Hey Eds, what's Shaqiri's situation as Bayern? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - He is not one of the players they are looking to sell. There was some talk of a loan to Hamburg.}

Believable14 Unbelievable9

I'm sure Bayern would rather him be loaned to Liverpool if LFC sold Downing.

Do we have a interest in Shaqiri eds? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Believable14 Unbelievable11

20 million for someone who does not even play & they paid half that. He's not worth & we have more pressing signings to get. Alderweireld & Eriksson. That's what we need & they cost 23 mill together.

Are we interested in Kevin gamiero? Newspapers have reported he wants a move to Liverpool this summer but is it just rumours/bs? {Ed002's Note - He is in talks with another club so it seems unlikely to me.}

Believable11 Unbelievable11

Seville {Ed002's Note - Right.}

Sharquri of Bayern is our latest rumour! What a buy he would be but surely not? Eds. What do ya think? {Ed002's Note - RTP.}

Ed's, I thought we sold spearing? How's he sneak back onto the team? {Ed002's Note - The fee was agreed but the kid did not want to move to Blackburn.}

Believable18 Unbelievable5

Ed, you are a star, but Spearing is 25 next birthday, does that make him a kid? {Ed002's Note - My kids are older than him.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Don't blame him but never the less he is obviously unwanted at Liverpool, maybe our wages are too good - if he has any ambition he will move.

Agree4 Disagree0

Jay thinks he's too good for championship teams.He want's a prem league club, so were stuck with the Hobbit for a while.

Agree2 Disagree0

Good on spearing

Agree1 Disagree3

Growing up his dream would have been to one day play for Liverpool. It must be difficult for him to give up and his attitude is perfect so let's no be so harsh on the guy. The club offered him a contract and he has every right to see it out. ForzaRed

Hi Ed002, what happens when a player doesn't want to leave ala Spearing but doesn't feature in manager's plans? Is there usually a mutual option or does the player tend to run their contract down? {Ed002's Note - I understand that Spearing would be willing to leave but does not want the move to Blackburn. This is simply the normal transfer process. Like Alderwiereld doesn't want to move to Norwich right now; Sigurdsson did not want to move to Liverpool last season; Eriksen does not want to move to Chelsea.}

Agree0 Disagree1

To be fair, Blackburn is a mess right now, fans really hate the venous, I deliver in the town daily and the amount of anti Benny graffiti is astonishing, the club has no stability whatsoever, I don't blame appearing one bit for not wanting to go there

I was speaking to my cousin in Istanbul last night and her boyfriend is Galatasaray crazy (season ticket holder, VIP box) and HIS understanding of the situation is that Liverpool are looking at Yilmaz. Liverpool have asked Gala to be kept informed of bids from rival teams but my cousin thinks that Liverpool have other targets they wish to pursue and see Yilmaz as a fall back option. Her boyfriend also said that he WOULDN'T suit the Brendan Rogers system as he is more of a Toress type player and likes the play through him rather that a fluid 3 at the front. He said he's a super player that would fit in well and the football say Chelsea or Man City play. Not exactly a groundbreaking rumour but its something for a wet Saturday afternoon in Florida

Believable25 Unbelievable18

What football do Man City play? Pellegrini hasn't even managed his team in one competitive match yet.

So season ticket holders at clubs get inside transfer info? Dear oh dear oh dear.

Considering the fact that its Turkey we're talking about, it's entirely possible RD

Agree2 Disagree1

I used to be a season ticket holder many moons ago and I was told weeks before they actually became LFC players we were going to sign Paul Stewart, Paul Walsh, Alan Mcdonald, John Wark etc by the guy that sat next to me at Anfield for years and years. In fact he was a ITK before the term ITK was invented. So yes some season ticket holders a privvy to inside info it just depends who you are. And our Turkish friend was obviously making a reference on how Mancini's City played or he may have watched a lot of Malaga and La Liga the few seasons. Flipin heck no wonder the eds are so defensive on this site people are so acerbic

Agree2 Disagree1

FFS, who would be stupid enough to try and share some information or insight when the only feedback you get is this sort of drivel!?

Though I get to use an interrobang, so that's nice.

Could we get Hernenes? {Ed002's Note - Lazio's Hernanes continues to attract the attention of a number of sides. Juventus were put off initially by his price. Approaches by Milan, Chelsea and Shakhtar resulted in the "not for sale" reply but this will likely not put off Manchester City or PSG who will be looking to affer a deal that is attractive to his club, who want him to stay in Rome, and the player himself.}

meant to asks on last post bout draxler do the eds know if he is available cheers eds {Ed002's Note - Probably not. Both Milan clubs, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have enquired at one level or another about Draxler - each has met a "not for sale" barrier. If he moves he will be very expensive.}

Ed002, If Cavani joins PSG as expected, have Real got any alternatives to Suarez that they're still considering?

They seem to be after an elite forward and with Falcao having gone to Monaco, Lewandowski staying put/moving to Bayern I struggle to identify others, maybe Ibrahimovic is one but age/wages may be a negative factor.

I suppose Higuain could stay, but I assume the change in stance is a negotiating tactic with Arsenal?

