit of scoring and very young.What you think ed?

Indian Rajiv {Ed002's Note - As a regular in the Bayern side and at 21, I expect Bayern are looking to build around Muller rather than sell him.}

01 Jun 2011 17:55:49
One player no one has mentioned is Marik Hamsik. Quality and not too dissimilar from stevie g. He is young and already Slovakia captain. Could be a great addition. I think ultimately the players we will sign will come out of left field. KK keeps things very quiet.

01 Jun 2011 17:55:04
sorry but stop dreaming aguero is not going to liverpool !!!! he is uncle is mardonna who is friends with mourinho so stop dreaming even if he is a fan im sure that not being in europe is really going to catch his eye
WE NEED TO STOP DREAMING

01 Jun 2011 17:53:46
from a source in spain states that liverpool will bid 40 million for aguero in the next few days will we get him please reply ed

{Ed002's Note - Refer to earlier discussion.}

01 Jun 2011 17:53:36
We are signing.
Charlie Adam
Carlton Cole
Shaun Wright Phillips
Mathieu Valbuena
Scott Parker
Joey Barton

We will defo get in europa league next season la's. {Ed002's Note - With Barton I am assuming you will not be planning on getting in via the Fair Play League then?}

01 Jun 2011 17:52:16
The players that will sign will be Mata , perroti , marcelo and luakau total spent is 50-60 m ynwa

LFC doesn't need Aguero needs both wingers CM and LB.

{Ed002's Note - I concur.}

Maybe if we bought Aguero, we would not have a need
to buy both wingers. He can play both winger and striker positions successfully.

to the chap who said aguero is average he's still a kid and has scored 125 in 290 its not exactly average is it, i personally don't want him i'd rather get lavezzi who i think is more suited to the prem.

01 Jun 2011 17:43:20
Hello ed, Apart from marveaux how many wingers will we sign and pls suggest names. and also regarding midfielders how many will we sign. I honestly think one is enough. But we were linked with 4-5 of them. PLS reply {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are linked with rather more than four or five. It would be guess work to name those arriving but there is serious interest in Perotti and Mata. How this could be impacted by the availability of Stewart Downing I don't know.}

01 Jun 2011 17:43:03
I would love to see Kranjcar at Anfield next year. Would be a quality addittion and cheap too!x

01 Jun 2011 17:36:57
very good source tells me Liverpool went after Gervinho but that he has choose Arsenal. has also told me Hazard rumour has no legs will either go to Inter or stay put.

i've heard nothing about Juan Mata but i'd be well happy if he signed, young classy winger and just the type of player were crying out for - hope we try an get him early before someone else does..

SMc

p.s. whens aguero signing anyway?

01 Jun 2011 17:36:14
I'm I the only one who thinks Sergio Aguero is not that special he's a okay player but nothing amazing. I think his goal scoring record is p!ss poor, his general play is not to the standard that you would he is a team player. He is not even a regular starter for Argentina let alone get in the squad all the time. We don't need him, I don't want him and we have a fantastic player in Luis Suarez who I think is 1000 times better than Sergio Aguero. Plus his 40 million price tag, astronomical wages our the biggest waste of a very cute transfer budget we could do. If Comolli, like everyone says bases his targets on stats. Then Comolli should stay well away.

So please stop the Aguero rumour because believe me there will be more dissapointed people in Liverpool if we signed Aguero and not someone like Charlie Adam and wasted our budget on one AVERAGE player like Aguero........

Please post this eds

I will wait for the backlash

Thanks

MarkoLFC85

---------------------------------------------------
Well, if you expected a backlash it will not come from me. I generally believe that if you pay more than 25 million for a player, you take the risk of having a guy who even when he produces might be still labeled a flop. However, Aguero is not average. You might not like his style, or you may question how he would fit; but to call him average is imo a mistake. And when you have Messi, Higuain, Di Maria, Lavezzi, and Maxi (just kidding!) to compete with; you won't start every game!

Personally, i think Aguero And Coentrao Rumours are hopeless.
What, i think the Possible Signings are:
Downing
Young
Marveaux
McCarthy
Barton
1 Quality CentreBack

There would be one Marquee signing in my opinion, although i dont know who. WONT BE AGUERO OR COENTRAO :P

I dont think KK will sign any strikers

I absolutly agree with you!

01 Jun 2011 17:20:22
you seem certain that we wont get Aguero. Why is that? I wouldnt say its as unrealistic as you think, we got Suarez when we had slim chances of European football, and Aguero is a LFC supporter. LFC is able to spend big, so why not start with Aguero? {Ed002's Note - I guess you have not been reading what I have said. There is a chance, but at the moment Liverpool are not doing anything to get a bid on the table. Both Chelsea and Manchester United failed to put a package together that was acceptable to the player after discussions with his representatives. Juventus then spent two days with his representatives and whilst we don't know whether they came up with the right package for the player, but they did make an offer to Atletico Madrid, which was rejected. I don't see Chelsea going back with another package for the player just yet. I would not yet entirely rule out Real Madrid regardless of what has been said. Again I am not so sure Manchester United have completely removed themselves from the equation after failing, like Chelsea, to put a package together that would be acceptable to the player. Now we have Aguero and his representatives trying to get Roma and Bayern Munich to make a bid. As we stand right now Liverpool are out of the loop. If they wish to get involved they know what they will need to do but I would suspect there is only the slimmest of chances of him moving to Anfield. It is all about money.}

hi eds, just wondering, about 1 or 2 weeks ago diego was declared or top target by dalglish. but all i hear now in terms on cm's i adam and mccarthy. is it possible that diego is being kept quiet to keep other clubs uninterested or do you think he has snubbed us for another club because he looks godd and a potential bargain at 10-15 mil! TTWAR {Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Botofogo, Lazio and others will need to be beaten to his signature if Liverpool are going to get Diego. Whilst there is clear interest I don't know if Liverpool are any any sort of talks with the player himself - who is in Brazil. As an aside, I would question whether Liverpool should take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Certainly Wolfsburg have found a replacement to target in the form of Niko Kranjcar.}

You defenetly didn't follow Bundesliga 2010-2011. Diego saved his team from rel.

