German newspaper bild are saying we have agreed a deal for Emre Can?

Believable28 Unbelievable13

Is is the mirror but yesterday we were in for Hazard and the day before we we in for shaqiri.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, It was in the Mirror yesterday, but the Mirror was quoting the Daily Star, and the Star in turn were quoting "reports in german media" that Liverpool had enquired.

So the Mirror were just picking up second hand stories from Germany via the Star. Pretty standard lazy journalism.

Liverpool are linked with ac Milan youngster el sharaawy due to not being in the champions league next season at the San Sirio

Believable8 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal and PSG would all like to strike a deal with Milan at some point but El Shaarawy is generally happy where he is and Milan have no intention of selling unless a very significant offer is made. Previous interest from Monaco and Spurs remains unconfirmed and Napoli dropped out of the running over the summer when they signed Callejon, as did Manchester City when they signed Jovetic. Do not be surprised to see an offer from Dortmund, or just possibly Chelsea if they cannot get another target.}

Reports we have made a £12million bid for Emre Can. Any truth eds?

Believable9 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

17 May 2014 16:59:04
Hi ed
Has a bid for Rojo been actually made?looks a great prospect and can also provide cover for sakho as LCB

Believable6 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - No bid has been made and there is now interest from Barcelona as well. Whilst I, like you, think he would be a great buy for the club I rather regret mentioning him at all as he has suffered the usually trashing that prospective players get.}

Now that you've mentioned Barca's interest I'm sure everybody would suddenly claim that he's a world beater and a must signing

S.G.L.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Probably.}

Sorry end if you have already cleared it but what was the confusion you referred to a couple of days ago regarding Rojo and Moreno?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It was about Moreno. It was not Moreno that was enquired about, it was Moreno. You might want to search on Moreno. It has been answered again today.}

I agree would be a very good signing but would pretty much confirm the end of Agger and nobody wants that.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think Agger will be gone this summer.}

Ed what clubs are interested in Agger? Is Barcelona one of them?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Napoli.}

17 May 2014 15:38:36
Hi Eds, apparently we are looking at signing Lovren. Is there anything true about this or is it just rumours? Thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - It sounds like speculation. Liverpool have not made any approach to Southampton about him.}

17 May 2014 14:32:08
Hey Ed's
There has been a lot of recent talk of interest in dani parejo, a player who I do like, who has good technique and is tactically very sound. Despite this, I have to say talk of a bid of around £20m possibly even £25M I find to be expensive considering the alternative replacements we have available.

I was just wondering if you know of anything new in regards to interest in Ivan Rakitic? I truly believe he is the player we need, having watched him this season and being unbelievably impressed with his talent in his all around play on many occasions I think he is the perfect foil for Steven Gerrard in the dynamic central midfield role, similar to that of Henderson.

Thanks Ed's.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - There is a chance that he will agree a new deal with Sevilla and it is likely that Real Madrid will step in with a good offer for him. Chelsea have rekindled interest with some recent discussions and the chance of a player moving exchange. Bayern Munich are keeping a watching brief.}

So no chance of Rakitic now.

Hi Reds, I was just looking on the Official LFC website, and I saw that we have a range of targets, including Southampton's Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana, Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri and Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand. I think Lovren, Lallana and Shaqiri would be brilliant signings but not to sure about Bertrand as he would find it difficult to fit in as Enrique, Johnson and Flanagan as Full backs, so I think he wouldn't fit in, but definitely Lallana, Lovren and Shaqiri would be very good signings.

I have also just seen that Liverpool, Napoli and Manchester United are all interested in Marseille winger Andre Ayew, Napoli have already put in a bid of £5 million, but Liverpool and United are both supposed to be putting better offers in, I think he would be a great addition to our team.

All up top. Don't know what you think but it would be nice to hear!

