After a tackle in the first half on Hulk I noticed that he crossed his legs and pulled up his left sock with his right hand by sliding 2 fingers down behind the sock and his thumb on the outside of the sock.
I recognise this as a secret signal that he is a member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of the Buffaloes. Nothing particularly surprising in that you may think but what was important was that when the camera cut to BR he was staring in a knowing way at Hulk only then to make the easily identifiable hand gesture of the Mother Lodge towards Hulk.
A look passed between the 2 men and I'm now convinced they are both kangaroos in the order of Buffs and its now a foregone conclusion that Hulk will be a Liverpool player come the summer

Chris in Tamworth

Even if this ridiculous story was true it would be a travesty if this manager was still on charge if Liverpool and was given more money to waste Brendon Rodgers out completely useless. Joke of a manager put him in the eoy Hodgson, league destroying lfc 1 game at a time

I just lost 1 minute of my life that I can never get back reading your post
- SLIM

Do I really need to point out that my post was a joke?
How embarrassing

Chris in Tamworth

I want whatever this guy is on.

I'd rather read what Chris said compared to the drivel being spouted out by the 1st reply.

Tristan

In view of these important points, I have intructed my brother Mycroft Holmes to launch an immediate investigation, is Prof Moriaty behind this conspiricy.

Much more entertaining than most stuff on this site not to mention frankly more
realistic

Jim

You're not funny. stick to your day job. if you have one.

One of the funniest things I have read in a long long time. It took the pain away a little from the defeat.
I just hope we can have one of those nights again at Anfield. I am not sure we can do it. If they score its all over

Brilliant post
i didn't think anything would make me smile after that result
Well done.

Should have a regular spot on here

I think that was funny. Keep it up Chris :D
DanielDenmark

Chris is too witty for most people here.

Your logic is impecible!

Haha for a second there Chris I was think what the f""k haha ya got me

IrishChris85

Bonus! :)

Chris I too noticed these telling signs - however believe your conclusions to be slightly erroneous.

They will instead be performing together in Tamworth at this years Country Music Festival.

For those of you who doubt we shall see. when the dealings done.

The two finger sign was to BR saying I will never sign for a crap manager like you

This is brilliant. Don't listen to the boring mugs. Made me laugh loads

Lol, outstanding humour Chris! Needed a good laugh ;)

Awesome Chris, better than most posts and at least it brought a smile to my face.

cheers,

RedHeps

15 Feb 2013 09:08:40
Yeah. Didn't we also see YNWA tattooed on his forehead aswell? ;-)

Brilliant, very funny people need to lighten up here as if we don't laugh at this stage we will all be in tears. lol

Funny post Chris!

Some people need to get a sense of humour and lighten up a bit.

I find it unbelievable that some people didn't realise this was a joke lol.

Richard Hall

Fantastic news. I thought he used three fingers which of course means he was sending Captain America but I looked back at the replay and you are entirely correct. If we are lucky he may persuade Iron Man as cover at the back.

JAG

Best post i've read in ages. love it, keep up the good work!

Hey Chris, in the organizational hierarchy of the Royal Antediluvian Order of the Buffaloes, are Kangaroos considered to be masters or apprentices? Just wondering if these two can make the deal happen or if they will have to get it rubber-stamped by the Grand Buffalo.

Tiresome John

I still don't get the joke {Ed002's Note - But you got the anagram OK?}

I got it, it just wasn't funny!

So hang on, even when we are simply having banter and a laugh someone else takes the time go off their head in a completely unrelated reply just to complain about rodgers? Imbecil

Anonymous woolback

Are you the same chris in tamworth that upset ronnie Irani on a web site the other day. He said that chris in tamworth wouldn't recognise roonies efforts regardless - had to be you surely?
REDditch

16 Feb 2013 09:26:29
this would have been funniest post of the year, but the first response stole it!

Nice one chris, but all this talk of buffaloes has given me a craving for some horse burgers,
Oh and I can confirm redditch post as true, don't know if its the same bloke though.
Red jay

Chris never mind the haters that say this is not funny. there are people with an open sense of humour. the normal people, who like an person abroad for example. Then there are the people who live to work, who live to hang with boring people, in boring jobs, in boring lives with boring wives.
I am Irish and the greatest thing about the English sense of humour is the dry sarcasm. I love them for it. Keep up the posts

Brilliant!

Been in the order for years myself and swear by it!

I'd rather read this joke than watch the jokers playing for Liverpool at the moment, there the real jokes.

Quality chris anymore???

Brilliant stuff.

