some lads i work with are saying that they have read somewhere that the royal family of qatar are trying to buy man s**ted, if this does not happen they will look elsewhere in the prem, liverpool being one of the clubs they might look at, has anyone else heard anything about this because i havent

Molbys big toe

Wouldn't swap the current owners for the world... We need a team no t a bunch of players there for money.

We have awesome owners. Why will they want to sell LFC a brand sports team recognized world wide. LFC is not a toy for the Qataries to play and then when they are bored they throw the toy out of the stroller. FSG rules.

Well said

You need money to rebuild a staidum and invest to buy star player. FSG is good but not good enough. they done nothing to build a new grond as they dont want to invest money looking for name right what u gona say lets go and see the match in coca cola rather then say lest go to ainfield

More bs, dream on. glory days are over for long long time

Oil barons should be sharing the profits with its own people rather than giving several individuals £250,000 a week to play football. If ever LFC became a squad of mercenaries like City then sod it I would turn my back & walk away.

Qatar royal family have been trying to buy United for the last 2 years, few months back they offered as much as 1.2 Billion but it was turned down .. craziness on both sides if you asked me.. the prince is a united fan.
As for the above posts above about Good owners no need for mega rich and other sentimental bull.. I am the only one that feel the pain and jealousy seeing the likes of City taking our place in Europe , lets not fool ourselves they are the only contenders against United for the title, and will be there for few years .. Yes we have good owners but the damn reality is unless you break the bank, really really break the bank , you have no chance.

Its all bout muller.if they followed fenway plans,but vcan invest more.thats unfortunately nameve game nowadays.look at citehs proposed traing facilities-untrue!

This is a joke surely, people saying the glory days are over, we dont have the money etc. Liverpool continue to.explore options surrounding the.stadium spend over £100m in around 7-9 months, put a.man in charge who knows the passion this club has and who has the won titles and personal acolades. We may no buy as big as city, but they have broken dressing room, we may not spend as much as united but theyre in vast amounts of debt. We have a better set up, spending less, getting who.we need but keeping true to anfield ways, where its all about the team at the centre of a community, commitment, hard work and a great ethos is what anfield delivers not massively over paid mercenaries who would play for anyone for the right price. We are just as big as united and city for those reasons, and have every chance of winning titles with our unified club. Get behind your team, who are doing a great job compared to where we were twelve months ago. Rant over

With the advent of fifa financial fair play rules, clubs won't be spending that much on players anymore, markets will withdraw (to a certain extent) and player values will go down. I think the 'arab billionaires spending tonnes of money' theory is going to be extinct shortly. FSG have got the right idea in exploiting revenue streams rather than doing what Man City seem to be doing (also I can't believe nothing more has happened with the investigation of the sponsorship deal with Etihad eds do you know if anything has happened with this?)

Why dont people admit to the 40 ton elephant in the room?

Its sell to buy. Just as it was under Hicks.
29.5m saved on wages. Spent on overpriced English youngsters.

We MUST be fan owned, or benefactor owned. Not some smooth talking Americans telling us about "brand revenue". We need owners with a PRIDE, who DEMAND that we win.

Someone may have forgot this. But we are still supposedly one of the world's biggest clubs. Well we look like minnows vs Man City, chelsea and Manc Utd these days.

A disgrace! {Ed001's Note - I really hope that was tongue in cheek!}

Is the investigation into man city about the fact that they use the Etihad 'sponsrtship' as a front for funnelling millions into the club? because it occurred to me that the easiest way for them to make a mockery of the fair play rules is to have a rediculous sponsorship deal (say, £200m per year) so that it becomes a legitimate revenue stream! {Ed002's Note - You really need to read the rules and understand them - there are already provisions about overly high sponsorship.}

FSG are shrewd business men, they have invested in a sqaud with the aim to get us in the CL as stated.Then sell on said players at a profit! To sign the 'superstars' to push on and get some silver ware imo very prudent. While also turning LFC into a very tightly run ship, go on any redsox forum that wont have a bad word to say.

FAO Ed001

well maybe we're not yet minnows. But there is a serious point. Once top was "success", then 2nd, now 4th is seen as a struggle v the 2 N London teams

The fact is that we're now on a lower net spend than in the Moores era ie its a zero net spend once wages and transfer fees are looked at. The worst part is that we NEED to invest to get back in the Champs Lge or the knock-on disaster continues.

Yes, NESV have generally appeared dignified vs Hicks. BUT, revenue hasnt meant a net spend. AND they have thusfar refused fan investment for equity. They have also refused to admit the incredibly low amount they paid for the club.

They come over fairly dignified because they have the same backers/ advisors as Hicks. This is Inner Circle Sports, who realise that Hicks style boasting will cause outrage.

Problem is, Hicks bought then sold. NESV just wheel and deal for zero net.
Why should we believe our club can finish ahead of chelsea and both manc teams?

And before someone says I'm a bluenose, Im actually a megapassionate red, who worked to rid the club of the prev Yanks, and to look at supporter involvement in the Club.

YNWA, a concerned Red.

You like it or not U need money. otherwise hard to compit in EPL. Man u have good team still they use more then £50m. Chesea Continue use £100m a year. City take them in a high lavel . Dzeko , Aguero Silva Barry all of our target taken by city. how long can wait for good days back ?

The Qatari Crown Prince recently bought PSG, so I doubt that Qatar fancies another club.

FYI the owner of Malaga FC is also From the Qatar royal family, but he's using his "own" money to fund the club and doesn't have muchinfluence over the government and higher ranking Royals like the crown prince.

Nevertheless, never put anything past the Qataris when it involves large sums of £Â¥$

To the poster above, are we honestly meant to be grateful that NESV will sell on any developed superstars like Suarez at a profit?

This simply further reiterates a desire that we are a selling club, and subordinate to the top europeans, and the Mancs and Chelsea. This is an outrage! WE should be at the top table, end of story!

BTW, I've been watching the LFC channel a bit, but I end up switching over. How many stars have we sold in recent years? Top, top playes too. And today I saw an advert with Raul Mereiles scoring for us.

Look back to the 70s and 80s. We had world class players for their whole career. NOT sold at a profit "because the business plan dictates". How can we become attached to the players if theyre bought then sold like stocks and shares in a New England dealing room?Were Giggs and Lampard sold at their "statistical price peak"?
