Eds, first time poster, daily reader for years now. Thanks for all that you do.

Quick question - Any chance we go for Christian Pulisic? Looks like a real talent. And also looks like arguably the most exciting American prospect. Think it would be good marketing for FSG in the States to continue to spread the LFC brand by locking up the most promising American prospect. Looks like a win-win. I know he was mentioned a while back, but haven't heard anything in a while and was wondering if there was any update.

Cheers.

Believable9 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Dortmund certainly won't be open to selling Pulisic - John Hackworth got Klinsmann to look at him not to long ago and he did arrive at Dortmund when Klipperty was there. The push would likely of come from someone under Zorc to take him there. Perhaps a long term replacement for Reus? Real Madrid and Manchester City have been looking.

And do Liverpool really need yet another AM player?}

17 May 2016 16:43:53
Fun fact about Pulisic. Spent about a year in England and played for my local club, absolute top draw. Can't remember why he was in England but we were about 6 or 7. Pointless info I know but it makes me feel inadequate seeing him playing for Dortmund and me still in sixth form!

Pretty impressive he's only 17.

Ed002, thanks for your reply. And in response to your question, I would think (assume) at age 17 he'd be ok being a rotation player to begin?

Agree7 Disagree12

{Ed002's Note - One of the clubs will leave hime where he is for a year for purposes of insurance. He is certainly not going to be getting in to the first team of either side just yet.}

18 May 2016 03:45:37
Another fun fact, Christian is from my old stomping grounds and hometown, Hershey Pennsylvania. Chocolate town USA. thank god he escaped!

Considering Goetze injury history, wage demands, Klopp's ability to nurture talent, Pulisic might be a better/ safer long term buy that Goetze.

Hi Eds, any truth to report that we're one of 3 teams to enquire about Porto's Brahimi?

Thanks.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - Brahimi is certainly of interest to others but I am not aware of Liverpool looking to him. And is another AM player really what the club wants?}

18 May 2016 12:45:04
Didn't you hear ed? Next season's formation is 0-0-10-0.

At least Migs won't be in goal then!

Is it true that canos' contract talks have stalled? That he may be free to leave? I know the squad needs trimming but I thought he was well thought if for the future can the eds shed any light on the matter?

Believable3 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - there has been a few issues yes. There are offers on the table for him to consider, from abroad as well. I do expect him to stay, as must Klopp or he would not have been brought on.}

17 May 2016 13:34:35
Eds. Do you know anything about Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - last I heard West Ham were after him, but that is about the extent of my knowledge of him off the top of my head.}

17 May 2016 22:15:14
He is too drawer, has been since his debut at Rennes. He's now part of the current crop of talents the Algerian team has that includes Feghouli, Ghoulam, Slimani and of course, Mahrez.

so if we're to believe the rumours, with the young polish lad we'll have a CM squad of Allen, allan, Milner, Can, Hendo, Grujic, Lucas, Stewart, Brannagan, not to mention Lallana, Couts, Firmino, Ibe, ojo and Marcovic. Did I miss anyone? 16 players for 5 positions. We're going to need some clear out. Has anyone heard of any info regarding players leaving? allen to swansea?
Cheers.

Chirivella and Canos as well.

17 May 2016 14:42:00
Maybe Lucas 4th choice CB next year.

Agree0 Disagree12

17 May 2016 14:45:20
Considering Lallana, Couts, Firmino, Ibe, Ojo, Marko Don`t play CM there positions are Wingers or CAM? so they should not be included in that pile, I would say Allan is going to be loaned out again he is not getting a work permit at the moment. Brannangan will probarly go out on loan to develop more, Allen will most likely be sold that leaves Zielinski, Grujic, Can, Hendo, Stewart Milner will be pushed further up the field he is better on the wing and I think Lucas will stay but be used at a complete back up and at CB.

Agree2 Disagree12

17 May 2016 14:33:26
Allen to Swansea isn't the only one I guess.

Agree0 Disagree12

17 May 2016 15:15:57
I am guessing Hendo, Can, Grujic, Stewart will be the senior players to cover deeper midfield positions with occasional cameos from Chirivella

Milner, Llalana, Firmino, Zielinski (if he joins), Coutinho, Markovic, Ojo will all cover he attacking midfield/ wingers roles

Lucas will be a backup at CB

I expect Allen to be sold and Ibe, Allan and possibly Canos to be on loans or sold depending on pre-season

If we sign someone like Gotze we might also see Markovic moved on or perhaps even Llalana or Milner, but think those two are unlikely to move given recent performances (unless a huge bid from somewhere! )

There's my 2c!

Agree1 Disagree13

17 May 2016 18:26:34
So this whole Zielinski deal. Isn't he/ his agent playing the come-and-get-me game a little too much? Been thinking we might not be all that interested, because if we were the Zielinski camp would be a lot more quiet by now.

