OK,here goes, im a liverpool lad who lives out here in usa,
1 ) i dont have insider information, what i get is what i grovel for, but i do here things,

2) i know the eds are going to shoot me down for this but its what ive herd and want to believe.

3) when f.sg bought the club they got a deal and they know it, with cost of club and the sighnings they have done plus incomeing money from transfers there outlay at moment is less than 500 mil closer to 400, they new the whole pakage was trying to be touted at 600, they got lucky, they know that 500 was NEVER going to get success,

4) Have hered they will invest a lot more, i hope what i heard is correct, iv not they will probly try to make the club viable then sell.

5) anyone you talk to over hre says the same thing there ruthless but there WINERS, so hold on to your hats lads lets see whice way they go, from what i see over here they are in it to WIN, THATS THE WAY THEY WILL MAKE MONEY

martin p

p.s once again i apologise for spelling i cant spell : ) {Ed022's Note - Why would we 'shoot you down'? This site isn't about us Eds, it's about Liverpool Rumours is it not? I disagree that FSG got a bargain though, it's true they could have paid much more, but we also had a fair bit of debt etc. The owners are great, as they want to win things and it's clear to see.}

I disagree that 'the owners are great'.

They bought LFC to make money for themselves. Their only interest in our history and traditions is in how they can make money from it. I've no doubt that they'd see the club go under if that was the best way to make money.

We could have worse but they're certainly not the rich benefactors everyone wants to believe they are.

ED 22 mate actualy i should not of used the words shoot me down, i was wrong, just i guess you eds have a greater ear to the football world than i do and i think are probly much more itk than i could ever be, but will disagree yes they got a deal the marketing value of the club world wide shown them that or they would never of touched the club, as i say just what ive hered and groveld for here.

martin p

Thats so funny - Why would we 'shoot you down'? then in less then 10 words you shot him down

As an aside, it is virtually impossible to make money from a Premier League football club and be successful. They are mutally exclusive.

Ed, do we have any interest in Andre Ayew from Marseille? i tried the search function.....

thanks

Kam {Ed022's Note - Not that I know of mate.}

Hi Ed's
When is the earliest we can sign players? What are our chances of signing Oliver Giroud or Luuk De Jong?
cheers {Ed022's Note - The English transfer window opened today, the international window opens July 1st.}

I dindn't fully understand it.
Ed, can we sign players from every league there is or only in England and Wales? {Ed022's Note - Only players from England and Wales until July 1st.}

I still dont get it Ed. I believe one of the Eds said we cannot talk to Diame till June only foreign clubs can. Is it only players still in contract after June we can buy? {Ed002's Note - If he is released from his contract before then Liverpool can talk to him. If not it has to wait until teh form 18 process has completed.}

heard a rumour a few weeks a go from some one in the local press in liverpool that the reds were in talks for david villa went and checked a price at the bookies none available checked again this morning he s now 6to1 just wondered if macca or the edd s heard anything thanks joe the red Y.N.W.A {Ed022's Note - No way in hell.}

14 May 2012 22:09:27
What is the current situation on Christian Eriksen of Ajax? Anyone interested? Are we interested? Asking price? Likelihood?

A lot of questions I know {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

Its only 1 year Ed002, its not more then 3 weeks ago i saw an interwiev with him were he said one maybe two depending on wich offers came in etc

He wont be signing for us anytime soon.

Ed 022 Now I can understand it's not been the season we all expected but for heaven's sake this is KK who's manager and not just anybody who's just there for the money. He wants success as any true Liverpool supporter. KK's been my hero the moment he scored at Wembley against Bruges many years ago. I can't for a moment speak ill of him. I hope FSG give him another chance. Somehow it doesn't seem right for fans wanting him to move on. I know nobody's bigger than LFC and I have to put sentiment aside but I can't. KK needs time and a better squad of players. Ed 022...Do you expect FSG to make an announcement regarding KK's future this week? {Ed022's Note - Mate I'm not questioning KK as a legend of this great club, or as an individual, but in his own words: 'the table never lies'. I personally don't mind what happens with him with regards to being manager, as I'm happy to be patient. However, I do expect an announcement soon whether it be positive, or negative.}

Ed022 i think you are very sensible and nice. that was a balanced comment which reflects majority of the fans' perceptions. {Ed022's Note - Thanks mate, just doing my job.}

I have one thing to say to all the people who want kenny gone ,If we get rid of kenny we will be the laughing stock of the football world kenny loves the club and fans and will step aside himself if it has to be done let the man do it himself.
The players are the ones who need to be told (we will spend the cash and replace you if you do not play well)kk is liverpool fc and people need to remember that before they call for his head.
Eam

To original post stop been sentimental ya tit do we wanna suffer another bad record breaking season just to give ur hero another season.HE CAN'T MANAGE!!!

Ask any other fan now of any club we are the laughing stock already saying he should be gone. His signings, manners and Suarez affair he is a ledge but just an old buffoon now we are being mocked cos we can't see past his past glories to realise how bad a manager he actually is. He spent over 100 million and we can't do better than 8 and if anyone mentions carling cup again sat Birmingham how they felt last season was

To OP what happens half way through next season when we are out of the champions league hunt by January? Will you call for him to resign? we have to strike while the iron is hot, Cappello, Rafa, AVB are all jobless currently and we need someone to advance on 8th in the league. If Kennys stays do you think we'll magically win the league next year or something? it's complete delusion.

Muppets the last two posters.
Buffoon ah.....i suggest you support another club.
JFT96

Steve J

So in other words if Kenny goes will we 'magically win the league next year'?? Lets not become an Aston Villa or Spurs and change managers every 12 months (Redknapp aside).

I'd prefer we spent our money on new players and not paying off managers contracts every year..and you can p*ss off with your avb capello and rafa talk.. YagEraDetinu

edds is there any truth in alonso not getting a new contract mate at real madrid would love him back think we have missed him in the mid any chance or do you think he to old now mate thanks {Ed022's Note - There is a chance he will return to Liverpool, but perhaps next summer is more realistic.}

Hi Ed022 why do you think Alonso( which i hope he does) return....YNWA!! {Ed022's Note - Because he said he wants to return to Liverpool before he retires. However, I am not saying this is certain, and it will probably not be this summer!}

Why will we need an 31 year old midfielder on heavy wages?

Would be great to see alonso return "home" we have never replaced him and proberly never will for years to come so hopefully he will be back to give us a boost

Thank you Ed022 i never knew he said that. {Ed022's Note - No worries.}

He'd certainly show a certain number 26 a few passes & crosses

14 May 2012 21:24:48
ed022, 2 quick questions

do you support liverpoo?

do you think we will get stuck with aquilani?

thanks {Ed022's Note - I do support Liverpool yes. I believe we will get stuck with him unfortunately, unless we get a stroke of luck and manage to sucker some team with his lazy self.}

I hope we do get stuck with him - a talented footballer in the middle of the park - wow, how we could use that.

I hope we get him back, in pre season he always looked good, amazing at roma before we got him, he is creative and can split defences, we have spearing and adam id rather have 1 aqua

Last poster you would rather have someone who fakes injuries to get out of playing some1 who doesnt want to be in england some1 who,s agent touts him around europe on the hope of getting him away from liverpool rather than adam and spearing 2 lads who give there all for liverpool your seriously deluded

PLEASE POST EDS
Breaking news just in...

Eden Hazard has said that he'll be moving to Manchester but has not specified whether he'll be playing for City or United....

Red PG

He said he will be playing for blue color... {Ed022's Note - He's also said he'd like to join Spurs, and Arsenal, and Manchester United, and Manchester City, and Real Madrid and Barcelona and Juventus and Inter Milan and Roma and Palermo and Anzhi. Seriously don't take anything that kid says seriously.}

Breaking news - that was reported weeks ago - good copy though.

Well considering that he has said that he will be playing for a team in blue next season and since Utd have a blue away strip.....you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes from here my friend

Maybe he will commute to Liverpool. Lol

MIKEY

What has this got to do with LFC???

When added together with his quote last week of "it's blue i'll be wearing next season" and you get...!

Who cares ?

Hes off to bury

Hmmm. Said he'd wear blue....

Hazards a tart.

Wow so he is going to Birmingham city? Lol hazard can get in the bin, he is frustrating me more Adam was when he was playing!

14 May 2012 20:52:40
Hi Eds-apologies if you answered this months ago but I wondered if you knew what the situation with Dani Pacheco's LFC future was? It looked like he was set for a huge future after the Euro U-19s and then his loan spell at Norwich but he seems to have had a very quiet year in Spain?! Cheers H {Ed022's Note - I believe his time at Liverpool is now over mate.}

He cant even score in La Liga, he has no chance in BPL...

Thats a huge pity he had alot of potential

14 May 2012 20:41:09
Taraabt? any chance? how much? Opinions?
Not saying we should but it'd be an interesting punt {Ed022's Note - No.}

Why would it be interesting? he's an awful player with a bad attitude. Don't know why people rate him other than a championship player

14 May 2012 20:38:58
heard from internal source, glen johnson will not be leaving this summer.

I hope that's true

Took a genius to work that out grrat journalist, glen johnson without doubt will be a liverool player next season

14 May 2012 20:22:29

A/CM...Eriksen..Ajax..£18m
SC..De Jong..FC Twente..£12m
Total (£40m)

What you think Eds?? plenty of good players floating around for free transfers imho...

£6m for kuyt. have u been taking sumfin. no way will u get £6m for kuyt. for spearing max ur going to get is £2m. and joe cole aswell. dont think your gonna get £6m either. sorry to upset u

Adam will stay, the others i am unsure.
but ins, Diame is the only sure one, Hoillet and Barnetta would be nice, De jong possible ...

Seems like a good summer

The funniest part of that amazing dream is £4m for Spearing, you could get about £3.9m in change. Then of course you have to laugh at the silly numbers you're hoping for for Cole, Kuyt, Aquilani and Maxi.

Cole, maxi and aquilani will go for free to ever will take them, kuyt will go for about a million

I dont want to imagine the wage bill after that

Your proposed fees we will recieve are way out mate. We will probably only get a million for Kuyt, nothing for Cole, nothing for Maxi, and Roma won't even pay 5m Euros for Aquilani

18 mill for eriksen I WISH.

ACHILLES

Whos' gonna buy Spearing for 4 million? Are you dreaming or what?

Am I the only one that thinks we could actually get money fo Maxi? yeah, he's 30-odd, but is a great player!

not sure why i asked that, i dont even want him to leave!

