I see the express has said we've submitted a bid for allison, I take this is not true ed? Seeing ward not in the squad a lot are putting 2+2 together and probably getting 10.

Personally I’ve had a change of heart over who I think is coming to be #1.

I thought for a long time it would be Butland, but that hasn’t happened. He’s at the World Cup which could explain it.

However, now I think Courtois will join Real Madrid and Navas will come to Liverpool once Courtois returns.

Now it appears that Ward will at last be given his opportunity to stake a claim, with the Mirror’s David Maddock reporting he has hugely impressed the manager since returning for training.

Harry Wilson has been omitted from the Liverpool squad to face Bury today as he is closing in on a loan move, Jürgen Klopp has explained.

“Wardy and Loris, they’ve switched because today Loris will play longer than 45 minutes, and then Wardy will in the next game and so that’s the only reason for that, ” the boss told Liverpoolfc. com.

It would make sense to give Ward game time in the preseason, especially with VVD back. I have not seen much of Ward but I heard he had a decent spell with Huddersfield and improved a lot. I hear he is a decent shop stopper but not sure about his command of area or distribution skills. I became comfortable with Karius from his performances Jan - March, but I would say that was a purple patch rather than his standard, its no coincidence he considerable improved with the arrival of VVD telling him what to do and where to be. Klopp needs careful consideration in this area, glad Bogdan's got himself a loan move to get a chance of some football and kick start the later part of his years. I doubt Migs will stay and play second or third fiddle so he will look for a move. So it makes sense to put Ward in the sticks to put the pressure on Karius to find his form back similar to playing Milner at left back for a whole season and telling Moreno to step up.

Hope that's the case. Ward could be a gem. I find him to be extremely strong mentally, never seen him lack confidence in the few chances he's been given at LFC and in his loan spells. I'd take a chance on him, at least in preseason to see what he's made of!
