Hope so. Quite excited about him joining. Think he's got a point to prove and will prove it.

That sounds a little cheap - did you miss an 'm'? Otherwise can I please have 2 Salah, please? Need a couple of people to work my garden :D.

Salah must be aggrieved now havin been "agreed" a dozen more times after being first "agreed and done and dusted" in May yet still actually havin no deal in place.

16 Jun 2017 07:08:19
Hope you're right Leech, but I'll wait till I actually see him in a red shirt, before I believe it sorry, as I am sure we'll screw it up. I can see it now.

Roma: Glad we finally agreed on a deal, pass me the paperwork and ill sign it off.
Liverpool negotiator passes paperwork. Roma director pen hovering.
Roma: Wait this isn't the deal we agreed upon.
Liverpool: No we felt this was a more suitable deal for both parties.
Roma: But our deal was 43 million euros. This is for 10 million euros, a 20 euro Amazon voucher, 10 mars bars and a packet of wotsits.

Me cynical never!

Agree23 Disagree2

16 Jun 2017 07:11:55
Why are people moaning over Liverpool trying to get the best deal? The same fans who then complain we pay too much.

Agree10 Disagree6

16 Jun 2017 07:22:24
The best deal would be getting the players in Klopp wants. Yes let's not get held to ransom but we are talking about a few million pounds. And that is after we seem to undervalue every player we bid for so no wonder there's a difference. I bet the owners never barter when it comes to setting ticket prices or sponsorship money.

Just bare in mind that its still June, no international signings can be completed prior to July.

Agreed at 33 million, agreed at 38 now at 43. Whens this going to stop.

Agree8 Disagree3

16 Jun 2017 09:07:55
He is not worth anywhere near to £30 mill let alone £40mill. Roma can ask whatever they wants. No club would even touch Salah for that money!

Agree1 Disagree17

16 Jun 2017 10:04:37
Transfer fees are meaningless.

No player is worth 10 times the lifetime salary of the brave firefighters who ran into the burning Grenfell tower to try and save lives.

Forget transfer fees.

16 Jun 2017 10:19:51
Yannick Bolasie was £29 million. Ill just leave that here.

Agree11 Disagree0

16 Jun 2017 10:22:12
Salah cost 15 mill I think, why should we pay 3 times that after 1 good season. our offer if the stories are correct seems more than fair 28 million. i do not see other clubs coming in and offering more. but the fact is they have set a price so we either try and meet somewhere in the middle or move on to other targets.

Agree1 Disagree11

16 Jun 2017 11:25:37
Thats a load of nonsence. Sure by your logic Mbappe cost Monaco nothing so why should people pay more than 5mil for him. You pay for how good a player is, their form, age and potential. Its not a car that was bought last year and they are looking to make an extortionate amount of money on it a year later. They want the value of tge player and if a 28 year old Brozovic is valued at 44 mil then a 24 year old Salah who had a far better season is definitely worth the amount been asked.

Agree7 Disagree0

16 Jun 2017 12:19:02
You pay the fee because lfc want him and Roma don't want too Dr. If you want a player that is key to another team you have to make a offer they can't refuse. If off aren't willing to pay it then we should move on.

You are so wrong my friend! I'll leave you with a few players and their prices, don't quote me on them though.
Stones 50m
Bolasie 30m
Mustafi 34m
Sterling 49m
The list can go on, 40m for a established player playing in a tough league with 25 goals 19 assists in 52 apps is a pretty good deal.

I'm not so sure. Pick ford is not proven and the lad they have just signed is playing in an average Dutch league. going to take a bit more than that to get them up there. will be nice to have them competing though. I think this year will be one of the toughest yet and possibly with another unexpected winner. us? Lol. On a serious note eds it is good to see. good luck!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - cheers diamond, with all the sky money floating about im sure other teams will be spending big as well, so getting your business done early is a massive plus for us but the prices being asked is a joke mate..

Ed025 you can be very hurtful, even Liverpool fans have feelings, sometimes :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - and im very sympathetic to your plight polecat even though you seem intent on shooting yourselves in the foot. liverpool will make a few top signings i believe and ourselves are far from finished mate...so its game on.. :)

Lukaku has bought you them Ed.

{Ed025's Note - very possibly davey and we will get a good return on him mate, but if we could keep rom he could propel us to dizzy heights next season but that does seem unlikely at this time..

Hi Ed's

I have just read that we have put an offer in of £25m for Zielinski, is this true?

Also, is there any further news on the exodus front as I am keen to find out about the Sakho status?

I heard of a rumour linking us to Porto's 22yr old LB in Rafa Soares. He hasn't even played a senior game for Porto only on loan to Rio Ave last season where he scored 3 goals and 7 assists. Is this some BS?

Ed1, is there any indication whether we're getting a ban yet? Everything seems to be on hold whilst we wait.

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to bother him with this. No ban will happen without an investigation, a charge and a hearing. Right now, the Premier League asked for Liverpool to provide further information and aside from an apology about initially lying to the FA again, is where we are. A ban will not come out of nowhere - that is not how the process works. Move on there is no charge at this time - but perhaps there will be - but there will not be any announcement of a ban.}

15 Jun 2017 07:55:55
Thank you for your reply Ed. So any delay over transfers is down to the club then.

It seems like the wind has been blown out of our sales somewhat.

Agree0 Disagree7

{Ed002's Note - You do appreciate that the transfer window is not open Nick?}

15 Jun 2017 08:05:59
Sorry, yes Ed I know but at one point two weeks ago it sounded like we were on the verge of signing vvd and Salah. Now it seems like nothing is happening.