{Ed002's Note - But he walked out on them on three occasions this season. The point being he is a troublemaker.}

corrieredellosport.it :

Translates (via Google) as:

Aquilani Juventus and closer, "Yes, it should be" The prosecutor of the Liverpool midfielder: "Next week the Bianconeri fix his situation
TURIN, June 1 - Aquilani is close to Juve. The midfielder, owned by Liverpool, will have to wait another few days before we can toast to a final confirmation in black and white jersey. "Alberto unless complications remain at Juventus, " said his agent Franco Zavaglia to Unico Grande Amore. "I have experienced first hand the deal with Liverpool, I know what are the bases for the repurchase by the club. The rumors for Inter and AC Milan are interested in Aquilani daughters of entries in my opinion not substantiated by facts. "

Picking out the meat from the bad translation!!! looks as if Juventus is all but done for him?

Higuain is apparently available for £15 million to pave the way for aguero, if this is true i think we should deffo make a bid for him.
Ed, do you think there is a chance he would come to us if he was available? {Ed002's Note - This was mentioned to me about a week ago and my understanding remains that Higuain will become available if Real Madrid sign Aguero - and if that is the case then he will likely head to Turin. However, putting all thought of any £15M price tag out of your mind, there is no reason that would stop Liverpool bidding and being considered.}

Insua has said 2 a friend that aguero wants Lfc to meet valencia's valuation & he will talk personal terms with us. From reliable source that gets more right than wrong, not the papers rubbish, but take it with a pinch of salt, just sharing info.

IMO aguero remains a chance n been saying so on this site since mid
may.

I think if Aquilani comes back to Liverpool then Kenny will work his magic on him and I believe he could be a very good addition. Remember before Kenny took over certain players like Johnson, Lucas and Spearing got slated by many fans and look what half a season with the king has done for them.

Have faith King Kenny will make the best choices for LFC...

i think liverpool should keep Alberto Aquilani, and give him a chance i think he would be a really big threat behind carroll and suarez... and behind him merieles and gerrard with 2 good wingers on the side of him. all round with him on the pitch we would have a great season i reckon

01 Jun 2011 16:20:03
Guillem Balague:
The facts are that Juan Mata could leave Spain if a club makes a bid in the region of 18 22 million and the player would find it be unlikely to turn down the move if the bid came from a top Premier League outfit. That might happen, it might not.

Worth a shot IMO !

Afternoon Ed's,

Does anybody know when all our loan players finish there loans (Insua, Aquman, Degen El Zaha, Konchesky)
And KK will consider using them next season?

Thanks,
Markolfc. {Ed002's Note - The loans have ended but I expect some will be sold, some will be evaluated or returned to the squad and some will be released.}

Ed are we signing McCarthy or was it all just a made up story because Dave Whelan said earlier that nobody has bid for McCarthy .... Ed do you think we are in negotiations and he is trying to hide that fact that we are or are we really not in negotiations ? thanks mate. {Ed002's Note - As I said previously, there is confirmed interest but I know nothing of a bid at all.}

01 Jun 2011 16:04:22
I am sorry but all the people who are giving their opinions on players we should buy are very good targets and ambitious, which is good, and then they say Izaguirre and Enrique and Barton !! KK and DC are going for the best of the best players in the world as Kenny stated. FSG are also looking for players of the highest caliber and are willing to provide us with the riches, or else they wouldn't have bought the club for hundreds of millions.
I think that KK and DC will be masters of negotiation and persuasion. People are saying we have to start off buying the likes of Enrique or Izaguirre or Barton, these players will get us nowhere.
Kenny stated himself he will only be getting players of the highest caliber.
Expect very good players to come in and stop dreaming of Izaguirre and Enrique.

Great site by the way guys, keep it up !!

"My college exams start the next day and I don't want any other concerns.

"I'll be going to one of the top two or three clubs in England or else I'll stay at Anderlecht.

"I want to leave because I want to score goals in a stadium where there are 50,000 people and play in the Champions League."

frankly speaking i m glad that he isn't coming to us....30 mil for an unproven player let alone a 17 year old...no thank you

It was early morning today when I was walking in Madrid, near the Vicente Calderon (a magnificent stadia, I must say) during my 3 day tour there.
A black Cadillac parked about 8 metres from us (me, my brother and mother-in-law.

As the (left side) doors of the vehicle openned, with two men about to get off, suddenly came 4 running young men who being chased by 3 guards.
They sped past us and, as the two men in the Cadillac were about to make their way out of the car, two of these young men tripped and crashed into of the man emerging from the back of the Cadillac.

The man fell very hard and dropped his suitcase which smashed against... I think it was a steel bin.
The suitcase openned and it's contents, a couple of documents, got all over the place (it was quiet windy).

Strangely, one of the documents fell right on my feet.
As you would expect, I picked them up. I couldn't hold them firmly as the wind was blowing them in all directions and I was also carrying my baggage.
But I managed to see a few lines.
I'm not sure but I believe one of the things I saw was "Liverpool Football Club; Atletico; 45m; Sergio Aguero; cash".

Before I could read for more, the man who had fell, the owner of the documents, had quickly raced to me and grabbed them.
He was white, had black, neatly tidied hair and wore glasses.
He said something of this effect to me: " this is supposed to be a surprise, okay? So help me keep it that way. I know what you saw, but just, keep it hush-hush."

"Sir", I replied, pointing to my LFC shirt, cap and keyholder, "is Aguero going to be turning out in these next season?"
He smiled and said, "Stop asking questions. Know that you'll be delighted and thrilled 12 weeks from now, if of course you're what I think you are."

He buttoned his tuxedo and, with a fine French accent, "Walk on, friend."
He walked away, and entered the Calderon.

Make of this what you will, but I know what I saw.

