Reina on his way to Atletico Madrid, source told me it has been common knowledge within the club for weeks...

Hope your source says the truth and we get rid of Reina asap. Although Jones is an average keeper he's 15 times better than the spaniard. Pepe did very well in the past and we all are grateful for that, but today if I hang my coat on the bar it will save more shots than him. We have to take care of the future.
Cheers
Lancelot

Its a part of the Falcao deal ?

This is all part of a silly set of ruours involving Barelona being in for cortois from athletio, even though lots of people don't realise he's a loan from chelsea. Chelsea aren't likely to let him leave, infact I'd be less surprised by him becoming chelseas number one and chelsea shipping cech off. Any way how does this link to Pepe. Well he's spanish, and Athletio would want a replacement for the player going to barca, even though he's not. terrible rumour. {Ed002's Note - AM would like to take Pepe in the summer.}

Reina is not as gud as b4, so selling him shld collect some funds for new recruits. Brad jones can be gud till the end of season. Jones has played 9 games so far and has kept 7 clean sheets. Very impressive.

Im a season ticket holder and know a couple of players and staff and I've heard nothing, we(atleti)have 3 keepers if you count coutois {Ed002's Note - Courtois is leaving in the summer.}

Are we that botherd any more three seasons ago it would have been a bad idear to let him go but now mmmmmmmm not so sure cash in on him I personaly don't think brad has let us down

Wouldnt mind doing a deal involving falcao coming this way just dreaming

Heard a rumor that we have bid for Mexican GK Guillermo Ochoa...any truth in it?

He used to be fantastic in the old lma manager games best keeper in them with akinfeev lol I bought him for 5 mill sold him for 35 good bit of buisness if I do say so myself

Being scouted

I remember Ochoa at the 2010 World Cup, and he looked incredibly dodgy. Unless he's improved *a lot*, I don't want us to go anywhere near him.

- Something Red -

Cant happen and here is why :

Ochoa's move to Fulham was all but signed and sealed until it was blocked by the English FA at the last minute because the specially made glove he wears on his right hand is illegal!

Memo Ochoa is Polydactyly meaning he has an extra finger, a little known fact, but one that has become problematic in finalising his move to London Premier league club Fulham.

Ochoa has six fingers on his right hand and consequently wears a specially made glove by sponsors Nike. Fulham were obliged to register this abnormality with the FA who in turn ruled his gloves were illegal due to their size as this gave him an unfair advantage over his opponents.

Don't believe the Mole

Have heard this evening that FSG will sanction a deal for Sneijder. 18 month contract on the table is what I have heard and its is a pretty substantial wage. LFC hopeful a deal will go through within the next 10 days. Main target for the Summer is Christian Eriksen. {Ed002's Note - Twitter perhaps?}

Don't hold your breath for Eriksen mate!

The Plank

I heard that the deal is going to be finished by tomorrow

Sneijder's not signing for lfc I suggest you stay away from twitter

When it comes to eriksen, its about play time and development, that is he's main goal, question is will a premier league club whit champions league acces, promise him play time, what he fears the most seems to be being benched, he knows its crutial that he has to play everytime to get better, so I guess as faar as eriksen goes, it all depends what the bigger ciubs are willing to promise him, from eriksens statements, it would apear barcelona would be the only place he would go whitout any promises being made, this is realy the is the best conklusion I could achieve given the statements he has made in the danish press, over a long period of time.

18 month contract for a 28 year old?
This is why I love this website!

Doesn't make any sense to sign a player for 10M and he only has one full season with us then go's on a free. It's bull talk.

The agent of Balazs Dzsudzsak has denied claims that the Dinamo Moscow winger is to move to Liverpool.

Jeez, what happened to him since moving to Anzhi? He was that bad he ended up in Dynamo or what?

He is not bad. He was sold to Moscow for about 14 million pounds.

