Liverpool are to offer £43mil for Man City duo James Milner and Adam Johnson. Which may well be accepted, due to City's interest in Alexis Sanchez (£30-£35mil), and Wilshire. Arsenal do not want to lose Wilshire but if Man City offer £40mil+, it is likely to be accepted.

Liverpool will now focus on bringing in Eljero Elia. I mentioned about Liverpool's interest in a couple of players and I've recently been informed talks with Christian Eriksen and Jarvis have died down somewhat.

I don't want to disappoint any fans but Liverpool will not be spending anywhere near as much as January and I anticipate 4-5 maximum arriving. As I have previously mentioned Marveaux, Enrique and Sakho are all very likely at the moment.

Liverpool will now focus on bringing players through the academy as they have now developed a good team foundation.

Comolli's top personnal targets are Payet, Douchez, Matuidi, Marveaux and Sakho (due to his excellent French connections). However he has scouts watching Dzsudzsak, Enrique, Wickham and Cahill as well.

Ed it was one of K. Benzema or J. Pasore and one of A. Sanchez or E. Hazard. There's no way I would expect all four mate.

How likely one of each and haven't Juve stated there not matching valuation?

Cheers {Ed002's Note - 3, 1, 0, 0. Juve wish to discuss a lower fee. I still expect him to move there.}

14 Apr 2011 19:13:13
Ed what happened to the Elia rumours because I read during january that we agreed a fee with his club can you please tell me. {Ed002's Note - It was the opposite in January - Liverpool were quted about 14M euro and walked away.}

14 Apr 2011 19:17:09
Eljero Elia recently tweeted that he will be tweeting allot more in English language to get used to it. (Check his timeline). This Is because he is preparing ahead of a move to Anfeild this summer. {Ed002's Note - There is a chance.}

Ed do you know if we have any scouts at the
PSV vs Benfica game tonight?

Square tomato

{Ed002's Note - I don't know - but I would suspect that there will be someone there. Atletico Madrid do have someone in attendance to check on the progress being made by Eduardo Salvio is is likely to return as Aguero's replacement.}

Where is Aguero off to Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Could be one of several clubs - the problem remains his wages, but I do think he will leave in the summer.}

I've heard he might go to Real Madrid. Do you know of any Interest from Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry, but no.}

14 Apr 2011 18:17:34
Ive been doing my own bit of scouting and players i like the look of are
simon kjaer
oscar wendt
ever banega
niclaus gaitan
balas dzudzsak
ricky van wolfsfinkle

i no most of these players have been linked but what the hay {Ed002's Note - They all look to be possible or even viable options.}

14 Apr 2011 18:15:54
Ed what are your views on Ezequiel Garay, and do you think we have any chance of getting him in the summer from Madrid? {Ed002's Note - Cagliari, Roma and Sporting Lisbon have him as a target and I expect he will move. I don't know of any interest from any other clubs though.}

14 Apr 2011 18:00:47
I am a huge fan of both Dimitri Payet and Blaise Matuidi of Saint-Etienne as well as Ryad Boudebouz of Sochaux.
ED, has there been any scouting of these players and is there any chance we may see these talented players in our squad next season?

Thanks
Glov3z the Red {Ed002's Note - Obviously the St-Etienne players will be well known to M. Comolli. Payet will be moving in the summer and PSG seems his likely destination - although someone suggested Rennes as an option and that makes sense. He is available for the taking and would provide a great fix on the right. Matuidi has been looked at specifically by Liverpool but Genoa have a well documented interest. I know less about Boudebouz but a number of clubs have shown an interest - including Liverpool last November (ish). If Liverpool could get Payet and Matuidi it would be a major coup.}

14 Apr 2011 17:53:11
{Ed002's Note - The previous owners were not tight with funds as you put it. They provided very significant financial support to Benitez.}

Okay, maybe they were not tight. I forgot about the total Rafa spent under them but has my point any legs? Are we looking at more expensive players now than Turan? I recall (I can't remember which ed) saying he thinks Payet could come in, whos better? Turan or Payet?