The embarrassing moment when you realise your out of touch with the beautiful game.

Freebies will never change a team, only fill the squad

Are you playing fifa?

Hi Eds,

Sorry to be a bore but have you heard of any rumours in Lewandonski? I've heard a few people throwing hisname round latley and was wondering if you could shed any light!

Cheers

Muller {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund but Dortmund certainly do not want to sell him to BM. At present they have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

I hear today that united are keen on him and also on Kagawa and Hummels but Dortmund will only want to lose one player and they are prepared for that to be Kagawa
Can you confirm Ed?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed022's Note - United have had Kagawa and rumours have it that they have watched Hummels also. Kagawa has stated that he couldn't turn down United if they came in for him, but it looks likely both players will stay with Dortmund.}

Signings For The Summer?
With no champions league football and a very poor season on a whole,the chances of us bringing in top rate players is slim so here are my signings in the summer;

Bas Dost(10-15 Million)
Rasmus Elm(7 Million)
Scott Sinclair(6 Million)
Moussa Dembele(7 Million)
Mohammed Diame(Free)

All of these players are young and promising,wouldn't cost too much either!

Out

Maxi
Dirk
Jay

I also heard earlier that City want Skrtel for A Johnson + £25m, love Skrtel but would have to take that offer

Scott Sinclairs over 30 and he'll probably be playing CL footie with Spurs next season. Why would he want to switch to LFC in the summer?
And yes, I am an LFC fan, but put yourself in his position and think about it.

Scott Sinclair is 23 and plays for Swansea, you dolt.

You're thinking of Scott Parker.

TSP {Ed022's Note - Easy mistake I guess?}

Raid on Fulham. Dembele best prospect for next season. Take Dempsey as well.

I have heard from friend that works at Spire hospital that Mark Waller who was head doctor at LFC when Houllier was there is now on his way back to LFC, they have also confirmed that Kenny will be DOF and wait for it!! Pep Guardiola will be our next manager. Remember where you heard it!

Rachel5030

Mate what are you smoking ....we have more chance of Alex Ferguson being our manager than Pep Guardiola, rather post something more realistic next time ...

manutdhater

Lost all credibility with the Guardiola comment. If the rumours are true about the wage packet that he turned down at Chelsea I can't see him at Liverpool unfortunately.
RealisticRed

Ha ha ha that made me chuckle. I heard McLeish is on his way up as Peps second,. Pep thinks he could learn a lot from Big Eck.

Dirks Engine Room

How I wish this was true *sighs*

What is the point of making all this up. As a Liverpool Fan. As much as Pep would be brilliant . His wages on their own would be too demanding. And also he's said that he's taking a break from football for a while.

What a load of bo***cks.

We will see!!

Rachel5030

Absolute garbage, but well done on being inventive :0)

Pep is actually more possible than people give credit for. If you are a top manager who has already proved his worth and won a hoard of trophies at the best team in the world over the past few years - where do you go from there?
You challenge yourself, and Liverpool would be a massively rewarding challenge for a manager of his credentials.

If Guardiola becomes our next manager I'll eat my own face.

If pep becomes our mgr, I'll marry rachael5030, and you're all invited

I posted this last week Kd staying 1 more year before pepe comes getted excited cos it is fact

If you marry rachel5030 and invite me ill stalk pep until he decides to be our manager lol

If this is true I will have kids with Rachel 5030 and call them pep

LOL you guys crack me up.lovin the whole 'if pep becomes our manager,il eat my own face ' lol haha

A load of nonsense, Doc Waller coming back how many injuries did he misdiagnose during is time at the club.

Pep Guardiola seems a decent honest man, and he publicly declared that his stepping down from Barcelona was because he needed a break from football.
So purely from that aspect, this seems very unlikely!

However, Guardiola is an admirer of Liverpool and has been quoted as saying that Liverpool have the second best academy in Europe (behind Barcelona).
He's obviously friends with Pep Segura and Rodolfo Borrel as well.

But I still don't see it happening!

Joe

Swansea manager spent fxxx all kk spent it all been a fan since 1976 very un happy pep would be brilliant kk director of footie yes

Rachel5030 will have to divorce me first before she marries anyone else or has kids with them!

If this is true,il father peps children.though i may need some sort of funky procedure done in the back streets of thailand

I doubt it, I know Mark Waller, he was my family Doctor till the day he quit his practice by Ford cemetry to go to LFC. He is a die hard fan, but was really hurt when he was given his marching orders. After the clowns left Rafa invited him back and he refused!

14 May 2012 19:33:45
Can you see Reina leaving, for Málaga, for example?
If so, who do you think could replace him? Are we looking at ter Stegen and Zieler?

Martinez would be or luuk de jong. kuyt was suppose to be a striker, we sacrificed a winger to make room for him.

Start brad jones his son luca death has give him emmense strength ... Personally him and gulaci (sp) would be good even Doni if he stays... Reina is world class but this year he has played horrible...

Ronillz

Zydrunas Karcemarskas from Gyazantespor (contract should be ending this summer). He's good and he's one of the most underrated GK's i know. Could be replacement for Reina if he leaves?

(Un-realistic) Only I'd only want Joe Hat to replace Reina..but that ain't gonna happen so what about Vorm or al habsi?

14 May 2012 19:34:47
i'm from cro, and have some relations with certian Mamić from Dinamo, liverpool scauts were on last 2 games watching badelj and vrsaljko, bid is preparing around 5 M for vrsaljko and 7 m for badelj

Eds is this guys ip add from croatia? Or is he another billy bull sh!tter?

Killerpool {Ed022's Note - I didn't post this, but who knows.}

Yes i am, he can check it, i live in Split, in our country it is easy to get some info for transfers regarding Hajduk or Dinamo, as they are always boosting their players to sell, yesterday i was in Zagreb on pitch with Dinamo's coach and he said " Badelj is leaving this summer and liverpool,Lokomotiv Moskva and Palermo are interested " {Ed002's Note - As previously stated Dinamo Zagreb's Milan Badelj has been looked at by Liverpool (two games in March), Lazio and Spurs - but Palermo are keen to push for a deal as soon as possible. I did not know of the interest of Locomotiv.}

We have scouts everywhere

14 May 2012 19:24:38
xabi alonso,is not getting a new contract with real madrid...liverpool bound hopefully

Where have you got this from, i am not being sarcastic, i just wanna see it for myself

Hes key for madrid why would he not get a new contract stop with this nonsense

Never happen.

Time to let go dude.
RealisticRed

He's still got two years left I think, so it's not exactly urgent for Real is it?

Papa G

Heskey for Madrid? Oh wait, no punctuation.

SpanishChris

Come on be serious

Why wouldn't he?
Without him they would be closer to valencia than barca.
For all the goals ronaldo scores he wont help the team.
Xabi is just amazing

14 May 2012 19:16:21
hey ed do you see Nicolás Lodeiro of Ajax coming to lfc this summer or any other team for that matter thank you
lfc all day {Ed002's Note - There was interest from Liverpool a couple of years ago. Udinese and Palermo have shown some interest in Lodeiro in recent months I am told.}

14 May 2012 19:11:54
The Dalglish/Boston trip.

According to Koptalk a source close to Dalglish said: "He's going to explain how he see's things but he thinks it's over... we don't know yet."

Make of that what you will. Chances are with it being from Koptalk it's a load of old bullcr*p anyway.

Why do people take any notice of that fat slime on Kraptalk.

Any mention of it should be banned on here.

More made up carp than any tabloid or sites like and caughtoffside put together.

14 May 2012 19:00:09
People from Boston are claiming that Kenny got sacked this morning...

I don't think people from Boston only know the word "sack" referring to American football when a player tackles a quarterback.

SLURed

Ooohhhh!

kenny has to go man really

I didn't know Boston were still going let alone interested in football. More of an Oyster Cult man myself

Kenny should resign.

Well he hasn't has he ?

Whats that support to mean? That we Americans are stupid or something?

Americans are rather stupid {Ed002's Note - Some are and some are not. I hope I am in the second category.

14 May 2012 18:54:55
Hi Ed's, haven't been on a while, but of the following list of managers I don't suppose you could comment on the chances of them joining us (without simply 'nope' 'no chance' 'or none whatsoever') as they're the only ones I've seen to be linked with us?

Andre Villas-Boas,
Jurgen Klopp,
Brendan Rogers,
Roberto Martinez,
Rafa Benitez?

{Ed002's Note - This has been done to death already - you need to catch up on the posts.}

14 May 2012 18:53:14
According to two people I know who are connected to the club - all be it nothing imporant, the staff are fairly relaxed that Dalglish is staying for at least another season. Not much leaks these days but the staff gossip is that Daglish has gone to the US to talk thorugh buying and selling players. Because of the Euro 2012, the main push will be to sort out the agreements and paperwork over the next few weeks, then sort out the actual relocation of the player(s) after the Euros. Makes sense to me. RED LENIN

I think the staff are in for a surprise. If the owners wanted to talk about players, they would do it at Mellwood.

Bit disrespectful to get Kenny to go to their home to be given the sack, don't yer think? Let's wait and see what happens.

Keith

Hope that it is true that kenny is staying

Avid follower of the site... Can't take the crap questions... I think all the Editors are the most coolest at there jobs... What patience lads...

As a Liverpool fan.. I hope all our top players are retained.. Players Like De jong/Elia/Suasaeta/Diame/Elm are bought in to improve the squad... and Finally I hope Liverpool fans are one percent as patient as Eds..

Eds, am I right in saying that marco bueno will be jointing up with Liverpool on a permanent contract in the summer due to the fact that he has know turned 18 an we can officially sign him. I know he signed a pre contract with us in the summer.

My question is do you think he is good enough to be used as a substitute strike on the bench. Do you think he will take to English football as well as Hernandez did for united.

JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I don't know if he will and don't know what the work permit situation is.}

Thanks for answering. When do you think the situation will be cleared up. {Ed022's Note - No idea as of yet.}

14 May 2012 18:47:13
Milan have tried to buy vertonghan! but they have released a statement to say that hes signed for an english side! any idea as to who? the rumour now is that they will look at agger? {Ed002's Note - It will more likely be Spurs rather than Arsenal if an agreement has been reached.}

14 May 2012 18:38:37
i know i'm gonna get some stick for saying this but personally i think jarvis is a good player and i wouldn't mind seeing him in an lfc shirt, he would be cheap and i'm pretty sure he would do a better job than downing (cant get much worse).