But as you say, I should appreciate the fact that there is lots of summer left for transfers.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I understand that folk came out and said "done deal" and I stood back from commenting. There is little point in me explaining any more after everything that has been said. I am sure there will be many, many marquee signings conformed by the club before the transfer window opens.}

15 Jun 2017 08:15:00
Yes you're right. Sorry Ed, although I can assure you I'm not looking for any 'marquee' signings, just good players joining the club.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - I expect Liverpool to add a number of players to improve the squad this summer - but it doesn't need to be before the window has opened Nick.}

15 Jun 2017 08:22:08
Thanks for all your time and all your replies ed2. You're very good to us reds fans.

Agree5 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - If they are good questions Nick they are worth answering.}

15 Jun 2017 08:38:19
Hi ed02, sorry to bother you. How come clubs can confirm they've signed a player and share pictures of him signing his contract in their teams shirt before the window has opened? Lindelof and tolisso for example. Is this just a sort of pre contract agreement but the transfer will not go through until July? Sorry if it's been asked before.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of what has happened with Manchester United showing picture of Lindelof - but again, the international transfer window open July 1. Agreements can be reached but transferser not registered.}

15 Jun 2017 09:57:36
You can sign a player at any time, it is simply an agreement between clubs to end one contract and start another.
You can only register a player as your player from July 1st or January 1st.
What I suspect is happening is clubs are agreeing the terms of a transfer which will go through on July 1st, but the transferring club is happy for the player to ceremonially sign a contract in front of the media and wear a club shirt.

Agree6 Disagree0

15 Jun 2017 10:44:23
Oh and by the way,

Do you know if we are getting a ban or not? it's just no one has asked it the last 10 minutes and I think everyone might be getting worried something has changed in the last 10 minutes and we do not know about it.

Haha.

Good morning all, Eds just heard from a friend who I fully trust that naby Keita is still very much a top target and negotiations will start shortly as emre can is now expected to leave. Do any of the Eds know if there is any validity to this rumour?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - the first bit is correct but not sure on the second. Last I heard Can wanted to stay, but that was before the season ended, so a lot could have changed, I guess.}

15 Jun 2017 05:17:14
Thanks for the reply and info Ed, hope the latter isn't true but at the same time if emre can doesn't want to be at the club then I'd rather he went.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Jun 2017 05:56:14
I'm pretty sure Can would want to stay but probably also wants to be starting rather than backup which could be the only reason I see him considering a move

I hope he stays though as I think in time he'll be a monster in the deeper midfield role.

Agree7 Disagree0

15 Jun 2017 06:16:14
Keita will not be a replacement for Can. If Can goes, expect someone like Paredes or Carvalho to be targeted. Targets like Keita and Zielinski will add options to our midfield, not to replace someone.

Agree1 Disagree8

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot keep adding players without replacing players.}

15 Jun 2017 08:00:51
Agreed ed but to be fair Lucas and Stewart will be gone as well as a few youngsters.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - The youngsters don't count.}

15 Jun 2017 09:09:23
If Keita comes, we will have a surfeit of central midfielders.

The EPL is just a little too quick for Can. But he may do very well in Serie A. Good luck to him if he goes.

Agree5 Disagree9

15 Jun 2017 09:36:24
Do not agree that the EPL is to quick for Can. I think he could be a big player for LFC for a long time. He is one of the few players we have who can really handle the physical side of the game.

Agree15 Disagree2

15 Jun 2017 10:16:26
We better keep Can. He already more than holds his own and will only keep improving. If he were English he'd be the next big thing and rated at about 50 million. But yet he's German and therefore is probably more likely to keep a steady rate of improvement. Beast.

Agree18 Disagree2

15 Jun 2017 11:28:16
Can could be a really brilliant player for us. There are a few weaknesses to his game but all of which are teachable. He is built solid and can deal with the rough and tumble of the EPL.

Agree11 Disagree1

15 Jun 2017 12:37:20
Who cares how "big" he is? How big is Kante? He gets closed down easily, takes too long to release the ball, and doesn't have a lot of awareness of what is going on around him. He seems a nice lad. But we need better.

Agree5 Disagree14

15 Jun 2017 17:40:49
If all the additions are replacements then the depth of squad clearly does not improve. For me this is the thing missed in most of the conversations here and amongst our fans. I believe (and it is a personal view) that our best TEAM was as good as any of the top 6s best TEAMS, and better than most, but our SQUAD was/ is the worst of the top 6! So, Ed02 it may be true that financially that we can't keep adding without replacing but you can bet your bottom dollar that to compete for anything more than where we finished this year it is what we have to do. So if you are right then Houston we have a problem"

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - You are making stuff up. I didn't say anything of the sort about money. You don't seem to get that the size of the squad is limited. It is absolutely hopeless explaining things over and over.}

15 Jun 2017 17:53:03
Oh no I understand the squad number limitations possibly more than many but we named and played more young players that are not ready for the first team than any other top 6 team. Those guys don't need replacing. I was not making things up I was assuming, maybe incorrectly, but the case stands our depth need some to improve!

Agree2 Disagree2

15 Jun 2017 17:58:28
You reallly don't like anyone questioning your comments or judgements on these pages do you? It was not a criticism or a reason for argument it was just an opinion (which I referred to as my personal view) . I apologise if I assumed you meant it was financial and it wasn't but depth of squad is definitively an issue at Liverpool. Klopp got rid of a lot of deadwood last season, I assumed to therefore be able to add?!

Agree5 Disagree3

15 Jun 2017 19:14:52
Can has great hair, he should stay for that reason alone.

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jun 2017 19:25:50
To be fair strength in depth dusnt nessaserily mean the amount of players we have it's more what quality we have in the amount of players we have so if we can replace a player for a better option then replacements make all the sense in the world.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jun 2017 03:12:37
I rate can and don't wanna see him go. I think he has a great future, and he's pedigree speaks for itself, representing Germany at every level from U15's to full international.
