Hi Eds, how much is the Borini deal worth? Sky are reporting it at 8mil whereas the bbc say it was 11mil. {Ed002's Note - It is 13.3M euros plus 1M euros in performance related bonuses plus VAT plus agent fees plus VAT. On top of that there is a signing on fee.}

Ed002 = cool as....! plus macca tends to have its finger on the pulse,well done on the job you do for this site lets hope you both continue sharing your opinions and info, because sometimes we really need it.kyb.

Confirmation on the LFC website that Borini has signed... I'm not one for making up songs but this jumped in my head the other day as an early thought for a song. Who remembers Stingray?

and think about substituting the words "Marina, Aqua Marina" with "Borini, Fabio Borini" - could be a hit...

To the tune of let it be
Borini, borini, borini, borini
He comes from Italy
Borini........
I need to get out more.
FowlerisGod

Lethal we buy a chelsea reserve player and get rid of one of our best on the same day. Yeah (Sarcastic if you haven't guessed). Are we gonna to have a good signing or two this year ?

BORINI , BORINI , BORINI ! etc etc etc .

To the tune of the French song : Parole , parole .

EdWood

So is that roughly £13 pounds ish give or take a few quid Ed002??

rocket

So, borini is counted as a big money transfer right, is he going to be our only "big" transfer or are we going to spend more money on another big names ? Ed's ?

Lets wait and see what the papers report on the price. My question would be eds, will we ever know the true price? There is the element of who cares, but my eye brows raise over the differences on opinions even over a tiny couple of million euros!

Ott, seems a lot for an unknown who Roma paid 2.3m. He better not be another Aqualani!

So roma got double the what they paid for him? Great business.....on their part at least!

Is it true that Borini will be on 30k a week?

Is borini really our so called exciting transfer then I want bother worrying about the rest of the transfer window ok player that's it

Heard that Afellay's agent has been offering him to premier league clubs for around 6 million, and that Barcelona said he could leave this summer...seems like a real bargain, and he'd be a great fit at liverpool, any chance of that happening, Eds? {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. A move to Lille has been rejected.}

13 Jul 2012 21:02:51
Ed apparently tommorows gazetta says that we might sign coutinho. Have u heard anything on this? {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains broadly unchanged as far as I know. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through last summer. He had a few starts early in the season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I don't think they would want to sell - hence the loan to Espanyol. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy. I suspect he will stay with Inter this summer and see how it goes next season.}

This one has some legs, young, with a big future ( listen to what BR says about Borini) a good chance this WILL happen.

Hope so! Think he has great technique & intelligence,very impressive against spurs in the champions league...

13 Jul 2012 20:10:33
Talk around Liverpool BR is to make a £7m bid for Jose Callejon from Real Madrid. Have you heard anything of this ed and do you know much about the player?
vrcomp
Y.N.W.A. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any serious interest in Callejon although a number of clubs have apparently enquired as to his availability. I don't see him being made available.}

An enquiry was made and we were told he was "non transferable".. quote from his agent.

Fabio Borini will wear No.29 for Liverpool next season.

Having flown into Liverpool at midnight last night, the Italy international arrived at Melwood at 9am this morning to agree terms and take a medical.

One thing he asked for was the 29 shirt because it is his lucky number. Borini has not worn No.29 at a professional club before as it has never been available

Dazzab09

Flown in at midnight, what was he on a carpet? :)

Hopefully 29 is the age we sell him at for 60 million :-)

"Flown in at midnight, what was he on a carpet? :)"

^ dont you feel a bit silly now, this is a direct copy and paste from the official lfc website

The 29th is also his birthday, maybe that's why it's his lucky number?

I'm pretty sure he gonna wear number 6, as that was what he was wearing today.

"I'm pretty sure he gonna wear number 6, as that was what he was wearing today."

No, he was wearing number 6 because that was the spare training wear at that time. (remember hendo wearing DC (Damien Comolli) in the pics, interview etc.). Plus this is a direct C+P from the LFC website.

13 Jul 2012 19:33:12
Ed

Just wondered if you knew how Steven Defour was doing since his move to Portugal? He wouldn't be a bad shout if he was available and still young.

Do you know if he would be available this summer?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - I really don't see him moving to Liverpool this summer.}

He will not leave Porto...he is seen as the man to fill the void of Spurs-bound Moutinho.

13 Jul 2012 19:33:11
Fabio Borini has signed. Welcome to LiverpoolFC Fabio!! YNWA

Welcome to Borini! Great potential and can play in a few positions, hopefully more signings to come before the pre season tour starts!

The A man

Just watched video of fabio looks good hopefully a better buy than last lot with the exception of Carroll .what is rodgers thinking not including him is next seasons setup

13 Jul 2012 19:13:04
he eds is there any truth in the Holtby and Draxler stories ? and who else can you see us signing ? please post

thanks

DMW {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Holtby is a massive Everton fan "My father was born in England and was a Everton fan since the age of five. He immediately infected me with the Everton virus! Since then I have been a Everton fan and have always followed their games"

Liverpool Football Club can today confirm that Maxi Rodriguez has joined Newell's Old Boys in Argentina.

Maxi, who arrived at Anfield from Atletico Madrid in January 2010, netted 17 goals in 73 appearances for the Reds.

Highlights of the midfielder's Anfield career include two hat-tricks in the space of a couple of weeks against Birmingham and Fulham in 2011 as well as important strikes against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in November of that year.

Everyone at Liverpool FC would like to thank Maxi for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future.