Eds, how can you be so certain a bid for Coutinho has not been made? {Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. I have explained that Liverpool did indeed make an approach for the player - why not read the posts? So for one last time tonight: The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains largely unchanged in that Inter are not keen on selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Rubin Kazan and Porto and a couple of bids being rejected. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. He had a few starts early last season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder I thought his future in Milan was assured. The loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. One issue is that the replacement for Sneijder now appears to be someone else and there are a couple of players being looked at - this might make a sale or even a loan viable. Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England and that may not be easy to obtain for a permanent move. Something happened this morning which I think must also now be a complication in respect of Coutinho moving and that is the replacement for Sneijder. Inter had a preference for Paulinho but his cost his very high and his club do not want to sell. Their other option was Belhanda and the interest of Inter was holding his move to Fenerbahce up as he was refusing to agree personal terms - although that is of course no longer the case.}

So what you saying then Ed? :-p

Jimbob

Ed002 you never mentioned that Liverpool made an approach for the player. So why saying that you said so??? you mentioned that there were a couple of bids rejected.. but from which club/clubs? Porto? Rubin Kazan? Next time u'd be better writing just a 1 sentence answer and be clearer that rather writing a whole paragraph like the one below:

"The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains largely unchanged in that Inter are not keen on selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Rubin Kazan and Porto and a couple of bids being rejected. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. Their other option was Belhanda and the interest of Inter was holding his move to Fenerbahce up as he was refusing to agree personal terms - although that is of course no longer the case"

{Ed002's Note - This is an example of why we are in a completely hopeless situation. I try and make an effort to explain and perople still moan.}

Thats because you support chelsea and therefore don't care about lfc so why are you always on here slagging our team
john m {Ed002's Note - Do you realise how embarrassing it is for the Liverpool supporters to read you ignorant musings. But clearly all discussion of Coutinho is doing is attracting abuse - so perhaps we should remove him from being discussed.}

Any update on Sneidjer as everyone is saying we have submitted an offer for personal terms to his agent?

I know it has been done to death but wanted to know if you have heard anything new?

Didn't believe the rumours before but starting to believe now.

Richard {Ed002's Note - I provided an update to the status report earlier - please read the posts.}

He will give his answer tonight or tomorrow...we have placed a bid and is the same as galatasaray's bid

Yep. He's not coming. Never was. Never will,

Just a thought and I have no inside knowledge but what about kaka on loan, has experience, ability, can play as our no10 or in a front three of suarez sturridge kaka and has a point to prove. Worth a punt only 30 and i'm sure we could match milan's wage offer, hasn't done no where as well as expected but you don't go from being the best player on the planet to rubbish. Remember what he did to us in athens. Just a punt any views redted75 {Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot afford Sneijder's demands - they won't be able to afford Kaka's either. It is not going to happen.}

Liverpool should come out in the open and call these so called world class players, its not about the money I just wanna play football out in the media tell sneider or kaka where liverpool we would love you to play week in week out for us, come join the the biggest revival since shanks and we'll pay you £100,000 a week at half of what your on but if its really about football not money they would sign for us instead of playin in a lesser league for more money. Rant over I just think it would kill or cure the rumours and let the world no most world class footballers are only interested in there paycheque not the fans who pay there wages {Ed002's Note - It would certainly make Liverpool a laughing stock.}

A relation of one of the Editors sadly died a while back in a swimming pool, he was only 12, but could have been saved with a diffibulator. His father is trying to get support for an e-petition for diffibulators to be available in all public buildings. If this is something you consider worthwhile, perhaps you would think about signing it:

epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/29399

I'd like to express my condolences to the Editor and his family, I urge every LFC to sign the petition.
Defiffublators save lives I have seen it myself when I lived in America.

Signed this one already, but condolences to the Editor and his/her family, 12 is too young to die!

Keith

Have just signed the petition. Heartfelt commiserations to the editor and his or her family.

Red Owl

So sorry for the family and their loss. I will sign.

R.I.P. God bless.

Done and done.
Jud.

Condolenses to the Editor concerned, I will sign this no problem
Cheers

Signed and posted to fb to get a few more.

Condolences Eds. {Ed052's Note - I will pass it on. Thanks, I hope everybody spreads it as much as possible, Twitter, Facebook etc to get it to 100 000 siginatures}

63, 795 now.

Reusch.

All season I have thought we are not far off from being good and Sturridge seems the player to leave Suarez to roam and do damage to opposition. We are top six this season and better for the future. Regards Peter

Done.
Deepest sympathies to the concerned Ed and family

Hey Eds great jod on the site i'm on it everyday I was just wondering if their is any truth behind the coutinho rumour {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers please.}

19 Jan 2013 17:44:55
My feeling is BR is waiting on the Swansea agreement to not sign any players to end in the summer and then make moves on LB Taylor (if returns to same level following injury) and Vorm.

