There has been a lot of recent talk of interest in dani parejo, a player who I do like, who has good technique and is tactically very sound. Despite this, I have to say talk of a bid of around £20m possibly even £25M I find to be expensive considering the alternative replacements we have available.

I was just wondering if you know of anything new in regards to interest in Ivan Rakitic? I truly believe he is the player we need, having watched him this season and being unbelievably impressed with his talent in his all around play on many occasions I think he is the perfect foil for Steven Gerrard in the dynamic central midfield role, similar to that of Henderson.

Afternoon all, Ed I'm in crete on holiday at the moment and haven't seen a newspaper or had any internet access all week so while I'm in a bar that has wifi can I trouble you with a simple question (as I won't have signal long enough to trawl through the posts)

It is interest now, he hasn't signed yet. Atleast wait till the lad joins, that is if he ever joins.

Who's trashing? Are we not allowed to question certain decisions? I'll support the player if he joins, of course. But surely you can't argue against that the fact we should be targeting a LB of better quality than Bertrand?

Someone's woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Not agreeing with a decision or two doesn't mean us as 'supporters' aren't appreciative of what everyone at the club has done and achieved this season so take it down a tone. Go through the "Other" page following any game that Liverpool fail to win. Nobody is "painting" everyone with the same brush (whatever the hell that means). Clearly a lot of concerns are being expressed about the players the club are showing an interest in - so go after Brendan Rodgers, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter. Let them know how poor they are at their jobs - perhaps some sort of hate forum could be worked up on Facebook? How about daubing messages on the walls of Anfield - that worked last time the fans wanted a manager out.}

Sometimes it's not trashing ed it's called an opinion mate. Also so what if the fans have high standards and I don't appreciate being called an person.

We should support any prospective signing, all the players have been saying how much Rodgers has improved them in technique and more importantly tactically. We are not going to compete with the financial packages that the wealthier clubs can afford. The best course for us is to improve players with potential or promote from within. We need to flesh out the squad with European football on the horizon, Bertrand could be another player who can grow, as part of our team, and BR's management. He is also affordable and has a point to prove.

After Lucas and Henderson have shown us how they have improved, we should give players time to settle in the team and support them.

Totally agree with Ed02. The fact is, any player we sign, hasn't played in our exact system yet, so everyone is basing their opinion on how well they played in their clubs system.

Look at Torres for example, he was excellent in our system and dribble in Chelsea's(although he was and still is very broken too).
Schevchenko is another great example, won european player of the year, then was written off at Chelsea the following season.
Charlie Adam was decent at Blackpool, but then wasn't that decent at Liverpool, Downing too.

There are very few players in the world who you can just throw into any old system and perform to a high standard.

Ryan Bertrand might be very good at Liverpool. I didn't want Sturridge because I didn't think he was that good at Chelsea, but now look at him.

Rodgers and co know they are doing, it's their "job".

Eds, heard from a 50/50 source that Liverpool and Arsenal (and perhaps Manchester United) are preparing for battle to sign Pedro (Barcelona) for around £20m. Any truth? Thanks in advance

{Ed002's Note - Pedro will wait to see what the Barcelona coach has planned for him and may well need to request a transfer if he wants to leave. Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are known to have enquired with his agent in recent months. PSG has spoken with Barcelona about the player last summer and in January and were told they did not wish to sell him.}

It will be interesting to see what happens here as Pedro is a very good player who could walk straight into our team and improve it. Barcelona have several players who are available Victor Valdes, Dani Alves, Carles Puyol, Javier Mascherano, Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas, Jonathon Dos Santos, Xavi, Christian Tello, Alexis Sanchez, Isaac Cuenca, Bojan Krkic & Keirrison.

{Ed002's Note - At the moment they are waiting for a new coach to be named (Luis Enrique). They are also aware that January 2016 may well be the next chance they have to buy players so they need to balance those coming through the B system and think about who they can let go and who they can bring in. I would think that Mascherano, Puyol, Sanchez, Valdes, Alex Song and Afellay will move on regardless. The likes of Pedro, Tello, Fabregas and the others you mention will be awaiting the new coach.}

Hi guys 1st time poster but big fan of the site keep up the gr8 work. Just a quick question on the Thorgon Hazard rumours was readin sumwhere that we r in talks with Chelsea over the player and he could b available 4 a fee of around £6 million, surely there can't b any truth in this as I've heard he is a better player than his brother Eden (who says himself Thorgon is better) or does the player feel he won't b givin the chance 2 make a break through at Chelsea in the near future? Any info on this will b gr8ly appreciated. Cheers guys 👍

Rumours resurfacing about Shaqiri, is he a target for us or anyone else for that matter. I remember Guardiola said something along the lines of Shaqiri being his most important impact player.

I would take him for the right price.

According to Ed02, we are interested. But we will find out soon enough hopefully.

{Ed002's Note - Shaqiri is one of the players Bayern are looking to sell and they are seriously pissed with him right now. Sevilla and Fiorentina have a declared interest with Liverpool, Napoli and Juventus having made tentative enquiries. Bayern are taking an interest in Pogba and are looking to include Shaqiri in a deal - but Shaqiri apparently does not want to go there and Pogba is settled, at least for a week or two.}