Aguero to LFC?.... don't be so stupid! A more realistic target is Mata who will be available for £18m which I think is a steal. Whispers of Jordan Henderson joining after U21 tournament.
All other names linked are just rumours, although there does seem to be logic behind Scott Dann, Joey Barton & Charlie Adam being linked to LFC!

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool are about to make a bid for Fiorentina winger Juan Manuel Vargas.

The paper believes the Peruvian is a favourite of Damien Comolli s and the Reds are willing to pay as much as 20million for the 27 year old.

The amount the Reds would offer would be hard for Fiorentina to refuse according to the paper. The player, who can also play at full back, has been interesting Manchester City as well in recent months.

Arsenal and Chelsea target Philippe Mexes has still not ruled out a summer move to the Premier League (talkSPORT)

Even though this is not a Liverpool rumour i am posting this to show how wide of the mark some rumours can be from well know sources.

Mexes agreed to sign for AC Milan some time ago, and it was also confirmed by the club alongside Taiwo a few weeks ago.

Good afternoon everyone, heard a good rumour about encouraging talks with Mata's agent. Dont know when they took place but I know that they were 'positive'.

Also, cant comment on the reliablity of this one but we are interested in both Hummels and Subotic but I am guessing that we would only sign one of the two.

Thanks.

Question for the ed, what do you think of Muniain?

My opinion is that he's a tricky player with bags of potential but is small and a little easy to knock over. Worth a bid? How much do you reckon we'd have to pay for him? {Ed002's Note - He has previously been looked at by Liverpool and there is talk after having such a good season one of the larger Spanish sides getting interested. I suspect he would be £12M and up.}

Scott Dann, Enrique, Marveux, Young, Adam, Barton and Aguero/Benzema to join Liverpool, Its going to be a big summer for us reds. These owners are exactly what we wanted, they have a winners attitude and are doing what ever it takes to get us to be the best.

Jovanovic, Poulsen, Insua, Aqualini, Konchesky, Ngog and Degen are all off.

Also we will see much more of the reserve players next season.

CraigLFC

remember the name.

Almost right son, but you take Barton out of the equation and replace him with either James McCarthy or Jordan Henderson. Also we won't be signing Aguero or Benzema, but a back up striker. There is one name that isn't in the list but will be signed either from Perotti or Mata.

Hi Ed's

Ed002, going back to my earlier comment this morning regarding Aquilani this has just been printed.

La Repubblica says new Juve coach Antonio Conte does not want Aquilani and has insisted he be sent back to Anfield.

Conte wants a more physical midfield option than the Italy international.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish hasn't ruled out keeping Aquilani for next season.

Liverpool are currently scouting CenterBacks but they are not yet making a move for any and will not make a move for any until the end of July at the earliest, they are waiting to see how Daniel Agger does with his recuperation, if he is fit and ready for pre season games they will not sign another CB this window as KK has faith in Carragher, Agger, Skrtel with Wilson, Kelly and Ayala ready to fill in if any injuries happen and for League cup an FA Cup games, KK doesnt want to alienate the youngsters by bring in another CB, making it harder for them to break through, he is happy with 6 players to play CB, 3proven an 3 youngsters

If Agger looks like he is gonna struggle for fitness for the start of pre season after a couple of friendlies KK will let him go (more likely to an Italian club) and bring in a replacement then, with Dann of Birmingham being favorite, but he also has to prove fitness before pre season, if he doesnt it will be Raul Albiol from Madrid

Pepe Reina insists the thought of leaving Liverpool never entered his mind.

Arsenal and Manchester United had been monitoring the highly-rated goalkeeper amidst fears at Anfield that he would leave due to discontent with the Reds' plight, both on and off the pitch.

But Fenway Sports Group's arrival as owners coupled with the return of Kenny Dalglish has seen Liverpool's fortunes take a significant upturn and, speaking in his native Spain, Reina reiterated his commitment to the club and contentment with life on Merseyside.

"I am happy at Liverpool, " he told MARCA.

"It is true we have had a great end to the year, but we have to keep growing.

"I am very happy and so is my family. I've never wanted to go."

Hi Eds. Wondering, i know we have a lot of midfielders as it stands but i know it probably wont happen but have to say if we got: Ramsey, Henderson and Mccarthy. Think in a few years we would arguably have the best midfield in the world if they all develop to their potential. I know we have Spearing, Stevie and Lucas but if you think Stevie will be retiring soon. Competition for places would be excellent. They are all players that fight for the shirt. Would definitely cover us for the whole of the season and we could easily be fighting on all fronts and for every trophy. Cheers Jamiekeyyyyyy

the only two wide men that liverpool should be pushing to buy are eden hazard and eljero elia! These two on either flank swapping flanks during games would destroy any team!! Mata over rated and perrotti wouldnt cut the mustard in premier league! Hazard £22m and Elia £18m. Charlie adam £7m and McCarthy £8m. Emilio Izaguirre £7m and Scott dann £7m are all being negotiated. Maybe a back up striker in either wickham, lavazzi?

01 Jun 2011 14:25:27
The Brazilian coming into Liverpool is actually Gervinho (but he is Ivorian) - smokescreen by KK due to all the times that obsessed Fergie pretends he is interested in our prospective signings to bump up the fee. Ashley Young anyone? Charlie Adam? I could go on.

After this I would take McCarthy, Dann, and a LB. And the only frenchmen named by Commoli that are worth anything are Sahko and M'Villa - Matuidi is worrying me.

ps Get Pacheco back and give him the chances Joe (Harry Kewell marque 2) Cole has wasted.

I don't understand the reason behind signing Joey Barton. He's 28, he's slow, his general play and all round game is okay but just not good enough and I can't see how he'll improve on the current squad we have? Not to mention his attitude is terrible on and off the pitch, which potentially could disrupt the atmosphere around the club that we have only just got back. Then there's the rumour that he's actually an Evertonian.