These are the two areas LB and GK which seem to need addressing in the summer

Also could see a move for a couple of other Swansea players, IF, we do not reinforce CB and winger areas

Do you see a similar situation eds? {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off and I am not aware of any such interest.}

Why Swansea players.. We bought one and he didn't do particularly well

Not good enough Swansea aren't Liverpool.

Signing Allen has been such a roaring success so lets go back and buy a few more from them.

The Plank

I doubt it, if he wanted all the Swansea players surely he would have stayed at Swansea

Yvonne

Do we really want to sign the whole swansea squad?

I doubt it, if he wanted all the Swansea players surely he would have stayed at Swansea

Yvonne

There are quite strong rumours from Swansea (I have season ticket) that Vorm will move to Lverpool

Red Achie

BR just can not get rid players he did not sign. With Wilson loan to Rangers, it will be big risk to put Coates the same way. Right, we have young talents such as Kelly, Wisdom Robinson. Coates could shoud STAY.

Why would we want another keeper? Pepe is in fine form and Brad has proved a sound stand in. {Ed002's Note - I am expecting Pepe to move on in the summer.}

19 Jan 2013 17:42:31
Hey eds and reds,
Do you believe that Liverpool have bid for Coutinho and that it was rejected?
If so, do you think Liverpool will bid for him again? {Ed002's Note - That is my understanding - a bid has been made. The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains unchanged in that Inter are not keen selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Rubin Kazan and Porto and a couple of bids being rejected. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. He had a few starts early last season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder I thought his future in Milan was assured. The loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. One issue is that the replacement for Sneijder now appears to be someone else and there are a couple of players being looked at - this might make a sale or even a loan viable. Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England and that may not be easy to obtain for a permanent move.}

So Sneijder is definitely going, to Galatasary or the Premier League.
Coutinho could have first team action assured at Inter, but they could look to bring someone else in.
Do you know who that target might be?
Do you think it's likely Liverpool might bid again? {Ed002's Note - (1) Sneijder will go but it is clear the first two clubs approached last Thursday would be interested if he significantly reduced his financial demands - which is the only way an EPL side would be interested. Neither of those clubs was English. However, the most likely destination remains Galatasaray. (2) There preference is for Paulinho but his cost his high. Their other option was Belhanda and the interest of Inter was holding his move to Fenerbahce up as he was refusing to agree personal terms - although that is of course no longer the case. (3) Possibly, but it may be with a view to a loan. I don't see it being resolved at all if Inter cannot get Paulinho to move.}

So we've lost Sahin and Cole and we're looking to bring in Ince and Coutinho.
However, Brendan Rodgers, Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have all said they would prefer more experienced players.
Ince and Coutinho I do not think fit that description, are there other targets coming in to add to or replace these two options?

Sneijder is well better than Coutinho

19 Jan 2013 16:51:39
Coutinho and mirin in, Coates and Pacheco out

Including Sturridge that's a net spend of about 16 which should recoup by selling Carroll Wilson and spearing and still have enough in the kitty

Think we need someone like coutinho or turan who can play across the attacking 3 in. 4-2-3-1

Think LB will be addressed in summer and assessment will be made on keeping likes of downing, Enrique......etc

Shushyboy

Do you mean you WANT Couhtino and Mirin in and Coates and Pacheco out or do you mean that's what you've heard? If it's just a wish list then why bother posting?

The Plank

Think you will find Coutinho is following Ramirez and Forren!! Sensible guy.

How is he sensible. Going to Southampton especially with their new manager.

Maybe he fancies some easier games in the Championship :-)

19 Jan 2013 16:14:12
Not a rumour, but please Ed could you answer? Is Reina injured ? He hasn't even made the bench... Is this a sign of him moving on?? I hope not... {Ed002's Note - There are no secret messages in him not being on the bench. Pepe will most likely not be off until the summer.}

They said he had a minor hip injury, but why does he have a plaster across his nose?

The guy on Fox sports said he saw him in the lift and he had a plaster on his nose

Yvonne {Ed002's Note - It was the result of a playful nip on the face from Sparky.}

He broke his nose against utd had operation on it yesterday

Christ Almighty a L'pool player only has to fart now and someone thinks that means he'll be off to another club.If you think Reina will be sold half way through the season you're nuts and who cares if he has a plaster on his nose?Maybe his missus thumped him!