Thanks for Reading, Josh

Believable2 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - You understand that this is not information provided by the club?}

I could be mistaken but a couple of months back one of the Eds suggested interest in Ayew.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - l'OM are more than happy to sell Andre Ayew and if anyone makes an acceptable offer to both the club and player then he will move on. Knee surgery blocked any chance of a January move but he is now back fit and in the team. Last summer saw some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Dynamo Kyiv. Liverpool also enquired after a guideline price for the player last summer. Right now there has been no firm interest in the player raised with Marseille beyond an offer that is on the table from Napoli. It will be down to his agent to see what other potential suitors there are - probably in Italy or England. The player has suggested he would like to move on to a "better" side and cited Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona as ideal destinations - he will be waiting a long time for that. As of last night, l'OM have not been approached by Liverpool or Manchester United but are aware of speculation.}

Afternoon all, Ed I'm in crete on holiday at the moment and haven't seen a newspaper or had any internet access all week so while I'm in a bar that has wifi can I trouble you with a simple question (as I won't have signal long enough to trawl through the posts)
Any interest in new players in the last week?
Cheers

Believable4 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Interest has be kindled in Ryan Bertrand and there has been interest declared in Hector Moreno.}

BR's been banging on about needing quality this summer and targets Bertrand?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Well whoever Liverpool are interested in will be trashed by the "supporters".}

Ed that's because we are Liverpool and we demand the best! Deal with it buddy

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Idiot.}

It is interest now, he hasn't signed yet. Atleast wait till the lad joins, that is if he ever joins.

Agree2 Disagree0

Who's trashing? Are we not allowed to question certain decisions? I'll support the player if he joins, of course. But surely you can't argue against that the fact we should be targeting a LB of better quality than Bertrand?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Aside from the runt and Mascherano who forced his way out of the club, every Liverpool player, every prospective Liverpool player, the manager, the board and the owners have been trashed on these pages. It is an absolute joke and completely embarrassing given how well the players have performed and where the team ended up this past season.

You want to trash someone over interest in the likes of Ryan Bertrand, try trashing Brendan Rodgers again.}

Someone's woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Not agreeing with a decision or two doesn't mean us as 'supporters' aren't appreciative of what everyone at the club has done and achieved this season so take it down a tone. I actually agree with you in that some of the 'trashing' on these pages is embarrassing but it's a small minority - so don't paint us all with the same brush

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You did not read the answer. Very clearly a large number of "supporters" have a problem with just about all of the players and staff of the club. Go through the "Other" page following any game that Liverpool fail to win. Nobody is "painting" everyone with the same brush (whatever the hell that means). Clearly a lot of concerns are being expressed about the players the club are showing an interest in - so go after Brendan Rodgers, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter. Let them know how poor they are at their jobs - perhaps some sort of hate forum could be worked up on Facebook? How about daubing messages on the walls of Anfield - that worked last time the fans wanted a manager out.}

Sometimes it's not trashing ed it's called an opinion mate. Also so what if the fans have high standards and I don't appreciate being called an person.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not calling you a person - just an idiot.}

We should support any prospective signing, all the players have been saying how much Rodgers has improved them in technique and more importantly tactically. We are not going to compete with the financial packages that the wealthier clubs can afford. The best course for us is to improve players with potential or promote from within. We need to flesh out the squad with European football on the horizon, Bertrand could be another player who can grow, as part of our team, and BR's management. He is also affordable and has a point to prove.

After Lucas and Henderson have shown us how they have improved, we should give players time to settle in the team and support them.

Agree2 Disagree0

Very ..........

{Ed002's Note - Nobody edited you post. We don't need cretins like you on the site. Just stay away from now on.}

Lmfao, this was a great read.

Totally agree with Ed02. The fact is, any player we sign, hasn't played in our exact system yet, so everyone is basing their opinion on how well they played in their clubs system.

Look at Torres for example, he was excellent in our system and dribble in Chelsea's(although he was and still is very broken too).
Schevchenko is another great example, won european player of the year, then was written off at Chelsea the following season.
Charlie Adam was decent at Blackpool, but then wasn't that decent at Liverpool, Downing too.

There are very few players in the world who you can just throw into any old system and perform to a high standard.

Ryan Bertrand might be very good at Liverpool. I didn't want Sturridge because I didn't think he was that good at Chelsea, but now look at him.

