Been told LFC will sign, Johnson (20m), Dann (10m) and Cissokho (16m), if we can sell/loan most of Cole, Aquilani, Ngog, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Degen, El Zhar, Meireles, Jones, Krygiakos, Shelvey, Wilson, Pacheco, Spearing, Ayala, Gulacsi.

I told you that a fee had been agreed for Downing a day before it was announced.

Thanks, THOG

FACT I heard at a bar in rotterdam from a scouser who lives on the same street as Kelly (actually showed me a picture of his son in Kelly's lap in october 2009 when he was not even playing for LFC XI and had captured a heart, so will believe the guy no matter what u guys say). Anyways, enough introduction, the truth maybe a little harsh to all you momentary lovers and fans of Aqualani, he will be gone to Italy by the end of the season. J.W. Henry wants to sell him at a higher price and hence those tweets mentioning to keep him here as Italian serie A teams knew Aqualani wanted to return to Italy and hence did not want to cough up the real price, so Henry just played the reverse sweep shot and caught them with their pants down with those tweets.

Some ed who posted his first XI against Sunderland with Aqualani in it, plz 4get Aqualani in the lineup in that game.

I am sorry as much as I love this sight, I love facts more.

Liverpool set to bid on alexander milosevic the 19 year old centre back from AIK (sweden). Reporting from swedish newspaper.

Any chance of Diego Godin as a new LFC CB Eds? Cheers. {Ed009's Note - I don't believe there is any interest in the player and he would be very expensive.}

4 more signings coming in:
ADAM JOHNSON 22 mill - wants to move away from city, mancini doesnt like him, knows he loose his shirt next year, need to sell before we sign him, young british and good what we are after.
GARY CAHILL 18 mill - bolton r willing to get rid for the right price, we will sell first before we get him and again young, british and good.
ALY CISSOKO 15 mill - wants a move to premier league, lyon wants him out, young and good again sell to buy.
PARK CHU-YOUNG 10 mill - wants out as monaco r relagated, will boost asian market, young and good and need to get rid of n'gog before we sign him.
great site anyway YNWA
lfconnor {Ed009's Note - there is no way we will make 65 million pounds from sales I am afraid, so if its sell to buy, they won't be happening.}

18 Jul 2011 22:52:52
Ed, do you think if we went in for him would we have a chance of getting Michael Owen. Would be quite cheap and a good backup, although united mightn't want to sell to us. {Ed009's Note - I am sure we would have a good chance but he is crocked and I am certain he will not be received well. I know of no interest at this time.}

I'm going to go through everything I know, as I'm getting a bit annoyed with some peoples posts, especially those ridiculing transfer targets.

I'll start with the obvious.

Cissokho - I think Ed002 has explained this one enough, but basically we've made a inquiry and nothing more since. The transfer is certainly possible, but Lyon are demanding nothing less than £12M.

Baines - DC/KD are very interested in Baines, yet Everton are refusing to talk. The only way to get him is to trigger his release clause (25M I think, but correct me if I'm wrong). I thinks its unlikely we would pay that much.

Enrique - We have entered talks with NUFC (again) recently. I haven't got the details, but I know we would have to bid above £10M to get him.

Campbell - No interest from LFC.

Cattermole - Once again, no interest.

Aguero - FSV would be happy to pay the £40M (or whoever much AM want) but he does not fit our wage budget. He wants at least 180K, the highest we can offer is 115K (Stevies on 120K).

Higuain - There is definite interest in the player, although I cannot see a transfer taking place. Some representatives have met in Madrid, but this could be for Athletico or Real.

Benzema - Once again, there is interest, but still looks unlikely. I repeat representatives have met in Madrid.

Mata - We met his agent (his father) before Juan went to the U-21 championships. As far as I know no contact has been made with Valencia. we have our No.1 target in Downing, which reduces the chances of getting Mata, but a transfer is still possible.

Dann - Definite interest in Dann, he's holding out for a transfer to LFC but we haven't done anything yet.

Cahill - No interest from LFC.

A Johnson - There is interest, but it depends whether city get Nasri (or a winger). Negotiations might start if city get a player in.

Jeffren - There was interest a while back, but its died down recently.

Chu-Young - Same as above.

Lennon & Defoe - Definite interest and we have contacted Spurs regarding one if not both of these players.