Official Statement

I wonder if anyone clicked 'unbelievable'. Also, good luck Maxi at your new club. I thought he would have done really well in Rodgers' set up. Any idea of how much we got for him or was it a 'free' transfer? Cheers.

Cheers maxi, wish we signed you 4 years before we did.
good luck
harry h

Wth?.today itself there was an article on the site that rodgers wanted him to stay..& now this..whatever best wishes to him..this means we would be signing quite a few more players i believe

Should have played a lot more for us and could have been even better under Rodgers. Maxi's open letter to the fans on the LFC website says it all.

His wages were to high, his age counted against him and Rodgers probably could not offer him 1st team football otherwise he would have stayed.

At the end of the day, we need a better player than Maxi...

Good luck to him.

Maxi would have thrived under BR. Kinda think he wanted to return home though. He played his heart out in red. Best wishes for the future to him.

Bye bye maxi all the best for the future ynwa!

We need a better player than Maxi?... His wages? Why are people so obsessed with wages, how much was Poulson on untill VERY recently?
Don't worry about his wages, leave that to the accountants... He was a squad player, and a bloody good one at that...
Good luck to the lad back at Newell's.

"At the end of the day, we need a better player than Maxi... " Are you having a larf! Good enough to play for Argentina but not quite good enough for us? Have you been smoking pampas grass???

All the best to Maxi, been at the club through the recent tough times and has been a good servant!

The A man

Well said. A good team member and I wish him well for the future.

How can anyone say this is "unbelievable" when the post is taken word for word from LFC website? "Unbelievable !!"

Bill

Shocking Only 31, Could have played another couple of years at top level easily. Kuyt gone as well. Huge holes

I agree he would have thrived under BR but am not surprised seeing as last season he hardly got a look in, despite scoring important goals for us. Personally, I think it was more personal reasons he wanted to leave. His leaving message just goes to show what a genuine great guy he is, I wish him all the best!

Bye bye Maxi and all the best to you in your new club.

13 Jul 2012 18:02:08
Maxi Gone. Thanks mate.

Quality player
FowlerisGod

Bye Maxi, thanks for all you've done for us and the best of luck for the future.
Y.N.W.A.

Quality guy!
"You can NOT imagine what a great honour it was for me when the Kop sang, 'Maxi, Maxi Rodríguez runs down the wing for me da da da da dada...'"
Good luck Maxi!
Moonboots

Thanks for what? He was rubbish. He is a hider. I used to forget he was playing until he was substituted. Why are people fooled by a few goals? Riise was the same. Useless defender but scored a few scorchers so people loved him. These players were bad for Liverpool FC. Huge wages and not good enough. Not sorry to see Rodriguez go at all.

Agree with previous poster...overall he was an overpaid poor player. no pace, couldn't tackle, no bite in him and went missing during games. Most of the goals he scored by the way were in end of season meaningless matches. Dont know where all this "thanks mate" "quality player" rubbish is coming from.

13 Jul 2012 17:52:51
The article on the lfc main page about BR wanting maxi to stay has been removed in the last 5-10 mins. Could that possibly mean maxi has gone? What do you think eds?
Gazman10 {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what it means, sorry. I do however expect Maxi to leave.}

Confirmed on the site he has...

Thanks
Kindest Regards

He's left the club. Shame in a way but will free up a considerable wage
Victor

Yes he has left on LFC web page Borini i think to have number 11

mkdlfc

Maxi joined newells old boys on lfc website now
sad to see him go but hopefully new blood coming in

Just been confirmed that maxi is leaving :( guess BR wasn't able to give him a deal worth staying for.

I was kind of hoping he would leave, as much as he wasnt a bad player and scored a few goals I'm hoping his departure will increase sterlings chances of getting in the first team!
Cheers

Hi Ed's.

Any clubs looking to sign Jose Callejon?

Cheers

Rascal Red {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any serious interest in Callejon although a number of clubs have apparently enquired as to his availability. I don't see him being made available.}

13 Jul 2012 17:40:32
Hi ed do you think we will sign Clint Dempsey? He is a great player and at a big club like Liverpool I really think he will stand out, especially if he was pared up with our new signing Fabio Borinio? These two would be great goal scoring machines, what do you think? {Ed002's Note - I think there is a good chance of Dempsey signing.}

I think dempsey would be a great signing myself, he's a tough man too, can handle himself, shankly would have approved...YNWA

Dempsey is great but old we need young players

More importantly, if Dempsey does sign does he have to arm wrestle Jamie for the number 23? Kidding, of course.

I for one wouldn't mind seeing Dempsey in red- good, aggressive player who knows where the net is. Not a bad addition in the slightest, but guess we'll see...

RDL

RDL

The deal is supposed to be done b saturday or sunday as a reliable source says

He's not that old and seems to be peaking in recent seasons.....gerrard is what 31/32

BBC saying Fulham offering £9 million plus Dempsey for Carroll. I think they have got to go a lot higher than £9 million to justify a transfer even with Dempsey included. They may go higher but are just" testing the water" as an opening bid. What do other fans think?

Bill

Dempsey. How about somebody decent. I know he's good at fulham, but where's going to play? We need a centre midfielder, a bloody good one. Come on splash the cash, tight arses

Are you kidding??
I watch Dempsey an awful lot. If I were Fulham, I'd be asking for Carroll + 9m.
Just because we were deluded enough to pay 35m for AC doesn't mean that anyone else thinks he comes near that valuation. No other club (other than Spurs) were prepared to play 20m for Carroll at the height of his value and his stock has dropped awfully since then. Even at 22 with his "sell-on value" and "potential", I'd rather have Dempsey in a straight-up swap. I have no idea why Fulham are remotely interested as Carroll doesn't suit their style of play at all. If we can get Dempsey and any cash, I would gladly drive the donkey to London myself.

