Reports advising that Ings has a "clean" tear of acl so could be back sooner. Anyone know about Gomez's injury and have an update?

Still no return date. It's probably best just leaving him out for the season and letting him get back to full fitness and not rush anything.

Gomez is out for the season. We'll know more of Ings after surgery but best case scenario sees him back mid March.

Ings surgery is Tuesday so fingers crossed for him along with Gomez. You are totally right don't rush them back Bob.

Im curios? What will they do during said surgery?

I really hope Ings makes a swift recovery. Admittedly, I wasn't overly keen on him joining but he has played very well, scored a few goals and is clearly very hungry to succeed here.

120% from the lad every game he's played. He may not be blessed with the technique of Messi or the speed of Ronaldo, but god damn he tries harder than anyone I've seen in a long time.

Very happy to eat my own words on Ings being a dubious signing.

With the fact that Ings gained an international cap while playing for us, that was going to increase his price. The fact that he is out injured for the season, does that lessen the price we pay by any chance? Just a thought.

Frisky, they will open up his knee, micro-stitch together ACL, anything else that needs to be done will be done and they will stitch everything back up. Job done.

The injury won't affect the tribunal price I don't think, it's nothing to do with burnley.

Hi Eds, anyone know what happened to Brad Smith? A couple of seasons ago he was our highly rated left wing-back and had his debut against Chelsea and now he's without a club? Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - never got a chance and then got into a contract dispute with the club, due to being unhappy with his treatment.}

Such a common story with us that it deserves it's own abbreviation.

Hopefully a problem of the past, wasn't the abbreviation Brendaned.

Are his bridges burnt even with a new manager ed? I always thought he had pace to burn and looked a real prospect.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - not completely, Klopp has said he would like to start with a clean slate for all the players.}

19 Oct 2015 20:43:43
Not all the players though. Enrique's absence was very visible even though we were struck with injuries. Smith's like Enrique's case is a club matter and I think they have no chance at LFC now. Smith hasn't played in any of the U21 matches, been on any pre-season tours and his loan was cancelled.

Would be a little silly of Klopp to freeze out all the natural left backs at the club with Gomez injured too. I guess time will tell.

Agree1 Disagree4

20 Oct 2015 07:52:01
It won't be Klopp making the call on Enrique or Smith. The club will make the call, and I believe they already have.

So this apparent marchisio bid all the main outlets are reporting, was it made over the summer or last week?

Probably LFC whoring out Gerrard for the last time?

Hi Reds,

Weekend loan update for you

Ojo came on on the hour mark as wolves lost 4-2 to derby

Ryan Kent played for 80mins as Coventry drew 0-0 with Blackpool.

Vigouroux played the full 90 and Stewart came on as a 70th minutes sub as Swindon lost 2-0 to millwall.
Swindon are in complete freefall.

Wisdoms stock rose this weekend by playing no part in the Norwich defensive horror show that saw them lose 6-2 to Newcastle.

Early season form has completely left Aberdeen as they lost 2-0 to Ross County.
Ward played the full 90 and McLaughlin was an unused sub.
Celtic are now top.

Deportivo came from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 with Athletic Club. Alberto with 1 assist.
Eds I know Alberto had no future under rogers but with a change in management will he get a fresh start? Or do the club want him gone?

Ballotelli is currently injured as Milan drew 1-1 with torino

Finally a win! Markovic played the gull 90 and got an assist as fenerbache beat kayserispor 1-0.

Wilson was an unused sub as Crewe lost 1-0 to Gillingham.

Yesil came on in the 70th mim as Luzern lost 1-0 to grasshoppers.

Canos played the full 90 as Brentford beat Rotherham 2-1

Illori was not in the squad as villa lost 2-0 to Chelsea.
I don't think he's been in the squad once.

Allen played the full 90 as senajoen beat inter 2-0.

And that's your lot šŸ˜.

Hi Hoola,

Yes they didn't play this weekend, he's only made a few appearances, mainly from the bench and is yet to score.

I think injuries have disrupted his time there.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - Ojo changed the game when he came on as well as getting an assist, well him and Coady did, as they came on together.}

Hello EDS,

I saw the bleacher article talking about players out on loan and guys like Lazar and wisdom who could be of use andor interest to Klopp. What type of contractual issues do our loaners present IF we recalled in Jan? Do you realistically see any of them coming back based on need Or will the finances dictate.

Grazie.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - we would have to agree a deal to end the loans with the club that have loaned them. It would really depend on if Klopp thinks they are what he needs and if they are getting games for their team. For some reason Alex Neil is not using Wisdom, even though the alternative is the worst right back in British football, Steven Whittaker, who is absolutely hopeless. So it would probably be a bit easier to sort a deal out with them.}

19 Oct 2015 09:20:18
Do you see a way back now for wisdom though ed?
Clyne is doing quite well although you don't seem like a massive fan of his.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - I disagree Clyne is doing well, he goes wandering off for no reason. Wisdom is much better defensively.}

19 Oct 2015 13:56:28
Thanks eds. Any thought son what klopp might do with lazar? I know you said many thought he was a year or so away from being ready to come to this league. With our lack of wingers and his natural speed I can't fathom that he won't fit into klopp plans at some point. Just wondering if so then when?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to complete his loan season and then be given a chance next summer in preseason.}

19 Oct 2015 14:36:03
How long does he have left on his contract? Did he sign for four years?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - 2019 it runs to.}

19 Oct 2015 15:51:18
Ed you can't be serious. I don't know of one characteristic that I ever saw of wisdoms being better than Clyne has showed this far. I realize wisdom is younger but clyne has been one of our best players all season.

Agree5 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but I just disagree, he wanders off leaving the right side wide open constantly, when there is a whole plethora of extra players covering the centre, but no one on the right at all. He has offered almost nothing going forward and is not particularly strong defensively. Wisdom is very strong defensively and is taller and much much better in the air.}

19 Oct 2015 17:02:53
I haven't seen much of Wisdom but every time I have he made me nervous when he got the ball. Always seemed like more of a center back than a right back.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he reminds me of Sakho, he is a lot better on the ball than people give him credit for.}

19 Oct 2015 19:24:08
Ed001 i went to the norwich vs west brom carling cup match and i was sat behind the goal to the right, i noticed that he was arguing throughout the first half with the cb i don't know what it was about really as i couldn't see wisdom had done anything wrong and i thought he played well . do you think there might be a problem with him and some of the norwich players and that's why he hasn't been picked ? Do you know what hos attitude is like ?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - his attitude was good, but the way he has been treated recently it wouldn't be a surprise if he is a bit bitter.}

20 Oct 2015 14:38:21
Clyne is a very very good player. He does however have a fatal flaw - he 'forgets' at times his primary function, the defence of the rear right side of the pitch and let's activity elsewhere on the pitch attract him and drag him out of position without ensuring someone else is covering his role. Nothing a decent defensive coach won't be able to drill out of him, but really it should be instinctive.