Sturridge - Slight interest. Not likely to happen.

----------------------------------------

I'll be honest and say that I don't know to much about players leaving, except a few of the youngsters are going on loan.

----------------------------------------

We are looking at quite a few young players (17 and under) mainly from the UK and Asia.

----------------------------------------

Just a note...

The last I heard from my source was a couple of days ago, so some things may be slightly out.

So far my posts have been 100% correct.

I have reliable sources.

Thanks James.

ed is there any chance we bring in a target from left field KK always had few irish lads in his teams do you think any of current crop good enough Doyle Long or Mcgeedy Red2Toe {Ed009's Note - I am afraid to say I don't think any of them will be signing, and I don't think any are good enough. Long is a very good Championship striker, but nothing more; Doyle is a player I love, he is good at everything but not exceptional at anything; McGeady has every trick in the book but can't cross and would cost far too much. I also don't know of any interest at all.}

Ed009, you heard anything about the Enrique rumours that the bar maid's passing round? And did you get manage to get her to number ha ha?. Seeing as Bolton have bid for Jeffren, do you think we should try and trump them for him. I say this because price wise it would seem he's valued simular to N'Gog who i do think has shown bits of what he can do but never on a consistent basis, never heard Anfield groan as much when he picked up the ball to take a pen{not his fault but imo, not good enough at all for us. If we did get Jeffren, who's more versatile and pacey. Sureley we'd get our money back on him if it didn't work out. Just a gut feeling that if he comes over to the Prem i think he'll do well. As always Ed009, your like Joe Cortez, the famous boxing referee, firm but fair and do a sterling job along with all the other Eds. Jonson6 {Ed009's Note - Jeffren has pace but I am not so sure he can convert that into an end product. He is young so he could develop that side of his game. If he did so he would be exactly what we need, we have strength, height and immense skill up front, but no blistering pace. Unfortunately I don't think we will sign an attacker, perhaps even if N'Gog is sold. The only thing I got off that barmaid was somewhat more unsavoury.}

Cissokho, Aguero, Higuain, Cattermole, Benzema.....
I could go on. These names are fictitious and not rumours. Cheap tabloid stuff.
I do have 2 names that will definitely be LFC players soon. My source is a gentleman so I cannot disclose but if these names aren't true then this is my last post.
1. Chu-young (Korean /Asian Market)
2. Dann - 25 years old, born in Liverpool, wants the move too.

hi ed, first of all i enjoy reading the rumours every day. it's my first post here. cisshoko will not come to liverpool because they want 16.5m for him. I don't know exactly the story of enriqu of newcastle coming to liverpool .i think liverpool will buy a backup striker for caroll or suarez. in the midfield we have the right players we need.

i only wish adam jhonson would come to liverpool. he is a well talented player. at defence i would love to have a left back . that's the prob of liverpool for a long time. in my opinion we need a young player which could replace carragher in the future and what do you think ed will wee sell skrtel and buy a player such as cahill ?

what do you think of adding a new striker? and what do you think would be the new arrivalss? {Ed009's Note - I think that if N'Gog leaves there is a chance of a new striker, otherwise; no. I think we need a left back too personally, and I think Cissokho is the best option. There is still a chance we could get him, but we need to get a move on. Cahill and Dann are the most likely centre backs in my mind and both would be excellent additions. The former may well be priced out of a move.}

18 Jul 2011 21:52:34
Hi Eds, last three names of the list to joining to us :
LB : Cissokho
CB : Dann
ST : Park cho-young

What do you think eds ? {Ed009's Note - Dann and Cissokho remain possibilities, but the club may need to hurry somewhat if they really want the players. I am not so sure we will be signing a striker, and not so sure we are interested in Park. He wants to join though, that much is clear. The same can be applied to the others too.}

18 Jul 2011 21:26:48
Liverpool FC sent a few delegates over to Germany a couple of weeks ago to discuss a deal to bring Toni Kroos to LFC but Bayern Munich wouldn't even entertain the idea.

Liverpool FC have also enquired about the availability of Santi Cazorlafrom Villareal.