Hey Ed's has there been any more news on us going for Jakub Blaszczykowski? {Ed002's Note - No. Given all enquiries for Blaszczykowski have been rebuffed with a "not for sale" statement it seems an unlikely move.}

More likely no-one could pronounce his name to make the enquiry! {Ed002's Note - He uses the name Kuba to ease the issue.}

It would cost a fortune to have his name on your shirt !

Echo is reporting Owen could be set for Everton medical? Interesting...

Thanks, Ell.

He's looking for a full house of betrayal why not i guess.

A player I couldn't care less about joing a team I care even less about.

Tommy Walsh

Interesting indeed,could he detatch himself any further from Liverpool by playing for not one but two of our biggest rivals and worst of enemies, don't think anybody will ever look back on Michael with fond memories, even more so if he signs for Everton, what a waste of a great striker he turned out to be !

If he did sign it would have to be on a pay per game contract since he spent most of his time with the Mancs injured.Knowing Owen he would also be asking for pretty high wages and I very much doubt the Ginger Whinger would agree to that.Never mind Lovvie Darling Kenwright.

We all know he's desperate to get back to Liverpool....and that's the nearest he can get

cozinoz

"micheal is a player i would love to work with "said the neverton physio

Possible. Reported in the news he was looking for an offer in the Premiership and would not go to a championship side and "could still bang them in" Being a Everton fan before joining LFC this could be an ideal way to end his career and another shrewd peice of business by Moyes.I think it could happen.

Heard some news about a trensfer for Igor Denisov of Zenit. This is taken from the official Norwegian LFC site. Heard anything Eds?

Erik Oslo {Ed002's Note - The rumour has been floating around for the past 24 hours but I know nothing of any confirmed interest from any club, let alone Liverpool.}

Its in the "Rumour section", not at the official Norwegian LFC site! - and its Metro thats made up this story ....

13 Jul 2012 15:52:38
Hi Eds.
Which player do you think that could be the star player that Brendan Rodgers will bring in this summer?
Will it be a player such as adam johnson, walcott?, or can it be players from the class above that, thinking of Hulk or Huntelaar etc.?
- great site by the way!! {Ed009's Note - Adam Johnson would be my pick of those players - neither Hulk nor Huntelaar are likely.}

Please not Adam Johnson - Downing is better, if he ever plays to his ability of course.

I hope you're right Ed, Johnson can be as good as he wants to be in my opinion. Bags of natural talent

Chris in Tamworth

I don't get it when people are against Johnson, he is a quality little player, likes to use his pace and take on and beat players, Downing to put it simply doesn't!

I Reckon wolcott better then johnson just my opinion I would like Liverpool to sign Walcott he would suit Rodgers

BR not interested in Johnson. Walcott is a very very long shot. Dempsey, Allen, Ramirez and Sturridge and the primary taregts, though not all will be signed. Even BR won't know who we are going to get by the end of the transfer window!

I'd like to see huntelaar and hulk but thats never gonna happen but i think the johnson, walcott could be a good signing

Stewart Downing could be the easiest winger to mark in the prem because the only thing he does is try to sprint straight down the left and then gets tackled before he gets a chance to cross or cut in....I would love it if Adam Johnson came, he's young, varies his game and can take players on when he wants to a lot of the time...incredibly talented

Adam Johnson, no thanks. Drinking buddy for Carroll, downing and adam

so borini signs for reported 7.9m at that price bargain DORSET RED

13 Jul 2012 15:42:27
How long will borini's medical take? And I have sources from liverpool saying that dempsey is interested in liverpool and a deal including carrol and 9 mill will be sorted out by tuesday.

Thunderbird

Is your source the football rumours app for iPhone or BBC Sport?

Rob

So you're saying we're prepared to pay fulham £9 million plus give them andy carroll who cost £35 million?. OLr am I reading it wrong because that doesn't add up to me

Pegleg {Ed002's Note - He means Carroll in exchange for Dempsey and £9M.}

Well big Sam allerdice has just confirmed he wants Carroll , not sure if he wants to buy or loan though. Even if they can't compete, it's another club after him and this is a good thing if he is on his way out. More publicity = better deal for us.

We should keep carroll,game changer if things are not going too plan.walk on walk on,jay essex red for life red till dead

I keep saying it, to let him go without even seeing how things work out ,considering his improved form, would be stupid and I do not think Rodgers is stupid.

Must have become a right mickey mouse club if dempsy is the highlight of the day and a must for the club. You dont pay 35mil for a striker who had a decent euros and then flog him for peanuts to fulham. my suggestion is hes staying

My source is a representative inside anfield and Fulham will give us 9 mill and Dempsey for Andy carrol, however west ham want carrol on loan and will not be prepared to pay

Thunderbird

If you have sources from Liverpool, how come you need to come on here and ask how long Borini's medical will take?

Carroll should stay he is going nowhere. Rodgers would be a disgrace to get rid of Carroll. He gives a plan b and something different.

Carroll will not go he's already admitted he's in form and very looking forward to the new season ahead with LIVERPOOL FC

Carroll will not leave, and Carroll for £9million + Dempsey is pathetic. At least make your lies believable

13 Jul 2012 15:41:45
Borini terms agreed and he will wear Aurelio's Number 6 shirt.

Dore89

I've just seen him in his traing kit. He was wearing number 6.