I agree with what you say, but I would strongly use Jarvis as a last resort. Oh you are right you can't get worse than Downing.

Id prefer have steven fletcher as a back up striker.

ACHILLES.

I agree. Good squad player and natural width. Can't be worse than our current option.

He may be gd but hes not a player who's goin to take his club forward 'championsleague' let's be realistic!

Another downing fact would be a piss poor signing nowhere near the caliber of player we need to get back into the top 4

But he wouldnt be another Downing because he wouldn't cost £20m. For around £5m, he would be a good addition to the squad.

He is no better than downing so price doesnt matter if liverpool have ambitions of another mid table season by all means go get him but if we want top 4 may go out and get a much better winger than jarvis

No I believe Jarvis would be a good signing

He would be a good signing, he doesn't show the lack of confidence that downing does and his final ball is much better than stu's

Yout don't have to look any further than his stats. He is the highest amount of crosses for a winger this season. He also had goals which Downing can't even dream of getting. All round he is a better player for me than Downing. He might be a squad player but any player can make a difference...

14 May 2012 18:24:06
Roma have turned down the chance to re-sign Alberto Aquilani for a massively reduced fee of just three million euros! No club in Italy wants him, due to his wage demands. I think Liverpool will be stuck with him until his contract expires. General Huckerby

Think liverpool should count their loses and just let him leave on a free {Ed002's Note - Interestingly, as I nearly mentioned the other day, I would not entirely rule out Aquilani staying in Milan just yet.}

Well if we are stuck with him (I say stuck because he apparently doesn't want to be here) then play him in the eserves...DON'T
let him get away for nothing and DON'T accept another loan to an Italian club. If he wants away badly enough he can drop his wage demands

Puzzled

If Aquaman had no choice but to play for Liverpool we would have a great player to help us. Rather him any day to half of the current squad.

14 May 2012 18:16:58
Even if I want kenny to leave I don't think why will the owner call him to america just to sack him eds could we get both munian and gaston rimerez {Ed002's Note - Don't hold your breath.}

Why would you want kenny to leave ?

Comolli was sacked after visiting Florida. So this is very ominous for Kenny.

Tats cause kenny is staying
He has gone to discuss transfers

14 May 2012 17:33:00
eds do we have interest in berbatov and drenthe? {Ed002's Note - I know only of the rumours - but I would be surprised if Liverpool do have an interest.}

I'd take Berbatov only if Carroll was sold. Then another striker in the Soldado and De Jong frame would be good business.

I personally dont want a MAN Und cast off at are club.

ACHILLES.

Berbatov is old, lazy and inconsistant - Drenthe is young, lazy and inconsistant. There is hungrier players available out there.

Really hope nit

HI edds what do you think about demba ba from newcastle i think if we paid his buy out of 6 mill we would get a class player for little money an will score plenty of goals with the right service an i dont think he will get a head off pappa cisse next season an i work with a newcastle fan an hes heard newcastle are looking at another striker an just one more thing what do you think of what joey barton done what a waist of space thanks {Ed002's Note - The "buy out" is something that can only be invoked by a team in the Champions League.}

Joey is a LEDG!

Since benitez's days we don't sign African players club policy due to African cup

14 May 2012 17:37:06
PSG have asked to be kept informed on Joe Cole's situation and are willing to pay €4million for his services and his wage demands shouldn't be a problem. QPR, West Ham (dependent on if they promoted) and Lille are also interested in him.

Pacman {Ed002's Note - There might bean option of a second year at Lille on reduced wages if he cannot be sold.}

Eds, gud site...
Need ur answer..
-if Kenny move upstair, can u see Brendan Rogers got chance to be our new manager? He brought good style of football to swansea..Plus maybe he can bring sinclair or dyer together with him.
-Why FSG policy to buy english talent? Do they know that english player only be bought by another epl club. Player market is not global. Instead when we buy foreign talent, resale value high n can be market globally.
-Any chance we get esteban granero on loan? Love to see him play beside Lucas nxt season.

Lfc'forever {Ed002's Note - Wait and see about the manager. The "policy" issue has been done to death. Granero is surplus to long-term requirements in Madrid and will likely leave the summer. Granero could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla back in January but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well but there is no confirmation of either clubs interest.}

For ur info it was roberto martinez that got swansea playing like that when he was there jus like hes got wigan doing.

I suppose this is another example of how far we've fallen when fans want Brendan bloody Rogers and think we'd be lucky to land a couple of Swansea players...

14 May 2012 17:25:58
Liverpool made a serious error in the transfer market they over looked the jellyman from Rangers what a buy from Moyes see Kopites Moyes turns 5 million pound players into 30 million pound players KK turns 35 millon pound players into 5 million pound players what a waist lads i think u will agree .Stef the blue.

Or maybe in a Everton team even average players look good.

Kenny make too many Error any other manager do it sure out of club now. Hope Kenny resign

Yer bt I would pay £35 million to see that goal again that knocked use out!!

"what a WAIST" - are you suggesting Andy Carroll is rather fat?

Stef the blue you can't even spell waste properly. So why in the hell am I going to listen to you, you moron.

This season: Liverpool wins 3, Everton wins 0.

How much Liverpool care about finishing above Everton: 0 - 18 League Titles and 5 European Cups have kept them plenty busy elsewhere.

Now crawl back to bed.

Not sure who has the vbetter waist actually

Carrolls 23 alot younger than Jelavic, which I do agree is a bargain buy for a class striker but big Andy is starting to adapt to our style and new surroundings now and I believe and have faith that he will live up to his price tag next season so beware for next season as you could be eating your words.
Skurks

LOL Everton, see you in Europe next year ...oh wait. Nevermind at least you have your cup success to fall back on ...oops.

The jellyman wanted to come to us but we pulled out , kenny wanted his buys to keep playing to try to prove to everyone he was right to buy them , unless we get rid of downing then we will continue in the same form , maybe tenth next season if downing is still with us

He didn't do she*p when he played us! {Ed002's Note - I would hope not!}

Considering Carroll has finally clicked in the last 6 weeks this is quite possibly the most stupid comment going. 17 years.

His da begged liverpool to buy him because he knew if he went to man utd reserves he will never win anything.

30 million for jelavic dont make me laugh and carroll is worth more than 5 million, did he not actually score against everton in the semi final ? hmmm dont get me wrong moyes is a great manager but why bother coming onto this page to slabber ?

Are you high?? If any team were to pay 35 million pounds for Nikica Jelavic they'd be crazy! and Andy Carroll is starting to look decent so get behind our team instead of continuously slagging them off!

To be honest i dont really watch carroll's waist,i just watch the game,learn to spell especially if your trying to take the pi*s moron

Molby's Big Toe

Jelavic is decent but uncle Bill will sell him to the highest bidder withing two years anyway.

Only small clubs like EFC can get away with paying those prices for players. As soon as Utd LFC Chelski etc look to buy the price jumps

Oh crikey! Another absolute whopper. The lad has had half a season and suddenly he's a £30million world beater a la Fancis Jeffers, Danny Cadamatri, Dan Gosling.
Stay off the ale, lad.

Jelavic is a tap in merchant carrol creates goals and at his best is unplayable

Moyes has never won a trophy, Dalglish has won 6 for Liverpool in less time

14 May 2012 17:25:38
Hello Eds,
when will we know if KK goes or leaves and who will replace him if he goes. {Ed002's Note - We don't know.}

Well first I will make clear that I want Dalglish to stay
However if Kenny did move upstairs I'd probably look at Martin O'Neill

14 May 2012 17:25:04
hi eds is there any possibility of signing jordan rhodes this summer? its not the quick fix we all want regarding a big name established goal scorer but maybe 1 for the future? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest at this time.}

He'll most likely join wednesday and join up with his father if huddersfield and no big sides join the race for him

14 May 2012 17:24:37
Just a quick question for Macca, ED02, ED16 or ED19 if possible,

What is your take on FSG, i am happy with them to a degree but they seem happy to sell players (i.e ED02 seems to think we could sell Suarez)

My point is if we were to sell Suarez and replace him with Gaston Ramirez for example, say he has a great season and Chelsea for example put in a big offer would they sell again, just a bit concerned we may become a bit of a feeder club instead of keeping our big players and building.

Thanks, Dorset-red {Ed002's Note - I think Liverpool has good responsible owners who will do their best for the club. If Suarez is sold it will not be the owners looking to profiteer.}

If its ed002 saying that it has to really be an unbiased opinion
so we need to trust in the owners
Harsh

Ed002 did not the owners say when they took over they would buy young players with quality then sell them for a profit , abit like arsenal do {Ed002's Note - No, I think you may be confusing profiteering and a rational approach to the financial management of a football club in the 21st Century. You have nifty owners. Be thankful.}

14 May 2012 17:24:10
Hello Ed002 or any of great Eds,
when do you think it will be clear who will be the manager next season? {Ed002's Note - We really don't know.}

14 May 2012 17:21:04
Apparently Skrtel has handed in a transfer request and Man City are willing to offer £25m and Adam Johnson. You heard anything on this eds?? {Ed002's Note - No, try Twitter.}

Behave, £25m AND Adam Johnson? Sounds feasible, why not ask for Silva, Aguero and Tevez instead.

Chiz

I really don't want Skrtel to go, but I'd definitely take that offer!

DP

Skrtel aint worth that ffs, 10 to 12 million, and clubs dont do exchanges like that in reality. Turn off your FM game and get back in the real world! Its idiots like you who make us all look a joke

Id bite their hand off

Yep the player of the season who promises to be even better next season has decided to call it a day

Hmmmm do I detect a hint of sarcasm? Don't play with our emotions like that
RealisticRed {Ed022's Note - It's not exactly subtle sarcasm mate...}

I seriously worry about some of our fans and this need to beeleive EVERYTHING they read in a paper or on twitter... £25m and Adam Johnson? Really?.. Ur actually reading that and thinking.. yea.. sounds realistic.. come on ppl.. we used to be known for being intelligent fans!..
ItsNotRocketScience

Skrtel? That makes him about £40-£45million :o.