Hey eds a question on Skrtel, if you think Skrtel will leave in the summer, why did he sign a new and improved Contract at the start of the season? {Ed002's Note - Very simply, if he sign a new deal it would have given him more money.}

14 Feb 2013 13:52:04
Not to keep on but if skrtel and carra going. Shouldn't they keep their attention on Coates and get him on the pitch more and convince him to stay. Like I said before he's a huge bloke and if he goes aswell I can see BR and FSG kicking themselves in 2 years time. I'm sorry if people think i'm talking bo****ks but he going to be wasted oppotunity because I think if we're a growing team HE should be bigpart of it. {Ed002's Note - I understand that Coates wants out - the club are seemingly looking at centre backs (I have mentioned two) and Kelly will be back at some point. I think you are worrying a little too much. Any chance of Skrtel playing the first half for Liverpool tonight and the second half for Zenit? The window is still open and a deal could be done today.}

Then this is poor management by the people who sort out the deals and stuff. Before ANY player ever signs a contract extension with the club be it Stevie G or Luis Suarez, the club must literally interrogate the player and ask him whether he is going to honour his contract for which he is applying or does he feel that he wants to move away. Basing on that answer must the club decide whether to extend or not his contract. Its ludicrous that Players will demand more and then after a single season of the extension, leave us. Yes Skrtel might fetch us some good money but the club will have already lost some money from his increased wages of his contract extension which he signed. {Ed002's Note - If everyone honoured their contracts there would be no transfers - there would be no Suarez, Sturridge etc. at Liverpool.}

Ed 002 can I please ask you an honest question as I am pretty new to this site,
how do you know we are intrested in de vrij and gardos as I have never ever heard them even mentioned nor from media or fantasy managers here, I really really appriciate your efforts and I can't tell you how much your insight means, thanks

Pharaoh {Ed002's Note - It is irrelevant how I know.}

Signed a contract because Liverpool thought Agger was on his way to Barcelona or Man City. Barcelona being his preferred move but would Norway the wages or fee needed, and no chance he would have been forgiven if he moved to city fact.

Because at the start of the season, his previous contract only had 2 years left, he'd just been our player of the season, and clubs were interested in him. Obviously there were no signs at that point that his season would turn out the way it has, but even if he's leaving now, the club will get more money for him because he's got several years on his deal instead of just one.

Hi eds, this for ed002 mainly

I have seen the recent Ancellotti posts and that's rather interesting, I would like to ask (not that I'm particularly unhappy with Rodgers) but are you aware of other approaches to other managers and who at the club would be sanctioning such approaches/enquiries, would be Ian Ayre, Werner or Henry? And in your professional opinion, the fact that a 3rd party approach has seemingly happened, can you see any writing on the wall?

Thanks again

Ray {Ed002's Note - Firstly, I don't see any "writing on the wall" for Brendan Rodgers right now but clearly the board was sold on Rodgers who signed up with a plan to get the club back in to the Champions League. It is critical not just for the income from the competition itself, but it provides many more commercial opportunities that can be exploited, it raises the sponsorship from Standard Chartered to teh full level and it certainly helps some not inconsiderable amount in attracting players in to the club. To support Rodgers, the business has funded £60M of gross spending on transfers this season, it is not an unreasonable expectation for them to want to see a return on this. That is the deal he signed up for. At the very least there will be an end of season review and Rodgers will of course (if necessary) need to explain why he has not achieved this target. What probably won't be palatable is Rodgers saying that the club needs to fund major changes again this summer. I would think there is a very strong chance that sales will need to fund the majority of purchases this summer, even though in my view we are likely to see record spending world-wide.}

Ed002 but do you see a decent chance that he will go in the summer? clearly they would not have enquired about ancelotti if they were not happy {Ed002's Note - I don't think there is a plan to sack Brendan Rodgers.}

Ed002, do you think FSG will have some sort of 'minimum acceptable achievement' in mind, in terms of final league position this season?

I got the impression from public statements that they regarded this a season of transition, and would be satisfied with any improvement at all over last season, however marginal.

So I imagined they'd perhaps allow BR to continue in his post, even if we ended up around 7th or 8th place.

