Hi,
Willian finally ending up at Spurs now? The Times reporting that he will decide tomorrow whether he will sign for Tottenham. Sad news.

We can't lost out to him, just offer the money!

Bull this isn't even close to a possibility unless bales leaves. Spuds have spent 60 mil and no way do they drop another 30 mil on a play without selling.

I looked on the times web site couldn't see anythng about it the mirror on the other hand has a article about spurs ready to gazuump lfc 25 million offer by paying 30 they may well bid for him avb is a fan but I can't see him making his mind up where he wants to go if no fee has yet been agreed with anzhi if spurs have put the biggest offer in then its up to us to match or he goes to spurs or any 1 else who will meet the asking price but i'm not sure if the mirror article is reliable or just made up rubbish to sell papers probably the second option but time will tell

Liverpool are still favorites to sign Wilian despite rumors that spurs are interested if Bale is sold. Goal is reporting spurs will not sell Bale at any cost. I take that to mean they don't have the funds.

Now iv just found a telegraph article saying the same thing whilst the fail are reporting were still pushing ahead for the move are still favourites to sign him i'm just going to be patient see what happens first but the papers do seem to like the clubs going up against each other for signings stories couple of days ago was man u after him too yesterday newcastle today spurs probably will be arsenal tomorrow let's see what happens if we missed
Agree3

Don't worry about it. Plenty of other decent players up for grabs. Willian signing probably means Bale is a goner. They can sign all the players they want but only 11 can play. Our first 11 easily matches theirs. I'd be confident in our 11 to get results this year and finish above Spurs.

Miss information, they reported he will choose between tottenham or us. Not really bothered if he chooses them, rather have committed players and not players looking for another stepping stone ala suarez.
If he really was an LFC fan he would not need any time to think about a decision so I guess we move on to our next target.

Times, Telegraph and Independent all reporting the same thing re Willian and Spurs.

If he wants to come, he'll come. Otherwise we move on. Personally I prefer Turan.

Spurs odds on favrouites with bookies now someone really does need to sack Ian Ayre he is useless!
Agree2
Disagree6
Because the media are reporting him going to Spurs doesn't mean he's going there. Same for him coming to Liverpool. I would of thought after the Costa and HM deals didn't happen people would be reluctant to pay attenuation to media reports. Also us and Spurs are often linked to the same player, it's not new.
Agree8
Disagree0
And being bookies favourite to sign a player means nothing too, cast your mind back to when we were favourite to sign Ribery. Just because its written down doesn't mean it's true.
Agree8
Disagree1
Willian would definitely choose Liverpool simply because spurs cannot afford the 110 000 pounds a week Liverpool have offered. Spurs can only go 90 000 a week, which is their wage cap. He even realises the history of the club by saying that Liverpool are a 'great club'.
Agree3
Disagree2
Stop panicking! The Times are simply following the betting trend (see sly sports). The people are betting are just fans like you and me. Willian will choose a team after teams meet Anzhis asking price. No one but the player and his agent know where he is going to go and they are keeping quiet on the matter. let's all just wait and see rather than worry about something we have no control over!
Agree4
Disagree1
Just to clarify a few things:
- Ian Ayre isn't involved in the Willian deal - Billy Hogan is.
- Spurs have matched our bid on Sunday
- Willian has asked for time to review both options but has told LFC that he will make a decision today (Monday)
- Spurs will probably not offer as much in wages as LFC
- It would be sensible to assume that Bale is going because Willian plus the other spending Spurs has been record breaking for them.
We will see today how things pan out.
Agree4

I couldn't care less. There are plenty of good players.
I watched Spurs play. I didn't see anything to fear.
Our main problem right now is defence. We need someone who is dominant in the air.
Agree0

Agreed fireball - great to have Willian and great performance first up but look vulnerable in the air - reckon another CB should be the priority
Agree0

Don't really rate Willian anywhere near the price being asked, not bothered if he joins either way, I won't feel we missed out. If we're going to splash cash in that region there are better player to purchase.

As I have mentioned a good while ago we are Spurs scouting buddies, we like, then intrested, then make an offer - so slow then Spurs pounce
As this will happen again to Willian, getting peeved with all this, stop piddling about and do it, another marquee signing missed.
You can see the headlines now from BR, we were so close in some key targets but money could not be agreed etc. load of tosh and then other teams pounced.
I don't even think Lucan or Coutinhio would make a difference as Brazilian - he would rather go to London?
No more signings now - that's it - you heard it first here.

Cissokho?? Anonymous poster! Pipe down and let the window unfold! A couple more signings will come and we will be nicely placed to have a good go! Up the reds!

Well Mr "You heard it here first". I'll call you that since you don't have a username. I've lost count of the number of posts on here where someone says "just sign the cheque"! Funny we DID just sign the cheque for a lot of players now gone and most posters saying "thank God he's gone he was useless"! These guys cost us a fortune though.As it happens last I heard Willian still hasn't signed for anyone and speaking for myself I'm not that fussy whether we sign him or not. I'm pretty sure there are options just as good available for less than £30 million plus.