Ed's. Do you know of Klopp bringing in a new goalkeeping coach for next season?
As much as Mignolet is not the best keeper. Do you think the coaching plays a part in his form?

Believable1 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - I have believed the goalie coaching has been an issue since we lost Valero. We 100% need a new coach, though Achteberg is a great bloke, he is not a great, or even good, coach. I expected him to be the first replaced, but he seems to have slotted in with the rest, so I would not hold my breath on him being replaced.}

17 May 2016 11:12:56
Thanks for the reply ed.
I think all of us jointly share the shock that he is yet to be replaced.
Do you think it's a matter of Klopp having someone in mind and them not being available yet?

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - no.}

17 May 2016 12:19:35
Lets not forget klopp was perfectly happy with weidenfeller who himself is not a good keeper.

Agree2 Disagree10

17 May 2016 13:26:20
Who's the bayern goal keeping coach .?!

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - Toni Tapalovic.}

17 May 2016 14:43:19
Lfcfan_03beef, Weidenfeller is a good GK, not a great GK but he's certainly better than most.

17 May 2016 17:41:23
Ed's I don't know if you have heard or seen the links with Chelsea's goalkeeping coach being approached. I saw that somewhere yesterday. can't think of his name now. Petr Cech has talked him up previously about how much he improved his game.

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - Christophe Lollichon. I am not aware of Liverpool approaching him. It would obviously be an issue if they have made a direct approach.}

18 May 2016 05:56:31
Sorry Rd002, I meant to write Lollichon was mentioned in the link, not approached. Obviously I take most links with a grain of salt, just thought i'd mention what I saw as goalkeeping coaches were being spoken about.

So ed's have the Karius and Zielinski deals actually been done to your knowledge? Or are we still getting ahead of ourselves a little? Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - getting ahead. Grujic and Matip are the only deals that have been completed for next season.}

17 May 2016 10:41:29
Haven't actually seen a concrete answer from the Eds yet as I think they weren't 100% sure yesterday, but can the Eds confirm that we've put in a bid for Karius? (or are we getting ahead of ourselves again haha)
Thanks for all the good work on this site!

P. S. I'm feeling even more jittery about the match tomorrow than my graduating final exams next week hahaha

Kopchu!

Agree1 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - a bid? Not as such. We have spoken to Mainz though. Bids are not thrown about the way people talk about, many deals are done without any such thing as a formal bid being presented.}

17 May 2016 10:58:32
Hi ED001. Haven't heard your thoughts on Karius. What do you think of him?

Agree1 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - not seen a lot of him. I have heard a lot of good things about him, but not from anyone I would trust to judge a keeper. So I have no thoughts, just going to wait and see how he gets on.}

17 May 2016 01:28:45
Eds, can I ask a question about goalkeepers and the first team squad.

With it looking like Karius is close to coming in and the likelihood he is here to push Migs, so Migs is staying. Bogdan gone. Where does that leave Danny Ward? He is the same age as Karius, so i'm assuming that Klopp doesn't rate him as good enough to push for no.1 OR, is it good practise to have 3 GK's all capable of pushing for no.1 spot - and all will be told this, hopefully improving the performance week in week out.

Alternatively, do you see another loan for Ward?

Thanks as always - hard to believe how insightful this page is!

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I believe they want another loan for Ward.}

17 May 2016 07:43:23
I've heard he's already been lined up to go to Huddersfield for the season on loan with a recall option. Should be a good move for all parties.

Agree8 Disagree7

17 May 2016 08:31:08
Ed do you think Karius will be straight in as number 1 or is it looking likely Mignolet will stay first choice.

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

17 May 2016 09:13:26
We will be in the Champion's League, so I expect they will both be given games and a chance to stake their claim as Number 1. I haven't seen much of Karius, but if he wins that battle with Migs then the Belgian will be let go next summer, just as Ward comes back from a season as Number 1 in the Championship.

Agree4 Disagree5

17 May 2016 10:48:26
Jurgen meister if we lose tomorrow you will have some raw egg on that face of yours mate. Don't get ahead of yourself, it's 90 mins of football and we don't know which Liverpool will turn up. One thing I've learned this season is be prepared for anything.

Agree7 Disagree6

17 May 2016 11:50:11
With Dortmund as well as with Mainz, Klopp used to bring in a new player only to gradually replace the one he is in competition with.
Weidenfeller was replaced slowly, so I could imagine Migs being gradually replaced by Karius.
Now with our big squad I don't know if he'll do the same here.

Agree0 Disagree7

17 May 2016 11:57:14
Kman, my friend, I have chosen to only think in terms of Liverpool winning tomorrow. I can't entertain thoughts of losing or anxiety may get the better of me. Klopp has already made me a believer and I think it's written in the stars. Our dress rehearsal in the League Cup final will work as a benefit and everything WILL click into place on the night.
