Apparently Malcom has an agreement to let him leave in the summer was wondering or maybe hoping we had an interest? Think more likely arsenal or Tottenham.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Bordeaux's Malcom is a Mane/Salah type player so it does not make sense to me unless one of them leaves - but Liverpool were watching him last season before buying Salah. As for now, I would forget him moving to Liverpool.}

16 Feb 2018 12:06:21
I thought he played "in the middle"?

Agree21 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He is a right winger who can play on the left wing or as a forward - but he is naturally a right winger.}

16 Feb 2018 12:40:18
I don't think you got what Willo did there Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - Ok.}

Maybe we could move salah up top?

We seemed to be after griezzman, so certainly another attacking left footed option

Or even mane back to the right and a left footed player actually on the left, again we were also after lemar.

This move could make sense.

Putmanebackontheright - let's just leave them how they are, why change? they're all scoring for fun, it needs to keep that way. To me, we don't need any reinforcements up top, its a GK, a RB and a CM what's needed in that order, we don't need players to cover the likes of Salah, Mane or Firmino not when we have the youngsters ready to come through as well. There's plenty more important positions what are in need first, unless we can get Pulisic of course then it's a different matter but that won't happen.

I think we need better backup for the front 3. Current backups include Ings, solanke, the ox, woodburn and maybe lallana. This wouldn’t be good enough if we suffer a few injuries. Firmino is the critical part for me and gels us together. I’d take a young striker and winger in the summer, and obviously a gk.

Agree4 Disagree8

{Ed002's Note - These players don't get many games right now - why would players join not to play? Promises have been made to Solanke - others won't arrive without some sort of commitment.}

16 Feb 2018 17:27:50
Why do supporters continue to clamor on about needing a new center forward? You could count on one hand the number of strikers who could come in and improve our front three. This is not Real Madrid or PSG, where a collection of talented individuals are preferred. LFC relies on a team culture, and it would be mad to disrupt the chemistry that our front three has. Right now, it truly feels like poetry in motion. I suggest those who want a new striker actually watch our games and enjoy the spectacle, rather than worrying about what striker you want to see as a Red.

Putmane, you mean move Salah up the top to replace our No 9?

Really?

to play up top with Firmino Zeddicus, Klopp has played Salah up top with Firmino a lot this season.

Why do we need to tinker with the front three? To me, pursuing Lemar, Meyer or Isco makes the only sense because, despite "not needing" Coutinho, we have a severe lack of creativity in the midfield now. There's a serious need for a No.10 who can work the ball around, see openings and channels for our front three to run into. Our two most creative types, Firmino and Henderson, are in the front and in a holding role. You could argue that Lallana qualifies as a creative type, but I really wonder if he knows how to play that way anymore, given that he spends 100% effort on pressing and getting the ball back.

The Porto game should have amply made it clear. Our centrebacks were playing tiki-taka with each other for most of the game, until they saw an opening for one of the front three to run into. And with the pace all 3 have, if the ball and the runner got through then it ended up as a chance on goal. The midfield was being bypassed, when we had possession, most of the time. And became active only when we lost possession and we started to press or get the ball back. But what do we do for the next game when either Salah or Mane (or both) are shut down (and trust me, that can happen because professional football teams adapt and strategize to counter strengths)?

I think we could upgrade in a few positions in the summer (keeper, cm ) but the front 3 are nearly impossible to upgrade on . They have everything liverpool and klopp are about pace power aggression passion .
I think our back up options could be improved upon . But I’d love to see the likes of Woodburn Ojaria grujic solanke Trent get given opportunities to make the fans and the club think twice about buying players . I’m all for people making the step up .

I agree, people get too caught up with the term striker. Firmino has 12 so far 6 assists and salah 22 and 7 assists. mane has 6 with 5 assists, plus he had a bit of a dip in form. People moaning oh you need 20 a season. Salah has brushed past that, firmino could well end up close to 20.

We are better off with a dynamic front 3 who play the most amazing football. Not only that but the chemistry they have is great, supporting each other. You wouldn't get a bet player in Salah and Firmino positions and Mane looks back to his best. Why on earth would you want to disrupt those 3.

Would hate to bring in a player who thinks they are the dogs boll*cks and has to be centre of attention, disrupts the team as a whole.