Don't get me wrong if he's signs he'll have my full backing, as does every player. But it just doesn't make sense at all to me. I guess that's why KK is in charge and I'm not.

The Jordan Henderson rumours are interesting - I think he's quality. As is James McCarthy.

Stone YNWA.

hink Sahko will be a no go now. PSG have been taken over by the Qatar Investment Authority. Doubt they will be selling their Prized assets.

Aguero will probably go to Real Madrid in the last week maybe even the last day of the transfer window. Atleitco have no power if the release clause is met. Everybody in Spain knows that when Florentino Perez says he will not buy a player it actually means he will.

Madrile o Rojo

Aguero will go to CFC or MCFC for 20-25m tops. Real didn't show serious interest in him.

He was not saying he would be arriving at the club but did say a bid was going to be put in for the player.

Apparently Liverpool are one of the 8 - 11 teams interested in Championship side Peterborough's Craig Mackail-Smith. 2 offers have been confirmed from the premiership and 1 accepted, however nothing will be decided until Craig gets backfrom holiday. I know he'd have no place in our starting 11, but 99 goals in 4 years for Posh has got to show something, any chance that we'll have him to replace N'gog?

If we're after some versatile winger types, we could do worse than have a gander at Josip Iličić from Palermo. Ed have you seen/heard anything of him? Quick, devastating skill, can go from left wing to central.

I think if we combined him with Suarez in a 4 3 3 behind a central striker they'd tear the league up.

Or even in a 3 that switch positions like we did at Birmingham - worked well there...

Take a look at him on YouTube - you'll see what I mean.

10-20 mil of anyone's money - preferably ours!! {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have looked at him before and there is a chance he may move to Inter Milan.}

01 Jun 2011 13:13:33

pretty unlikely i suppose.. {Ed002's Note - Right. 0/10 and 0/10.}

01 Jun 2011 13:08:12
eds what r our chances of gettin aguero {Ed002's Note - As for Aguero, both Chelsea and Manchester United failed to put a package together that was acceptable to the player after discussions with his representatives. Juventus then spent two days with his representatives and whilst we don't know whether they came up with the right package for the player, but they did make an offer to negotiate a fee with Atletico Madrid, but that was rejected. I don't see Chelsea going back with another package for the player just yet. I would not yet entirely rule out Real Madrid regardless of what has been said. Again I am not so sure Manchester United have completely removed themselves from the equation after failing, like Chelsea, to put an acceptable package together for the player. Now we have Aguero and his representatives trying to get Roma and bayern Munich to make a bid. As we stand right now Liverpool are out of the loop. If they wish to get involved they know what they will need to do but I would suspect there is only the slimmest of chances of him moving to Anfield. It is all about money.}

Liverpool have not had a bid accepted for Jordan Henderson. hi eds, just wondering, about 1 or 2 weeks ago diego was declared or top target by dalglish. but all i hear now in terms on cm's i adam and mccarthy. is it possible that diego is being kept quiet to keep other clubs uninterested or do you think he has snubbed us for another club because he looks godd and a potential bargain at 10-15 mil! TTWAR {Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Botofogo, Lazio and others will need to be beaten to his signature if Liverpool are going to get Diego. Whilst there is clear interest I don't know if Liverpool are any any sort of talks with the player himself - who is in Brazil. As an aside, I would question whether Liverpool should take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Certainly Wolfsburg have found a replacement to target in the form of Niko Kranjcar.}

Andy Carroll to leave, he was a 'shotgun' signing to show a statement of intent.... Back to Newcastle for £25m + Enrique.....we will sign Carlton Cole for £8m and Bendtner for £10m with Jordan Henderson for £12 and a couple of other signings.

It's pretty clear that LFC is in a tough spot this summer. We need to sign top players to help us fight for 4th place, but can't offer European football or massive wages.

With those circumstances it's obviouse KK is going to have to buy very wisely this summer. Forget about Ag ero, Coentrao or Lukaku, as those players wouldn't touch a non-European club with a wage bill ceiling.

KK might get one or two players of recognition; Young or Adam, but most of our signings will be unknown kids who won't cost much to buy or pay and who are keen to play for a top league spot. KK has eyes for both talent and passion for the game, so the players he brings in will likely be exciting ones. I have no inside info about who these players are but a few of the names mentioned in the last few days would seem to fit this mold, thinking Benjamin Moukandjo, Axel Witsel and Jordan Henderson.

What about wingers Ed ? Who is most likely and in your opinion who would be our best and most valuable buy out of them ? Cheers mate, {Ed013's note - who would be best are mata and perotti but more clubs are coming in for mata so chances are getting slim. The most likely would be perotti}

01 Jun 2011 11:49:12
ed, what's the latest on hazard? {Ed002's Note - Hazard signed a new contract with Lille and if he cannot get a move that suits him (Barcelona and Real Madrid were his preference) then he could stay and play in the Champions League next year. Juventus are very keen but cannot offer football at the highest level right now. Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, Spurs and Barcelona have shown interest or admiration for the player. I would not be surprised to see Manchester United throw their hat in to the ring as well. If he does move and I was pushed for an answer, I think he could end up in Italy, possibly at Inter. The recent Liverpool bid rumours seem to be little more than the recycling of the story of Damian Comolli asking to be kept informed of any movements for the player and this is several weeks old. If it were Arsenal or Liverpool I would say Arsenal.}

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to sell striker Gonzalo Higuain.

El Mundo Deportivo says Perez is putting Higuain up for sale at 15 million to clear the way for the arrival of Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid.

It's been suggested his decision will anger coach Jose Mourinho, who rates Higuain as the club's No1 striker.

But Florentino has never liked Higuain and has been trying to find a buyer for him since taking over from Ramon Calderon.

-> If that's the case we should defo go for Higuain!

