Hi eds fellow lfc fans just thinking we had interest in botia at 1 point is there still interest or have we moved on to different cb options thanks guys keep up the quality work. DB {Ed002's Note - I know of nothing confirmed in terms of Botia and Liverpool.}

Believable1 Unbelievable16

Botia is really pants. He could not even get into the Sevilla team in front of a left back playing centre half (Fernando Navarro).

Would stay away.

hey eds I tried the search function but the only post I found was from a person asking about 500 players at once. with soldado coming out and saying he would like to play in the premier league next season do you believe Liverpool will continue there previous interest and maybe put a bid in? do you see him moving to england at all? and if so do you see other teams ahead of us getting him such as spurs/chelsea? cheers eds and thanks for all the hard work great site I check it daily. CRAIG {Ed002's Note - Liverpool did previously show some interest in Soldado as did Napoli, Milan and PSG. However, Valencia wanted him to stay and he signed a new deal in last summer. Spurs are interested now but I suspect he will stay another season in Spain unless an attractive offer is made to the club and player. It would be seemingly a change of direction for Liverpool to make a move for him now.}

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Thank you for the answer eds much appreciated i'm sure whoever we get in will do a great job and we can push for top 4 next season I just hope people don't do what they normally do and abuse players after 1 or 2 bad games players need time to learn and embed themselves into tactics an squads I just don't like how fickle not all but some fans can be I myself have been guilty off it once but I was right lol it was bruno cheyrou CRAIG

Evening Eds,

If JonJonJo leaves, where do you think he will go?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Stoke, Norwich and West Ham have also been considering JonJonJo.}

Believable19 Unbelievable6

He won't go back to westham because they sold him to charlton before we signed him

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is this JonJonJo? {Ed002's Note - He is a Liverpool midfield player - a follower of Aleister Crowley. He lives with his chum Pepe and his master #WonderDogSparky.}

Thanks Ed002 insightful as ever!

Hear Renia will move to Napoli for a fee of six mil euros. Far to low. Hope source is wrong but if right we've been had again in the market.

Believable10 Unbelievable94

Really don't see that one happening and especially for bloody 6M euros Reina should command a fee of £10M at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

And! and. both Skrtel & Agger are also going to Napoli for a combined 13m euros

smh. These journos in Italy are off their meds, BIG TIME!

Agree0 Disagree0

How old is Pepe. 31?so we, re signing a young talented keeper for probably 8 million and selling one for 6 million. Good business for me. How many seasons does pepe have left. 3?He, ll go to barça anyway for about 8

Agree0 Disagree0

Pepe is 30 which is not old for a keeper he is currently worth around 10 million, MARK

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we've been had, I think you've been had if you believe he'll go for €6m.

And Pepe has closer to 10 years in him than 3 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Reina out for £10m, Mignolet in for £8m. Good deals and probably what both players are worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

"How many seasons does pepe have left. 3?". what a stupid statement to make.

Do supporters understand that goalkeepers can still be playing at the top of their game into their early 40's. the list is long I won't even bother saying it. and in very many cases they tend to peak in their 30's. I'll be sad to see Pepe go, I think he's a very good keeper and if he wasn't good why on earth would Barca want him? Because he IS good! Personally unless he's asked to leave and go to Barca I wouldn't sell Pepe at all.

Big John

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish - Napoli will not pay him £120k/week - which is the reason why LFC want to move Reina on - same goes for Johnson and Skrtel

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Big John and I hope we do keep him. If Barca don't come in for him then surely the signing of a good AM and a good CB should keep Reina happy for another year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Off to Barcelona

In an interview in France, Andre Ayew from Olympique Marseille was asked about his future. He said that the EPL is the most watched football league in his home country of Ghana and that he wants to play there one day. And when asked about Liverpool, he replied: "Liverpool? I watch them since I am a kid". I don't know if we are interested in him but he's 23 and wants a move. I don't know him at all so I don't know if he would be a good signing. Your thoughts anyone? {Ed002's Note - There is a very good chance Andre Ayew will leave Marseille in the summer and the club accept this. Inter Milan, Arsenal and Dynamo Kyiv have already declared an interest in the player. Marseille has already lined up his replacement.}

Believable20 Unbelievable3

The guy is a beast. We should get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed's am I correct in saying he has a 18m buyout clause? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he really that good? As far as I know he didn't score that many goals but I do not know much about him. In your opinion Eds, is he of a class that would benefit LFC?

gareth

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember us linked with Payet in the Commoli days, but is there any interest in him now?