Just think, we could buy two more Downings with that:)

14 May 2012 16:47:08
Hi eds, any interest from liverpool in these players:
1. Perisic - Dortmund
2. Blascycowski (Kuba)- Dortmund
3. Yilmaz - Trabzonspor
4. Nilmar - Villarreal
5. Borja Balero - Villrreal
6. Krasic . Juve
7. Jesus Navas - Sevilla
8. Ibisevic - Sttutgart
9. Pablo Armero - Udinese {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

14 May 2012 15:54:57
Hi Ed's do we have a chance of getting victor moses/junior hoilett? {Ed002's Note - There is no confirmation of interest in either at this time.}

We are aiming for the stars with them 2 players mentioned , maybe crouch would be better because he is closer to the stars , if we want sucess then we need to go for the best , from a new manager to coaching staff and top players , otherwise after this season we will struggle again in the next season and others after that

14 may 2012 15:49:53
hi eds any intrest in farfan? we no he is available on a free personally i don't think much of him he's overated.

i think we will have around 45 million to spend + player sales

the players i can see comming in so far is

luuk de jong
mohammed diame
adam johnson
xabi alonso

with outs of
aqua
adam
spearing
maxi
aurellio
doni
{Ed002's Note - Farfan is staying at Schalke.}

I think you are deluded in alonso returning no matter how much i would want this i just dont see if happening even if he does love liverpool and as for spearing we should keep him i no e has had some horrid games but he has also had some brilliant ones he is still learning his trade and always gives his best

Ok cheers ed thank god haha anyone think suso and silva mite be involved next season bit more like sterling has?

We won't get alonso

14 May 2012 16:32:56
Hi Ed002 hve I heard anythin new the hugo lloris story?I personally think reina is a great goalkeeper,bt he hve been off form this season,I think liverpool sould sign another welknown keeper like(lloris maybe) sodat he/reina know he have fight for his 1ste team place in the sqaud!4rm keanon {Ed002's Note - I don't know of a Lloris story - but Milan are likely to move for him.}

Why would lloris sit on the bench in europa league when he starts in the champions league?

Please learn the English grammar before posting

14 May 2012 16:32:49
Where will Kuyt be next season? ... is he definatley leaving Liverpool?

Depends on the manager situation i guess nothing is definate

14 May 2012 16:17:22
eds any idea where farfan will be playing next year {Ed002's Note - Schalke.}

Did he sign a new contract {Ed002's Note - Yes. That is why he will still be at Schalke.}

14 May 2012 16:03:21
Lucas Barrios has joined Guangzhou Evergrande from China for 8.5mill.
Was there any interest from LFC? Is he good aswell? {Ed002's Note -Wolfsburg, Espanyol and Sevilla were known to be interested.}

Eds as he definitely gone? (barrios) {Ed002's Note - If you search the Liverpool page for Guangzhou you can find the date - perhaps mid March for an offer and a couple of weeks back for a done deal. This really is quite old news. He won't be moving to Liverpool.}

14 May 2012 14:52:54
martin skrtel on LFCTV: "my first big trophy since coming to Liverpool... i've had my best season since coming. I hope i will carry on this way... [message to Liverpool supporters] i will try to carry on like this next season."

not going anywhere lads.

You beat me to it. i was gonna copy that to lol

Hate to reina on the parade (get it?) but the statement doesnt mean anything.

im not saying i think Martin will leave - i sincerely hope he doesnt. Point is that announcements on the official website - run by a communications team whose job it is to promote the club and its staff - wont have any effect on club business.

14 May 2012 13:28:16
Is there any chance of LFC making a surprise move for Markus Henriksen as I've been told no other clubs are looking at him, he is a great talent and seems to be under-rated. {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Markus Henrikson is from PSV, Brugge and Schalke. Interest from Aston Villa and Bayern Munich has waned.}

14 May 2012 12:34:10
Hi Ed,

with villareal relegated from La Liga, will Liverpool try to look to purchase one or two of their players as im sure their half decent players will not appreciate playing in the second tier of spanish football. we can atleast offer european football. i heard we were interested in zapata before he moved to the yellow submarine. just wondered if any interest remains in him or anyone else from villareal?

thanks

Kam {Ed002's Note - No one we know of will be joining at this time.}

14 May 2012 11:46:54
Hi Eds,
Now that Villareal shockingly managed to relegate themselves to play alongside their B team. Would there be a higher chance for LFC to buy one of their players such as Rossi, Nilmar? I know that Mussacio is going to Roma. And if Reina were to leave, would Lopez be a good option?

Cheers and great site
Daniel.O {Ed002's Note - Rossi as someone pointed out has another serious injury and Nilmar is likely to move to Roma, Galatasary, Fiorentina or his favoured Sao Paulo.}

Eds, just of interest in this subject, can Villareal be allowed to play in the same league as their B team, or will they have to be relegated to the league below Segunda B? {Ed002's Note - They cannot play in the same division which has stopped sides being promoted previously so I guess they will either (a) go down to Segunda Division B - the division below where they are now, or (b) some sort of exception exists.}

14 May 2012 11:25:00
hi eds with adam johnson appearing to have fell down the man city pecking order do you think theres a chance he could leave in the summer and would you expect liverpool to try and sign him if he does? {Ed002's Note - I could see him leaving but I don't know if Liverpool would now move for him.}

Great player but with a poor attitude and high wages. I would be surprised if we made a move for him. I don't think given the bad press that recent deals have had that we will be taking any risks. Shame really he has the potential, he maybe moved up to the big time too quickly.
RealisticRed

Hope Johnson does come

14 May 2012 11:21:18
hey eds, any chance or interest in jordan ayew from marseille.
cheers.
red moose {Ed002's Note - No. Jordan Ayew will be staying with Marseille although there has been talk of a loan to either Ajaccio or Mons - although I suspect he will end up being loaned to St Etienne.}

Hi Ed what about his brother? Andre Ayew, looks decent, good winger.
No interest? {Ed002's Note - Andre is not available either but I understand his father might be.}

14 May 2012 15:46:49
Alex McLeish sacked as Villa manager, Roberto Martinez to be his replacement.

Hopefully that will put to bed the Martinez-Liverpool rumours.

He rejected it last year, what makes you think he wont reject it again?

Paul lambert is who the villa fans were chanting for yesterday

He was sacked... But Martinez isn't the new Villa manager.

Personally doubt he'd go there unless he was promised money to spend..

KKM..

Why would martinez leave his own setup at wigan to join aston villa whose squad play the direct opposite way

Martinez wont be villa manager but perhaps brendan rogers or paul lambert could be tempted even thou i also very much doubt they would leave their clubs just yet. my bet would be di matteo if he isnt offered the chelsea job

The only reason they had to hire McLeish is because Martinez turned them down last year. Why would he go this time?

Yeah get Martinez or Lambert.....As long as Capello and Rafa are free for liverpool it's all good. In all seriousness Martinez is a good shout for Villa, McLeish has been a farce.

14 May 2012 15:24:51
We all know we need a striker and we all know that the owners want us in the CL asap without spending a fortune. So step forward........................... Djbril Cisse.

If we do indeed lose Kuyt Maxi Aqulani Cole we need
another established attacking player and he can play wide and upfront

Offer QPR the £4mill they played plus a squad player and we don't have to offer him massive terms just the chance to challenge for trophies rather than fighting relegation and we could still get a young striker ie De Jong as well

RedDan

I think that this would be a great buy and has played for the cluib before so therefore would be pleased and want to come back?

Not a the worst idea but his red cards this year concern me.

KevtheRed

Wouldn't fit in with FSG transfer policy

Although i think cisse as vastly improved as a player since the last time he played for us i agree his lack of discipline is appalling if we go down that route we might aswell sign joey barton seeing as he would also improve our midfield but we dont because as a team we are and always have been a respectful team

Why don't we see if we can get Joey Barton as well . Lol. Av a word mate

Not with his disciplinary record we have had enough controversy this season thank you. He would be interested though I remember a come and get me plea before he joined Lazio.
RealisticRed

I really love this site...it's like entering the Twilight Zone at times. Anybody who thinks that Cisse is the answer and that he still has undying love for the club has to be stuck in a timewarp. Maybe we should look to Ron Yeats if Skrtel goes and maybe Ian Callaghan might see if he can fit into Downing's boots. Stevie Nicol would be a good signing as cover right across the back and Rushie doesn't seem to do too much on the weekends anymore. I would rather have all of them than Cisse btw.

Seriously? Cisse is the only striker I've seen that shuts his eyes before taking a shot

14 May 2012 14:08:37
Have the Eds read the book 'An epic swindle'? I havent but my mate has and he says that a lot of the stuff we take for fact is nonsense and the prime example being Rafa signing Aquilani for 18 mill with the truth being he was offered to us for peanuts and would only cost that much had he played a tonne of games. If this is true I think that all the Rafa hating supporters need to be made aware of this and can see that he was and is clearly a very good manager.I'd love to have him back.
Galls {Ed002's Note - I think you have misunderstood the situation - what you have said is completely untrue.}

LOL the same sort of fan who would would have posted after the evra handshake incident - if you look clearly evra moves his hand away before Suarez goes to shake it.... lol.

Rafas spending was out of control at the club. It was the right time for him to leave...

Aquilani was recommended to Rafa by chief scout Eduardo Macia. Rafa went on with the deal and has to take responsibility.

The situation with Aquilani is that Eduardo Macia, our chief scout at the time, picked him out as a suitable Alonso replacement and we agreed a fee of £20m in installments spaced out over a couple of years, with some of it (but not all of it, or probably even the majority of it) to depend on appearences, whereas the £30m we got for Xabi was all up front. What Rafa didn't know at the time, was that buying Aquilani (& Jonno) virtually exhausted his transfer budget, he was under the impression he'd have the money to sign Jovetic and a centre half too, until Purslow told him otherwise.

His injury was assessed before the transfer and he was expected to be back in training at the end of August. When he arrived, it was clear that wasn't happening. By the time Aquilani was fit, Purslow felt the club had been duped by Roma and instructed Rafa to limit his appearances in order to limit the payment. Thinking that Aqua was going be sold out from under him, Rafa cup tied him in November by playing him for about 8 minutes against Debrecen in our second last CL game to stop that from happening, but his appearances were still limited by directives from upstairs. That's why he rarely played two games in a row with the club trotting out an excuse for missing one each time. For example, he helped us demolish Portsmouth 4-1 in January and then was "sick" for the following game.

(Incidentally, also heard that Purslow pressured the medical staff into passing Torres fit late in the season when he clearly wasn't, resulting in his ultimate breakdown in the Europa QF. But that's not in the book.)