18 Jul 2011 21:22:52
Evening eds everyone , alot of talk of man s**tty letting swp leave .would you take a gamble on him 4 million cheers psv {Ed002's Note - I think I would be a little disappointed if the club did actually.}

18 Jul 2011 21:05:02
sorry ed, i havent read the whole page, so you may have answerd this question,
was aquilani signed on a 3 or 4 year contract?
also is there any news on juves interest in mereiles? be sad to see him go, he will forever be a legand imo, for scoring the winner against chelsea, and giving torres a nightmare start to his chelsea career

matt 27 {Ed002's Note - Five years.}

18 Jul 2011 20:53:35
been speaking to my source at anfield who only tells me truth not rumours.doesnt tell me much because thats what its become now . even people high up are keeping things close to there chests. he told me about the ground and the new built one was looking more likely than the redevelpment and better value with the naming rights wich i posted weeks before the echo and media told us. he has now told me that aguero will not be coming mainly due to his wages . there is still 1 maybe 2 new arrivals and up to 8 through the exit door if there agents can find clubs to get near the wages they are on here.

18 Jul 2011 20:57:15
EDS, what do you think the chances of Joe Cole staying are?

I for one would like him to have another season, he is a top quality player and any team would like him in the squad.

also do you think there could still be a possible move for Leighton Baines?

Dean Anfield LFC {Ed002's Note - I refer to an earlier answer about Joe Cole.}

18 Jul 2011 20:40:47
hi eds i can see liverpool getting leighton baines as lb and dann as cb and then going all out for higuain. what do u think eds honest opinion? {Ed002's Note - I don't see Higuain I am afraid - Benzema would be a better shout, and I do see him making the move either.}

18 Jul 2011 20:38:30
If Liverpool can offload the right players, they are looking to sign Enrique (10mil) Lee-Chung Yong (10mil) and Gary Cahill (15mil)

ed please post on rumours page. I know you dont think it will happen but I think theres something to this.
its official now Sergio Aguero has turned down Man City and wants to play for Liverpool Sergio Aguero's agent has made it clear if Liverpool are to put action into there recent interest for the player it better be soon. I knew Damien, Kenny and John Henry were planning to sign that player once they had proved there efforts to strengthen the team to the world. Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez, Dirk Kuyt and Ngog just aint gonna cut it to challenge for silver next season. What would we do if one of our best gets injured? Its just too risky to not prepare for that. The plan is to win the League, you can say its not gonna happen hoping that your wrong and that you dont put your credibility on the line but im saying it will happen and he will be a Liverpool player by the end of the window. Daniel Hanwell {Ed009's Note - since when was it official Aguero wanted a move to us? Post the link for everyone to see, won't you?}

__________________

Aguero's agent, Hernan Reguera, told "Ole" in an interview there were three clubs interested in Aguero. Man City, Real madrid and JUve. No LFC mentioned at at all. For now city have made the "best" offer although all three are still in the picture. His decision will be made public after the cup. His agent also stated that AM have known about this for several weeks that he will be leaving if the right offer is available.

Agueros quote was "I have made clear in my statement that I do not see myself at Atletico. If I said I saw myself at Atletico, I'd be lying. I'd prefer to play in Spain or England, those are the two best countries. No mention of us.

hi ed great site....
any truth in the daneil sturridge rumour's i have seen {Ed002's Note - I don't know what you have seen but if it involves Sturridge moving to Liverpool I think it unlikely.}

18 Jul 2011 19:28:55
Eds, I have seen more and more rumours about Gary Cahill signing to liverpool. Is this just wishful thinking or an actual possibility? I would love to see him in the squad next season {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest but perhaps he is an option if Bolton don't push the price too high.}

18 Jul 2011 19:16:14
Aguero will join Liverpool-NOT Man City as many think
Lavezzi will goto Man City as Tevez's replacement.

18 Jul 2011 18:35:59
is there any chance of us signing adra turan this transfer window ed? i know there has been interest so just wondering {Ed002's Note - Arda Turan will move this summer and looked Atletico Madrid bound, perhaps the move is awaiting Aguero to be sold so that funds are available, but now things appear to be changing. Dortmund, apparently, remain interested but Villarreal and Spurs appear have dropped any interest that they had. I suspect Valencia and Chelsea are keeping a watchful eye on matters but to try and persuade Chelsea to let go of Drogba, Galatasaray have rather surprisingly offered up Arda as part of the deal. I have no idea why Liverpool have not followed up the interest they previously had in the player.}

18 Jul 2011 18:31:30
Anyone else think Bruna had potential?
Also Ed, what are the chances of Suso or Morgan going on loan?