The Plank

Reina is injured why else would Jones be playing.

Why else would Jones be playing? 'Cause Jones is a way better than Pepe! For fewer games Jones has more clean sheets than Reina.
Cheers
Lancelot

19 Jan 2013 15:00:42
Coates not starting or on the bench? Is this due to him going out on loan/sold? {Ed002's Note - I am told that Coates wants to leave to get more game time. Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus and WBA have been mentioned as a possible loan option.}

Thanks Ed. Your quick reply as always is always appreciated.

So frustrating that BR doesn't just play the kid more. He's always impressed and he's only 22. I fully support Rodger's but can't get my head around this one

And he's a CB with potential goal scoring. Great long pass and ball winner. I rather put Coates, with Agger & Skrtel if we need play 3-5-2 formation, which Wisdom still have lot to learn. And yes. We can reach TOP 3 ! so Suarez deliver BPL trophy next season... #YNWA

19 Jan 2013 15:17:14
{Ed002's Note - A little update for those that read the summary: Inter and Sneijder have now resolved the severence deal that was stopping any deal being completed.}

Ed2 thanks for the info mate. Have we made any bids that you know of?

Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not made any approach to Inter regarding Sneijder.}

19 Jan 2013 15:48:59
So what's his most likely destination? {Ed002's Note - Galatasaray.}

Dear Ed002, are you teasing us? Are you hinting at something? Or are you merely passing facts on?

As always and mentioned many times by loads of posters, cheers for all your work ;) YNWA {Ed002's Note - It is what it says it is - an update to the summary about Sneijder.}

Still think he will wait for other options before a possible gala move, wether that's from us or elsewhere

I don't think he will go to Galatasaray. He is too big of a player for them. If money is all he wants yes he will end up there and it will be a stupid move on his part.
But I don't see it happening. I believe he will lower his wage demands significantly and either us or another PL team will come knocking on his door. Expect this to drag on till the end of the transfer window.

19 Jan 2013 14:54:23
Eds and anyone who could answer

Any interest in Kiko Femenia from Barcelona?

if not from Liverpool, from anyone else?

Much appreciated
SR {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest in him.}

19 Jan 2013 14:36:21
Hi eds what's the latest with Tom Ince? Are we moving on to different targets? Also how many more signings do you see the reds making?

Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - I think it will still be possible to see a deal done for Ince.}

19 Jan 2013 14:08:52
Pepe not in the squad, you said he's not going to Barca- sure?

Thigh strain line crap {Ed002's Note - There was an explanation given earlier by WonderDogSparky.}

Why would he go to Barca now? The earliest Valdes will leave there is the summer so Reina isn't going to go and sit on the bench for the next few months, is he?

Apparently he is injured

Thigh strain, broken nose and a capable no.2 keeper that is it!

19 Jan 2013 14:06:24
Hi eds, is there any chance of Sneijder being allowed to leave Inter on loan? {Ed002's Note - No, that will not be an option.}

19 Jan 2013 13:31:23
Eds, why is the situation with Collocinni from Newcastle?
Is he leaving ? Is he leaving UK?
Any chance of us going for him? {Ed002's Note - If he leaves it will not be to another English side.}

Coloccini will be returning to San Lorenzo

19 Jan 2013 13:24:37
Eds, I know this probably isn't Liverpool related but I'd just like to know whether these players below are likely to do some moving around in January and possibly which club is taking them on.

Goetze, Hamsik, Draxler, Jovetic and Schurrle.

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Most probably not; I very much doubt it; No; Most probably not; Probably not.}

19 Jan 2013 13:11:43
Valdez apparently told Barca he won't sign a new contract there, so expect at least 6 months of "Reina to Barca" rumours.

- Something Red - {Ed002's Note - Barcelona have a player in mind to replace Valdez and it is nor Reina - so don't worry.}

Truthfully I'm not worried about Reina going and the not very good Valdez replacing him. I am already sick of the "Suarez gone at the end of the season" rumours and adding "Pepe gone at the end of the season"to it will do my head in!

