Another injury, this time to Johnson. Jesus we can't cope with many more on the treatment table, our squad is down to bare bones as it is.

Eds Is there any truth in the Bertrand rumours? Is he more likely than Montoya?

Also I read that although we enquired about Tello, we have decided to move on and look at other options, cold this mean we are close with Salah or was it Tello himself who isn't keen on the move?

Thanks in advance

Believable14 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - Bertrand was enquired about, he is not seen as an option instead of Montoya, more of an option as well as. Tello is not keen on a move in a World Cup year.}

Why would Montoya be keen to move then? Both players are in similar situations. Compete for first team football at Barcelona, or compete for first team football at Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - because Montoya is not on the fringes of the Spain squad.}

They wouldn't really be competing for first team place, from what I have seen of him he is miles ahead of Johnson in his performance so would be my starting right back without a shadow of a doubt and would expect Johnson to move on in the summer if Montoya came in. And in terms of Bertrand yes he would be moving to compete but clearly cole is a level about Enrique and therefore would play more games and stand more chance at Liverpool, plus at Liverpool he would be guaranteed second choice but Chelsea he is also behind azpilcueta switching to the left

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry misread post, same point stands about Montoya though he would almost certainly establish himself at right back, personally can't see tello getting past countinho, Suarez, sturridge, salah (if signed) and would still have to compete with aspas sterling ibe and suso after that

Mata is obviously not happy. Has Liverpool shown any interest? Why not make a bid?

No chance

Agree0 Disagree1

He would be fantastic and a real coup.

To the person who mentioned that he would not leave L'pool for a non-champs league team - am I right in saying he would be cup-tied even if he joined one in it? Ed's please confirm or deny.

What happened to our internet in Matic?
We need a powerful midfielder

Believable4 Unbelievable22

{Ed002's Note - There has been no Liverpool interest in Matic.}

Ed002, do you think that's due mainly to cost of such a player at this time or wrong style of player?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - He is simply a player the club has shown no interest in. There are lots of other players the club has no interest in as well.}

Cool, cheers Ed2.

Eds and fellow reds, happy new year! Ed002, I appreciate if you just can't be arsed after all the Salah questions, so no pressure, but I have read the posts, and I was just wondering, is there any news on 'The Egyptian Messi'? Are we in talks with Basel, or do we just hold an interest? Cheers.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the interest of Liverpool for more than a couple of months.}

No problems Ed002, just wondering if there was any news i.e a bid/negotiations. Have a good new year.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is a significant differencein valuation at this time.}

Cheers Ed002