Kopite Tee {Ed002's Note - I think there is certainly a chance of loans next season but they are perhaps too young right now.}

Hey guys, what is the situation with Maxi and Joe Cole? Are the club trying to find buyers or are they apart of next season's plans? I still feel Aquilani should leave and the Fiorentina option appears the best for all concerned.

Hi Ed's, not sure what area of the site this goes, so i do apologize if its wrong, but i just wondered is there anything on Antonio Cassano at all? im sure i heard his name being thrown about a little bit at start of the window but it's died away since. Thanks and great site {Ed009's Note - there was a link, but I believe it was based on very little. He is too old, too expensive and comes with severe attitude problems and a volatility that would risk unsettling the squad.}

Liverpool set to gazump Manchester United bid for Celtic left back Emilio Izaguirre.

18 Jul 2011 16:32:57

ed2 was right then:-

Liverpool have denied that Lyon defender Aly Cissokho is on the verge of a £9.5m move to club, reports the Daily Mail.

The France international has been linked with the club all summer with Liverpool publicly stating their intentions to sign a left back, but a move for 23-year-old Cissokho has been debunked with Lyon valuing the player at around the £16 million mark.

18 Jul 2011 16:27:37
Just to back Macca up over the need to move some players out, I was chatting to an ex Liverpool manager a couple of weeks ago, who told me this needed to be done before the Downing deal. At the time he expanded more on the costs of firstly buying a player, then paying his wages, the later being much more of an issue than the original cost. So at some time soon JH will insist on a bit of deck clearing I think.

Just check joel campbell on wiki and it says he is a liverpool player. Isn't it amazing. I thought Arsenal are very close to signing him. Wouldn't mind if it becomes true. because he has lots of potential and is class just at his age. but really doubt it, though. Ed, do you know of any interest from Liverpool in the player? Thanks alot. {Ed002's Note - There is interest from another EPL club but it is not Liverpool. I expect that subject to work permits and formalities the kid will move to Arsenal.}

18 Jul 2011 16:08:58
Aly Cissokho is eager to move on to a new challenge in his footballing career and while talking to Rhone-based newspaper Le Progress, the France international said, "I am happy to be in a great club with great players but I do give preference to the English League. I have an idea in my head but for now I will prepare myself for the next season. The situation is somewhat special but I have to prepare myself for next season wherever I play."

Well lets be honest he is coming now isn't he?

The reported interest in Merrales from Italian clubs (specially Inter Milan) has died off & I expect him to stay.

As Macca said LFC 's priority now is a Quality Centre back rather than a Left-Back. Seems like Kenny has opted to rely on Johnson, Aurelio & co for till January. Insua is expected to leave for Roma for around 4M-6M. Dann or a CB & a young striker from abroad is expected to arrive before the transfer window closes in August.

Deadwood will be shipped out of the club & is certainly at a high cost.

Ed, Though player swaps are normally difficult to arrange if Mancicni is interested in Aquilani as swap involving A Johnson could be a possibility. Jeffren almost a bolton player after bolton have had a bid accepted. Good thing we havn't signed him. I'd rather we keep El Zhar. Has really blossomed and a good option for RWM

And there is no interest in Vargas atm. Interest in catermole though

Liverpool FC are tracking highly rated Bournemouth striker Danny Ings. Although signing a contract with the club back in February, i am led to believe Liverpool lead a host of clubs for the signature of this youngster. A bid of around £500,000 is expected shortly and will probably be much for the south coast club to turn down. Any thoughts Ed's? {Ed002's Note - None.}

Liverpool won't be signing Cissokho, Kenny watched him back in April on Comolli's advice but didn't fancy the player. Reports that were close to signing him are completely wide of the mark. It won't happen, we won't sign him. 100% Fact.

18 Jul 2011 14:12:50
I posted last week that Aquaman looked happy, sharp and a real talent in the first game in China and he did it again on Saturday having a hand in 5 of the 6 goals. Now John Henry has come out and heaped praise on him and Macca is saying KK is doing his best to keep him as he rates him highly. Aquaman himself has reportedly said he wants to stay now. I personally believe we should try and keep him but last week one of the Ed's said he expected him to be sold.
Ed(s) - can you shed any further light on the latest with him? I hope he stays, he now looks the player Rafa told us we'd bought.