But is it possible those statements were made simply to take public pressure off him, and that in reality they want 4/5/6th place as a minimum, or he is out? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what statements you are referring to and I certainly have no recollection of FSG accepting this season as a period of transition. The clear target was always Champions League football.}

You say he's spent nearly £60m, but a third of that was halfway through the season on a position he was clearly told he would be reinforced in at the start. Plus, a large amount of that £60m (over half) is offset by the huge reduction to the wage bill - well over £35m a year. The net loss on transfer activity this year has actually been closer to £30m than £60m {Ed002's Note - The £60M is a gross figure as I said. You can bleat on all you want about Dempsey but it is simply a transfer that didn't happen - clearly there are Liverpool supporters who will never accept that. Equate the wages to the wages and not the transfer fees. If you want to get in to that then take account of other spending (the money paid to Joe Cole when he left, etc..) rather than cherry pick. It is the reason for avoiding discussion of money as it seems to cause much confusion.}

14 Feb 2013 13:36:28
Much respect the Incredible Ed002.

Thanks for your insight ed002, I was reading with baited breath to see which ed002 would respond, ha.

Thanks again

Ray {Ed002's Note - It is always the good looking one with a nice ass.}

Ed002 sorry maybe I am misunderstanding this but why would you enquire about ancelotti if you were not considering sacking your manager? surely they are considering there options before deciding whether to sack him at the end of the season {Ed002's Note - The enquiry about Ancelotti was a few months back. Since then there has been an improvement in results.}

Same guy who left the post balancing the books a little - I'm not bleating on about any transfers that didn't happen, I'm just pointing out that the board have already accepted a significant proportion of responsibility for a number of the on field problems that we've faced this year, and the net outlay by BR equates to significantly less than the gross figure which is important considering the gross figure with no context is a pretty meaningless sum - our gross outlay could have been £500m but if we had sold our entire squad and completely remade it, that number means nothing. Just adding some perspective to the rather grim current picture of BR's end of year review that you painted, if you want to get sarcy and play the 'you just don't understand' card then be my guest but it doesn't change the fact that the likely initial targets will probably have evolved as the season progressed and the changes BR made have not been as significant as first glance would suggest.

{Ed002's Note - The net outlay on transfers by Liverool this season alone is in excess of £50M.}

Noname, just listen to Ed002 will you, he usually speaks sense! :)

Are you even considering:

1) money Pool had to pay to Joe Cole just to get rid of him
2) money paid to Real/Sahin/Dortmund to get rid of him
3) increases in wages of current players e. g. Suarez, Stirling, Kelly and others
4) wages of new players e. g. Sturridge, Sahin for 6 months, Allen, Borini
5) agents fees and other costs on the new transfers

In order to evaluates the figures accurately you need to take account of all these + many other expenses. Or you could just listen to Ed002 wo says the net figure is over £50m already for this season. I know who I believe!

Gav

I'm a staunch fsg supporter as I fully back their talk of long-term and patience etc etc espescially as for me, the oil-rich method of getting our club back to tje top is not something I'm keen on. do we want the dramas of city and chelsea?

sacking BR would represent to me, a complete 180 in terms of their dialogue leading up to his signing. and I cannot see it hapenning unless we have a monumental drop in form that would see us finish in the bottom quarter of the table. FSg will know as well as anyone that they can't have invested this money in youth with such immediate turn around in form and results. Therefore I expect that 2014 will have highe expectations than 2013

p. s. I thought ed002 is a woman!?

This season was always going to be written off. Next season BR as to deliver in some way.

Lee73 {Ed002's Note - No one would be writing this season off.}

14 Feb 2013 19:36:18
if suarez goes in the summer relegation is a real possibility with this manager and these players, our midfield is non exsistant, how did it get so bad, heartbreaking to watch them tonight

14 Feb 2013 19:45:35
FSG want CL football its bread and butter for money into the club, we need that money too to attract decent players, and after tonights game we are a very very long way off that, the last week has nailed the coffin on our season, its a hard up hill climb and I had faith in Rodgers but bad buys and performances, my faith in him is starting to slip, if we finish below 10th I think he should go, we will start to lose our big players like saurez come summer if this keeps up

No one needs to this season is a write off

I think we all want the same thing that's for sure back in the CL I like Rodgers he seems real but I think he might be out of his depth I feel sorry for him he jumped to soon to the big club I think to manage a big club you have to win a few things AVB has a right to it in my view I think Allan was an other charlie adam stood out around a mid table team and broni come on WTF I just wonder to myself how bad a player was I that I didn't make it lol you don't buy them players to move up the table our season is over FACT now our problem is what do we do now and how much is it going to take to turn around my total would come to about 75 million plus player sales do you think we will get that

Irishchris85

Two things need to change at the club to start building success again.

1. Replace Rodgers at the end of the year with Ancelotti

2. Remove the emphasis on young players as a transfer philosophy. Sign players based on their quality not their age or nationality.