The Plank

Is it Ter Stegen or De Gea ed? {Ed002's Note - Neither. Courtois.}

And ter Stegen it is! {Ed002's Note - Courtois.}

Rounds in london says its the chelsea keeper on loan in spain! Ath madrid?!

Eds you say its not reina and not to worry? this to me is making me over joyed off the prospect off him leaving. he is awfull and has been for 2 or 3 years now. please barca take this shambolic clown off our books and yes I mean this. for a keeper to be beaten at the near post on certain accations is enough for sore eyes. its no mistake just poor goal keeping his kicking is second rate he can't catch the ball and fumbles everything that goes his way. his our 20th century david james. jones in goal today has made us a stronger side.

How much would Chelsea want for him? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would like to keep him.}

So Barcelona want Courtois, but Chelsea want to keep him.
So either Barcelona pay over the odds to make Chelsea accept their bid or Barcelona look for someone else.
Do you know if Barcelona is looking at anyone else? Pepe Reina? Hope not, but could happen. {Ed002's Note - I don't see that they would be interested in Reina at all - but another Spanish club will be looking to him in the summer.}

19 Jan 2013 12:58:52
There is a rumour passing around that Liverpool will be bidding for Leandro Damio very soon! Eds what is your view? {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao remains of interest to several clubs including Spurs, PSG, Roma, Sporting Lisbon, Inter, Milan and Juventus. Lyon, Arsenal and Barcelona seem to have dropped any interest they had in the player. The summer saw rejected bids from Spurs and PSG. Spurs, both Milan clubs, Roma or (much less likely) Juventus may force a move - and these remain the most viable destinations right now. His club value him at an unrealistic 60M euro which they obviously won't get anywhere near - and they don't want to sell. He has complex ownership issues so it will not be an easy ride for any potential buyer that wants to negotiate a low fee. The player says wants to move to Chelsea but their interest would only be there if other targets were not achievable, but they have taken a look at him.}

If he comes to england then its spurs!

19 Jan 2013 13:08:46
Hy Eds.
I have heard a strong rumour and I believe on that bcs it tells me by my source.
Liv will sign sneider coutinio and jeffern before window close. And he also told me that downing will leave as well as coates. Hopes that true.
I just want to know your views.
Good luck to gerard and co for tonite game.
Thanx.

Downing isn't going anywhere!

Coates close to loan move and Mirin is coming in
Murton Red

Murton Red, is it really necessary to copy and paste everything you hear from Twitter? Especially considering it's not even your own information

As the Ed's have already rightly said, why would we bring in a replacement for a loaned player?

RobInRed

It had nothing to do with twitter I said on the 7th of jan Coates would go on loan to WBA I still stand by that also I said Mirin would come in to replace him
Murton Red

Well at least you give a name mate so if you're right you get credit and if you're wrong you get slagged off.

Thanks The Plank I will accept all criticism if I am wrong

19 Jan 2013 11:50:52
Hey eds, have you heard of any interest in Luis Muriel from Liverpool, young, quick, skillful and doing pretty well at Udinese right now. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - There was plenty of interest in Luis Muriel over the summer but none I am aware of from Liverpool. Whilst he has signed a new long term contract at Udinese, there is still interest being shown by Juventus, Udinese and Monaco.}

Interest from Udinese, after he signed a new contract there?
Weird!

Peter M {Ed002's Note - Should have typed Napoli.}

19 Jan 2013 11:22:40
Would love to see us take a chance on Coutinho, I believe Rafa was interested at some point. He's still young but has served his time with some quality professionals and a change of scene might be just what his career needs. I think this transfer would be better for the club overall, the Ince deal just seems so messy.

RedLube

Rafa is the one who bought him at Inter aswell.

19 Jan 2013 14:18:15
rafa didn't buy him inter bought him in 2008 and loaned him back to vasco da gama until 2010 when he moved to inter rafa was the boss the but not in 2008 when the original purchase was made
riley

19 Jan 2013 11:03:25
i have always said .its easier to buy from italian teams so hopefully the coutinho rumours are true. inter have always attracted south american players because of there scouting network. we would have to spend pretty big money for him probably in the 12 region but he would be great iwould feel.like the ed said work permit also an issue. inter always have home grown talent coming in so they are not afraid to lose players if the money is right. quedtion is. do we have the money. {Ed002's Note - I would think a reluctance to sell will be a bigger issue than the money. That is what Liverpool would need to work.}

19 Jan 2013 10:58:21
Hi eds, great work. I understand that Sneidjer is highly unlikely because of the financial side of things. However, in the tv interview today Rodgers has said he would like to bring in an experienced player of "the right quality", apart from Sneijder, is there anyone else who could be classed as "experienced" that we have been linked with??

