Ed001, have you had anything more on Yalany Baio since you said that a scout at a lower league team told you he thinks that Baio might be about to get into the first team?

Thanks {Ed001's Note - nothing new, I am hoping to speak to an acquaintance who works for Brum over the weekend, as I am taking my daughter up there to see some stupid wrestling thing. Hopefully he will get the chance to meet up while there and I will see if he has heard anything if we do.}

He carnt get a game for u18s but he's going to get in first team? I know wer not very good right now but don't think wer that bad!

Everyone else posts what players they want us to sign and how many so eds what is your opinion (realistically) on who you would sign in the summer? I personally would love to see 1. eriksen/alonso (unlikely I know) 2. De vrij, 3. williams and 4. turan but that won't happen so probably ince and I would like to give Carroll a chance considering we lack height and strength and he gives us an option if we need a goal. I'm sick of seeing us not being able to mount a fight in the last quarter of a Game {Ed002's Note - I would not discount the players you have mentioned completely. I have explained the situation with regards to Eriksen and De Vrij and the interest from Liverpool. Alonso interests Galatasaray as I have said - if Liverpool want to go down that route he might welcome a return but price and age may not suit everyone. Williams I fear they may be interested in but Swansea were not aware when I last checked - but that was some weeks ago. Ince, would not be a surprise. Arda Turan will almost certainly move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England, Germany and Italy with rapidly increasing interest from Germany with both Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 declaring they would like to take the player. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they did not want to sell in January. There is an outside chance of a return to Turkey.}

Everyone mentioned except bleeding Williams let's have Zouma or Sergio Ramos (HA HA I WISH) and that would be are best transfer coup in 10yrs!

I would expect that BR will only have around 20m to spend plus sales as per last window. Clearly cover for CB, DM are the areas we need strengthening on and people should stop looking for the glory signings of strikers. We scored more goals than any other team up until a couple of weeks ago so unless Suarez goes I only see a winger or back up striker being added and that is dependant on a number of other players futures ie downs, borini, assidi and whether BR wants to continue prmoting from within ie sterling and suso to be given more playing time.

Yo eds, i'm sick of reading we have no chance of this player no chance of that player he won't come to lfc etc.
So plain and simple question for you- which players are we ACTUALLY looking at, at the moment.
Much appreciated.

Shabba! {Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts - where there is interest it is stated. People are just listing players at random that they find on games or people like Isco, Falcao, Hummels, Cavani etc. who are simply not going to be moving to the club.}

Ive read through a lot of posts and all I seem to read is we might have interest, who is there actual solid interest from what you eds know?

I haven't read of any concrete interest in anyone. Most of u guys just mmmin and rrrrrin

Sorry to sound a moaning bell but I just want to know which players exactly. Thanks again

18 Apr 2013 18:29:54
Isco would be fun to have on the team I have to admit. Shame

I understand what you are saying Ed, people have unrealistic expectations about who we can sign - but I'm like Shabba - I can't think of one player after reading through evry post, every day, that we are likely to sign. Our scouts have been to Ajax as we know - but neither Alderweireld or eriksen look likely. What other players would we look at from Ajax?

Fowler99 {Ed002's Note - As I explained - there is interest from Liverpool in Eriksen and Liverpool may well of been impressed by the performances of Alderweireld. If you want a wild card from me - Boilesen.}

Eriksen, Alderweireld and Boilesen? Triple swoop on Ajax!

Eds, please if you could give us any info on Eriksen that would be great. Would he consider a move to us? {Ed001's Note - it really is going to depend on who he has the choice of. It is likely he will be moving on, so we have at least some chance, but he has always maintained publicly a desire to go to Spain to play.}

18 Apr 2013 14:50:04
Yeah, i'd be surprised if Real Madrid hasn't had him monitored for future if they have clear out. Mourinho for starters :-D

The problem with him is that everytime he's asked about a club being interested, he's always "flattered" and it's his "dream" to play for them. First it was the Spanish Giants, then it was Arsenal and Liverpool, I think Manchester United were also mentioned a few times by him also.

Erikson is a player that needs a defender behind him in midfield so he can roam. eriksen would be a fool to end up at real/barca man. c he will struggle to get into their team right now. man u don't need him having kawaga/cleverly madrid have modric on the bench abrce have some real talented midf on the bench. we have a chance if we can convince him that we will be buying 3/4 class players and that we are the up and coming team. the top teams in the premier league rotate more often than they do in spain.

If he does come in can see him having one eye on Spain so I'd put a big buy out clause on him ha fact

When he does decide to leave and the ball gets rolling, there will be several clubs wanting to sign him. Several clubs who can offer Champions League football and can almost guarantee it year in, year out. I think he will join City in the end. He seems to be kissing their ass at the moment.