15 Feb 2013 07:27:11
Think he has to go in the summer, not into changing mangers every season but this was a bad choice a man way out his depth, borini and allen are shocking they need to be sold waste of money when you look at how much we paid for them. Hate to say all this but, he has bitten off more than he can chew, I like rodgers idea of how to play football, but we don't have that blend of experinced and young, we are to young at times and no plan be when we get the stuffing knocked out of us like last night, if we want CL football and contending for the PL then rodgers isn't the man for the job, other teams are leaving us behind now in all aspects

Keep Rogers as manager. Rome wasn't built in a day, and we don't have an oil baron ebhind the scenes pumping money into the club to fund dream teams like certain other clubs do.

Give him some money to spend in the summer, carry on getting rid of the dead wood and those that want out, and see what happens next season.

This season hasn't been a write off, but has shown up how weak our squad really is.

I just hope we sign proven quality in the summer and that FSG give Rogers a fair crack of the whip.

I can't see why people want Rogers sacking, we will end up like Chelsea changing managers every season.

Gaz1975.

Watching the last 30 minutes against norwich away was how I thought we'd end up playing with Rodgers as manager. One touch passing, never allowing the opponent to get the ball. Now we just play counter attack with the longball, Gerrard whipping hollywood balls to the front three or out wide. In the zenit match we lost possession so cheaply it was disturbing. I have a feeling Brendan has tried to alter his philosophy in the short term to get results. But it's backfired as it's not a cohesive strategy.

14 Feb 2013 02:00:33
Hi Eds, specifically Ed002, I noticed earlier that when questioned about the Ancelotti story, you said you'd check on it. I was just wondering if you did manage to find anything out? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - The story behind the Liverpool "enquiry" about Ancelotti is correct to some degree. I understand that an enquiry was made regarding his availability via a third party (else it would be tapping up). Enquiries were also been made by Manchester City (via PSG themselves) and Queens Park Rangers. I also understand that Ancelotti would like the Real Madrid job but would not turn down a move to England if the chance arises. Real Madrid's first choice for coach is not available until after the 2014 World Cup so they are looking elsewhere and whilst there is support for Benitez I rather suspect that is waning. Ancelotti would be a very good option as he would not interfere with transfers at all. I also think we might see Lippi's name re-appear for one of the major managerial jobs this summer.}

Throwing this out there, Do you really think there is a possibility BR could be sacked? That would be madness!
FowlerisGod {Ed002's Note - I don't think there is a plan to sack Brendan Rodgers at this time but clearly the board was sold on Rodgers who signed up with a plan to get the club back in to the Champions League. It is critical not just for the income from the competition itself, but it provides many more commercial opportunities that can be exploited, it raises the sponsorship from Standard Chartered to the full level and it certainly helps some not inconsiderable amount in attracting players in to the club. To support Rodgers, the business has funded £60M of gross spending on transfers this season, it is not an unreasonable expectation for them to want to see a return on this. That is the deal he signed up for. At the very least there will be an end of season review and Rodgers will of course (if necessary) need to explain why he has not achieved this target.}

Oh God so yes he could. I get he has to meet targets, we all do in our working life but didn't Tom Werner say they would take into consideration the fact that the summer deadline day was a bit of a fiasco?I really hope they don't sack him, talk about a kneejerk reaction. I think some clubs just sack there way untill they get Mourinho or Guardiola
FowlerisGod {Ed002's Note - As I said I don't think there is a plan to sack Brendan Rodgers but I certainly would not read anything in to what Werner has said.}

Nice one, cheers Ed. The oracle as ever
FowlerisGod

Hey eds, why won't Ancelotti interfere with the transfers?
- RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - Most continental European teams and a growing number of English teams do not simply hand ove rthe transfer process to the manager or coach. They are no more that one input to that process.}

When you say Real's first choice is not available until after the World Cup, who do you mean ed? Del Bosque? {Ed002's Note - Loew.}

14 Feb 2013 17:03:36
Simply BR tells the board that he needs time and the team need to mature WHICH THEY DO! Someone yesterday had interesting arguement about Fergie taken years before Man United became the collosal they are now.

I would jump for joy if this fool was sacked and replaced with ancellotti Brendon Rodgers all style and no substance rubbish manager needs to go to defensive school

The problem with Rodgers is he has no Plan be when we are up against it, and I do think it is too early in his career to manage the Reds, although I also like how he has us playing.
Ancellotti would be a good choice, but I would personally opt for Klopp or De Boer myself.
At the end of the day though, none of them will have a huge budget to work with, and I have heard £10m plus sales will be the summer budget.