Regards

Wigan red {Ed002's Note - It is rather a subjective term unfortunately. Liverpool has shown an interest in plenty of players - as discussed on these pages - perhaps someone experienced will arrive on loan?}

You are such a tease Ed002!

19 Jan 2013 12:05:15
Experienced Player.... ?

Regarded by some as one of the best passers of the football.....

Its almost Alonso Time :)

You see, this is what happens when you leave it to the imagination Ed002. Now we'll see an abundance of Alonso, Torres, Drogba and Kaka rumours now, lol.

Sneijder is the man!

Alonso, alonso, alonso...

19 Jan 2013 07:56:13
Why are people saying Coutinho is a definite? Ed's are you able to shine any light? I have gathered there has been interested and supposedly a £8m offer rejected. But everyone seems to be saying done deal...?

Also what do you think;
Is Sebastian Coates loan move to WBA still on?
Can people stop talking abouth Sneijder!
What are our other attacking midfield targets if any in your opinion? {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains unchanged in that Inter have no intention of selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Rubin Kazan and Porto. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. He had a few starts early last season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I think his future in Milan is assured. The loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England any move would possibly not be easy.}

19 Jan 2013 06:48:51
confirmed Liverpool have tonight had a bid for Philippe Coutinho rejected. He is an alternative to Ince
Murton Red

It seems that the 8 million has been rejected, however if I was BR I would pull out the stops to get this kid. He fits in with all the fsg requirements and has a great all round game, awesome skill and can unlock defences. I wouldn't think his wages would be too bad either. We need to add some flair to the team and Coutinho could add this. He is young and will only improve in the EPL in terms of strength and quality. Similar prospect an Ronaldo when united signed him!

Md

Murton mate you write these things as if you are truly in the middle of the rumour circus. You're not though, are you.

The next altenative is lazar markovic.

hey Ed's I read an article on caught offside that claimed we were interested in west broms Shane long and I was wondering with Coates going the other way this january do you see him moving to melwood? {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest in Long.}

Not. Good. Enough.

19 Jan 2013 05:42:47
hey Ed's first of all I would congratulate you on the awesome job you have been doing I just wish these sneijder rumours why don't these so called fans realise what a significant impact his wage demands coupled with inters price would have on the next few transfer windows no wonder no other club in the league wants him don't be fooled by the transfer fee there is a whole lot more to this than just the apparent transfer fee

Just because somebody wants us to sign a player doesn't mean they're not a proper fan. Foolish.

We should just forget about signing sneijder. his wages demands are absolutely outrageous

Wesley Snjeider is about to sign for Gala. Will be announced with the next couple of days.

why would he go to gala a rubbish team instead he should come to liverpool the team that he might go to who has no world class players liverpool havel ike luis suarez daniel sturridge, rahim sterling steven gerrerd and probaly got more and gala have not got one good player so think about it and if I was wesley sneijder I would have came to liverpool and not go to gala however he probaly come to liverpool and if he did come I would be sneijder, suarez sturridge and steling all of them would be good for liverpool and then liverpool will a good team also we should get huntelaar he would be good for liverpool aswell and we probaly have the best team in there world!!!

Best post i've read in ages. Love this page

With the Coutinho rumours and the persisting Sneidjer rumours, the eds must wince everytime the words "Inter Milan" are said lol

As Ed02 says it's unlikely Inter will want to sell both Sneijder and Coutinho (although the former they'd love to get rid of). We might go back with an improved offer, or consider Ince again or another target all together.

What's most pleasing is that we're still in the market for another player and we've looked abroad. We'll see what happens comes the 31st, but I'm sure we'll see 1 more signing, which is a good thing indeed.

How anyone can speak of Thomas Ince in the same breathe as these 2 is quite laughable!

Even if the Coutinho rumour were true, the reported bid was REJECTED. I wonder may this be a tactic to kick start the negotiations with Blackpool again?

Frankly, I would like this rumour to be true though!