Why in hell would he wear #6? I think Martin Skrtel will take that number

I would not read too much into him wear #6 for the medical. I think they use spare number for medicals!

No he won't. He was wearing No. 6 because it was a free number for now. Besides, the numbers worn by players on their training kit is not necessarily their real number.

AG

I think Skrtel said he likes 37 as 3 is his lucky number and 7 is is wifes lucky number. (something like that anyway)

That was just training gear I'd say it's more Likely he will wear 15!

Come on now,the 1st signing is coming in and your all acting like this omg good signing BUT,what are you going too be like when the big name comes in you just see,walk on walk on...jay essex red for life red till dead

The number 6 means nothing, if you recall when Jordan Henderson signed he was pictured wearing a lfc training jumper with the initials DC (Damien commoli)

You didn't know anything, his actual number has been printed on the official site. I wish people would stop making things up.

Whouups. It's official. He's wearing no. 29. So much for being in the know..

Hes wearing 29 and aurelios old number was 12!!!

13 Jul 2012 15:35:35
A question for the Eds:

Are we allowed to sign any players from Swansea?

I heard that when Rodgers was appointed, he agreed not to 'raid' his old club for at least a year.

Just wondering because of all the rumours surrounding Allen.

Cheers.

SMC {Ed009's Note - Rodgers is of course 'allowed' to do whatever he likes, as there is no strict rule stopping him from signing Swansea players. However he clearly wishes to avoid it in order to retain the respect of his former club's fans.}

Basically an agreement has been made between Liverpool and Swansea that Brendan Rodgers will not take any players from Swansea to Liverpool. If Rodgers was interested in a player he has said himself he has such a good relationship with Swansea that he would give them a call to enquire about the player.
The agreement has been put in place out of respect for the club, but if rodgers enquires about a player and both parties agree on the fee for the player then they can obviously go through with a transfer. If they say no then Rodgers cannot buy player.

Hope this helps.

Red Lee

Rodgers has agreed not to bid on any swansea players UNLESS another team has made a offer then we can enter the bidding.

Well Allen will be a Liverpool player by next week.

Wouldn't surprise me if Allen does force a move to us

13 Jul 2012 15:25:40
Joe Allen should be signed by next Wednesday with Liverpool prepared to pay as much as £12mil for the Swansea player. Brendan Rogers has spoken to Jenkins about the availability of Joe Allen and has even given him a choice of players they could loan to sweeten the deal. Amongst the possible loanees are Charlie Adam, Jay Spearing and a couple of young reserve players.
Rusty

Even if we don't sign Joe Allen, we should still loan Swansea Spearing and Adam !! {Ed002's Note - That is not possible.}

He's just ok, don't get carried away. 12 million, more like 5

13 Jul 2012 15:20:07
Eds, Rodgers said there was a possibility of 2 signings by the end of the week. Is it possible for another player to be there besides borini? Or would everyone know if their was? {Ed009's Note - Dempsey is of course a possibility, and is a player I would be delighted to see at the right price. Borini, for all his detractors, was excellent for Swansea in their promotion push and is a signing I will be very happy with.}

To be honest eds and macca you seem happy with any signing. Ride the moral high ground... Always. {Ed009's Note - what an infuriating response. Firstly I wasn't happy with several of the signings last season, but more importantly, it is not whether the players have flair, but whether they fit into the system which is important, and I believe in Rodgers' vision for the club.}

The owners and the managers last year had a great vision, this year is the same. However their lovely, dandy vision might look good on paper with proven players who fit into a system. In reality we will probably finish 6th which won't be good enough.

Ed do you think the announcement imminent could be for another player in addition to borini {Ed009's Note - I simply couldn't say, sorry.}

No i just think rodgers didnt realise how slow liverpool did business

I live in italy and watched this guy a lot last year. He was excellent for Roma especially in the second half of the season and at the prices being talked could be a great signing!

13 Jul 2012 15:09:22
Fabio Borini has passed medical and signed, Official announcement imminent.
Red Robin

Eds do you think this is the exciting player. BR. Was talking about? {Ed002's Note - If he said that, then yes.}

13 Jul 2012 14:42:09
Hi Eds, I just finished a manager mode on fifa with crewe, their young striker Clayton scored 34 goals in the league for me. Any chance of putting a bid in, he looks like a good player. Cheers mate. {Ed005's Note - Somehow mate I doubt FM is a good indicator of the ability of a player - there's been nothing said about Clayton though I don't think. All the best in your FM career.}

Well well well what a joke...
Ive just played sims 3 and bulit a mansion with ten bedrooms and worth £43m, can I please have it for real Eds....
Some people need to snap out of this Interactive life
Liverbird09

Ed is right, and i dont mean to be pedantic but he did say fifa. Which i think is worse, FM at least TRIES to be accurate

I can assure the ed that FM is pretty accurate.

Gaan

I wish ed002 was the one who fielded that question. No offense ed005, bc your response was enjoyable, but I feel like she would have really laid into him on that one

LFChad

This is amazing... Really amazing... What a special person!

Lol, Clayton is Rated 46 on Fifa if i remember correctly. One of the worst players on the game

I think this was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek, and everyone bites, everytime. Fair play mate, nice post

op6

Everton use FM as a scouting tool, I'm sure they do

Rob

Guys, whilst the op is quite funny there is some credability in it. crewe hold max clayton in very high regard, its why they didnt want powell back from utd on loan, they think clayton is every bit as good and want to give him game time next season, one for the future maybe?