Since then though, Aqua's been to two other clubs and not impressed them enough for a permanent deal, so I think, despite how neat and tidy he looks and the few flashes of quality here and there, we can agree he was never worth the £20m Rafa was ultimately prepared to pay for him. {Ed002's Note - The four installments, the first of which, €5 million, at the signing of the contract of transfer, the second, of €3 million by January 4, 2010, third, of €7 million, by June 30, 2010, and a fourth, of €5 million, by June 30, 2011.

That is €20 million.

The “add ons” are::
€0.3 million for each time that Liverpool participate in the Champions League, during the seasons 2010/2011 to 2014/2015, to up to a maximum of € 1.5 million;
€0,25 million after each 35 games he plays
€1 million, the first time the Liverpool win the English Premier League or the UEFA Champions League, before June 30, 2014.

Finally 5% of any sell on fee.}

Aqualani was bought as he was at the time a decent player (was also rated by Arsenal) and Roma would let him go for payment in instalments. As we had little money at the time to sign players, the instalment apporach was considered the best solution.

How it backfired.

Long live the King

I think we were to hasty sacking Rafa. He made a balls of the Barry transfer. But the owners also pulled the plug on a couple of deals. Stevan Jovetic and Matt Upson (to replace Hyypia)

Rafa had to buy Aquilani because the owners wouldn't buy Barry. If you guys actually read epic swindle it will enlighten you. It wasn't Rafa's fault.

BthekingB

I have read the book and what you have said is not true. not even close. We did pay that for Aquilani. and we paid over the odds for about 50 of the 77 players he signed

PS - Spurs, Sunderland and Villa all spent more than Rafa while at Liverpool. But don't let facts get in the way of a good slur. I thought by now even the dumbest of our fanbase could see the error of what they did to Benitez.

^^ Matt Upson to replace hyypia...Get him back NOW!! Can't believe how many people are calling for Rafa back. He seems to have gained a lot of support from Liverpool fans since he left, probably more than he had when he left. I'd take him back IF Kenny goes but he's talked about like he's a god or something these days.

But to be fair the Roma website at the time announced the deal as only £5m up front with the rest in various add-ons.

Kieran

^^^^^^^^
just because you say it loud doesn,t make it true.

I don't see why we fans should hate him it is just shoking when you see people looking for kenny to be sacked and benitez to be appointed as his replacement when kennys team plays much better football

Lets face we would not have had such a dreadful season if RAFA had been in charge. Do you really think he would have done worse or would Martinez be any better? Just ask him back, we are going nowhere fast! He has a track record and knows the club and i bet he has learnt aswell especially re Alonso debacle etc. he is clever man and we have all been duped by the London / Manc press! We got 2nd place. he went to the board to buy david silva and david villa. they said no!

Rafa wont be back..we have business men running our club now,why wud we employ a man we paid 6mill to get rid of..bad business...

6 mil for 6 years service when his contract was worth 12 mil if he would have sat tight. He then gave over a million quid away to charity. Say what you want about him, he didn't have to do that and I'm not aware of too many other managers in his position who have or would do the same. Now contrast that with Hodgson's 7.3 mil pay off for 6 months work, who is the crook here?

Rafa loves the club, I bet he does with 6mill in his back burner, I do like rafa but come on let's move on, his man management is good but his style of play is not the Liverpool way, his first season here he didn't finish in the top 4, but cos we went on to win champions league people forgot that, so let's get behind kenny and the players and do what we do best!!! Support the club we love

Jay Spearing to Blackburn with Steven N'Zonzi coming the other way + a couple of million.

Surely it would be the other way round??

Theres a reason nzonzi was in a team that got relegated.

Take Spearing for free please

Some deluded comments on here Nzonzi is infinitely better than Spearing and he will hardly get a game at Blackburn anyway he is League 1 class

Okay Spearing is hardly Liverpool class, but Nzonzi is light years away from being a Liverpool player. To be honest they are probably on par, which says something about our current Liverpool team.

N zonzi u must b havin a laugh

There are lots of rumours about Luuk De Jong joining liverpool, so I have decided to compile a video of some of his goals and skills, which is on the 'liverpool videos' page. I hope you enjoy!

YoungRed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK85ncjCIJA

Thanks for taking the time to put this video together, de jong looks like a good player hope we manage to get him.

Dahm good video...did he score most of those goals recently? because previous youtube videos of him don't show most of those goals....if that's the case then I can see a rich club going in for him, which is obviously bad news for us....and what song did you use for that video?

Fluxxxx!

Flux Pavillion - I can't stop was the music. I just compiled all the goals I could find.

YoungRed

Nice vid. He does look like a decent striker but would he cut ot im th epl?

I remember a while back we were talking about andy carrols fitness and how he was going on an intensive training regime to get him back to his best.
Can the eds or anyone else remember how long this was meant to last, just wondering if his recent form has anything to do with this.
I have to say he is looking very dangerous and even getting a few goals again.
A full pre season and some coaching to sort out his positioning and effort at times and we will start the season with a brilliant striker.

MIKEY

14 May 2012 15:54:25
i heard comoli talkin on talk sport and he said carrol had come on leaps and bouds since koing liverpool mainly because of the higher lever of training.

Kenny is being moved upstairs to become the director of football.....Pep Guardiola is his replacement as the new manager...No dicisions on new players...thats why the Elm deal has been put on hold....FSG want a young manager who will attract top players and play attractive attacking football....The long term veiw is to replicate the promotion of players through the youth set-up system that was used by Barcelona...All will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Pep his replacement? I may apply for 1st team coach, now where did I put that coaching manual?

Hmm as much as I would love that pep left barca to get a years break and where did you get this stuff from?

I do think Pep will be back in football pretty soon, the break will do his head in and he will miss the day-to-day contact with players and the sheer intensity of matches.

However, I very much doubt that he will be managing us, syaing that, presumably Citeh job is no longer up for grabs...

Utter junk... Also if Kenny was to leave he should go altogether

Birds eye potato ....?

I would be a made up man if this were true...key word being IF

Yeah and pigs might fly. If Abramovich can't lure Pep to Chelsea with the huge financial backing they have, then Liverpool have no chance.

Are the Pep lovers absolutely SURE he'd be a success away from Barca. The fact that his assistant is taking over suggests that the club just needs a hand on the tiller. It's a machine, a machine with the best players and funds to get whoever you want every summer. And do you know what Cruyff's Barca was modelled on ? LFC's famous boot-room. Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan and even Kenny were successful because the club was well-run and fine-tuned from top to bottom. Neither Paisley nor Fagan would have had the same success elsewhere and neither, I suspect, will Pep.

If only. and then we woke up....

If we get Beguiristain as DOF, then it is clear we are trying to recreate the Barca machine. In that case, Guardiola is the natural choice as manager. Of course, if he wants more money, he will go to Chelsea or Inter.

Where do you find all this nonsense? Pep Guardiola will NEVER join LFC! be 4 real!

Please don't talk rubbish

14 May 2012 13:48:03
Seriously , has Reina been trying to engineer a move with his recent performances ?

If Reina truely wanted to move and the right offer came in i'm sure the club would let him (Torres for example) but he has been loyal to us for too long to do something like that. The whole club has been at fault not just him.

With rumours of skrtel wanting out I think if a player wants to go, go! No player is irreplaceable and with the money he'd fetch I'm sure Nedem Onouha of QPR would be a suitable replacement and we'd gain a few quid financially with Skrtel being sold for more than Onouha would cost and lower wages too. Adam Johnson, and a proven striker and we'd be top 4 again. We cannot have as much bad luck as far as opportunities created to conversion rate. If half the shots that hit the woodwork had gone in we'd be up there.

Rubbish... If ALL of our shots had gone in that hit the woodwork we'd have been in fifth. That said, there's no reason to panic. We've played some brilliant (and some abysmal) games.. Arsenal being a good example of where we dominated but didn't win.

Nedem is that you? Nedem Onouha are you looking to get yourself a move to Anfield.

Seriously how are LFC going to reach the top 4 if they constantly sell the class acts that we have and even consider replacing them with dross? It's sad that numpties like this are spouting such pure bulls**t in the name of LFC.

Id like to know how long it took the guy who replied first for him to work out where we would be if all the shots went in and how long it took him lol

"We want to deny that information is incorrect Lazar Markovic sold. Partizan refused all offers that have arrived since last winter for him and he will stay at the club, at least another year," conveyed the attitude of the club spokesman Nenad Danilović.Serbian newspapers this morning.Cheers Serbian Red

think we need to go all out and get Moussa Sissoko and Javi Martinez while we still have some pull. Spearing and Adam out, Shelvy on loan. Midfield of Gerrard, Henderson, Sissoko, Martinez and Lucas.

Defence is obviously not a priority this summer, and in terms of strikers, good goalscorers can be found anywhere - Hernandez, Jelavic, Cisse..

i think the majority of our resources do need to go into strengthening the midfield.

Thanks.

Cisse would be good and we could get him as long as you are talking about dribril, no chance of dembe

Cisse? LMAO.. Been there and bought the t-shirt!

You want all those 5 in the midfield? dont fancy playing with any width then?

FowlerisGod

Seriously it got to be adam johnston

Shelvey on loan?lol no try putting henderson on loan.shelvey plays better

Shelvey and Coates is only worldclass prospect in my eyes, and should beplayed regularely next season... Ofc sterling is also great, but still very young and suso ive kinda lost abit in my faith, beeing very unstable this season...

How can you possibly justify this comment? strengthen the midfield? these signings would leave the side unbalanced with three holding midfielders and two cm's, when chances arent being converted it is a problem with the forwards not the midfield, quite the opposite anyway

From the liverpool site on Skrtel winning Standard Chartered player of the year. Key bit is at the end.

The Slovakian clinched the award after fans voted for their star man of the campaign on this website.

Skrtel tallied an incredible 44 per cent of the 66,937 votes cast.

Luis Suarez was the runner-up with 33 per cent, while Daniel Agger clinched third after collecting four per cent.

2011-12 was Skrtel's most consistent season in a Liverpool jersey, with the 27-year-old cementing his place amongst the finest central defenders in Europe.

Our No.37 made a total of 45 appearances and helped himself to four goals, including a crucial equaliser in the Carling Cup final triumph over Cardiff City at Wembley in February.

Upon being presented with the award at Melwood, Skrtel told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's a great feeling. It's my first big award at Liverpool and I'm very happy about it.

"I think it was my best season since I came to Liverpool and I'm happy with my performances. I hope I will carry on in this way.

"I scored more goals than in past seasons, and I also think the way I played was better than in past years.

"Thank you very much to everybody who voted for me. I will try to do my best next season as well and we'll see how I go on."