Agree0 Disagree0

What about his younger brother jordan?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed - you say Marseille has already lined up his replacement - is that diego capel of Sporting Lisbon? read that L'OM had bid £3.5m for him.

LFC_Mike_YNWA {Ed002's Note - It is rather more complicated as Franck Tabanou of Toulouse was to make the move then Toulouse offered him to Lyon and the bid was made for Capel (it was rejected by the way). Now Toulouse are denying interest from Lyon and offering the player to Lyon to try and get the move to Marseille back on. I gave you the abridged version as I doubted anyone would be interested in the whole story.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers for the detail!

He is awesome and he is an LFC fan since being a kid. Buy him asap and you will have the new Robbie Fowler.

Hi eds, great site!

1: If suarez goes will we buy direct replacement for him, or are his replacements possibly aspas and alberto?

2: You know anything about downings situation? Can`t see him in next season`s squad.

3: Do we have interest in atsu or tello or are other clubs possibly buyin them?

Hope you answer {Ed002's Note - (1) Aspas, Alberto and HM being added would likely suffice. (2) I know nothing of any situation right now. (3) I am not aware of an offer for Atsu from Liverpool at this time. Everton, Spurs and Toulouse have enquired as to his availability and Porto want a new deal. Whilst there remains speculation that Dortmund, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool could be interested it is hard to see Barcelona simply selling Tello on with the others leaving - although Schalke have made a direct approach to Barcelona to see what options may exist and they are particularly interested in a loan. If the situation is such that Barcelona decide to make an approach for Suarez, it is possible that Tello might be part of the negotiations, but right now they have told Suarez's representatives that they have no interest in the player.}

Believable3 Unbelievable11

I reckon we will buy an attacking player if/when Suarez leaves but he will most likely be a right forward/winger rather than a striker as
1. Alberto will most likely be back-up to coutinho at LW.
2. Aspas will either play ST or RW replacing Downing (or atleast I hope so) and
3. Mkhi will play CAM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed if we enquired about Benteke with the intention of him being a suarez replacement. surely we would try to sign Benteke or someone similar to replace Suarez? Cheers {Ed002's Note - It is hard to see more forward and attacking midfield players being added than Aspas, Alberto and Mkhitaryan.}

Agree0 Disagree0

On this occasion I disagree with you Ed2. I think another forward player will be signed after Suarez leaves.
HOWEVER, as I have said before I don't think Liverpool will be signing a 'replacement' as such for Suarez but instead strengthen up top with a few players including but not limited to Aspas, Alberto, Mkhitaryan.
Just my thoughts but I suppose we just have to wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ed002 is right. Aspas, Alberto and Mkhitaryan seem to be all of this windows attacking additions. LFC could be moving to get the forwards it wants before/in case Suarez goes so as to avoid inflated prices. (or at least I like to think so. )

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with puzzled, they are saying Alberto, mikh and Aspas are being added regardless of Suarez leaving. I think they will sign one more striker. The £50m won't just be spent on defenders will it?! Plus you got the sale of Carroll and probably a couple others.

Agree0 Disagree0

You probably won't print this as it goes against the grain of what you think will happen with the outcome and future of Suarez, but I can 100% assure you that you are totally wrong in stating that Barcelona have shown any interest in Suarez. lol. funny! {Ed002's Note - I did not say that Barcelona have shown any interest in Suarez. You can look elsewhere and I have explained that when approached by Suarez's representatives they made it clear they were no interested at this time. Idiot.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem here is that Suarez cannot be replaced. Perhaps my knowledge of European players is limited but a player of Suarez ability is a very limited commodity and I just can't see us attracting proven players.

where's marqinhos going ed? {Ed002's Note - Roma's Marquinhos has attracted the attention of PSG, Barcelona, Benfica, Dortmund, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. There have been a number of rejected offers including one of €30M.}

Believable6 Unbelievable4

30 mil for a young centre back? He must be a special talent

Why is Mykhitaryan's price tag so high if other teams aren't showing interest?

Why aren't other teams showing interest? price tag or ability or both? {Ed002's Note - There is interest from Italy but the clubs are unwilling to pay the asking price. This has been explained on numerous occasions.}

Believable16 Unbelievable1

Only English teams can afford the expensive players!

