Ed002 Have Liverpool expressed any interest in Vaclav Kadlec? such a bright player, plays for Frankfurt. I think he had a trail with us, could we go back in for him? Very fast striker, fluent skills and can drift out wide? Only 21 aswell.

I have read previous that Liverpool are hoping to open contract talks with suarez to make him their highest paid player and in line with the big earners at Chelsea and man city. Whilst the eds on here mention his representatives are constantly going round clubs trying to get him the move he craves. What is the situation now as it stands? Cheers in advance

The situation pertaining to Suarez is. that he's scored 17 goals in 11 Premier League games for Liverpool. :)

Situation is if he can get x amount more and get clf he will go and doubt

A newspaper reporting that Suarez and his agent are likely to open up talks with the club about a new contract. If that had even the slightest bit of truth to it, I imagine it would be to ensure a solid buy-out clause is put in.

What would make him stay, as pure supposition? FA Cup win, at least 3rd place and 250k+ a week?

Believable15 Unbelievable21

250k a week!? You're dreaming. Liverpool can't afford to pay that.

Agree0 Disagree1

That's the point though. The Eds (002 especially) have been saying he's after a big payday. If we want to keep him, we have to pay what he wants or accept he is gone.

Agree1 Disagree1

Just pay him whatever he wants. He's just that good. I'll chip in towards his salary of need be.

Agree2 Disagree0

In the modern game, money is king for many a player and player's representatives. I think Suarez has had two or three new contracts in as many years which I think is pretty unusual when the behaviour problems have been so publicized, but when a player is clearly as outstandingly good and ''productive'' as Suarez is, personally i'd try to keep him. Paying Suarez £200k a week is probably cheaper than buying two players and paying them £100k a week each, as an example (Spurs with Lamela and Soldado).

I don't think any of the LFC squad would/could grumble if Suarez was offered a super deal, as Suarez has been a standout performer in a performance based game, with only Ramsey, Sturridge and Aguero anywhere near his performances and they are all still some way a way. Suarez is currently the only player who can be squeezed into the bracket of quality that Messi and Ronaldo have achieved, even if only my opinion, and ultimately it shows Liverpool reward outstanding productivity, but i'm just a fan who doesn't know all too much.

I'd obviously understand if Suarez wanted to go to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich to waltz his way into the Champions League every season and have a good chance of doing the same for the League or for personal ambition, but if I was in charge of Liverpool F.C keeping Suarez would be my priority and finishing in the top four is the first step to climbing that mountain. IMHO.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think paying him to keep him would be the most sensible solution. We need him not only for his ability but for the encouragement to the other youngsters in the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

If spurs have taught us anything, they have taught us that u cannot sell and replace your best and most influential player with quantity. You need almost to the same type of quality and they would never have achieved that. No amount of players can replace not just the man Suarez but his sheer quality and ability on the field. NO WAY! Like someone said, I`d rather pay Suarez whatever he wants than sell him for a fortune and replace him w/ a pack of players of inferior quality. In economics, cost efectiveness and value are very important. Hence, PAY HIM WHAT HE WANTS!

Agree1 Disagree0

Let me remind you all that Suarez was missing for the first part if the season and did we really miss him? Don't get me wrong we should try and keep him but not lose sight of what is best for the club financially. A balancing act

Agree0 Disagree1

Personally I would like him to continue like he is and then take the 100million coming to us.

Play Couthino in the number 10 position just behind Sturridge.

100 million will get us a decent LB (15m), a left sided player of say Sanchez quality (30m) (not particularly him but that standard) Another attacking midfileder (25m) and if FSG could throw in their normal 20million budget a another striker to rotate with sturridge. (maybe offer 20-30 million for Lukaku)

basically I would sell next summer. Spurs simply bought to many players who are too simular.

Hi Eds, thanks for great site. It seems that we are in for Salah, a winger, which slightly bemuses me as I thought our priorities are for left back and central/defensive midfield? Also what's the score with Jordan Ibe? Will he also go to Derby on loan as he's not getting any playing time. Cheers.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the interest in Salah for the past couple of months. Ibe might well go on loan.}

I agree that we need a Left Back and a Central Midfielder, but for me we need a more dynamic mid as appose to a Defensive Mid though. We probably also need an experienced Striker on loan someone like Quagliarella or Vucinic(I Wish). Just send Cissokho back to make the loan move happen.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I would not get your hopes up.}

We have Sterling and Suso, Volland is not needed.
