Hey Ed002, just wondering if you have heard anything else on the pato front.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything on the Pato front regarding Liverpool. I explained what I knew and got shouted down that he had already agreed to sign - a done deal like ter Stegen I was told.}

Does he seem like a Klopp signing Ed? it could be said that he's a Liverpool signing (Markovic, Balotelli, Allen, Enrique. The list goes on)

{Ed002's Note - Personally I think it would signing Pato would be a mistake given that Liverpool has the likes of Sturridge, Benteke, Origi, Firmino etc already on board.}

Agree, Benteke, Sturridge and Firmino (false 9) all good enough to lead the attack for rest of season, plus Origi to take pressure off and Ings to come back next season.

Only reason we should even vaguely consider signing another striker is if we sell Sturridge because we think he's too injury prone, but why not give him rest of season himself? And if it's as a replacement for Sturridge, Pato ain't it.

Hi Ed002 mate,

i have been very busy the last day or 2 so i'm not up to speed with this Pato situation, i don't know if we are going to sign him or not but most important to me is if he is another player that is injury prone as we need to steer clear of these type of players, so in your humble opinion is he a injury prone player?

{Ed002's Note - About 5 years ago he had a bad year or so but I am not aware of anything significant since.}

On paper Benteke, Sturridge and firminio look a good front line, especially where as Firminio can play in different positions, as i said on paper it looks good but look at our team on the field of play and we get a different position, maybe if you write down Sturridge missing 10 - games a season and Benteke missing around the same amount of games and firminio just setteling into the prem then it looks so much different, i do believe that we need a striker who is willing to play more than 30 games a season even when he is not a 100 % fit, its like when i read that Sturridge has declared himself fit which readimg between the lines that he has been passed fit by the doctorbut he has kept himself out by saying he does not feel a!00%, he is oneo f them players who will not play unless he feels a 100% fit in himself, you would not see Suarez sitting out of games if he was 90% fit he would play but sturridge is not cut from the same cloth.

Thanks Ed. Still dunno what to think about it. Whether it will happen. Whether it should. just have to wait and see!

Id could actually be that he is injured? I would like to think that if he could he would play. No point in rushing anything after such a lenghty injury. He has been out for months.

I guessing it's more likely the difference between being healthy and being match fit, everyone needs easing in after a long break.

Hopefully he starts on the bench and can play a 30mins impact sub if we need him.

Hi eds, any interest in Lucas Biglia or Nicolas N'Kolou of Lazio and Marseille respectively? Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid, Wolfsburg, PSG and Arsenal had shown an interest in Lucas Biglia over the summer whilst he struggled to agree a new contract with Lazio. Whilst he did agree a Lazio extension, the club and his agent are keen to now sign a new contract with a significant improvement in wages. Inter made a recent enquiry and were very surprised at the asking price, which is well beyond their means. Real Madrid, through a third party, put an offer to Lazio recently - but they said it was inadequate.

N'koulou was looked at by a number of sides including Arsenal, Lyon, Norwich, West Ham and Napoli with a view to a summer move. Marseille did expect interest from Lyon to lead to an offer but they may well be hedging their bets to pick him up when his contract runs out in the summer. Two clubs have held discussions with Marseille that could lead to an offer being made in January to take the player. Roma are very keen on adding another centre back in January, and Chelsea who have been having on-going discussions over another matter. Having checked this morning, Liverpool has not made any approach to Marseille about the player, and the player's agent has not informed Marseille of any approach to him by Liverpool.}