Rodgers and co know they are doing, it's their "job".

good day eds and reds,
i was thinking about a position in the team in which I believe we are quite overloaded.the attacking midfield role.we have coutinho, suso, teixeira and alberto.
now obviously coutinho is the first choice and currently better than the rest.
talking about the other three lads, suso is my choice to be the next big thing.he is good technically, got good vision, and has a bit of a bite in his play.ive not seen teixeira play that often but the others on here feel he is a better prospect than suso.alberto is bit of a mystery to me.he's a good talent and the small glimpses I've seen of him in the league he has been pretty decent.nothing fancy but gets the job done.but yet his playing time was very limited.
i for one would like to see all three staying at the club to see how they develop within our squad.
do u guys think they would all stay and what are your thoughts on them?ed1 would like to get to know your opinion as well if your around.
cheers

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You can add to that the club are also attempting to strike a deal for Lallana. There was some interest in Coutinho but right now I expect him to stay. Suso will want to stay but will ask for commitments from the club - there is certainly interest in him from Spain. Alberto has let himself and the club down and I suspect he will leave this summer with interest from Spain and perhaps an option in England. Teixeira has, as far as I know, never played for the first team. Perhaps a loan is an option for him.}

I'm assuming this was albertos drink driving charge? I read about that about a month ago but it seemed like no one mentioned or talked of it in the press so I thought maybe charges were dropped or something along those lines. I guess that's why he stopped appearing in the match day squad for not football related reasons.

Agree1 Disagree0

Texiera played briefly for the first team against Fulham when Gerrard scored a last minute penalty ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

On 12 February 2014, after some positive pre-match words from Brendan Rodgers about the young starlet's progress in first-team training, Teixeira made his Liverpool debut, coming on as a substitute wearing the number 53 shirt in a 3-2 win at Fulham. He impressed in his cameo, and played a part in the build up play that ultimately led to Liverpool's match-winning penalty. Teixeira broke a Liverpool record as his shirt number 53 was the highest number Liverpool had ever fielded.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - So he was a regular last season.}

I do not think Teixeira is a better prospect that Suso, especially when Suso is slightly younger. IMO, Teixeira needs first team games, regularly and he will need to be loaned to achieve this.

Like I opined earlier, Alberto will be leaving. Suso has one more year left on his contract and he will seek assurances that he has a long term future at the club before he signs a neal deal, if offered.

Agree1 Disagree1

About as regular as you or I but I put that down to a balanced diet.

Agree1 Disagree0

Teixeira has promise, but I think he needs more physical strength yet. Suso has had a decent season in Spain (as far as fitness, competition go).
I can see both being at the club come August for LC duties. Will be interesting to see what BR's approach is if the unthinkable happens and we end up in the Europe League after the CL group stages.

Eds, heard from a 50/50 source that Liverpool and Arsenal (and perhaps Manchester United) are preparing for battle to sign Pedro (Barcelona) for around £20m. Any truth? Thanks in advance

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Pedro will wait to see what the Barcelona coach has planned for him and may well need to request a transfer if he wants to leave. Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are known to have enquired with his agent in recent months. PSG has spoken with Barcelona about the player last summer and in January and were told they did not wish to sell him.}

It will be interesting to see what happens here as Pedro is a very good player who could walk straight into our team and improve it. Barcelona have several players who are available Victor Valdes, Dani Alves, Carles Puyol, Javier Mascherano, Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas, Jonathon Dos Santos, Xavi, Christian Tello, Alexis Sanchez, Isaac Cuenca, Bojan Krkic & Keirrison.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - At the moment they are waiting for a new coach to be named (Luis Enrique). They are also aware that January 2016 may well be the next chance they have to buy players so they need to balance those coming through the B system and think about who they can let go and who they can bring in. I would think that Mascherano, Puyol, Sanchez, Valdes, Alex Song and Afellay will move on regardless. The likes of Pedro, Tello, Fabregas and the others you mention will be awaiting the new coach.}

Today's paper talk hold any truths?
Liverpool are preparing a sensational £40m double swoop for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, 26, and defender Dejan Lovren, 24.
Liverpool are on alert as Chelsea consider a loan option for Eden Hazard's 21-year-old brother, Thorgan
Cheers

Believable7 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Yesterday the word was Liverpool were already in talks with Chelsea about buying Thorgan Hazard. So now Liverpool are on alert about a loan for him? Perhaps the reality is that a Liverpool based team, Everton, are on of the sides who are keen to take him on loan? I have explained where Liverpool are with their offer for Lallana - perhaps they want to resolve that before any "sensational" double swoop.}

No need to be sarcastic with me ed. They're simply quotations from the net x

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not sarcasm, it is the truth.}

You are pure ...............