What's happening with the Aquilani situation? Still negotiating with Juve, or pushing him around other clubs? {Ed013's Note - They are still negotiating but the two milan clubs have declared their interest in him as well}

01 Jun 2011 11:35:15
Latest betting odds...

C Adam 1/3 to sign for Liverpool
J Barton 1/5 to sign for LIverpool

KK could be the man to sort out Barton off the field. I personally would like him as I think he is an excellent passer of the ball and we should get him for 4/5million.

Ed just wondering do you rate Skrtel? I think he's good on his day but needs to have a good partner to compliment him. Asking cos he has been interviewed a lot on the official site lately

Keith YNWA {Ed013's Note - I didnt before this season but he is improving and the season just gone was his best by far}

01 Jun 2011 11:32:10
Think Sahko will be a no go now.

Good Morning Ed's

It appears Aquilani will be heading back to Anfield and will be part of our pre-season set up. With new backroom staff at Juventus it seems they don't see him as part of their plans at any price. I think its going to be a tricky sale, we still owe money on the player and trying to recoup even half of the £20m will be challenging. he was mooted with moves to Napoli, Fiorentina and coincidentally back to Roma. If we sell back to Roma, they will just see the debt is cleared on the player. I cant see any of these possibilities, i do rate him but he just isn't a premier league player. Would fit in well in La Liga but i haven't heard of interest from there. How do you rate the player Ed and have you heard similar stories regarding a transfer?

Adzii (north west) {Ed002's Note - I can certainly dispell any thoughts of the player returning to Roma just to cover the outstanding payment. There is no way at all that is going to happen as the amount outstanding is 5M. Aquilani does not want to return and Liverpool are looking to off load him. The situation is clear.}

--------------------------------------------------

The situation is far from clear. If Juventus dont want the player ad there is no chance of a return to Roma, what will be the potential outcomes? He may have no other choice than to return to liverpool for pre-season as i cant see many teams matching our valuation on the player.

Adzii (north west)

{Ed002's Note - It is very clear that Liverpool want to sell the player and there are options being looked at; but they are not going to let the player go for 5M euros as you suggest.}

----------------------------------------------------

I wasn't aware the fee was 5m Euros to be perfectly honest but the question i asked was where Aquilani could end up? Or do you not know?

Adzii (north west)

{Ed002's Note - I would not rule out Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli and a couple of others. The only club you can 100% rule out is Lazio.}

Question for ed 002 on benjamin moukandjo am i right saying he made 0 appearances for monaco since joining in january after signing from ligue 2 nimes surely this is a bad rumour.
DCG {Ed002's Note - I am sorry you would need to look up specific details but he has certainly played in most games and scored a couple since he arrived at Monaco. I remember him at Nimes and he was decidedly ok'ish.}

01 Jun 2011 11:19:52
Hi Ed's

Have you any info regarding other teams saying they would love to see Poulsen, Jovanovic or the other dead wood at their club? It would be nice to see two clubs fighting over some of these players, but I can't see it, can you?

I think getting rid of these will be tough especially at some of the prices that some people are posting on this site.

I also think that our new signings are dependant on how much money we can generate and not just money from the owners.

ANY INFO ?

Big Bill {Ed002's Note - I don't think there will be any problem selling Jovanovic but at least some of the money will be owed to the player. I am sure the club will listen to offers for Poulsen as well and no doubt KOnchesky and others will move on. I assume the club will also have discussed cancelling the contracts of certain players just to clear the decks a bit.}

Why oh why would we want joey barton hes a fouling ball of anger and played horribly against us! James mccarthy would be soo much better, one of wigams best players last year so much potential for a 20 year old your thoughts eds ? {Ed002's Note - We knew there was an enquiry made a while ago but I thought that was the end of the matter. I must admit to being shocked to see that the poster who saif Liverpool are 1/5 with SkYBet for Joe Barton was correct. I shall hang my head in shame if he signs as I said he wouldn't.}

I told this site that a lot of No.7's had been ordered for Suarez the day before, slaughtered for it, but I was right. Few things id like to tell you guys now:

-Scott Danns Reps where at melwood monday/tuesday.
-'positive' talks with Jaun Mata's agent have occurred.
-An agreement is nearly reached to capture Joey Barton.
-Charlie Adam will be a LFC player.
-Young will come to LFC to play 1st team football and fight for Champions League. Young has established himself in the England team and doesn't want to ruin that by playing second fiddle to Nani, Valencia Etc.
- Liverpool will join the race for Benzema if we fail to convince Aguero to sign for us, and Adebayor signs fully for Real Madrid.

I Know your are going to post saying 'Source?', but like last time im not throwing my ITK in the deep by doing this, Believe or don't believe.

Greats site Ed's!
Keep up the good work!

Ed, why is there still only a slim chance of mata when ed001 said the other day that after meeting with his representatives he would be happy to make the move. Surely we could pay the transfer fee and he wouldn't command a huge wage, is it just due to which other clubs are interested lessening our chances??

ToonRed {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest in Juan Mata, and Valencia are preparing for next season without the player. However, whilst there is known interest from Liverpool I suspect he may end up elsewhere as interest is also being shown by a number of other clubs. Barcelona may well also become interested at some point and if they do show their hand I feel he could move there. Manchester City were reportedly heading the queue but had an offer rejected. As such, it would not be entirely out of the question that Liverpool could push for the player and make a concerted effort to match any other offer; and then there is a chance Mata could join. In order to get the best deal, Valencia may want to wait (a) to see if Barcelona show an interest; (b) until after the Under 21 Championships where he could well put in a very good performance. So I very much doubt if anything will hapepn until the U21 Championships are over. But as I said, there is a chance.}

01 Jun 2011 10:33:20
Ive heard Kenny will make 4-5 signings this summer. It seems like 3 of those will be wingers, Liverpool need the highest of class in this department, there's no point in spending 35million on Carroll when the service is slacking. Ive heard Mata is top priority with Young (if we can sway him) if not leaving options open for Perotti and Elia. This will be enhanced by the free signing of Marveaux - the new Malouda.