ANY TRUTH IN THIS POST ED?

Liverpool are thought to be considering a clever short term move for Spain international left back Joan Capdevila, who is allowed to leave Villarreal on a free transfer at the age of 33.

ID SEE THIS A FARILY SMART MOVE AS HE IS STILL QUALITY AND COULD MENTOR SOME YOUTHS AS OPPOSED TO US FORKING OUT FOR A FULLBACK WHEN WE HAVE QUALITY YOUNGSTERS IN THE WAIT

EASYD {Ed002's Note - So Liverpool are considering taking a 33 year old on a "free" where they will have to pay a not insignificant signing on fee no doubt. I can see it all ending in tears next summer if they do.}

Hi Macca

Quick question; any idea of the CB targets we are pursuing?

I know Dann has been mentioned, Sahko seems to be off the table (info from Ed002) and Cahill I presume is likely to go to Arsenal or Chelsea.

Bolton Wanderers are swooping for Barcelona winger and Liverpool target Jeffren Suarez.

Jeffren is set for talks with Wanderers after a bid of 6 million was accepted by Barca last night.

I'm surprised we did not make a bid at that price.

Emiliano Insua has been in discussion with Roma representatives over a possible transfer.

hi eds it says on the lfc website that cissokho will not be coming to liverpool is this true {Ed002's Note - I assume it says this in the news round up. The same place that yesterday and Saturday said a deal had been agreed. Please refer to earlier answers.}

18 Jul 2011 12:54:56
Liverpool are looking to offload Insua, Kyrgiakos, Degen, El-Zhar, Poulsen, Meireles, Cole and Jovanovic.

Combined, these players are on around 450k/wk and the club cannot afford that.

Only a LB will come in regardless of who is offloaded. If Cole and Jovanovic can bothe be offloaded, Dalglish will make a 10mil bid for Bolton's Lee Chung Yong.

The club will also listen to offers for Skrtel (10mil+), Maxi(2mil+) and N'gog(6mil+) although none are actively trying to be sold. If Skrtel goes, the club will happily pay 16mil for Cahill.

Ed, do you know anything more on the rumour that we have signed Tom Crainey from Hull City, hence the friendly next week? {Ed002's Note - No, sorry.}

18 Jul 2011 12:46:53
eds, do u fink we will bid for N'zogbia wigan want £12m, and he can cover LB as well as LW, or is there a chance we cud go for Vargas as Cissokho looks to be dying down bcuz the price quoted £16m(wich i fink is a very reasonable price for a 23yr old)?

BigD {Ed002's Note - I don't see a bid for N'Zogbia at this time - Downing has just be bought and he was clearly the number one target. I suspect that any deal for Vargas involving Aquilani has gone as well with Fiorentina stating this morning that Vardas' price has gone up following recent performances. The situation with Cissokho has been flogged to death already.}

18 Jul 2011 12:36:21
Hey Ed,
What are you views on staying/leaving on the following players:
Aqua man
Mierles
Reina
Ngog
Cole
I think none will leave this window but have no sources or anything to back it up. {Ed002's Note - I suspect Aquilani and Meireles will leave.}

18 Jul 2011 12:00:16
hi ed any news on zapata and could the mavinga deal have anything to do with mvila {Ed002's Note - Zapata has moved to Villareal and Mavinga's deal has nothing to do with M'Vila.}

18 Jul 2011 11:40:27

18 Jul 2011 11:38:52
hi ed..keep up great work..was wondering is there any truth in pepe reina leaving lfc..if not why would doni leave first team football to sit on bench , , , , , , , , , {Ed002's Note - Reina seems content to stay at the moment.}

18 Jul 2011 11:33:15
Liverpool will make a bid for N'Zogbia if he reduces his wage demands... You heard it here first folkes

18 Jul 2011 11:12:27
Ed what is happening with Dann and Cahill?

We were strongly linked with Dann but thats gone a bit quiet and there was interest in Cahill but I havent heard anything since.

Dann looked like he was gonna go Stoke but I'm not sure what happened and Arsenal were supposed to be favourites to sign Cahill but I cant see them spending £17m on one player.