Disney!

Can you shed any light on our interest in Jonny Williams of Crystal Palace? {Ed001's Note - all I know of it is that we have had him watched repeatedly and a quiet chat about what it would take for them to let him go. According to the person I spoke to at the club, we are one of 10 (yes TEN) Premier League clubs watching him on a regular basis. Man Utd were wanting both him and Zaha when they did the deal for Zaha, but settled for Zaha as Palace had no intention of letting Williams go yet. Unless they decide they want the money for him, I don't expect him to move this summer, apparently he is happy to stay and continue to develop with regular football. From what he has said to people, it seems he wants to see how Zaha gets on next season, before making a decision on what move would benefit his career. I don't think he wants to move to sit on the bench, by the sounds of it.}

I've watched this lad a few times for Wales and he's bossed the midfield in the last 2 games! Hope we sign him!

About Eriksen I always thought whilst we may be interested, that there's no chance. But I am very surprised by the comments made by the Ajax press manager just now saying. "We will send out a press release when there is an agreement with Liverpool". WHEN there is an agreement, not IF but when are the words used, and he's referred to us specifically.

Is that just bad English on that guys part, or are we really pushing for a deal? I fear they may just use us for settling on a fee (£15m maybe) so other clubs then can negotiate a deal with the player more easily. Hope not though, with those comments the situation must have changed somewhat though maybe we're at the front of the queue for him. RC

{Ed002's Note - That is not what he said. The point of his answer is to say that reports stating Liverpool and Ajax have agreed a deal are not true. Nothing else. The situation remains unchanged - and I have explained that ad nauseum.}

Ed002- As you are often correct and up to date with your information, who do you believe we could go for as the attacking player/players Rodgers may be after as he stated recently on a certain TV show? I for one don't believe there is a chance in Eriksen as I personally don't think he's up to the challenge of the Premiership and wants to play elsewhere {Ed002's Note - Interest has been shown in wide forwards with an effort in January to take a winger on loan - I suspect Ince's name will be back in the frame. I would not discount a move for Dzsudzsak again. The defence remains the priority. Much else will depend on who leaves.}

hi guys, rojas is off to the Bundesliga, but getting loaned back to the A-league (prob with melbourne) straight away. i'd love to see him at LFC if he's good enough, maybe in a couple years.

Has been scouted last year and that was that. Don't think we'll be hearing his name again anytime soon especially now that we have Coutinho who is def better option. Well happy we managed to get him and hope he fulfils his contract length. Fingers crossed.

U are wrong my friend. He has agreed to join LFC

He has potential but he isn't up to a Pemier League standard at the moment and may never be - to be honest he wouldn't add anything new to the squad

Liverpool still have an interest in Wilfried Bony but so do Chelsea. Apparently LFC made an enquiry about Bony in January. {Ed002's Note - I wouldn't hold your breath.}

I can't see it happening either ed but I am assured that we do have Interest. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool might want to make that interest known to his agent because he is actively talking to ther clubs about the player and knows nothing of it.}

18 Apr 2013 13:26:36
Forgive me if I am wrong but isn't Bony a CF? If so why would we want him? Unless Suarez is serious about jumping ship {Ed002's Note - If nothing else it adds options and depth.}

Ed I have been assured that we are interested, whether we have made our interest known to them I don't know. {Ed002's Note - A bit like a secret crush then.}

Haha if you like ed.

Is there any interest in Rob Hall of West Ham (currently on loan at Bolton) as he is out of contract this Summer and I read somewhere that we were linked so thought I'd check here. Cheers {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any.}

18 Apr 2013 09:33:14
At least the Dede move can mean that's one ( that was never going to happen ) off the list.

18 Apr 2013 16:12:38
Was he even mentioned before? 1st i've heard of it. {Ed002's Note - The Liverpool interest predated Rodgers.}

18 Apr 2013 07:33:57
Honestly has there been any official offer for eriksen or is it all talk he cause I really want him because he's quality and has a great future- ginger red {Ed002's Note - This has been done to death. Please use the search function or read the posts.}

18 Apr 2013 08:42:49
Marc Overmars has said (apparently) to media that LFC's have been to see Eriksen the most compared to other clubs and it has been noted. That's what I read but still don't believe it's enough to persuade him to join SURELY he would be after champions league. I know he's really young and developing still but isn't he of very strong interest with AC Milan? If so my money is on them to be honest. Gary.

I still think eriksen will come to england but NOT Liverpool

Couple of seasons ago Spurs managed to sign top players without CL football and a wage cap (I think?). Also Newcastle, look at some of those French internationals who left CL teams or could have joined other CL teams but chose Newcastle. Never say never. Not fussed about Eriksen, I've heard he is hit and miss just potential, but to say we have no chance is stupid