Secondly, we will sign a left back. We have chopped and changed in this area a lot over the years, Kenny wants someone to secure it as their own. We are trying to get Enrique for £6-7 million, a worthy price for a player who has large potential. (Likely first signing) We are also looking at Juan Vargas, yet he would cost more.

Aquilani will come back, which is not a bad thing. He has a lot to prove and did have a productive season with Juve, I think he could suprise his critics this season.

Our last sign will not be a striker, Dirk Kuyt has proved this season that this is his best position and with wingers coming in, he will not get much game time. He will be strike cover.

Im not sure who the last will be, either a long term replacement for JC or SG as without these two players, we would be slightly lacking in their positions.

Outs: Poulsen, Cole, Kyriakos, Ngog, Konchesky as well as some of the younger players who have not shown as much potential as first expected.

01 Jun 2011 10:23:56
Liverpool rumours hey ed i heard liverpool are lining up a raid for monaco kid benjamin moukandjo he is from cameroon and is 22 years old we could get him on the cheap since they were relegated did you hear anything about this ed? Des {Ed002's Note - It was discussed yeaterday or the day before. Moukandjo was at Nimes and certainly never set the world alight. Gervinho would be much better.}

01 Jun 2011 09:57:30
Ed?

Out of 10 what do you think our chance of Javi Martinez would be?

And also here's a slightly different 10/10 to ask.

out of 10 combined what would be our chances of signing at least one of Aguero, Mata, Benzema, Javi Martinez.

{Ed002's Note - Martinez 0/10. It is impossible to answer the second question sensibly.}

Big shocker signing for Liverpool this summer will see Xabi Alonso make a sensational return to Liverpool for a fee of £26m!!!

Now that Fat Sam Allardyce has been appointed West Ham manager we can hopefully stop the rumors of Scott Parker joining us.

I think we all know that fat Sam has a disliking of Liverpool and I don't think he'll sell his best player to us which is good news as we can either get a younger player in or give players like Shelvey more of a chance

{Ed002's Note - It looks to me that you have gotten hold of Kenny's list some how. Pato, Aguero, Alexis Sanchez, Neymar, Hulk, Coentrao and a young lad from Scotland all moving to Liverpool this summer. Spot on.}

hahaha ok Ed02 your sarcasm is spot on too... when i heard it i couldn't even THINK why we'd need two strikers anyway.. but this comes from someone who told me about Konchesky signing and then also told me in november that torres will leave in january and all the money will be reinvested..

and NEYMAR for BENFICA (benfica want him not Liverpool... benfica just want money to be able to buy him and them sell him for a profit later.. so they will sell want-away Hulk) - i know this could be hoswash so i'm running it by you to get some feedback.. seems you disagree.. good enough :)

Oh and LFC to sign 4 players including the Scott so three of the ones i mentioned (according to rumors)
.. be nice man
cheers!

{Ed002's NOte - There is a similar chance of Neymar moving to Benfiv as there is of him moving to Liverpool. Nada.}

01 Jun 2011 09:31:58
Barcelona are reported going to clear out about 10 players including Bojan and Jeffren. I know we were interested in both previously, would be good to get 1 or preferably both. They would fit the bill of players we want to sign

01 Jun 2011 09:05:00
My friend is Scott Dan's cousin and he has said that Aston Villa and Liverpool have both enquired about his services. The price tag though is around £13 million. His girlfriend is from Liverpool also so would prefer him to move away from Midlands as his whole playing career has been there.
What do you reckon ED, good buy for the reds? {Ed002's Note - Sure.}

01 Jun 2011 08:53:41
Hi ed. For the money who do you think liverpool would be best in buying, Mata or Perotti? I think Perotti is a quality player, he's quick, skillful and a good all round passer. What has mata got that perotti hasn't? I personally think Perotti is a much better buy as he will be cheaper. {Ed002's Note - I think Perotti is more likely than Mata.}

Liverpool are interested in 3 young strikers starlets .
Yanis Tafer of Lyon(of a similar mould to benzema),
Giamparlo Boniperti from juventus(next alexandro del piero),
Daniel Villalva from River plate (tagged as the next falcao).
The idea is to snap up raw talent who are to become stars in the coming years.
Also-
Alex Smithies of Huddersfield is being looked at.
Lewis Holtby, Tommy Oar and Sotiris Ninis are others players being given serious considerations.
I have no information on the big players that we are looking to sign as my contact is a scouting dept who are out to look at fresh young, raw talent.

Heard from close people at anfield that liverpool are lining up £20-25 million for lyon LB/LW Michel Bastos

********************************
Bastos wants a move to Italy or Spain:
"I have always tried to improve my game and for that reason the interest from Juventus is very flattering, " Bastos told Tuttosport.

"Would a lack of Champions League football be an issue? We are still talking about Juve here and I still think the time is right for a change."

"I couldn't imagine myself playing for another club in France so my dream is to go to Italy or Spain."

"England and Germany don't interest me at the moment."

I take it thats that rumour put to bed

No he told me personally, after all i am his brother leo Bastos!!!

01 Jun 2011 08:12:51
I know we don't buy to make a point to others, we buy to add quality and bolster the squad but do you think Liverpool will spend big to show their intent. And ed who do you think out of those Liverpool have shown an interest in will be signed? {Ed013's Note - Adam, marveaux dann mata perotti}

(4) (1)

SO YOU THINK WE WILL SIGN 3 PLAYERS WHO PREFER TO PLAY LEFT WINGER

Liverpool are poised to sign defensive midfielder Vurnon Anita from Ajax in the next two weeks. Highly rated by Kenny and Suarez. fee will be about 15 mil.

01 Jun 2011 07:30:57
Hi fellow reds

You ed's biased for Aguero to madrid rumors? because you seem to dismiss him coming to liverpool and keep publishing posts about him going to Madrid... now why would be do that to Athletico fans? go straight to a rival club and spend time on a bench? i'd say he's a sure-shot to go anywhere BUT madrid

Anyway rumor has it that only 4 players coming in. 2 top players, 1 squad player and a youngster... Interest has been leaked in no less than 20-25 players to keep people guessing and that would stop other clubs going for our targets or trying to raise the prices we have to pay. We will buy quickly and early in the window and keep everything quiet...

