What ever happened with Chirivella? I thought he was sold to Rosenborg, but he's in the U23s match today.

{Ed002's Note - He opted not to make the move, but a transfer to Celtic in Scotland beckons.}

Would it be permanent or a loan, any info on that Eds? Big ups to the kid for what ever reason he decided against the move a lot of players would have. Pedro ain't a kid no more so hope this turns out well for him like Hendo and the Fulham show and he doesn't end up like Borini with his Sunderland episode. Kinda got me thinking how these kids get taken to foreign land ( in the sense that new life changing decisions will be taken) only find broken promises and lack of proper plan in place for the . I get that money and agents significant role but we talking human lives. We idolize them and to certain envy them but when you look at people like Gary Speed you realize that these kids have every day emotions, challenges and tribulations.

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure it would be permanent as he has no future at Liverpool. As for your more general comment, you are right that it should be more of a concern than it is. Some countries, like Brazil, have restriced moves abroad until the player is 18. Others allow younger players to move if their families move and have jobs not provided by the clubs. Most require education needs to be met in line with national standards - which is what happens in England regardless of language barriers etc.. But there are much more stringent rules coming. Manchester City got away wilth an issue last year by the skin of their teeth when an Italian passport of convience came to their rescue (as the rules discuss such passports but only in terms of adults). Interestingly Pipco is going down that road right now. But as you say, and certainly when moving to a country with an entirely different culture, language, food etc.. And clubs need to recognise when they send players abroad they need to keep a close eye on them to make sure they don't end up spending too much time alone playing electronic games. For instance there was a problem with a couple of players on loan in the Netherlands (where they were simply sat around in apartments for hours on end) and that resulted in the club concerned having them get involved with spending some time with the local community (schools and charities) and putting someone out there for a couple of months to steady everything, and get them playing golf etc.. A very good point, thanks.}

Thanks on the detailed response Eds, Iam glad teams seem to have recordnised the issue and importantly actively working to words some sort of improvement. Some times Iam just left star struck from reading your response . Legendary stuff. Keep well.

Klavan is apparently heading to Italy today after Liverpool agreed a £2 million deal with Cagliari.

Good luck to him, I like Ragnar.

It would seem that Klopp is putting more faith in Joe as a CB this season, which is good news.

Matip is back in training too.

If true then good luck to him, I always felt he gave his all and was one of our more dependable CBs in a shaky defence before we brought in VVD.

Would you think it is because of Gomez or do you think might be Phillips coming through as well as Klavan was down the pecking order any way?

I reckon it'll be a case of "£2m in the pocket is better than £1-2m spent on wages for someone who might play 5 games this season". Business decision, and a good one, although I do like Klavan, never let us down.

It seems we'll see Nat Phillip's a lot more this season, if Klavan leaves. Mario is now injury prone; Gomez has a history too. Lovren missed weeks at a time from time to time. Van Dijk has had a long lay off before.
I like Nat Phillips though. Seems very composed.

Hahaha Matip!

If it’s lovren and vvd first choice and Gomez and Matip second, we don’t need Klavan, so the money as saved wages is okay. Always got Phillips and I reckon Fabinho or hendo could do a job there if desperate.

Didn't expect to see this happen to be honest. I thought Klopp really rated him.
Good luck to the lad.

Was he not a short term solution from the get go, think he does deserve to be allowed to move for regular football. Best of luck.

I liked Ragner. Would've much rather preferred for Matip to go, but with all those injuries no one would be interested in buying him.

All the best to Klavan!

Reports that we will sign Rabiot on a pre-contract in January. I doubt that is the case but, it's a bit random so I'm wondering if we have any interest in him.

How many central midfielders are we supposed to stockpile?
We have already have 6 senior ones and a couple of prospects looking for game time. Rabiot makes no sense at all.

Well we were looking at Fekir all summer, if Keita is playing in the more advanced attacking role now then Rabiot makes sense as a central midfielder.

I am sure i have read in a few places that he is a Liverpool fan tho Bobbys_teeth so maybe we can get ahead of everyone because on that.

He's a good player, but I think he'll either end up at Barca, or Juve if he moves.

Chances are that he'll get a bumper new contract and more playing time at PSG, though.

I can't see him coming to LFC - we've got too many midfielders as it is. He does seem a little temperamental too, if the reports are to be believed.

You never have to many players if your buying good quality.

X quality player comes in, someone lesser moves on. That's how you build quality.

We sign de bryune tomorrow, then wijnaldum moves on. It's not nasty or disrespectful bu5 that's how it's done.

Why do yu all live in a world where we can't sell players or our players are irreplaceable.

We have a very very good team but more quality is always out there.

Agree3 Disagree1

17 Aug 2018 14:19:52
True, Kloppsboss, but you have to be able to actually move those players on.

Ultimately, there's no point in having so many players that they can't all be registered and you definitely don't want someone on 100k a week nowhere near the bench.

I suspect a couple will go before the end of August and possibly a couple in January. We're still pretty well stocked in pretty much every position, though.

James milner gets better with age. In 8 years he will be thought about as one of the worlds best.