Many thanks

Papa G {Ed002's Note - They were looking at Jovetic but he looks like he is going elsewhere.}

Believable12 Unbelievable7

Suarez to Arsenal looks likely

Ed002, how do you view the recent speculation about lfc interest in burak yilmaz? {Ed002's Note - Before he left Trabzonspor for Galatasaray in the summer of 2012 Burak Yilmaz attracted interest from Sevilla, Spurs, Fulham, Dortmund, Beyer Leverkusen, Liverpool and Newcastle. Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow spoke with the player in January after the clubs agreed that they would meet the asking price from Galatasaray - but that has now risen considerably with his performances in the latter half of the season, as Chelsea were recently informed. Atletico Madrid has dropped what interest they had but two clubs do remain in discussion with Galatasaray. As far as I am aware Liverpool has not approached Galatasaray yet.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Some fans you lot. He is crap, what ever he wasn't just voted young player of the tournament in the copa America in 2011 for no reason. Seb Coates has been unlucky and thrown in at the deep end at one of the biggest clubs in Europe. I'm not sure if any of the ed's agree but maybe somewhere like Fulham which has been reported night bring the best out in him due to the fact he won't be under as much pressure. Sorry for the rant it's just anoying that complete and utter armchair supporters claim a player to be "crap" when they don't realise how their unfair opinions do nothing but bring a player down and drive them away fr a great club.

Hi eds and reds
a web site reporting Real Madrid are offering higuain plus 10 mil to secure a suarez deal. Any truth? {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any deal on the table involving Higuain, though they are looking to move him on, so it could just be conjecture as they tried a similar thing with Callejon originally.}

Believable18 Unbelievable31

ED001 do you still see RM as a viable bidder for Suarez or is it more like press hype.
I wonder cause they've spent almost £70m and now bid £30m+ on Videl of Chile. How are they able to also buy Suarez and comply with FFP.
If they do bid as some expect would you the bid being cash plus player only or could they do straight cash to trigger the clause?
Thanks for your input
Carlo {Ed001's Note - I still see Madrid buying him, they have a number of players to sell in order to raise funds, some that would easily raise enough to buy Suarez.}

Agree4 Disagree1

Thanks ed001 I thought it sounded a little suspect, but hoped the prospect of first team football would entice him. let's be honest he's never going to reach his full potential as an impact player for Madrid. Would've been a good deal if it were the truth.

Agree0 Disagree0

The FFP must not apply to Real Madrid or Barcelona, as obviously Platini has exempted them.

No matter who the player or how much the cost, RM will be in for him (Bale 75m, Suarez 45m no problem, not to mention the others they've already signed).

Is it just me or is anyone else pissed off with RM and Barcelona arrogantly thinking they can charm anyone they want away from their contracts? I was made up to see them both get tonked by the Germans last year.

To finish my rant, how annoying is it to see Madrid using the headbutter Zidane to blatantly tap up players - again Platini not bothered, but just see him spouting off if it was an English team doing the same.

Hello Eds. As Cavani is moving for 54 mill apparently to Psg do you think Liverpool would use this price as a template for Suarez. At the end of the day they only have to listen to offers of 40 mill but they don't have to accept .
every other team seems entitled to ask for obscene money for players but some people think we should be mugs and accept a measly 40 mill. Jovetic will cost near 30 for god sake .
My question is do you think Liverpool will really play hard ball with the asking price? {Ed001's Note - it is not relevant to Suarez at all. Cavani hasn't spent most of his career facing lengthy ban after lengthy ban.}

Believable25 Unbelievable9

As ed said, cavani is not a liability as Suarez is, while Suarez is probably the better player, it is near impossible to justify charging as much when he's going to let a side down time and time again, tevez cost juventus around 10m I believe and that's probably less than he would have if he hadnt caused the whole fuss over the champions league incident! Players who cause problems for a club will always lose value, anything over £30m that Liverpool can get for Suarez is good business in my opinion!

Agree0 Disagree3

Top football clubs are conceited and will always believe that players behaviour will be vastly improved without the frustrations of failure and it will be success all the way at their club, if they thought any differently they would never buy anyone.
So to say Suarez is not worth at the least the same as Cavani ( who's also an inferior player) is nonsense, also factor in that Suarez is made of steel and never misses a game through injury, the lad would be amazing in a successful side.

Agree2 Disagree0

Bans haventvgot anything to do with it- LFC should play hardball - Suarez isn't exactly old or injury plagued so they should use cavani's price as a template. The Eds are very negative towards LFC just like the media {Ed002's Note - I think you will find that the Eds will give honest opinion - rather some deluded thought that the price paid for Cavani has anything to do with Suarez at all.}

Agree1 Disagree0

When a player asks for a transfer it will drop his market value. If a transfer request is submitted then the price drops further.
Rooney's price will drop if he submits a transfer request, same with Saurez

Agree0 Disagree0

But cavani hasn't done it at any other club not to mention at international level cavani continues to misfire and Suarez is top goal scorer. Cavanis team mates seam to think he won't be as good without a team being moulded around him {Ed002's Note - Cavani has not worked his way out of playing for his previous clubs and is not going trying to do the same at his current club. Cavani has not suffered lengthy bans season on season. Their values are entirely unrelated.}