Candidates for the 4 players, as mentioned over a period of time to me are;

Believe it or not..
PATO, he can play right attacking wing OR
Hulk, the 'Brazilian' mentioned in the press

Mata, Drenthe, Cattermole, J Stanislas, Xabi Alonso (unlikely), Sanchez, S Cazorla

The youngster is a lad from Scotland, don't know who.

Rolando (or is it ronaldo? i mean that Portugese fullback fellow), David santon (PX with Aqualani and 10+ million euros), Baines, Conetrao (Liverpool bit 18 Million Euros - about 15 million quid - for him, he expressed an interest and asked the club to negotiate. They told him he could move but the price was set higher and interest was leaked to drum up the price as the Benfica board want more money to sign some promising brazilian wonderkids... INCLUDING NEYMAR would you believe?)

Anyway, Porto are willing to let go of Hulk for a fee of around 35 million and are willing to get good players in return along with the money as they know no club can afford to pay his astronomical release clause while they know that the player also wants a move to a higher profile league in Europe (clause is 70 mill euros?)... Liverpool may be willing to do business but don't know any more than that... Hulk is seen as a better option than Aguero as he can physically cope as is obvious.

What is your take on this EDs? I'm reproducing the combined input from a few trusted sources over the course of the last week or two..

The red winger

Ps. sorry Ed. Got a bit long I'm afraid... {Ed002's Note - It looks to me that you hav egotten hold of Kenny's list some how. Pato, Aguero, Alexis Sanchez, Neymar, Hulk, Coentrao and a young lad from Scotland all moving to Liverpool this summer. Spot on.}

01 Jun 2011 06:25:32
Hi Ed's

Do you think that a better option for a back up striker would be Pablo Daniel Osvaldo (25 year old Espanol)
Argentinian

I have seen him a couple of times on LL and he has a good work rate and can finish. price 14 / 15 mill euros.He may be a better option than Benzema and Gervinho (dont know much about Gervinho would appreciate your input)

I am not going to mention him from Athletico cos (sorry about the caps but people need to hear it )
IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN PERIOD

REDFORLIFE {Ed002's Note - He is an option and Fulham have had a bid rejected. But I doubt the position of striker is the highest priority.}

01 Jun 2011 05:42:19
ed what's the possibility of iker muniain ? pls rate him. i wanna see him in liverpool !what a great talent. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have shown an interest but they have looked at numerous similar players. 4/10)

01 Jun 2011 04:39:41
Ed do you think liverpool will announce a signing this week ? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

01 Jun 2011 04:32:23
Ive posted a few times on here, and thought Id let you know about two players Liverpool have actually put a bid in for. Both play for Bilbao and are Martinez and Muniain. Don't know exact figure but guess about 30m euro region.

01 Jun 2011 03:25:42
Hey eds, considering we are looking at cheap players right now such as Perotti (8.5 m) , Adam (8m) McCarthy (8m) Dann (8m) as serious targets do you think deep into the transfer market we would be considering using the rest on one player? It makes complete sense to me. They will only spend a little on these players I have mentioned (and maybe enrique or izaguire) but maybe they will spend a lot of it on just someone like Aguero (don't shoot my head off I know it is unlikely) who is worth 40 million. Maybe we will wait to sell all our players that we want to sell and then buy the big named player afterwards?

I can see these guys coming:

Perotti, 8.5 million
McCarthy 8 million
Enrique, 8 million
Marveaux, FREE
Dann, 8 million

= 32 million.

Then if we sell all our players that we want=

Aquilani, 10m
Cole, 5m
Ngog, 5m
Kyriagkos 1.5m
Koncheskey 1m
Poulsen, 1m
Jones, 1m
Jovanovic, 1m
Irwin, 200k
Darby, 500k

= 26.2 million.

This means we will have only spent around 6 million.

Obviously we will then want to spend more money? Am I being realistic or just too optimistic? {Ed002's Note - There will certainly be support from the owners in the transfer market. But I am certain they will not be spending money just for the sake of it.}

01 Jun 2011 03:12:17
Liverpool are most interested in bringing McCarthy to our club rather than Adam. McCarthy is only 20 years old and is Irish. He is a central midfielder and has scored 5 goals in 50 odd appearances. He has much more time to improve and settle in than Adam would and he isn't as wasteful as Adam either. I think he would be a great selection for our squad. I think 8 million would be a good amount to pay for his services. In other news Liverpool have contacted Diego Perotti's football team Seville and has apparently upped his offer by about 1.5 million. Liverpool are battling with Juventus to secure him and if Liverpool beat Juventus to Perotti then Aquilani's price may be lowered for Juventus to buy.

T-Dog

i think number 10 would go to Aguero, and a pick of 11, 13, 14, 15 to mata and perotti

01 Jun 2011 02:45:14
hey ed wats you rekon on barton deal looks to me to be a done dea. also id love to see navas at liverpool u heard of any intrest {Ed013's Note - We are interested in navas but his home sickness is a problem. Barton is still just a rumour}

01 Jun 2011 02:42:57
As much as everybody hates Joey Barton, he can play and he is fairly hard, if these are the qualities KK is looking for in a player, then brace yourself everybody, because that's what we'll get.

"agree" - everybody deserves a 2nd chance, even Joey

"disagree" - no he doesn't.

Maybe playing for KK and Liverpool is what the obviously very troubled lad might need.

