Hey Ed’s I’ve seen reports that we’re interested in snatching Martin Odegaard from under arsenals nose. I know we’ve been watching him for years I remember before he moved to real when he was 16/ 17 we were keen.
{Ed002's Note - There has certainly been interest in the past but I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool to Real Madrid.}

Our interest was in the lead up to him signing for Real Madrid wasn’t it? I believe a few had in ‘nailed on’ for us because he allegedly supported us as a boy.

Hope we either sign another attacker or no one. Like seeing the greek lad at left back filling in. Good to see some strength in depth. Fab henderson Millie Thiago ox Keita Curtis Jones Elliot we've got plenty of cms no need to buy anyone. Bobby mo mane and jota looks good can minamino fit in this season? I think it’s clear Origi isn’t going to play much. Maybe some more cover up top? But it’s not needed really. I think we’ve done great business again with konate looked decent in pre season from what I saw. Gomez VVD and matip back. I just wonder who can we sign that would improve the team. I can only think a striker to compete with Bobby. Otherwise I think the season will be interesting keep players fit and get that bit of luck. Definitely the most competitive season for years with Chelsea and united upping their game city not prioritising a striker is amusing but they’ll be there.

Personally, I think we need to sign someone like Saul or Bissouma. That would make sure we were solidly covered in the middle as Milner, Keita and Ox look a massive drop off in ability and quality from Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago.

If like Ed says we can’t afford Bissouma, and have to sell 3/ 4 players to fund a Brighton players transfer fee, I don’t think we should be buying anyone because something is very wrong.

VVVV, I think we all feel like that. I think Klopp thinks like that as well. It’s a race against time to sell Shaq, Phillips, Origi then we will have the funds.

Thankfully there’s loads of time left in the window, so anything can happen as you say Mark. But equally, I’d rather we kept the cheque book closed than sign the wrong player. Having Fabinho and Henderson fit gives us a strong foundation to build from.

I’m hoping for one of those nail biting, breathless last days before the window shuts with Babel copters and Dave the club taxi driver being sent on the way to John Lennon airport and Klopp’s missus ‘s hairdresser spotting Mbappe’s sister entering the local Tesco.
I have a sneaky gut feeling (with no evidence to support it) that we will make a couple of last minute signings. And let’s not forget that Andy Carroll has just been released by the Toon and Studge is a free agent too …….

Odegaard isn’t out sort of midfielder or wide forward. Klopp likes the inside forwards fast as food and the midfielders solid box2box workhorses. No place for a player like Odegaard no matter how good he may get in our current set up.