I Reckon you should pass this on to Brendan rodgers, hel be delighted....

Hi ed since our deal with warrior and there slogan"we come not to play,we come to fight" well i was playin mortal kombat earlier and was wonderin if we were interested in sub zero hes a great finisher......gmil {Ed002's Note - Aren't you a bit old for that stuff?}

The eds need entertainment just to destress... this doo doo is shockin actuly pmsl as i type, Fm?? Realy?
when a.i. inteligence covers human nature heart problems broken legs the effect a broken leg can have on a player pffffft
Unbelievable..
get this lad dragged intothe kop and tell me if his computer creates that kind of atmosphere for its A.I players!

R2tB {Ed002's Note - None of this means anything to me but it seems inoffensive. The old Orange Sunshine kicking in?}

Is this guy actually for real basing a players ability on an game?

Eds,

I've reached 2022 in FM and there's this 16 year old guy Don Juan from the LFC reserve players. I can't find him on any club rosters here in 2012! Is there any chance of promoting him to the first team even though he's only about 6 years old?

Pretty sure this is a joke. Some people clearly lacking a sense of humour tonight... {Ed001's Note - to be fair, Max Clayton is a top young talent, he will probably be a Prem player in a few years.}

Ah well at least the lad admits he is asking questions based on football manager or fifa. blue peter badge for your honesty.

14 Jul 2012 11:44:54
ed 002 it was the only computer game i could think of must be my old age kickin in lol ...gmil {Ed002's Note - Leisure Suit Larry not your style then?}

13 Jul 2012 14:06:05
Ed002 do you think there is a chance of mertens or walcott coming to lfc? they would fit us perfectly {Ed002's Note - I don't see Mertens moving to LIverpool - if he moves this summer I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich although there is interest from Lazio. I don't know if Walcott will even be available not what options he would have if he were. Deciding to leave Arsenal may not enhance his career, particularly if he wants to stay in England.}

How can you possibly say hel fit our squad? How? There is no proof of that comment! Walcott is one of the most inconsistent players I have seen in the premiership. He has one good game and then 10 not so good. We don't need inconsistency!

I read that in Uruguay the press says that Luis will move to juventus because they have champions league football and Luis has said he has had a tour of the ground and was impressed with what the snr agnelli the owner said and with what Martin caceres has said about the club and the plans of conte the coach. My question is if this is true will we make a formal complaint about this obvious tapping up? {Ed002's Note - Suarez went to a game as a guest and unless specific efforts were made to see if he is open to a transfer it would likely not be tapping up. Players go to games and speak to people from different clubs regularly. Alonso is not a rare sight at Liverpool for example.}

Start at £60m and we might think about it. Any less than forget it.

Well ed i heard suarez was also at the miami heat playoff final, is he set to sign for them?oh and may i also say we have found yet another reason to love alonso

Eds, just heard from a reliable source that borini as accepted personal terms and this will pave the way to swap Carroll an 7 mill for cisse, please post. Fisher

What a numpty,never heard so much rubbish in all my life

So we give Carroll and £7 million??? You sure

13 Jul 2012 13:13:54
Swap deal Carroll and Cissé

Nah, Cisse had a good 10 games or so ... I remember us signing a particular player after around the same amount of games.

Really wouldn't mind if he has to go but i really think Carroll should be given a chance to see if he fits in... Fabio borini for bellers an Dempsey for dirk

You cant mean Djibril Cisse surely ? As if that would happen. Why do the eds put up blatant lies.

Cisse of Newcastle not djibril cisse you jerk!

Papiss Cisse is an even worse rumour than Djibril.

Papise cisse was on fire with newcastle at the back end oF last season .he is way better than djbrile

Pappis Cisse is magic, scored a goal at the bridge that can only be described as Voodoo then did a disapearing act after it.

Andy Carroll back to Newcastle - Permanent, with Demba Ba coming to Liverpool in exchange plus £8-£10 million. Dyson

Absolutely never happen - much prefer Carroll to Demba Ba - Carroll is young and will improve. Demba Ba probably won't at 27.

Why on earth would Liverpool take a £25 million loss on a player who brings a different dimension to a game that no one else in PL does.

John B

That won't happen either. Another lie. I think the eds are just having a laugh putting these up. Ridiculous.

If you wanna be sucked in ... it's gotta be ... a Dyson.

Demba Ba has no knee's, this deal will never happen

Hi eds,heard from a close friend that be will let Charlie Adam, Craig bellamy and jay spearing leave to free up squad for signings of a.Johnson,Dempsey and granero. What do u think, please post.

"close friend" meaning his best mate in school. {Ed009's Note - his best mate does know best, to be fair.}

Yeah, that would be fine Ed, but his best mate is an invisible rabbit called Dave {Ed009's Note - Don't tell anyone but the invisible rabbit called Dave is an editor on this very site!}

Yea-only if we are paying the 9-10 million to them along with Andy

Shouldn't let Bellamy go he has one more good season in him. Spearing will improve in time given time. Ok Adam may and should go. I'd love Adam Johnson

This is probably true spearing needs some time to get first team football and as does bellamy and adam there is no way adam will make it back into the squad with borini

Charlie Adam definately. Craig Bellamy possibly. But why was Jay Spearing sat next to BR at the recent press conference? If LFC wanted to transfer a player surely they wouldnt want them sat next to the manager commenting on the forth comming season.Seems BR wants to keep Spearing doesn't it?