Why do people say Aiden McGeady is s**te? Hes quality! {Ed013's Note - not LFC quality}

Former world player of the year Ronaldinho has expressed his desired to move to a team in the premier league

"I enjoy watching the Premier League, and to be part of it would be a different experience itself"

This may give us further info about the Brazilian Kenny stated the club needed

{Ed013's note - they may have but that was my opinion. plus they have already said they need to lower the wage bill}

No disrespect Ed, but I do remember the owners saying that they wanted to actually extend the wage bill, they just thought that there was a lot of wages being spent on mediocre players (Maxi, Cole, etc.). They want those on big money wages who offer little to either take a smaller offer or go, money is no object to these guys if their interviews are anything to go off and will pay whatever it takes to bring the right players to Anfield. {Ed013's note - That is what i said they need to lower wage bill because of players like cole}

Sorry Ed, must've mis-read. What do you think of our chances of signing Blaise Matuidi? I do remember reading somewhere Comolli on about "stats" and that's how he came up with Suarez. He claimed Matuidi was the best passer of the ball in Ligue 1 or something and we were linked when DC came in. {Ed013's note - we are interested in him but no formal approach yet}

I think that having the likes of dalglish at the club, having dedicated and enthuastic owners, and Liverpool looking like they're on the up and therefore being able to offer Europe in the next couple of seasons is persuasive enough. If they have any sense then these players will see this and want to be a part of it. And Liverpool is now a place where they can enjoy their football too. I think Liverpool have a great chance of signing players they show interest in as long as they do it the right way {Ed013's Note - Well said mate this is true but a lot of players are based on money and i don't think the owners want to pay massive wages}

hi ed correct me if im wrong but i read somewhere the owners were willing to pay top wages but only for class players is this still the case do you think??

I know we don't buy to make a point to others, we buy to add quality and bolster the squad but do you think Liverpool will spend big to show their intent. And ed who do you think out of those Liverpool have shown an interest in will be signed? {Ed013's Note - Adam, marveaux dann mata perotti}

I'd like to see Young, McGeady, McCarthy, Adam and Matt Derbyshire. Think he looked great at Blackburn. Wasn't given a fair crack qt the Brum. What do you think of those, both likelihood and your opinions on them Please Eds. {Ed013's Note - 2, 1, 7, 6, 1 and they are good players except derbyshire and mcgeady are LFC standard}

r u serious?? mcgeady?? matt derbyshire?? yeah rite they are gonna win us the prem arnt they u dollard.
try some class players & then come back we are LFC

With comolli being french, he's gonna bring some french players to the club, and with Benzema not getting a game for Madrid, I can see us going for him... He's 23 and he's quality! He'll go for 20 mill!

Plus I heard A. Young meant of picked us over utd... 16 mill...

01 Jun 2011 01:51:33
Do you think anyone has already signed for us or are on the verge of signing? {Ed013's Note - no}

How do you rate Diego? And how would you rate our chances of getting him? {Ed013's Note - i think he is a very good player but his chances would be low at 3 as we have only registered interest}

{Ed013's Note - It would take a lot of persuading to get these players to come to Liverpool}

It would take a massive amount of persuading but I think Kenny Dalglish can sell a club like no other. I don't think we'll get Aguero but possibly couple quality players like Benzema, Mata.

You say it will take a lot of persuading to get the likes of aguero and benzema to come to Liverpool. So you think we could get them? {Ed013's Note - There is always a chance but i think it is very unlikely a 1/10 for them to join}

Would we have more of a chance if we could offer Europe? Or if we had a hotter climate? {Ed013's note - we would have more chance if we had Europe}

What strikers are Liverpool after ed? And what are our chances of gettin them? {Ed013's Note - rumours say we are looking at aguero and if we don't get him we will go for benzema}

01 Jun 2011 00:40:52
In my opinion Liverpool can get a player like aguero but his wages and the lack of European football may put both parties off. If aguero or some other striker does move to Madrid do you think benzema would come to Liverpool ed? I think he would be more likely {Ed013's Note - It would take a lot of persuading to get these players to come to Liverpool}

I hope to god we dont sign this gervinho because he has played for me for two seasons on fifa 11 and he is a load of s#ite. cant shoot straight, runs into players and cant pass the ball in a straight line. . . .

01 Jun 2011 00:26:11
Im guessing Liverpool will be busy with deals in the next few weeks as Kenny Daglish and Damien Comolli are still in the city and not on holiday like most people. I know this because i know Connor Coadys sister. Connor has just come back from a Carribean tour with the reserves and entered contract talks as soon as he returned. I know this because his sister has showed me the picture of him and Kenny Daglish taken at the start of the week when Connor signed on the dotted line to a long term contract.
Believe me with Connor Coady signing a long term contract the future is bright for Liverpool. Trust me when i say this kid is the new Jamie Carragher.

If kun goes to Madrid do you think Benzma will leave

G {Ed013's Note - Yes}

I think Gil Marin has stated many times already that He wont sell Aguero to Real Madrid.. Anyone else can meet the £39M asking price and make the offer and He is not willing to negotiate about the price.. {Ed013's note - don't be so sure Im just saying do not count real madrid out}

01 Jun 2011 00:17:28
I know speaking on good authority that Leighton Baines will sign for Manchester city or no one. Can't say who told me but i've left my name and email on the rumours form to give me some credibility. Unfortunately on a betting front, i wouldn't have my money on anyone other than city for the capture of Baines.

What's the latest with Adebayor and Madrid? I don't think Madrid will be able to keep 4 top strikers happy at once, as I'm sure they will buy another (possibly Aguero)

01 Jun 2011 00:07:20
i think liverpool should bid for titus bramble he has had a great season and for 5 million he would be a quility signing also think we should bit for odemwingie for me player of the season. ed out of ten what are our chances of signing these players? {Ed013's Note - 0, 1}

Presumably you ar an Everton supporter? Titus Bramble is possibly the worst PL defender I've ever seen - even worse than Lescott!

I just stumbled across an "article" about the highest paid players in the world.

Kaka comes in at 6th with a huge £7.9m per year.

For that reason alone, I'm out.

So ed if you don't think gervinho will move to us do u think aguero is possible? Or are there any other strikers Liverpool are interested in? {Ed013's Note - Aguero is very unlikely as I personally believe he will be at real madrid next year}