Guardian and Telegraph reporting that Liverpool have bid 8m for Coutinho, but suggest an improved offer will have to be made

19 Jan 2013 08:27:13
Liverpool have had an 8m bid rejected by inter for coutinho.
BR and FSG tired with Blackpool playing hard ball over Ince.
But they are also hoping that news of the bid might make them think again. Also Rodgers has revealed that he wants sneijder but FSG disagree as he doesn't fit the policy. Senior players i.e. Gerrard and Suarez are growing restless over the transfer policy.

Thanks

Kyle

This suggests a possible rift between BR and FSG over the transfer policy. tbh there seems to be a lack of consistency in what this 'policy' actually is, every time the club opens it's mouth we get a different perspective on it. if ayre says we will buy experienced in the right circumstance than there's no clearer fit than sneijder. he is not getting inter wages anywhere, he's putting off gala and this is his last chance to play in england, grab your balls and go for it.

tired of taking expensive punts on kids. 8m+ is too much for coutinho

Liverpool are currently holding talks with fiorentina over the transfer of former Manchester city centre half Stefan Savic, possibly an initial loan before a permanent transfer

Hope not....im still better than him and I packed in 12 years ago!

This is genious.
Such a liability and in the games he has played for Citee he's nearly single handedly gifted the points to the opposition.
I will be really questioning our scouting if this one comes to fruition.

I would sooner put Boris Johnson in defence than Savic

No their not. What an personic post

Various French and Mexican sources are reporting varying degrees of interest in Guillermo Ochoa, with some going as far as to say we've made a tentative €6m bid.

Should I just chalk this one up to the b******* board?

TSP {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any offer for him.}

Im reading a bit about inter rejecting a bid from us for phillipe coutinho. I think this would be a super signing.. this kid has got stacks of potential... undoubtedly the potential to be a world beater if you ask me. I know some of you will reject this due to his age and what not but the question is would he improve the squad? absolutely. a very clever playmaker who is still very young

Tony Barrett(Times) and the guardian are saying that we made an £8mil offer for Coutinho.
Whats your opinion editors ? these have to be more reliable source that twitter.

looks like we will have to spend 12mil to get Countinho...great talent so good at beating defenders ...could spell the end for Assiaidi though..Werner in Liverpool tonight and tomorrow so expect some action in the market these next 7 days

Why do people think Assaidi will be game over when we buy a player who plays also in his position? Assaidi was bought as a squad player and he is one of the future. I expect Assaidi to remain at least 2 more years to prove his worth.

Eds - both the Guardian and Telegraph reporting we have bid 8 million for Coutinho. Decent papers, which means this could have some legs..YNWA

Hey ed's latest news is that Liverpool have made an £8M bid for Coutinho, it seems all newspapers and sources have gone into overdrive at once over this one. Do you have any info? I feel he has the brazilian flair and spark our midfield needs.

AsianRed {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains unchanged in that Inter have no intention of selling him regardless of interest from Liverpool, Rubin Kazan and Porto. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer of 2011. He had a few starts early last season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I think his future in Milan is assured. The loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England so any move would not be easy.}

Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool very likely to happen but inter do admire him alto so hopefully a loan deal would be agreed. Philippe Coutinho must be thinking about the world cup so he be happy to go out.

Coutinho rumour gathering pace, all the papers are reporting it. 8m bid rejected but talks ongoing. Hope this deal comes through, this kid has bags of talent.

According to the Guardian, Liverpool have tabled an 8 mill bid for Coutinho. He would be so much better then Ince in my opinion. It will take more for Inter to sell though.

Is Tony Barrett a reliable source Eds as he's also confirmed £8m bid rejected by Inter for Coutinho from us

ed002, i'm not arguing with you about dempsy but i'm looking forward, not to the past and I think we need quality experienced players, one last thing with dempsey again I will tell you I did not want him to come to the club because I believe he had the one good season were he scored them goals, a bit like tom ince, I don't want him untill he has really proven himself at a higher level, charlie adam was in the same bracket one season wonders, but it was the owners who stopped the transfer because of the fee we were getting quoted and with sigurson he wanted too much wages, please correct me if i'm wrong on any of these points,

mickey b {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what stopped Dempsey going through, it was expect by everyone to happen and it didn't. I really don't understand why some LIverpool fans cannot accept that and move on.}