Bill

hey eds great site due to our interest in cover for enrique do you think that Benoit Tremoulinas or Chiek M'Bengue of Bordeaux and Toulouse could be options to fill the void, i think thst it will do robinson good to go out on loan and get a season of football under his belt.
{Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt either will be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

13 Jul 2012 12:56:36
Downing looks set to join QPR. They will pay around 10 million for him. {Ed029's Note - Your source?}

That would be brilliant. It's just a pity you're lying though.

Ha sterling cost like what 1mill from qpr? We should give Downing to em for nothing

Yesterday Hoilet was joining QPR and today Hoilet's talking to Munchengladbach.Silly stories from QPR to keep the fans happy and no truth in any of them.

Don't see this as being a fact.Dowing is a good football player and last season he was under a lot of pressure.It was his first season and some fans thought we paid too much for his transfer.His main job was to provide crosses for AC or whoever was in the box to score. He has good control of the ball and awareness of other players around him. BR is certain of his strengths and weakness's.With our new style of "pass and move" now known as "tikka takka" i think he will really improve. Lets get behind LFC and move in the same direction and encourage current our players.

Bill

I'm the chairman of QPR, I'm the source. I f you need proof I can send a pic

Bill your talking nonsense. He was appalling for large parts of the season, he went missing all the time, he always (and i mean always) cut inside. He always tried daft shots when there were better options available, his attitude certainly wasn't one of a player trying his best, it wasn't his first season in the Premier League (he's played there all his career), your excuses are woeful - unless Downing really starts to perform and shows that he really wants to play for the club I think we should get rid of him if offered 10million

SMc

I personaly think downing should stay, his crossing ability is good, we need more players in the box to recieve them.

13 Jul 2012 12:12:09
AC Milan plan to raid Man City for Carlos Tevez and Liverpool for Andy Carroll as they overhaul their ageing squad. They hope to sign both players for under £40mil.
Rusty

I think more like 25 for carrol and probably 30 for tevez even at his age.

13 Jul 2012 11:48:57
Ed any truth in the rumours that Fulham are preparing a Cash + Dempsey offer for Andy Carroll ? Heard this on Ed022 timeline on twitter. I think if they offer around 13-15 million pounds + Dempsey we should accept it. Its the best we can get at the moment.
NOTE: Before some fans start abusing , I too want Carroll to stay but if the manager does not see him in his plans it is best to move him on. {Ed022's Note - Howdy ho. This is true, and Ed002 actually confirmed it for me a moment or two ago. However, Carroll has offers from other places (haven't found out where from as of yet) so this deal is by no means certain. It is not guaranteed that it is a player+cash deal, as the deals could be separate as well. Hope this helps.}

Hope they dont sell back to newcastle for 10m they valued him at 35m he got back to his old form at least 20m nothing less, personally i would keep him but as ed says if he is not part of bucks plans best to find the best deal we can get.Tommy Irish Red.

I have full faith in BR, but I really don't think £9m + a 29 year old would be shrewd business in exchange for a 23 year old who is beginning to show real promise. I understand he doesn't necessarily fit BR's style of play, but surely his size and power could be attributes that could still be used, surely if the lad feels he wants to prove himself? I just hope we don't live to regret selling Big Andy is he does go (which I, for one, hope he doesn't as I still think he could be great)

JP

JP

I would be upset to see carroll leave he is starting to ge confidence! and will be back to himself soon

I would bite theire hand off for that deal for Carroll would be a good piece of business in my opinion.

Red John

Andy carroll for dempsey would be a shocking bit of business.there is no way fsg would consider that (i dont think). dont even think andy would see fulham as a good move.Newcastle on the other hand......

13 Jul 2012 11:56:01
Eds do you think Pacheco will be sold this summer? {Ed029's Note - Yes, it is likely that he will move on}

The best place Pacheco can go to is Fulham he could help us get Dempsey

Really. He's a talented footballer. Surely he would fit into Rodgers style of play being spanish and all and a neat and tidy footballer with good vision. So obviously we should keep him. He's better than Joe Allen.

13 Jul 2012 11:35:36
Hi eds.just heard on talksport liverpool are offering charlie adam as part of the deal for clint dempsey..great site.

Hope he goes the other way. Fulham do need a replacement for Murphy, don't they?

Give them aqualini instead keep charlie adam

Gerrard
Adam Lucas

Aquilani is ten times the player Adam will ever be.

13 Jul 2012 11:30:15
Just seen on the Talksh*te website, that Juve are back in for Suarez, any news Edd's? {Ed002's Note - Not so much "back in" but, yes Juventus remain one of the clubs interested in Suarez and they will, as has already been explained, look to get to the negotiating table.}

I really dont understand how edoo2 who in my opinion never puts his neck on the line says juve are still in then another ed says he defo wont be leaving {Ed002's Note - Didn't I put my neck on the line by saying Juventus are still interested - as are a number of other clubs?}

Why would suarez move to italy it is realy where players go when their finished now

Lol, I'm afraid it's a case of Ed002 desperately clutching at straws when there is absolutely no chance of Luis going anywhere! Keep hoping Ed002. I've got my knife ready for your slice of humble pie! {Ed002's Note - So you think I put the article on the TalkSport web site?}

If its talks**te lad then don't look on the site.