Corkpoolred

{Ed002's Note - It would have been me mentioning Dmitri Payet. I would not expect Arda to have been discounted because they club has more money to spend - as I am not certain it has a vast pot of gold. Arda will make a move in the summer - Atletico madrid and Valencia are the interested parties. I am a little unsure why Liverpool are not also vying for his signature.}

14 Apr 2011 17:55:33
Ed you're wrong on hazard {Ed002's Note - Let me know when he arrives at Anfield.}

14 Apr 2011 17:24:15
Ed what chance out of ten do we have of getting hazard {Ed002's Note - Less then 1. Perhaps a fraction above zero.}

14 Apr 2011 15:47:23
Ed, do you think we should cash in on glen johnson since we have flanagan and kelly in this position?

We could get at least £15m for johnson {Ed002's Note - I don't expect him to be sold.}

14 Apr 2011 15:02:54
I have it in good autority these are the players that will arrive over the summer

Mid: RW: Jarvis (8m) and Carzola (10m), CM: Adam (8m), LW: Mata (22m)

Read on tribal that villa are demanding £25M for ashley young do u think he is worth it .i think v should get some world class player if v r ready 2 spend that much money on wing

vivek {Ed002's Note - As I have said repeatedly I am not convinced by the player and not as sure as some that his transfer to Liverpool is all but doen.}

My friend and his dad sit behind the press box at Anfield and recently they have heard several press members talking about Alonso, saying he is coming back to Anfield in some fashion in the summer.

Now, both United and Spurs seem confident Charlie Adam will sign for them, as do we, sinse we wanted him in Jan, but what if we truly arnt going for him anymore, and the above is true, Charlie Adam is a poor mans Alonso!

Ed/ s, any of you heard much of this on the grapevine?

Anfield Andy

{Ed002's Note - Nothing about Alonso I am afraid.}

14 Apr 2011 13:35:49
Hey Ed, btw how reliable is Guillem Balague?? because he says De Gea to United is a done deal. what do you think about it??

Dan Roger. {Ed002's Note - Balague has very good contacts - through a series of associates - in the Spanish game and has always been very close to certain individuals including Rafa Benitez. As for the De Gea story, it is getting a lot of coverage and as far as I am aware there is a broad agreement between the clubs but none yet with the player (this is a couple of days old news).}

14 Apr 2011 12:47:50
I know you'v probably responded to this question Ed but I couldn't see it anywhere. Is there any truth in the Gareth bale rumours?

{Ed002's Note - I don't even know of any Gareth Bale rumours. I am pretty sure he will not be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

14 Apr 2011 12:34:43
Looks like contract talks are going on with kuyt , he just wrote this on twitter
Dirk_18_Kuyt

'I no a lot of people are asking about my new contract hopefully I can tell some really positive news soon. :)'

good news then i hope !

The same 3 rumours albeit from different internet sources. {Ed002's Note - There is actually just one rumour which orginally had a single source and has been picked up by three different outlets. It does not make anything any more correct. Certainly Sakho has been looked at as an option, as I understand Davide Astori was - but he looks like he may be off to Roma.}

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool s primary centre back signing in the summer is Bolton s Gary Cahill. Cahill has stated recently his desire to play in top European competition:

I would never disrespect Bolton after all they have done for me but I am ready for the challenge. I still speak to Jack Wilshere after his loan spell here and when I watched him in the Nou Camp the other week I couldn t help thinking, That s where I want to be: testing myself against the best . I know there is extra pressure to deliver and prove you re worth a place alongside top players but I like to think I could handle that.

Cahill could cost £20million and with Manchester City also interested in the player, the Mirror believes that Kenny Dalglish has also lined up a backup replacement in the guise of Paris Saint-Germain s Mamadou Sakho. The 21 year old PSG captain and French international would be available for the half the price of Cahill, and would fit into the club s policy of focusing on young stars. Sakho s flexibility of of being able to play left back as well as centre back could also work in his favour too.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't have him back, he is not good enough, never did achieve his potential due to his greed.}

@ Ed sour grapes here i feel.
Never achieved his potential ???

Top goalscorer for liverpool from 97-04, while the great fowler was left in his shadow.
He won young player of the year and senior player of the year awards while at liverpool.
Helped liverpool to the treble in 2001 won the Balon d'Or same year.
In the top ten of liverpools all time goalscorers.
Youngest ever player to score for liverpool.