Also do you know of any potential interest in another winger because Downing is not enough? {Ed002's Note - At present the focus is on dealing with the disposal of fringe players. There may still be interest in both Dann and Cahill and certainly Arsenal are keen on Cahill. I don't see any interest in another winger right now.}

Hi ed, what's with all the higuain and marcelo rumours circulating? Fanatix reports we are about to bid 45 mil for them??

And bout cattermole, yes there is some interest. Depends on the sale of poulson, joe cole, merieles/aquilani

PKRed {Ed002's Note - There is no way that I can reasonably respond to such rumours - aside from saying that I have not heard anything about this £45M bid from Liverpool. As for Liverpool's interest it Cattermol;e, as I said yesterday, I would be somewhat surprised.}

18 Jul 2011 10:49:53
HI ed. Is mata to Liverpool all over now or Is there still a chance remaining? {Ed002's Note - I suspect that as Liverpool got their number one target that the chances of Mata joining have reduced considerably as previously discussed.}

18 Jul 2011 10:46:45
Hi eds. Is there still interest in enrique? Also do u think ngog will b going or will he b kept as our 3rd striker? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what interest there is in Enrique but he seems to be waiting for a call from Arsenal. N'Gog should be looking for first team football but I am not so sure he will be leaving right now.}

Eds can you please explain to me who negotiated contracts for the players currently at liverpool? I can understand the gerrards and Carraghers being on good wages but when I hear the likes of el zhar is on big wages It beggars belief, what has he ever shown to be given a big contract? Are we talking around 50k per week? There surely needs to be a structure where first team stars are paid a bracket say between 90-120k, squad rotation players 50-70k, backup players 20-40k and young players coming through dependent on perceived future ability between 5-15k Degen and jovanovic I can see as no fee was paid but I am guessing they are in the upper echelon of the wage bracket Which is scandalous
Please reply interested to know who previously negotiated these contracts and who negotiates contracts now. {Ed002's Note - Degen is paid something in excess of £60k per week and El Zhar in excess of £30k per week. It does not matter who put the various deals together as they have in some cases existed for years and in some are leftover from last summer, but the owners are looking at a simple formula for return on investment. You do not need to know anything about football to figure out that the finances relating to wages etc are a real mess. Fortunately the owners are responsible enough to make the commitment to figure this out.

18 Jul 2011 10:35:38
Hello eds. Do you think that if Fiorentina buys Aquilani, that could include a switch between him and Vargas? {Ed002's Note - I think it would be a great solution but I somehow doubt Vargas will be moving to Liverpool and that a loan to buy deal is most likely. It needs to be done urgently as Fiorentina are looking for an answer for their midfield issues this week. Vargas is also of interest to Aston Villa amongst others.}

Hi eds, Liverpool left back Chris Mavinga, 20, hopes to complete his £1million move to Rennes 2day after the clubs agreed a fee. However, Liverpool have distanced themselves from a move for Lyon left-back Aly Cissokho despite claims a £9.5m deal was imminent. How true is this ed?? I hope we get cissokho, we need a LB, what happened last year, we Struggled that position. Redman {Ed002's Note - I guess you have not read anything I have written about Cissokho for the past few days. So, for hopefully a final time now: An enquiry had been made with Lyon about the availability of Cissokho - this is about 10 days ago. Since then Lyon have gone off to a training camp in Austria where Cissokho was due to join them and didn't; returned to Lyon to train where Cissokho did not show up - albeit the club were not expecting him to; and Saturday they have played and lost a friendly with Genk in Belgium. The fans have certainly turned against the player in recent weeks. Cissokho's agents were informed last week that they need to find their client a new club and that Lyon would listen to offers. Other clubs who have shown an interest include Benfica, Juventus and Roma but nobody has made an acceptable offer as far as I know - certainly not Liverpool. There has been interest - which has been discussed exhaustively over the past 10 days, but talks of an agreed fee and a transfer were very premature to say the least. However, Lyon do accept that Cissokho or Bastos will leave. It is probably not worth me explaining what Lyon would be looking for to let the player go.}

Mata will be our new number 10 after players are moved on in the comming weeks... My sources say KK is a great fan of the spanish international and will go all out to signe him.