Agree0 Disagree0

And eds what would happen if they were willing to pay the asking price? {Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what sort of response you expect to the question. The player is available, there is an asking price, he has his ideal places he would like to play, Liverpool are interested, he has been offered around - it is the transfer process. Sooner or later a club will agree a fee with Shakhtar and a deal with the player and that will likely see the transfer go through.}

Agree0 Disagree0

My worry Is whether he a good enough player for us eds? Money isn't somethng BR's can control and TBF to kenny he couldn't control what the club payed for the players during his time but transfers seem to always be judged on the price tag of a player.
I want to know whether this players BR's choice or the clubs and if it is BR would he be telling them to get him at any price?

Daniellambretta {Ed002's Note - There is no question about his abilities as a player - but I see the asking price as high.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think it is a little over what it should be but I do think he is world class and would be perfect for LFC. I do not know much about him as a personality off the field but on it I really see him being a great signing

Yes he is expensive but if we do get him and he proves me and many others right he could be worth more in 2-3 years time

Gareth

Agree0 Disagree0

We are talking about a player who literally scores more goals than your average striker as well as registering assists which rank amongst the top 5 in that league. And all this while he is a Midfielder?. I'd say that is outrageous, now the Ukrainian League and EPL are different matters but IMO if a player can prove his worth in that league he is ready for the step up!.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 million for a player who scored 30+ goals and played well in europe I don't know what the problem is get it done LFC

Hi Eds, i've been really impressed with the spaniard Alvaro Morata in the U21 championships, do you think there is a possibility we could go for him if Suarez goes as one of a couple of replacements? {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely - Liverpool has set out what they are looking to do with forwards by looking to add Aspas and Alberto and an attacking midfield player in Mkhitaryan.}

Believable15 Unbelievable4

He should go to atletico they've been tracking him for a year

Agree0 Disagree0

Why dp people keep saying we need 2 replacements for Suarez. We can only play 11 men no matter how many we have so best if we can keep the best. Namely Suarez

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he learns to stay on his feet.

tv lfc transfer page say that we are favourites too sign villas young striker beneteke, is this true or wide of the mark ED think with a very young squad with talented players and some with loads of experience we should do well next season YNWA {Ed002's Note - An enquiry was made as previously explained - for now a move to Liverpool looks unlikely.}

Believable2 Unbelievable11

At the begining of the season Benteke was quoted as saying he see's Villa as a stepping stone in his career on his way to playing for Real madrid or Barcelona.
Sound familiar?

Would much prefer mkhitaryan, way more exciting player

Hi ed's, I saw you mention an enquiry for Pezzella, have we enquirer to make him and his club aware of our interest or are we considering him as an alternative to other targets, thanks in advance. {Ed002's Note - An enquiry was made on behalf of Liverpool regarding German Pezzella of River Plate. He was someone looked at last summer before Rodgers arrived And there is nothing I can add to that right now although there have been talks between his club and Roma regarding a part-ownership deal.}

Hey Eds, could the fact Mkhitaryan hired Mino Raiola as his new agent help Liverpool? I know he has worked on some deals in the past. Also, is it true Mkhitaryan is only earning about £10,000 a week at Shakhtar? Seems quite a low amount.

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Hiring MR was seen as a way to get a move to a much "bigger" club who will pay a lot more. The downside is that the buying club will be picking up the tab for MR's efforts.}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Hes on 20k a week at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

20 k a week if Liverpool had any sense they would put him on a contract similar to Sturridge and have it very incentive based contract.

I wouldn't mind 10k a week

Hi Eds, what's the Papadopulous situation, used the search function but can't find anything from recently {Ed002's Note - Manchester City and Chelsea have already been in talks over the player. Other clubs are interested, including Liverpool who have enquired after his availability but have yet to submit an offer. Dortmund and Chelsea were surprised how high the asking price was - which given his injury problems makes them nervous. Chelsea are now looking elsewhere and Dortmund signed Sokratis from Werder Bremen. My understanding is that Liverpool are now also of the opinion that the valuation is way high but they would like to do a deal at a price that suits - we can really only wait.}

Believable21 Unbelievable4

As with Mkhitaryan, the price is too much and so both clubs will wait it out until late August - unless the players submit transfer requests to speed things up.

Liverpool will wait as long as it takes to get the price down. The clubs who own the players will wait as long as it takes to see if other interested parties will cough up the cash.

It's one thing to say that 'we want to do our business early' and other to blow £millions on the convenience of it.

There are 10 weeks to get these players in. It's going to be a painful wait, and I include Suarez in this equation because he's banned so what motivation is there for the buying club to pay his wages earlier than August 31st?