DaveyBootle

I was by no means slating you ed simply saying that alot of the times eds contradict each other. and in my opinion you dont put your neck on the line. i believe it was ed 0022 said suarez will not be leaving and is looking to extend his contract {Ed002's Note - I can hardly be held responsible for what other Eds tell you. Clearly others think I am writing these articles for TalkSport.}

They would need to start the bidding at £60 million for Liverpool to even think about it.

Davey bootle i suggest you get your head out of the eds arse. the fact is the eds do contradict each other with ed002 being the ed that usually says things like theres a possiblility he is going, there is a chance, maybe and i believe this is to cover himself so he can say i never said it was a definite. and i come on this site davey to get info but sometimes gets confused when eds say different things therefore brung this subject up.

There will always be clubs 'after' Suarez, as is the case with any exceptional player. If you had a beautiful wife, she too would be sought after.

Ay? What are you on? New to this then? Listen, if its s**te then don't look all silly and add a site as a rumour reference. I suggest you refer back to my past quotes to see I'm not a brown nose. Helm.

DaveyBootle

How much money do juve have? Havent they bought 5 players already, what about fair play. Ed dont give two sh*ts about what those pricks are saying. We appreciate your input and know it is not gospel. {Ed002's Note - Juventus would be looking to perhaps look for a trade as I explained before. There is zero point me explaining what the options are again.}

Nope not new to this site at all, And I apologise to edd002 if I came across criticising it wasn't intended like that just wondering why u Edds say different whether different sources or what not {Ed002's Note - I really cannot account for the distorted and twisted views of other editors. But if I were you you should believe them and not me.}

13 Jul 2012 11:14:57
ed, do you think there is interest in denisov?am i right in thinking he is a dm player?it would seem to suggest that if we were signing someone lkike this that the club do not believe coady to be ready for first team action yet? {Ed002's Note - I don't know; yes he is a DM; I would not read anything in to it in respect of Coady.}

Coady will never make it at Liverpool. He's about the same level as Spearing and Spearing should have never been anywhere near the first team.

13 Jul 2012 11:07:21
Eds what do you honestly believe will end up happening regarding Joe Cole? I would like to see him stay personally. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Lille would have taken him but the wages were an issue. PSG showed an interest but it has gone quiet. There has been some rumoured interest from a couple of other clubs but there is nothing firm.}

13 Jul 2012 11:01:30
thomas Muller to leave Bayern for first team footy, any chance?? {Ed002's Note - None.}

13 Jul 2012 11:00:21
Any update in terms of Schalke's Lewis Holtby and Julian Draxler? i posted in early hours and one of you kind eds said you would look into it to see if BS.
I have done the youtube thing and both look good, especially Holtby, but youtube can make Heskey look like pele so maybe means little

gareth {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over either moving to Liverpool.}

Just like Borini Ed002? Or just like Suarez not long ago? {Ed002's Note - Sure, take a dig.}

No chance of Holtby whatsoever, his dad's a Scouser, but the whole family are devout Everton fans.

13 Jul 2012 10:56:32
Hi Ed's

Is it true that Borini is having his medical today? Do we have any interest in Jefferson Farfan at Schalke? could be the solution to our wing problems {Ed002's Note - Farfan is not an option. Sorry.}

Yes Borini is currently at melwood also confirmed on sly sports..
Dave

Yes, saw him getting out of a car at Melwood with a few other people

Basically what your saying is anybody that's good is not an option ?

13 Jul 2012 10:55:31
Igor Denisov to Liverpool according to Russian Media speculation. May be just that but thought I'd share. Davatron {Ed002's Note - If there is interest in Denisov that would be the DM someone was asking about.}

13 Jul 2012 10:35:18
What ever happened to Keisuke Honda ed? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. Recent enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo and Lazio nearly signed him in January. I suspect Lazio remains the most likely destination. Talk of a move to Arsenal periodically arises. Perhaps one for the January window.}

Very possible, if i'm not mistaken, there has been a pretty consistent interest in Hernanes by a few clubs, i'm sure ManU even once enquired. So Hernanes out, Honda in.

13 Jul 2012 10:29:47
Hello ed(s) I know some papers are running the story of money + Dempsey for Carroll, but i heard it is Charlie Adam that is the player we are willing to negotiate a part-exchange for.
I know Carroll is most probably leaving, would have been content with him staying, offers a different option.

Cheers Mates

South African YNWA

Cheers mates?? are you in disguise??

13 Jul 2012 10:23:44
borini to have a medical this afternoon en! hey eds what r the chances of carroll going to fulham ina swap deal with dempsey and 9mil?
{Ed002's Note - It is possible but the kid would need to agree to a move to London. If not there may be another option or two for consideration.}

Carroll does not need to go to London.

Be like Gazza all over again....

13 Jul 2012 10:24:47
Looks like Aqua is staying. Well, according to his agent anyway.

The Crow {Ed029's Note - Don't be fooled by that his agent has said that before}

This guy is a b00b, I don't know if he gets paid by the press release but it seems every other day he is saying some rubbish.

He's staying, he's going, he wants to give it a go in England, he wants to play in Italy. If I didn't know any better i swear he is just using a magic 8 ball and releasing statements based off the answers.
If I was Aqualani I would tell him to shut up until there is actually something to say. Doing this all the time doesn't make the player look very professional at all.

Let Aqua go, his heart is not at LFC. We don't need players like that no matter how talented they are. Get rid of him ASAP.

The sooner Aquilani and his agent are away from LFC the better.