Hi eds, are we interested in Leandro Damiao? i'm hearing we might go after him to replace Suarez also do you think suarez would leave even if arsenal bid around the 50m mark
thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know of Liverpool interest in Leandro Damiao but it would not be out of the question. It has been made clear to Arsenal that Suarez would welcome the move but Liverpool would clearly prefer to sell elsewhere.}

Thanks for the reply eds, do you think we are close to signing william? i'm hearing now spurs are in a bid war with us? {Ed002's Note - At the moment Liverpool have proposed a figure to his agent that does not meet the minimum valuation that Anzhi want for the player.}

I seriously hope he leaves! {Ed002's Note - There remains a good chance they will.}

Ed do Juventus or Munich still hold an interest in Suarez? {Ed002's Note - Juventus no. Munich perhaps, and certainly if anything happens with Lewandowski I would think they will.}

Don't you think Henry, Rodgers and the club in general would stop any Suarez' sale for anything but ridiculous "silly money" like 65M+? They would lose a lot of credibility after some of the adamant comments they've made.

Real madrid will complete a move for bale this summer, ruling Suarez out. Madrid will play Ronaldo as a central striker if benzema is injured or subbed, according to Ancelloti. Ancelloti said, " We have the best striker in the world in Christiano Ronaldo". He futher said that ' We do not need another striker '. So don't expect a bid from madrid, or suarez to leave.

Ed02, but do you see Lewandowski going anywhere this summer (I know he wasn't supposed to)? He's looked rather less than at a full level of commitment in BVB's first few games and I can't imagine that's gone unnoticed by Klopp {Ed002's Note - There remains a chance that Lewandowski will still move this summer as I alluded to above. There remains interest from at least two sides and there is every chance of a bid in the next two weeks that will be acceptable to the club, but it will still be in the hands of the player. It doesn't involve Liverpool.}

Ed02, Are ROMA in financial trouble?
They have just sold Marquinhos for 30M, about to sell Osvaldo for atleast 15M and rumours of them willing to business for Lamela and Pjanic even D'Rossi.
I mean that is the main core of their team, young with potential (except D'Rossi) so why all this?
Surely it would be in their interest to keep atleast Lamela and Pjanic as their value will increase with each passing season. {Ed002's Note -Roma has had financial problems of several years and, like Liverpool in a way, are in a difficult position with the FFP rules after their qualification for the Champions League and now the Europa Cup has dropped away. Add to this the impact on their turnover which has lacked the growth associated with being in the major European Competition has seen them look to bring themselves in line financially. Marquinos and Bojan Krkic being sold has balanced the books and a deal for Osvaldo to leave is very near to being finalised. Pjanic will, I expect, be subject to a bid from Spurs if they fail to secure another target. Lamela is really a separate matter from the others.}

Hey eds just read that Napoli has agreed a deal with Cagliari for CB Davide Astori. Does this end speculation that Skrtel will be leaving? (At least to Naples)
With Kolo Toure looking solid I wouldn't mind just keeping Skrtel as cover in my opinion. This would mean we might not look to sign another CB and allow us to focus on other areas. I think Willian is a real potential now and I hear Cissokho is as good as done pending a medical. Amazing win yesterday. Went mental when Simon made that double save. let's go reds! YNWA {Ed002's Note - He won't be going to Napoli now.}

Ed, so now he stays or goes to Zenit?
or is there someone else in for him. {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}
Agree2

Its a shame, I was hoping we would bring in a dominant CB, but with it looking likely that both Skrtel and Coates are staying we are unlikely to bring in anyone else. Sakho or Papa would have been ideal but hay hum we have to make do with a very good, but a little short Toure.

Hi eds, tried to post a few times recent but obviously the daily repeat questions about Suarez take priority ;-)
Anyways I have posted previously about michu being a real target from the only info I had, not sure if he is still an option but again yesterday he showed how good he is.
I would take him and 20 mill change over Suarez anyday or just buy him over willian, cheaper and proven
What are your thoughts or a move for michu and how he would suit LFC?
Daniellambretta {Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts about Liverpool making any move for Michu at this time Daniella.}
Believable3
Unbelievable19
I was under the impression Willian was a winger/wide midfielder while michu is a striker. They are two different positions daniella and not connected in any way.
Hence with us selling downing we would require somebody to take up the left forward position and free up coutinho to go back in the middle as an attacking midfielder. Ibe and sterling are not quiet ready for the wings week in week out otherwise we will burn them out. Look how badly sterling faded last season, so willian or a player of his ilk is highly likely. I would take either of willian or turan, both I think would do a good job for us.
Now if and most likely when suarez goes we will undoubtedly look at a goal scoring forward to replace his goals and then I could understand your wish to buy michu.
Agree2
Disagree0
Michu has no pace, not sure how he would fit in with BR's game plan? Just seems like a goal hanger to me?
Agree1
Disagree1
I can see no move for Michu at present. If Suarez were to join say Real during the NEXT window by then we would have some idea whether Michu is a genuine class act or a one season wonder. I remember both on this site and in the Liverpool Echo the wails that the Reds should have signed Nikica Jelavic. My God we'd missed out on a cheap world class striker. I've not heard anyone this window asking why we haven't put in a "cheeky bid" for him and with his form last season I know why. Let's see if Michu bangs in the goals in the first half of this season and we'll know if he's up to EPL standards full time.
Agree1
Disagree1
Noooooooo we need a winger someone to complement the team we have in place not to change the whole thing around, we don't want to push sturridge out wide or have a huge signing sit on the bench because a player we bought for £12m is on form.
michu would not be good for this team.

I would have thought it was Daniel rather than Daniella?
Daniel lambretta?
Either way I agree Michu would be a good buy.

Willian didn't even feature on the bench for Anzhi yesterday, is he injured or is he just out touting his services around Europe. Surely if you are trying to sell players the best way is to play them especially in a big match against Zenit.

Newcastle recently pulled out of a £7 million attempt to buy a player and if Willian is on offer at around £30 million I doubt they can compete. I'm still not certain that we'll go to £30 mill for him but it's wait and see time.