14 Feb 2013 09:32:45
Looks like marc-ter stegen won't be the new lfc keeper. he has signed a pre contract with barcelona. T {Ed002's Note - There is no pre-contract but Barcelona have failed with their attempts to sign Courtois and will be looking to complete a deal with ter Stegen in the summer.}

14 Feb 2013 10:05:41
Hmmm. Barcalona or Liverpool wonder where he'll go? :-) {Ed002's Note - Liverpool is not currently an option to him.}

14 Feb 2013 10:15:59
Sorry I meant Ter stegen is bound to choose Barca over us simply because they can offer him more. {Ed002's Note - My point is that Liverpool has not shown any interest in the player, probably because Rodgers does not player fantasy football manager or whatever game. As such, it is not even an available option.}

Good one Ed, seems to me chelsea are going to challenge fot the title next season, falcao, isco, fellaini. : (

and we will bring Ince, Lee, Amorbieta then most of you fans will expect us to challenge the likes of chelsea and Mancs.
sad but true, we will challenge when some of our youngsters reach their peak in 2-3 years time, like sterling, suso, wisdom, kelly, borini, allen etc.

14 Feb 2013 10:39:48
Thanks ed 002. Like I said before. Respect to you

14 Feb 2013 10:51:37
Courtois will likely stay at Madrid then, permanently maybe. {Ed002's Note - Nothing is decided in respect of Courtois at this time.}

Aahhh rubbish. that's not good, Vorm anyone?

LionRed

14 Feb 2013 11:58:16
Maybe Courtois on loan for a season while we have time to get a proper replacement for Reina.

14 Feb 2013 09:29:16
Personally never heard of Florin Gardos, but how many of us on here actually watch the Romanian league? An interesting new name linked with us. Does sort of fit the profile of how we signed Skrtel and Agger from smaller European leagues when they were relatively unknown. Anyone seen the lad play?

Yes I am from Romania and I can tell you is not good enough.
Mircea

14 Feb 2013 07:31:05
Mouro icardi eds are we intrested in him?

Basy {Ed002's Note - Sampdoria's Mauro Icardi has been subject to interest from Monaco, Chelsea, Napoli, Fluminense, Liverpool and Manchester City. However, it looks like the player's preferred move to Inter beckons for the summer if they can put a proposal together that suits Sampdoria - and that will include some part ownership type transactions. Perhaps Napoli will push again.}

Seen him play a few times, but I think he is not on the level which LFC requires

14 Feb 2013 06:56:39
Eds, any chance for Nigerian trio Enyeama, Emenike and Mba? Cheers. Meketak. {Ed002's Note - Not whilst there is no interest from Liverpool.}

14 Feb 2013 10:58:46
Emenike will be a good shout. fast, fluid, strong with a terrible shot and eye for goal. An upgrade to Borini and Caroll IMO.

14 Feb 2013 04:12:15
hye eds.
i read about rumours that Liverpool are scouting for mauro icardi, young argentinian forward who plays for sampdoria. is there any truth in it? is he good? {Ed002's Note - Sampdoria's Mauro Icardi has been subject to interest from Monaco, Chelsea, Napoli, Fluminense, Liverpool and Manchester City. However, it looks like the player's preferred move to Inter beckons for the summer if they can put a proposal together that suits Sampdoria - and that will include some part ownership type transactions. Perhaps Napoli will push again.}

13 Feb 2013 23:35:01
Hey eds (s) do you have any news on the enzo zidane story about him having trials at LFC? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it.}

13 Feb 2013 21:35:09
How big chance are that dortmundt schmelzer can bee a Liverpool player in the summer, ed? {Ed002's Note - Whilst there is no interest, zero.}

13 Feb 2013 23:43:22
Ed, it seems that Ericksen fever is catching hold regardless of your earlier efforts to point out the realities of the situation.

As I understand it, he would prefer la liga to the PL, and CL football to Europa league, so lfc are not going to be the most attractive PL proposition to him.

Can I ask- do you think there has been any change of circumstances, and is there any reason for lfc fans to start getting optimistic about the likelihood of Ericksen signing? {Ed001's Note - nope.}

14 Feb 2013 01:58:58
The problem I have with this ever surfacing Erikson rumour is that the player has made it quite clear Liverpool is not a club he wants to represent - let's just move on. I don't want to feel like we're a stalker!

There is no way in hell that he will come to us, all the high profile names we are linked with generally never come to us. it will be more low profile guys that will come in (well that's what I believe)

LionRed
