Liverpool have went for young Irish forward Tomas McCann from Donegal Celtic from the Irish priemer League and the transfer has been secured for around £30k. it has came from a source close to the player, has been agreed to be loaned to Tranmere Rovers for the rest of the season to gain experience in English football.

And the scene is set for the Uruguay international to arrive as Ryan Babel heads out of Merseyside with clubs in England and Germany pursuing him.
Suarez shares the same agent as Fernando Torres and has asked him to find out if clubs are interested in signing him this month.
Liverpool and Tottenham lead the chase, but the Spanish-speaking connection at Anfield could prove a critical attraction.

Liverpool have made a formal approach to Ajax for Luis Suarez.
KOPTALK sources are reporting that both clubs have opened talks as the Reds hope to negotiate a deal for the 23-year-old striker this month.
Liverpool have been linked with Suarez in recent weeks but most of the chatter has until now been paper talk. However, it would now appear that Liverpool officials have made a firm offer following John Henry's visit to Merseyside this weekend.
Meanwhile, former Reds defender Stephen Warnock has agreed personal terms with the Reds ahead of a proposed loan move until the end of the season.
But Liverpool could be about to miss out on a proposed move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as Arsenal remain favourites to land him. Liverpool officials were "hopeful" that a deal to bring in the youngster could be concluded last week but Arsenal then launched their offensive.
Mark Van Bommel (33) has also been linked with the Reds.

Everyone saying we have got Suarez - is there any source to back this up. Just people seem to be sure we have agreed a deal? Would love it too be true. Think him and Torres would be a great pairing up front. Would also like to see a couple of wingers brought in. Dont believe Kuyt is good enough at all for the wing, squad player at best.

Ryan Babel could be on his way out of the club this week, clubs in Germany are very interested - Hoffenheim are said to be ready to offer £8m, and Wolfsburg, Schalke and Hamburg are all ready to make bids also. Ajax want him to be involved in any deal to sign Luis Suarez.

I was speaking to a friend at the pub today when watching the match and we were talking about strikers he said that Suarez was at Anfield and also he shares the same agent/ rep as Torres who is going to try and sway his arrival (I find that hard to understand when Torres hasn't been fully comitted as of late)

On the game today I thought the lads showed character to get back in, recently we wouldn't have been able to get anything from the game! First time I get the chance to post some info. Suarez apparently fee agreed apprix €14m and babel (seems good deal for both parties) Charlie Adam is a definate option and likely. I've also been told that Honda was looking positive a few weeks back but it seems to have gone quiet. Could be the tournament but I wouldn't thought his agent would resolve. Marveux likely to be bosman. My source is a close friend who works for a sports management and marketing co. New source so fingers crossed what you think ed? Also macca would like ur feedback y seem itk.

I am very sure Juventus will be trying to convince Liverpool it is better to just get the money now, but I don't have any info on it, it is just that it is standard practice. That is why one of the law changes involved in the financial fair play package is to put a stop to the payments over a number of years
Im okay with that, just when searching round the "official" press releases from clubs is somewhat "different" than what we see in the general daily papers as "official sources".

I know we have signed promising youngsters and stevie warnock on loan so far! the latter showing that since mon left villa at least gerrard h is willing to do business with us, and although ashley young has been a bit mouthy in the past, but the lad is real talented, could this be the best time to try for him, as he may not be in g houlliers plans?

I don't have any sources but I scour the web a lot looking for info on LFC. It would appear to me that there are 4 more likely transfers that may happen in January.
1. Warnock - Has been told he is not needed at Villa and a vast improvement on Konchesky.
2. Downing - Cheaper alternative to Young on the wing.
3. Suarez - Ajax seem open to offers now and rumour has it he asked his agent to find out if Liverpool are interested (he shares the same agent as Torres).
4. Adam - Has earned a chance at a bigger club than Blackpool and Kenny has already proved with Spearing and Shelvey that he is not scared to play youngsters.
For me the first three would definitely add something to our play but I'm not sure what improvement Adam would bring.

For my statement before about Negredo already being a liverpool player! I pointed out that it is not a source to be trusted(wikipedia), and also i did not edit it myself as I have no interest in bulls* tting people, I just wrote up what i saw and it has also been corrected now!