Spurs without Kane would be far worse off. Son has had a good season but Kane is their main goal scorer. Look at UTD, Lukaku hasn't shown up this season really, they have scraped some 1-0s like they usually do.

Even if one of our front 3 is injured/ off pace, the other 2 hopefully will provide something, that's the advantage about spacing the goals.

Phil is still up there with 7 goals 6 assists, I don't think we have to bring in a goal scoring MF with out current 3, but it just shows that goals can be well balanced around the team, it's better if a team can achieve this with multiple threats than just one main man!

All I stated was that Macca who you all trust said we were after griezzman.

A striker.

Ed001 has confirmed we were after lemar but didn't think there was value there.

Malcolm is a left footed attacking player, like those two.

We don't want to over pay for lemar and griezzman probably rejected us, so maybe we were looking at Malcolm as an alternative.

How would we fit him in and why are we targeting a left footed attacked.

Maybe is it to move someone.

The only ones who could move our mane and salah.

What could happen,?

Salah up top, mane back to the right and the left footer on the left or have salah up top and Malcolm on the right?

Read what people say you idiots. Belittling someone to come across as better is pathetic.

As far as clamouring for another forward. Well on one hand you should never stand still if there is someone to improve your team, where ever that player might play.

You fit quality in your team and that's ed001s words.

You think is would be so bad to add another good player to that attacking front 3? Or maybe to have a good strong player so we can rotate, because your poetry in motion will come to abrupt end if we pick up any knocks.

Agree2 Disagree3

{Ed0333's Note - I only watch very little of French football and only really to watch Fekir consequently my knowledge of Malcolm isn’t profound but he looks like he could easily fit into our team. And I agree if one of Salah or Mane got injured we’d be snookered. But why would Malcolm come to Liverpool to sit on the bench when he would play every week at Arsenal?

17 Feb 2018 11:08:58
Well depends on the player if he thinks he could be better then mane in the team and is willing to fight

Look at city's squad sane David Silva and Jesus were all missing and you would bearly notice.

17 Feb 2018 11:17:40
This is not an upgrade. It’s adding value and quality. The front three wouldn’t last 60 games next season and out back up currently are AOC, Solanke, Ings and Lallana are not even close to the quality of front three
Malcom is a very good player. But my choice would be Bailey. He will take us to the next level! But I agree we need another winger!

Agree5 Disagree0

18 Feb 2018 00:10:26
Bailey would be my choice too, think the lad is only 20 yrs old, I think next season we will stay longer in the two domestic cups, so even more games, we will need to rotate and give the squad players more game time .
up front, we will need to rest the three, so one more quality player is needed .

Ed333, I'd absolutely love Fekir at LFC!

For me he's better rounded and much stronger than Lemar. oh and cheaper as well. Lemar is way overpriced.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - Did you know that Fekir means impoverished in Arabic? That’s ironic because the next contract he signs will make him a squillionaire. I’d love him at Liverpool mate but I’m concerned hes Arsenal bound.

19 Feb 2018 10:50:46
I just don't understand how Fekir thinks going to Arsenal will give him guaranteed game time, beyond stupid, he will be behind Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Lacazette, he is a number 10 or a Firmino type striker. Would be an idiotic move for both sides.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - behind Mkhitarayan? Not a chance, he is twice the player the Armenian will ever be. He would walk into that side.}

19 Feb 2018 11:10:38
He is better than their whole front line ed, that's not the point i was trying to make, they just signed Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang as KEY players and renewed Ozil's contract at over 300 k a week and still have lacazette. There will be some very unhappy overpaid players at Arsenal next season then.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - you said he would be beyond stupid if he thinks he would get guaranteed game time, so whatever point you were trying to make was nonsense. He would walk into their team and it really does not matter who was signed previously, just ask Lacazette.}

19 Feb 2018 11:34:09
Nonsense is a bit rough. but it's your opinion not gospel or fact. In the french league Depay, Lacazette, Bernardo Silva, Bakayoko looked like absolute world beaters. we'll see. Lyon will also ask crazy money, not sure he would be cheaper than Lemar. Lacazette is the reason i have this opinion in the first place. He was Lyon's best player and their legend. So yeah, just look at him. :S.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - how is it a bit rough when you even disagreed with it in your previous reply?}

Hi Eds

As we know Pepa Reina will has contract expire in this summer.
Is there any chance to bring him back to Anfield?

And Is he interested return back to Anfield?

Thank you