Liverpoolfc looking at
1) the korean lad who was injured this season ( quality player )
2) Diame as a backup & to play alongside lucas in midfield.
3)Hoilett from blackburn
4)Maxi,kuyt,Jones,Cole Aquilani,Aurelio will be sold released.10-15 mill saved per season.
5)Spend the majority of the cash on a rw & a striker.

Kenny will talk to the owners this week.
That is all.

We need perspective and lots of it.

We knew we needed to be challenging for fourth at the beginning of the season but who really expected us to?

This isn't a downfall that has suddenly happened, this begun in Benetiz's final year and a 7th place finish, but he seems to be getting off scot free and people demanding him back. He signed some fantastic players but the team people are raving about didn't win anything (that with Torres in it) and capitulated after the 2nd place finish.

He overpaid for Johnson and Aquilani and caused Alonso to look elsewhere.

We had horrendous owners and that mess took such a toll on the club, we really werre in dire straits, let's not forget that.

It was those owners who took on Hodgson who only added mediocrity to the ranks. Kenny turned that team around. If anyone expected a massive turnaround after two years in the duldrums then you were being deluded, you quote £115 million spent but you ahve to remember the amount we sold as Benetiz always gets the benefit of the net spend argument, Kenny should too. The other big task was getting rid of the deadwood, most of which are just on loan, they were sucking money out of the club with their wages.
The new players were never expect to all gel at the same time, we have seen an improvement in Henderson and Caroll the last couple of months, of course I expected more of Adam and Downing, but I don't think any other team had to make as many changes as us.

Some people got fed up we missed out on players, Marveux who has done what exactly, even Chu Young at Arsenal people were bemoaning not signing, as they had previously with Chamack, both have been terrible.

What do you really think will happen if we get a new manager now? He will not sign unless he has an amount of cash to spend, that's if you want the big name manager you expect. He will then want his own players and sell some on, this is back to square one, and will you expect immediate results again? How long will he get? Then when the inevitable happens and you will be screaming for his head, who will be next in line? And then we start over again every Summer getting rid of half the team and a new manager doing it again.

Football is constantly changing and its a struggle to keep up, we need to look at longer term players and a long term manager. We need the champions league to attract players, we have to be realistic that they may not come right now so we have to battle to get there, we won't get there if we constantly change our team and manager once a year, we have to build on what has been started. Results whilst not going our way, the play has been far improved, we can see where problems lie. People say we are no better off than a year ago but we have much better football to watch, we have the League cup and we reached the FA Cup final and a bit unlucky there at the end. We are now in Europe next year and we should have some confidence in some of the better performances we've had, we have been desperatley unlucky after dominating games not to have won them, and genuinly think only a few games have we actually played really badly.

You may accuse me of wearing rose tinted specs, but my argument has nothing to do with Kenny as far as I'm concerned, it's about keeping some stability and continuity at the club, something we haven't had for a few years, without that as a solid base nothing will improve. You can't keep tearing up the plans and starting over again every season, that would never work, teams with the most long term success have had the most long term stability, this is true of any business aswell.

We need to support our team, look at Man City fans some walking out at 2-1, even had they lost they should have supported their team and applauded them for the season, but they missed their celebrations due to their non-support. They probably went out to buy a Utd shirt thinking they were going to win instead.

Joehoover

Bloody hell an intelligent and reasonable fan, capable of seeing the big picture, on these pages! Are you lost?!

Kieran

Finally a post by someone who isn't just spouting s**te.

Agree with stability and the need to build. We've played some good football.

One thing though. Rafa/Alonso he was on a sell to buy policy. I think he though... Get £30m in for Xabi, buy Barry for £12m... I've got £18m to spend

At last some sense! I completely agree,
I can only assume the people who may not agree have not been to a home game this season, its been like ground hog day discussing how we didnt win or the times we hit the bar! lets hope we learn valuable lessons from this year and move forward and put the final pieces in place, cos if we do we can be up there, I would like to see us have the same desire to beat the wigans and the stokes that we have against the utds and the chelseas its so annoying!!

It's good to see that are still some Liverpool fans out there with a bit of common sense. Excellent post Joehoover.

Well said, i love liverpool.

Thank goodness, a balanced view. It has taken Man City 3yrs to get where they are and spent a fortune doing it - we need stability - give Kenny another season and I'm positive we'll see a big improvement - I would much rather watch Lfc play now than pre

Finally someone talkin sense

Phil thompsons nose

Great post mate

You talk about stability and continuity yet your post makes it clear you were amongst those who spearheaded the charge to oust Rafa. Support Liverpool your way and I'll support the club my way without benefit of your lectures mate. We'd be playing in Munich on Saturday night if your kind hadn't messed it up and got our next Shanks sacked.

This reply: " You talk about stability and continuity yet your post makes it clear you were amongst those who spearheaded the charge to oust Rafa. Support Liverpool your way and I'll support the club my way without benefit of your lectures mate. We'd be playing in Munich on Saturday night if your kind hadn't messed it up and got our next Shanks sacked." Here, Here, I'm with you mate on this one.

I have been saying the same things for the last 3 months. Anyone who was expecting an easy top 4 finish was delusional. Man City have spent over a billion just to make it there. so we are a good couple of seasons away from being there

I've said it for the last two years now the "Benitez cult" have done more damage to this club than H&G combined.

"You talk about stability and continuity yet your post makes it clear you were amongst those who spearheaded the charge to oust Rafa." True.

When under Rafa, we were playing good football (i still possess the 08/09 dvd) we can catch some glimpse of that spark sometimes this season but nowhere near the lethal effect. We used to score the first 5 minutes every games lol

Anyways, dont get on Rafa if you cant be fair okay? Talking about how he wanted to get rid of Alonso? ofc, offered 30M for our player and we only had 2 english players in the first XI (Gerrard Carragher) with Platini looking to destroy the EPL in 2013. When we finished 2nd we were looking to bring the likes of david villa and silva, milner and barry. Only thing was at the end of the season, no transfer fund were made available by the owners. What we bought was from the sale of Alonso. So come on, whatd you expect?

Could'nt agree more mate,these new
age SKY FANS need to take a reality
check,eventually when LFC win epl
last summer's signings will be
nowhere near the team,they were only
the start not the end.......get real people

Couldnt have said it any better mate

Kenny on the newspaper articles suggesting he'll be replaced:

"I expect the owners to have more dignity and integrity than to believe a newspaper story. We won't run away from the points tally or hide, or say the points tally is satisfactory to anyone who works for or supports Liverpool Football Club. We will face up to reality. The performances have been excellent in a lot of cases but not the points tally so we will try our best to correct that."

Well said King Kenny. Going nowhere.

"Expect"

8th place is acceptable for you so?
we have had the worst season in living memory and you think thats grand, ohsorry i forgot, Kenny is a legend and deserves to stay in his job for what he did 20 years ago.....what about the damage thats being done now?

Performances have been exceelent in a lot of cases?? Don't think so you don't drop that many points at home and finish 8th due to bad luck. The final table does not lie. If we are to move forward we need to be honest about the poor form and put better players in the squad, and also be better tactically.

Diggler

Did you watch the man city game were like liverpool they had loads of shots and chances , but not one of the city players moaned about a misplaced pass , like andy carrol does all the time , and they spent wisely instead of 35 mil on andy carrol the got aguero for the same money but they bought class were we bought crass , thats why kenny should go and go now , no more bad luck stories {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were in no position to sign Aguero at all last year.}

KK in Liverpool legends game:)

When? I can't find any details on any Liverpool Legends game

Dalglish is out of his depth! Fair enough he was a good manager in the 80's and 90's but he's spent too much time out of the game (as seen with his pathetic tactics and signings). Get a fresh face into the club or bring back Benitez. He was never given the proper financial backing at the club so lets see what he can do now!

Never had financial backing, must be missing something, I take it Torres, keane, Reinia, Riera, mascherano, Arbeloa, awful aqua, morientes, skrtel, alonso, Lucas, glen Johnson, pennant, crouch, voronin, babel, Gonzalez, dossena, agger and countless other players that came in after rafa was in charge, they all must of come through the ranks, if he had of got anymore money this club would be in the same mess as portsmouth, he loves the club don't make me laugh, he was happy to walk away with 6 million pound of the clubs money, he came close to destroying this club but some people can't see it, poor Roy hodgson was made a scapegoat for what Benitez done and now kenny is been treated the same as Roy, forget Benitez, martinez, or whoever else cos we have kenny in charge so let's give him and the players our full support after all we are suppose to be the great lfc ynwa

14 May 2012 12:12:45
why has no1 mentioned marc albrighton his young english with the time to improve and dare i say it better then downing who would also come cheap and could be sold on for a profit aswell

I think we have learned our lesson in buying over rated English wingers. No thanks

Almost every winger in the premiership is better than downing..

Downing isn't THAT bad, if his crosses he'd put in were converted no one would have an issue. You need to start getting behind your team, he was player of the season for Villa which must count for something

If we'd converted ALL of the crosses that Downing has put in this year we would have about 6 more goals. BFD! He has gone from being one of the highest providers in the EPL to being one of the worst, with the most number of shots for zero goals. Oh and it's also everybody else's fault.

Well he fits the transfer policy
I'd welcome him

14 May 2012 12:07:31
Forget all this bull chat lets face it we aint got much money to spend so i think sell agger good player but back problems so we can get good money for him.

Buy a good defender with 1/4 of the money.

Sell kuyt and Adams and buy a good creative midfielder by offering first team football.

We also need a winger and a striker maybe the owners may give a bit of money when a good player is available to buy.

But the biggest concern is should we keep kenny or change manager because he lacks 2012-ect..... Tactical plays. Passion he does put into players but you need a route to the team your playing expose there weakness.

Sell Agger, you are having a laugh, and why do people get Charlie's name wrong, it's Adam not Adams shows how much you really know

Ummmm.......so how many games did agger miss this year from back problems?!?!

What are talking about you wouldn't get that much for agger because of his injury problems poss 10m if your lucky then use a quarter of that to replace him with my Maths that's 2.5m who are u gonna get for that zat knight Christophe Berra do me a favour

Been here a year and yet people still think it's Charlie Adams. Surely by now people know?