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are a complete embarrassment.}

BR's summer signings have been nothing short of horrendous. I don't think we will be getting any of these 3. We've bid for Lallana but I'm not sure he will come to us. We should've gone for Lovren instead of Sakho last summer. As for T. Hazard, 'NO CHANCE'.

Hi guys 1st time poster but big fan of the site keep up the gr8 work. Just a quick question on the Thorgon Hazard rumours was readin sumwhere that we r in talks with Chelsea over the player and he could b available 4 a fee of around £6 million, surely there can't b any truth in this as I've heard he is a better player than his brother Eden (who says himself Thorgon is better) or does the player feel he won't b givin the chance 2 make a break through at Chelsea in the near future? Any info on this will b gr8ly appreciated. Cheers guys 👍

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not in talks with Chelsea about buying Thorgan Hazard.}

Is it not Everton enquiring about a loan? I could be mistaken though.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Everton are one of a number of clubs who have enquired after taking him on loan.}

Eds

Any truth in the Emre Can rumours from Leverkusen? He looks a decent unit and simular to Parejo?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - A move to Liverpool for Emre Can seems very unlikely given he only joined Lerkusen last summer on a four year deal that has a break point after two years when Bayern Munich can buy him back. An approach from Roma was rebuffed for this reason.}

Hey ed,
But is there a possibility that Munich won't stand in the way now due to the signing of rode and the emergence of youth players in his position?
Plus roma asked in Jan which is always a tough market due to teams still being in Europe etc

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I guess they could, but I am not sure why they would do that. And Liverpool has been trying to get a deal for Lallana.}

17 May 2014 03:00:18
Rumours resurfacing about Shaqiri, is he a target for us or anyone else for that matter. I remember Guardiola said something along the lines of Shaqiri being his most important impact player.

Believable16 Unbelievable5

I would take him for the right price.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 May 2014 10:44:36
According to Ed02, we are interested. But we will find out soon enough hopefully.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Shaqiri is one of the players Bayern are looking to sell and they are seriously pissed with him right now. Sevilla and Fiorentina have a declared interest with Liverpool, Napoli and Juventus having made tentative enquiries. Bayern are taking an interest in Pogba and are looking to include Shaqiri in a deal - but Shaqiri apparently does not want to go there and Pogba is settled, at least for a week or two.}

17 May 2014 11:41:13
Why are they pissed off with him Ed02?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Because he repeatedly talks to the press.}

Cheers for reply, I for one hope we are interested and can get a deal done, I'd say he's the best player we have been linked with so far.

17 May 2014 00:20:37
Hi ed's is lovren a realistic target? And will southampton be willing to part with him and lallana, especially with luke shaw heading up the m6 aswell? Nice1

Believable3 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - no, and not without someone breaking the bank to pay for them both.}

We could have signed Lovren last summer for £7 million.

Hi Eds, Is there anything on Arda Turan? Heard rumours obout him awhike back is there still interest or was it just rumours? Thanks

Believable2 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - just rumours as things stand.}

16 May 2014 22:38:09
Dear ed(s), do you know of any interest in Ricardo Rodriguez of Wolfsburg? He's had an amazing season and really has the potential to become world class, with stats any winger would be happy withfrom left back. I'm surprised that no big club has been linked with him.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - half the world has been linked with him, Real Madrid, Bayern (but they are always linked with any player who has a good season in Germany), Man Utd had him watched this season. No idea how strong the interest is from those clubs though.}

How are his stats for a defender?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - no idea, I try and avoid stats as they are meaningless.}