I know he is not the same player now but he achieved and won plenty for liverpool. The guy had ambition and wanted to experience something different in his career, that's not greed.

{Ed002's Note - From another perspective, he would command high wages and his insurance costs would be right at the top end given his recent history of injuries. As such, I think it would make little or no financial sense to take him back.}

Liverpool will sign Paul Robinson in the summer to replace pepe reina.

I have got a feeling that the enrique deal has been done for a while, or he at least has a big interest of coming to us. I posted in January about seeing him in the La Tasca restaurant in Liverpool.

Ed, it was mentioned today in the press (well, caughtoffside) of our 'good relationship' with Athletico Madrid, formed from previous dealings. With that in mind, and if we needed a replacement for Reina, do you think there is a chance we could make a steal for De Gea from under the nose of United?

Adam

{Ed002's Note - It is not Atletico that would need persuading but De Gea. I very much doubt that he will be waiting too long before making a decision either.}

14 Apr 2011 08:53:02
Andy Carroll's blossoming partnership with Luis Suarez has not stopped Liverpool from considering a summer move for £15million-rated Ipswich teenager Connor Wickham.

14 Apr 2011 04:58:43
Rumour has it that Andre Villa Boas manager of FC Porto has signed a pre-agreement with Liverpool. According to caughtoffside.com, he was approached by Roma but told them he could not join because he has made terms with Liverpool. Do you think this fella can take Liverpool on top ed?

YNWA

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not come to any sort of agreement with Andre Villas Boas to become manager.}

14 Apr 2011 06:39:57
With the imminent return of mourinho to chelski expect a bid of around £20 mil for gerrard coming in as everyone knows torres isn't half the player without gerrard behind him, kk will accept £15 mil plus sturridge.

Does anyone seriously think players like Enrique, Young, Marveaux, Adam will push us to the top 4 next season, let alone the title? Surely there are better class of players out there who want to play for us, no?

SingRed

Amen to that SingRed - I'm with you mate - I'd also like to add Cahill, Parker and Jarvis to the list.

Pepe Reina will only join Arsenal if he decides to leave LFC but stay in England. He thinks they are on the verge of winning again and knows he could be their missing piece of the puzzle when it comes to winning the premiership. He is also really good friends with Cesc Fabregas who has been trying to convince pepe since the world cup. Reina still waiting to see who Liverpool sign in the summer before he decides where his future lies. He has lost all his Spanish friends at Liverpool which has affected his morale some what. Enrique is also good friends with pepe, maybe his signing is a way of keeping reina happy.

14 Apr 2011 00:42:48
Guys don't worry your little Hearts out.!

Pepe Reina will not be Leaving Liverpool.

Liverpool will not be Bidding for David De Gea.

David De Gea will not be going anywhere near Liverpool, bar on Matchday for Manchester United.

It's done.

Liverpool have made an enquiry about the availability of Ben Foster. They are willing to pay up to £10 million for the Birmingham keeper. Liverpool are looking to offload brad jones for as little as £1 million. I also know that Chelsea have rejected a £9 million move for Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool, as he will be a starter in the Chelsea team next season. Liverpool will turn their attentions to Gervinho or Romulu Lukaku whom have both been scouted for the majority of the season.

Enrique, Cahill, Adam, Young are nailed on atm.

Bids have been made for Hazard and Dzsudzsak (Hazard rejected, Dzsudzsak we're in talks with)

Marveaux- nothing been agreed yet, Liverpool having doubts over his fitness and durability, but have not pulled the plug just yet.

I expect us to go back for Elia after failing to get him in Jan.

Closely watching Afellay and Payet.

Benzema, there was a gentleman's agreement to sign in summer but following his good run of form, Real may pulll the plug. Van Wolfswinkel, Remy, Gervinho and Bojan are options for upfront too.

i liked the way this post was going right up to the point of you mentioning remy, coz he is toss & no good enough. so next time you try to dazzle someone with your knowledge keep everyone intrested & cut out stating we are after sh*t players like remy.