Wen was the last agger was injuried thu his back we dont need muppets like you.
mrbrown

Muppet like me lol get real mate we want players we have to sell agger will get good money 16-20m 1/4 would be around 5m and theres some good defenders you can buy we also have back up players like coates, adam adams who gives a dam hes crap (fact) great player in a average team came to liverpool daint perform. skrtal wants CL football and to be honest reina aint been playing fantastic. so sell agger 16-20m skrtal 14-17m reina 18-20m adam 6m = 63m buy keeper 12m Paul Robinson, CB scott dann 10m, = 41m to buy a forward and a creative midfield and a winger. plus sell kuyt 8m = more money

Can you please leave school early and take over from Kenny. You just solved everything so well.

Cork Red Boi

Has agger upset you....? seem realyl keen for him to leave..agger/skrtl where solid this year, bar his cracked rib...not so sure he had much time off sick.....oh 12 million quid for Paul Robinson....WOW. If we sold agger and reina left and we bought scott dann and paul robinson I would cry,

How can say about Kennys tactics, alright there were games we were rubbish and we couldnt score which is important, but we really murdered some teams this year even big teams - where as last year we where terrible and boring.

U are and idiot!! Sell Reina Agger and Skrtel and replace them with Paul Robinson and Scott Dann who got Blackburn relegated. Stick to ur computer games pal and leave real football to the big boys

Well im a life long fan so selling players to make the team better at scoring goals is what was the difference this season. Agger skrtal have been amazing i agree but we aint got no spending money u fools

And agger skrtal will get us money, i got nothing against them. Reina i rate him as 1 of the best keepers but last 12 games has he performed let goals in that normally he would save looks fed up and frustrated just look vs newcastle blew up

And finally skrtal wants CL footy as he stated so i nw how Ur thinking but its get real time we've fell behind by 3 years

And finally we only let in 40 goals and scored 47 hit the woodwork 31 times and missed countless chances.... lack of creativity in midfield and we needed a better goal finisher.we lost most of our matches by 1 goal 1-0 2-1 ect... lets say we scored 20/31 woodwork goals we would of had around 20-25 points more thats 3rd-4th. (finishing teams off) how many times did the defence and midfield pass across the field and back to reina this season very negative play.

Anyone that thinks selling reina n agger (two of the best most dedicated players that play with flair n passion) n replace with gimps..your not wired up ! is that not what we did with meirelles for horrendousen n Adam n he's scored more wih more assists than both of em put together ..now thats your progression plan

If there are defenders, who are as good as Agger, available for a quarter of the price then we would not be able to sell Danny as everyone would be off to the sales for the cheap replacements instead.

How do we join for next season?

rumours are building that skrtyl has handed in a transfer request

He just won player of the season and said he was looking forward to next season?! So I hope its not true but you never can tell nowadays....

Well he just accepted player of the season award, I expect him to be here next year given the content of his speech.

No they are not, you are just trying to cause problems

Rumours are building because some journo wrote an article and people like you keep repeating it....and it's spelt SKRTEL DAMN IT!!!!!

14 May 2012 11:24:06
Can anyone see Jamie C hanging up his boots and sitting alongside Kenny from next season? I have a sneaky feeling this might happen..........
The Goatherder
JFT96

Ooo this sounds interesting I think he may do another season before doing that but he will definitely remain in the team in someway, shape or form

He should take a player/coach role this season to help him along with it. He won't get much playing time but it would be nice for him to feel he plays a part with the defense that's out there every week

Dear lord I hope not. He'd be a terrible coach.

TSP

What makes you think he'd be a terrible coach? He gives everything to Liverpool and would only want the best as far as coaching goes.

14 May 2012 11:23:48
The people who insisted that Kenny Dalglish didn't travel back to Liverpool are lying.

He is currently playing in a legends match at anfield.

KKM..

No he isn't. He most definitely flew out of Heathrow yesterday and the legends played against Cheltenham Town on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May and are not currently playing!

Oh, and their next game will be this Friday evening!

14 May 2012 11:09:56
Kenny Dalglish departed from Heathrow in the early hours of the morning to fly to the United States. He is going to give a review of the season ( Steve Clarke is with him ) no idea what the outcome of it will be obviously. Just thought I would pass on the info.

This may be through. As I was told he will be meeting with the owners this week. I assumed they were flying here.

But I've just seen a picture of inside the Liverpool dressing for a legends match.

And Dalglish's jersey is clearly hanging on the wall. Alongside Keegan, McManaman, Fowler Etc

KKM...

You might want to check Heathrow depatures to the United States and reassess the 'early hours' part of your post. It would have had more credibility if the flight you mention actually existed.

Mmmnn

First flight out to the States was 830am
Early hours?

Must have been last night then. I know for a fact he went to the USA. Go on the official site and you can see a picture of it

Telegraph have confirmed my story. To even the detail that Steve Clarke is with him. I told you Anyone want to apologise?

Dalglish is staying

Aware its no secret that Kuyt is leaving, but just to confirm the class of the guy.

The Team flew down to the game on Saturday afternoon, and flew back on sunday night. Apparently all of them were rather subdued on the return flight (though Suarez & Maxi, were joking about a little)

Upon landing, Kuyt walked the aisle of the plane & shook hands with each and every member of staff / playing squad on there & wished them well for the future. He even made a beeline to the aircrew onboard at the rear of the plane to thank them too.

Sheer class & an excellent ambassador for the club.

Also, there was one less person on the return journey than booked on for the chartered outward trip. Unable to confirm who it was, or the reason though.

It was Bellamy

No doubt about it Kuyt is Top Class Individual, its sad that hes going but Liverpool and Kuyt now need to part company and I think he will always be welcome at anfield. Real profeesional allot of other footballers could learn allot from.

Rubbish mate kuyt just turned down a move

The missing person may have been Bellamy who has family in South Wales (Cardiff).
Scouse_Pride

Why would he do this? He will see everyone at training this week.

Players cannot move to clubs on the continent until July, or to Britain until June.

He turned down a move to Feyenoord because he'd have to take an 80% wage cut and still wants to play top flight.

14 May 2012 10:10:47
The owners will fly over for a meeting with Kenny this week.

Not sure what about...

KKM...

This blatantly isnt true. Kenny departed from Heathrow last night to fly to the USA. I know this as a matter of fact as I bumped into him and asked him where he was going. I know you wont believe me, but go on the official site forum and see. I have posted a picture of me with Kenny in the "serious discussion about our next manager" thread

Bound to be things to talk about at the end of any season.
CR

Really? Then why is he currently at anfield playing in a legends match?

KKM...

Just saw the photo... seems legit. I'm surprised that KK has to head over there mind

So just to confirm........... did kenny fly to the US last night as per this reply or in the early hours of the morning as per the later post?

HI TEXRED :))))))))))))))))

14 May 2012 10:06:10
A friend of mine lives in the North East and is friends with Adam Johnson of Man City. He has told me the Johnson will DEFINATELY be leaving the Etihad before the Euros. Apparently Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool are his options at the moment.

I would love johnson to come to liverpool but i dont see it happening if he leaves he will go to arsenal or someone who can promise CL football next season

14 May 2012 10:04:56
Just heard from mate who is cousin of Shay Given that liverpool are approaching him as replacement for Reina...Fact! {Ed019's Note - :/ }

Not a bad move in my opinion.Still has a few years at the top level. I think Villa have him to thank for their PL status this season.

we already have a replacement called Alexander Doni who is a quality keeper. We are lucky to have such quality as a backup. If Reina goes, which I doubt, then why not give the boy a run?

I just vomitted in my mouth a little bit.

The Wolfman

Just heard from mate who is cousin of Shay Given that liverpool are NOT approaching him as replacement for Reina...Fact!

Cheers

cousin of Shay Given

The chances are doni going back to brazil and reina loves playing for liverpool so def will not leave which means no given as he would not want to be a back up keeper to anyone

Given is a serious keeper but he is 36 probably 4 years max. Still one of the best around though and has always been consistent.

88

Why do we want Shay Given's cousin? Is he any better than Shay? Is he much younger than Shay? Oh this post just asks so many questions. Fact!!

14 May 2012 09:55:26
As some of the earlier rumours suggested, Kenny did not travel back with the squad. However, nothing sinister in it as many predicted. Instead he flew to Valencia to watch Levante vs Bilbao with the intention of pushing through some business. Expect to hear something soon.

14 May 2012 09:51:48
Is there anyone who can say that there is press confrence by ian iyre. Can anyone say that kenny is going to be sacked today. Hey reply plz rumour boys.
One more thing chances of happening this very low as macca says kenny's plane will not land outside mellwood as anfield for one more year.

Kenny will never be sacked by Liverpool FC. He has done so much for the club that they will move him upstairs if anything. There will never be a day when KK is sent away with his bags packed.

14 May 2012 08:33:47
Everyone should get behind KK for next season because that is the time he will be given.The transfers in the summer, We will look at bring a high profile player in. BUT we will also look at free transfers more so.

Javi Martinez
Clint Dempsey
Junior Hoilett

Get behind him for what.

Behind kenny then sure we will finish top 10again.

My heart would love to get behing KK but my head wont let me. KK chose the players we bought, he picks the team and gives the half time talks, all of which have been poor this season. When i look back to how benitez brought decent players like torres, mach, alonso to the club and made them into world class players and then i see how KK has brought decent players like downing, carrol, adam, henderson and turned them into cr~p players, it makes me think that maybe he isnt the top manager we all hoped/thought he would be. Will KK bring in some world beaters this transfer window, and all the players that have let him down this season turn into super stars next season? i dont know, do we want to take the risk of our transfer money being wasted and watching another horrible season next season? i dont know that either, ill go with what ever decision the owners make, im just glad i dont have to make it!
mellor

Load of s**t

I would have loved kenny to have better but the simple fact is the table does not lie.Man city are the best team in the country because they were better then everyone else.We finished in a position i think looking at the squad of players is how good they are. The problem with liverpool is obvious to many average players.Most of our team would find it hard to get in teams who are in the top 4.Too many mistakes with signings who have not only been expensive but at times looked like they could not handle the pressure for playing fo liverpool.
The owners demand top 4 and i have to agree we should be with the outlay on new players.People having a go at the owners need to think maybe they are running the club within their means for example not taking out huge loans against the club to buy world class players. I think if players leave that 20 million could fast become 40 then we could buy quality players. I do feel we need a change of manager not because i dislike kenny but i think its clear to move forward we are going to need a new manager if its this summer jan or end of next season.

Why, he is not good enough as a manager,he bought poor players and did not buy a back up for lucas in january window,and sent out aquilani and cole on loan,sold mereilles and instead relied on spearing,henderson,adam and henderson in midfield.Need i say more.