18 Jul 2011 09:35:53
Morning Eds. From what I can gather, any concerted push in the transfer market from now on may be put on hold until some of the deadwood is offloaded. Is this primarily to raise funds or to significantly lower the wage bill? I only ask because barring aquilani and meireles, I don't really see any of the rest fetching too much in terms transfer fees.

Cheers, Greggers {Ed002's Note - It is to both remove money from the wage bill and to raise some money. From a strategic standpoint Liverpool need to know where they stand over players who will be leaving, what wasges will be saved, what money will be coming in and what the staff costs will be for next season. The club carries a fair number of fringe players that are not going to be a loss to the squad from a footballing perspective but will unburden the finances. This includes the likes of El Zhar who is costing more than £30k per week, Mavinga (who will likely sign for Rennes tomorrow or Wednesday) and Degen who is on a very high wage but still not 100% fit. I am told this morning that Fiorentina are pushing for an answer about Aquilani in the next few days but it remains unclear if they are looking to buy the player or take him on loan - I am trying to find out. The other relevant costs are those associated with releasing any of the players from their contracts - which could prove very costly.}

Hey ed, are you aware of any reasons as to why there seems to be such a lack of interest in Aquilani amogst Serie A teams? I mean there is no denying he is talented, back in the Italian National side, and if correct at 10mil Euros would be an absolute steal. So I was wondering if you aware of any issues or pereceptions of him that might be scaring Serie A teams away?

DownUnderRed. {Ed009's Note - I imagine it is mainly the fact that they feel they can afford to hold us to ransom. They have long known that he is desperate to leave, and that we are willing to sell him. That puts them in a very powerful position. Perhaps John Henry's stance of being willing to keep the player will help somewhat. Italian teams are often not so financially strong as well, the obvious exceptions aside.}

18 Jul 2011 01:12:37
who do u think we will go for next ed {Ed009's Note - Perhaps Cissokho, perhaps Dann. We may not see any more incomings for a few weeks though, until a fair amount of deadwood is sold on.}

18 Jul 2011 07:50:28
On the Pacheco/Coventry loan cancellation, someone from CC was quoted as saying (something like) that LFC wanted him "closer to Merseyside". I'm not 100% sure what that's supposed to imply, but my immediate thought was Blackpool, but then the Bruna story started to circulated. I suspect that we're holding off on a deal until a few other things fall into place first.

Hey Ed whats up with Maxi?
Weren't his old club interested in him?

Is he leaving or not?

Hello ed, Any clubs tryin to get El zhar. Fe's 25 and has no part fr the club. {Ed002's Note - He will be tough to unload due to his very high wages.}

Liverpool left back Chris Mavinga, 20, hopes to complete his £1million move to Rennes on Monday after the clubs agreed a fee.
However, Liverpool have distanced themselves from a move for Lyon left-back Aly Cissokho despite claims a £9.5m deal was imminent.

Ed's Joel Campbell, on the verge of signing for Arsenal, but a second legendary English club has made an offer thats from his father, think it could be us? 19, two footed and plays as a striker/winger in and for Costa Rica, and has impressed at the Copa America.

Hey Ed's. My source has gone away for a few days without his phone or any forms of communication (Hes gone with his wife, its supposed to be some kind of relaxing spa thing, but I'm not to sure really). Anyway, I was hoping you could shed some light on Aquilani. I know he wants to leave but is he the kind of guy to do J-Lescott (before he went to city)? Also, I know you said there is interest in Italy, but do you think he would stay in the EPL with another club or abroad somewhere other than Italy? Final thing, I've seen reports saying City might be interested, any truth in this? I know most of this would be guess work, but if you could shed any light on this I would Apreciate it. And

Thanks, Janes. {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that he wants to play in Italy. I don't see him screwing around and if he needs to stay I am sure he will get on with it. I know nothing of interest from City - Manchester, Stoke or Bristol.}

I would be perfectly happy with only one more addition , the addition of Cahill from Bolton the future of liverpools solid back line. I fully trust our youngsters and there abilities with flannas Kelly etc. I still think some people will leave but I feel maxi has alot more to give to our club over a season period and hope he stays. I hope merieles stays as we would certainly have the best most naturally gifted midfields in the prem. My question to everyone is will we bid for Cahill? Does anybody have any info on a possible Cahill transfer? Eds? {Ed002's Note - I would guess that Arsenal are in pole.}
