I got my positive result Christmas day and because I'm such a good father I passed it onto my children. Christmas really was a blast😭.

Ed002 with our HG issue at the minute it is 17 are the league planning on lowering that. I can see a few of are non HG players leaving in the summer Adrian looks like his all ready dropped down the pecking order Same as Origi and Gini looks half out the door. Come the summer Ed is there any HG players we are looking towards as every player we seem to be connected with seems non HG. Cheers Ed.

{Ed002's Note - The FA want to reduce the number of Non-HG players from 17 to 13 and, typically each year, the Premier League clubs reject this - but only ever by a majority vote and not unanimously. What I do expect to happen moving forward is (a) a continued push to lower the maximum number on non Home Grown players from 17 to 13, (b) an increase in the number of "Club Developed" (having been with the club for a year before turning 19) players which currently only impacts UEFA competition, and (eventually) (c) changing to matchday squad such that a minimum number of Home Grown players must start the game (say four), and a minimum number of Club Developed players (say four again) need to be in the match day squad. There are already rules surrounding this in other countries. The reason why Liverpool have not got a full strength squad in the Champions League is that they only have seven HG players and only two of those (Caoimhin Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold) are Club Developed.

Although Liverpool will look to changes going forward the likes of Ben White, Michael Olise and Ricky-Jade Jones are the only HG ones I can think of at present - and all have interest from other clubs as well.}

Liverpool will have a difficult time trying to move players on this summer I think a few players are coming to the end of there careers/ at an impasse a need playing time or just need to move on for the sake of there careers
Adrian - thanks for the super cup but is at the back end of his career
Milner - yes I love the guy but he might want to think about playing a season for leeds or staying with us, on big wages
Origi - scored some important goals but doesn't really get a game for us needs to move to play week in week out
Phillips - done well so far this year but will be moved on
Gini - seems to be like the club and player can't agree so should move on
Karuis - need a complete refresh
Grujic - messed about by us needs a fresh start (do think he'll become a top player)
Wilson - messed about by us
Taiwo - never going be able to play for us
Larouci - wanted to leave anyway
Lewis - needs move on for his sake to kick start his career
Arroyo - never going to play for us.

We badly need some of our current young players to make the grade - trent helps massively and I think there is little chance that Jones won't cut it. But with Elliot, neco Williams, kelleher, cain and Clarkson all hovering around that area where they need to start stepping up or risk fading back, we desperately need at least two of them to come through even if we need to take risks to give them the field time they need to develop. Personally I think kelleher and elliot will be fine as long as we get elliot back next season and let him play, but Clarkson should get a lot more focus than he gets now as someone who could be lead through.

Because otherwise we're going to end up spending millions replacing players who currently count towards our homegrown quota like milner who play enough that they need replacing but not enough to warrant the price tag that a hg replacement for them would incur. We need to do some future proofing as well as reacting to the problems we have now if we want any chance of actually seeing real benefit of a very talented generation of young players rather than trying to react every season to challenges we knew about for 3 of 4 years but did nothing to prepare for.

Do Curtis Jones and Neco Williams not count as Home Grown. or are they not registered because they are U21?

hjikle, we can offload some of them on a large transfer fee to Bournemouth once they are promoted back to the EPL.