Im sorry to say mate, but if u list javi martinez as realistic target u have too be completely mental....

These would be great signings. Add Adam Johnson to it and it would be a very good transfer window.

I am back KK for next year surely, but as a player not as a Manager of LFC.

Not going to get into the Kenny thing again - anything on here will just be opinions.

But you have to remember that for every Alonso Rafa bought, there was also a Nuñez, a Josemi, or a Kromkamp. I know these didn't cost as much as the players Kenny has bought in, but people need to stop believing that Rafa only bought in world-beaters. People also need to remember that while Kenny made the players bought in the targets, it was Comolli that went away and negotiated the huge deals for them, which is why he got the boot.

Rafa did buy some poor players but i remember reading an interview by him a while back where he proved what a genius he actually is. His transfer funds where restricted from the beginning, which meant he had to buy not so good players for small prices and then sell them on at a profit after getting them to play at there maximum, he then spent the money on a better player which he then sold for profit after again getting the player to play at his maximum, in the end he had made the funds to by the quality players. if rafa had been given all the funds that KK has been given, i can only dream where we would be now

If Kenny keeps the job good luck to him but he will need to change tactics or get in a new right hand man or both, because things have not worked this season.
CR

Do you want to relegated?Do you want to get relegated? Am sure people will still says give him another year he will bring us back. It's called blindness. Legend as a player not alwas need to be great manager. We need someone young with new ideas to motivate players

Please stop with the clint dempsey rumours

If we can give KK a chance to come back,we can certainly give Rafa another go with the funds we have given to KK who obviously failed with the players he bought. If KK can walk out from the team 20 years ago I hope he can step down graciously. Comolli negotiated the huge fees for the players KK wanted. Surely if He is given the boot KK should be given the bigger axe.

I hope Aqulani wants to give Liverpool a shot. He is quality. But I don't keep my expectations high
DanielDenmark

I doubt he would want to play.. If he does, it definitely add more quality to the squad..

I doubt he would want to play.. If he does, it definitely add more quality to the squad..

Yeah i doubt it too. :/
DanielDenmark

Not this AGAIN

Aquilani would play, but his wife wants to stay in Italy with their baby. He's not gonna leave her over there to play here, so it'll never happen

If he's such quality, why does no one want to sign him? Over-rated with occasional glimpses of class.

Unprofessional douchebags like aqua is not worthy the liverpool shirt... I was extremely happy whenwe signed him, but to talk about your club the way he does... Well.... Give him away if noone wanna buy, just to free up money for wages....

Wow, you guys are so silly that you cannot realise he hated the UK and wanted to go back to Italy...what did we do? We loaned him back to two different Italian teams (where he should perform best) and offered him up cheaply if they wanted to take up the right to buy option...THEY DID NOT WANT HIM! Rafa got it wrong and AA was never the class he was alleged to be...to stretch a metaphor, just because a purse occasionally shimmers in the sun doesn't mean it's made of silk.

Aquilani is a bit like an Italian car, looks good on the road, but weill always let you down

Sorry Daniel but he is not class, just does occasional pretty things and most of the time is a "luxury player".More importantly he does not want to play for LFC.

Waste of good money italians dont usually cut it in premiership

Seriously, buy a Delorian, build a flux capaciter, get to 88 miles per hour and please rejoin us in 2012. He's gone.

I think he just might realize that there isn't a team in Italy that is willing to pay his wages and pay the price that Liverpool have offered him for, to Milan (which is very low btw)

and i don't think Liverpool will go below what they have offered Milan so he might just decide OK i will give them a shot if Liverpool tell him that they want him if Milan doesn't sign him and not say we MUST find a buyer for him.

This season made it CLEAR we need more midfielders and next season will be tougher seeing as we Potentially be playing in a 4th competition.

LB/LWB/LW/RW - Drenthe as a squad Utility player. he would probably end up taking Downing's place at LW.

CM - Aquilani (Henry Likes him) plus Doni is there now so he has a ex A.S.Roma buddy

AM - SUSO. if silva and mata can do it he can, not saying he has the same skill as them but he sure has the stuff. and we have Shelvey, Teixiera, Adorjan NOT leaving out Gerrard.

RW - Afellay/Elia/Krasic - we need one of these 3, but one of the Dutch boys would be my pick, they would also help de jong settle.

ST - Luuk De Jong, have to get him while we still can. one more season at Twente and he could be gone to a "CURRENTLY" bigger club.

CF - Jackson Martinez would be good replacement for kuyt. natural goal scorer/poacher could be our Colombian Hernandez.

3 Dutch
1 Colombian
1 Italian who Will come back for next season.

I wont go into detail about individual prices but over should be around £30m at most.

Team 2012/2013
Main System 433
Other uses/Tactical possibilities--4321--4411--4231--4312
------------Reina-------------||GK
Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique||RB/CB/CB/LB
------------Lucas------------||Central Midfielder
-Gerrard-------Aquilani*------||CM Right/ Creative Midfielder
-------Suarez--------Afellay*||SS-Free Roamer/ LW-LWF-AM
------------Carroll-----------||CF

Lucas - delicately taking/intercepting balls making in MUCH easier on Skrtel and Agger. pass an move KING, always passing forwards or side ways NEVER back. turning towards the opponents goal with the first touch. positive play makes team more confident and not anxious.

Gerrard - given the licence to attack and would always be in a position to cross the ball in for Carroll.

Aquilani* - being the creative Puppet Master putting in through balls the players like, Gerrard, Suarez and Afellay. as well as being able to play pass and move without loosing his cool and passing backwards.

Afellay* - being attack minded as Gerrard and Suarez are with the ball at feet. good crossing with both feet. pace and skill also playing in a pass and move high tempo style.

Suarez - Some more of this season in the team that i just suggested then he would be player of the season.

Carroll - we need a target man even if it is just to P!SS the other team off or unsettling their defense.

Doni, Coates, Kelly, Drenthe*, Henderson, De Jong*, Martinez*

Shelvey, Bellamy, Downing, Adam, Flanagan.

That would be 23 first team players 20+ and 4 reserves (Sterling WL/R, Suso AM/SS, Silva RW/AM, Teixeira AM)

..Just thoughts regardless of who the next manager is....And if this team cannot get into top 4 then I don't know.

Haych

Considering that Aquilani was unable to cut it with, not one, but two Italian teams in the very sedate Serie A, you would have to believe that he will not be back to L4. Especially as his attitude to training and self-maintenance has been publicly questioned at Juve and AC. Besides the EPL is too rough for him.

hi with the rumours surrounding skrtel leavin (which i hope are just rumours? who could you see liverpool buyin as a replacement/back up i know we have coates and carra but carra getting on abit and coates maybe needs another year before his fully ready for 1st team

Skrtel leaving rumours are nonsense..

Skrtel leaving rumours are nonsense..

Am i onlyone who thinks its weired coates dont played more this season? To me he looks like world class prospect.... And Anfield hero jamie carragher is no longer top notch, and is hard for me to say but he should clearly fall behind coates in the line... We need to develop a new team and look forward, and Jamie doesnt fit in those plans anymore....

Forget about Martinez. He is not coming to Liverpool.
Kenny will be retained in a senior position,but not in the hot house of management.
FSG has been negotiating with a number of managers and their agents who fit their required profile. At the moment the focus is not on players but the whole management structure.
Who they choose, or who accepts. Will not be known until it is announced. Everything else is just pure speculation. There are not even any hints. You will just have to wait. Whomever gets the job will be a winner, and someone who will attract players.

I wish!!

There is always hope..

Martinez did not look like a man is a hurry to leave Wigan on Match of the Day, he has been through a lot with Wigan.

Fair play to him, as I thought he was a doomed when Dave Whelan called him in for a meeting in the winter about team selection

Heard a rumour that it was actually reina who was behind the players wearing those tshirts in support of suarez, and that he (reina) has upset a few behind the scenes with other antics. Any one else hear similar?

If Pepe did come up with such actions, and taking account how average he has been, is he playing games so we look at selling him and then say he wanted to stay so ther is no backlash!'n

What like he challenged Carragher's role as daddy of the dressing room and questioned his footballing ability. That kind of thing ?

Were did u hear this? The voices in your head maybe?

I've clicked "believe" to this because it does fit in with his sense of humour.
Wasn't it Pepe who forced a Barcelona shirt onto Cesc Fabregas at a Spanish photo-shoot a few years ago?
ANFIELDPETE

ANFIELDPETE - you are indeed correct. Pepe was compare-ing (?) the world cup celebrations and put a barca shirt on Cesc. When introducing the squad, pepe said of Cesc (albeit in spanish, obviously,) "the future of Spain, the future of Barca". this was end of 2010, so almost a full season before Fabregas completed the move.

However, the only way Pepe will go to Barca is if Valdes leaves. at the same celebration, Pepe said of Valdez - "on the no.12 - although we know we are not great friends. a great man and a great goalkeeper". doesnt seem too heavy, but the competition for th3 eno.2 spot is well documented between the two, and with youngsters pushing for places (Asenjo, De Gea, et al), places will be even tougher for the Euros - although David De Gea and Sergio Asenjo will be top choices for the Olympics and will prob not feature in Euro squads.

I love pepe but is this just another spanish player trying to forge a way out of liverpool

But come on he is the goalie, he knows who he wants to play in front of him and we all know as well. carra doesn't like the spanish or south americans look what happend with carra and arbeloa and as a result carra and alonso, pepe even said that carra doesn't fish him when he fists everyone before a game (its pepe's thing) and that he just skips him now.

any chance of us going after rossi or nilmar from vilarreal after they have been relegated from the liga BBVA?

Cheers , Zincho

Rossi has ACL issues in his right knee, and Nilmar's goal-scoring record isn't exactly great. So the answer is no.

McAlien

As both don't have great goalscoring records, I can't see the interest in them. But it depends on what our targets for next year are. I'm guessing top four and a final/trophy again.

Is there any chance of getting El Shaarawy on loan? Look like a class player with real potential. YNWA.

Maybe, but not on loan. No loan deals for LFC, especially at this crucial time.

McAlien

Only in FIFA :P

Is there any chance of us getting Pep Guardiola? It still amazes me that after way below the top four and losing once again, you talk about what players would be good. 52 points are you proud of that? Dalglish and his team of players are! Stop making excuses and avoiding the issue. LFC are bad. {Ed002's Note - Guardiola is taking some time off.}

what about james morrison from WBA, any interest in him?

I think the unbelievable votes answer your question