I don't know too much about the player except that he has repeatedly given interviews to the press about one day joining Barcelona. Also, there is an ownership issue that would need to be resolved before he could play in England. Italy or Spain seem likely destinations in the summer - perhaps even before.

He formed a formidable partnership at last summer's World Cup with Diego Forlan that took Uruguay through to the semi-finals.
The striker is at Ajax's winter training camp in Turkey. He has had a meeting with coach Frank de Boer and they accept the moment has arrived for the South American to move on if the Amsterdam club get an acceptable offer.
De Boer explained: "I've had a showdown with Luis.
"I wanted to know what his plans are and what the future will bring. Luis is training hard. He told me that if a big club comes in for him now he is ready to talk to them."
And De Boer admitted: "I've a back-up scenario ready."
Clearly, the critical issue will revolve around how much the Anfield owners make available to Dalglish, but Babel looks certain to leave for around £8m.
Fulham and West Ham from the Premier League have declared their interest.
But sources in Germany believe the Holland star is set to move to the Bundesliga and accept a £65,000 a-week deal with Hoffenheim, who are owned by software millionaire Dietmar Hopp.

Ajax striker Luis Suarez claims he is ready for a big move as speculation mounts surrounding his future.
The prolific Uruguay international is regarded as one of the hottest properties in Europe with Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United reportedly interested.
Ajax have so far resisted the urge to sell the star, who could cost over £20million, but Suarez now claims he is ready to leave and places honours ahead of wages.
"If I move I want to join a real football club where they play good, attacking football, " Suarez is quoted as saying in The Sunday Mirror.
"I will decline any offer from clubs like Shakhtar Donetsk or [Zenit] Saint Petersburg where they offer you sacks full of money.
"I've an obsession to win trophies. I am a South American with the mentality to win."
Ajax coach Frank de Boer has held talks with the 23-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 13 league starts this season, and the Dutchman is preparing for his exit.
"I've had a showdown with Luis, " said the former Barcelona player, who was appointed as Martin Jol's successor at the beginning of the month.
"I wanted to know what his plans are and what the future will bring. Luis is training hard. He told me that if a big club comes in for him now he is ready to talk to them."
And De Boer admitted: "I've a back-up scenario ready."

Elia is not coming to Liverpool. He clearly states in post match interview after the Schalke - Hamburg game, he is interested in UCL and would entertain interests from Man Utd, Arsenal or even Tottenham. The rest of the teams are all media hype and he is happy at Hamburg. A double Ajax-based swoop now for the Reds, with the Telegraph claiming interest from Liverpool on both Urby Emanuelson and Luis Suarez, with a €31 million bid for the pair in the offing. However, the reported €8 million bid for the left-sided Dutchman Emanuelson would seem unlikely given, as mentioned previously, he is six months away from being a free agent.
The same newspaper also links several other players as having been mentioned in conversation between manager Dalglish, Football Strategy director Damien Comolli and owners John W. Henry and Tom Werner. I can't personally see how we won't have another striker by the end of January. Real have opened talks to bring Ruud back so I don't reckon theyll get Adebayor. Negredo keeps getting left out and Suarez shares the same agent ad Torres and can't see him going anywhere else as spurs say they would rather spend 20mil on Carroll than 17 on Suarez.
As for Kenny being at the DW I reckon it could quite easily not be to watch N'Zogbia (bad attitude and would do nothing to lift the mentality of the team) but rather to watch Brede Hangeland. We need a new CB as Skrtl, Agger and the Greek are all good enough when Carra is telling them what to do but when Carra isn't there they don't have a clue as they ain't got half a brain cell between them so we need a shouter and a thinker in our defence. What dya reckon Ed ? {ed's note - it is always possible, but I have already outlined the possibilities I have been told.}

Long time no post but wanted to ask. If you noticed Torres has started growing his hair again??
I remember everyone laughed n thought I was mad wen I posted it in summer but call it coincidence he and lfc have been poor ever since he lost his locks. .
I told u guys thr el nińo is extremely suspicious and only changes hair when there's a significant change in his career.
Well- the hair is coming back, he's committed himself to his contract an I hear kenny will finally grant his wish of a quality strike partner in the small mould he craves.
Allegedly it's our only big signing of jan and it's someone in la liga.