Could he not be used as part of a deal for ramirez or would bologna not want him either. {Ed002's Note - What deal for Ramirez?}

13 Jul 2012 09:54:15
Fabio Borini is in Liverpool and will have a medical today!

Red Lee

13 Jul 2012 09:48:24
Spearing off to West Brom! 99% certain to happen!

Robbo

I so hope so,...Not good enough to play for Liverpool, tho could do a Lucas a suprise everyone

Kop71

I so hope this is true. I really doubt it though. Why would WBA want Spearing. He wouldn't even get in their team.

Steve Clarke knows all about Spearing.I agree he is not quite up to LFC standard but he is better than a lot on here think he is.I think he could do a good job for them.

Ill fly to the uk and personally drive him there :)

I don't know i remember rodgers speaking highly of him. i think it depends on whether or not we get allen

He is useless, if he wasn't local he wouldn't be here. He can't tackle, pass or shoot. All he does is stand around pointing.

Hope to god this is true! ive been saying all season that he wouldnt get in to any over prem team.

13 Jul 2012 09:36:31
Hi Guys
Borini fee agreed 12m inc add ons. Medical today, late afternoon.
EJ

Sorry but I am not excited about this. we have been over charged by an italian club surprise surprise. How was he worth a total of 7 million last week and this week 12 million + it does not make sense. He has also never really done it at the top level on a regular basis.

He is only 21! Brendan has worked with him before, and he must know he is one for the future!

Red Lee

Welcome, Borini. Welcome to the LFC family. May you have a glorious LFC career. Wish you all the best. I take back all the rude things I said about you. Now that you're here I shall give you my full support.

SUMON VAI

To the "I'm sorry I'm not excited by this" poster ... I suppose you'd rather have Messi instead. Give the kid a chance he's not even signed yet. You pathetic supporter.

13 Jul 2012 09:15:33
Ed do you which clubs have an interest in signing andy carrol as I see that ac Milan are going back in for tevez by the looks of things. Do you think a swap with pato could be answer with some sort of agreement in wages.

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Fulham are likely to try and persuade CArroll that his future is in West London.}

He may go for that as he is in London very frequently visiting his bessy mate Nolan. Although when he leaves the north someone will have to replace him. The dodgems won't run themselves ;)

Disney!

Hi Ed 002 - So does that mean that the fulham swap deal involving dempsey is true? {Ed002's Note - Fulham are interested in Carroll and will seek to see if something can be done with Dempsey. Yorks has confirmed the Liverpool interest and has mentioned various matters concerning image rights and a couple of other things, so perhaps something could be worked out.}

Good luck to fullham pursauding a geordie that his future is down south

If we get rid of Andy Carroll then it's stupid ! And ya all think it's odd that Torres left!?
Andy is a keeper and hes grown to be à favourite of My son and what I have read from other posts there are many others that has him as their favourite!

13 Jul 2012 08:54:35
Any interest in Salomon Kalou or Junior Hoillet Eds?

Both are free agents, both better options than Downing and Maxi in my opinion.

Jack {Ed002's Note - Kalou has joined Lille. Reading, Spurs, Galatasaray, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany (Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich) and Marseille from France. I understand that Roma have dropped their interest after an offer of a pre-contract agreemnent was spurned. A move to Reading, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say Newcastle, one of the London clubs or foreign shores (Borussia Monchengladbach or Galatasaray) are the most likely destinations.}

You don't know your football, Maxi is ace, very clever player

13 Jul 2012 08:41:09
I know a few supporters will be like "not a chance" but would you take a punt on Owen coming back to Liverpool? Any opinions Eds? I know he played for Man Utd utd but for free and on no were near the money he used to be on, i think why not! {Ed002's Note - I would think it unlikely.}

He's finished as a footballer and is a traitor for joining the mancs

To be honest if he came back, i'd support him just the same as any other player who came in...

Most definitely - pay as you play deal, if nothing else an excellent impact sub, he still knows where the goal is - not the goalpost as most of our players did last season.

Yeah i agree. why not bring back owen, even if he was only a back up striker.. he is available for free, would jump at chance and would take a drop in wages to wot he was recently on. and add that he has always scored goals. id take him back

I would not want him back if he offerd to pay £100.000 a week to the club. Once a manc !!!

Not with Borini on his way in.Too similar in terms of playing style. Young Fabio reminds me very much of Michael in his pomp.

As a last resort I would take him.

We are hardly bursting at the seams with strikers and although injury prone he still knows where the net is.
So long as he is professional and agrees to some sort of pay as you play deal I would take him. Seriously doubt it will happen though as many people hated the way he left and hated even more that he went to Utd.

Why would any team want him. He was finished when he was about 27. Now he is useless and just a complete waste of wages.

Still think he would be a good shout, we would forgive and forget if he came off the bench to score the winner against the mancs this year would we not?

A "few supporters" ... hilarious. More like thousands of supporters.

Still think more supporters would take him back than not

No YOU would take him back, thousands of others waved goodbye to him years ago and rightly so, he's finished! Has been for ages.

Guys owen did more help for Liverpool at Macs, all he did was take there money and put them further in the hole. I would welcome him back, he was the first player my 9 year old self got attached to, fing mourned when he left. He cant help his mom was messing around.
Andrew

Ha ha owen id give my season ticket back even if he hadnt played for utd he is years past anywhere near his best

13 Jul 2012 08:06:58
morning ed's, its just after 8am uk time, please give us some good news regarding potential signings, do you have even the slightest crumb of intel to say we will be signing anyone today or over the weekend?
Thanks in advance
john {Ed002's Note - If a deal can be done for Borini I think it will be soon.}

Cheers ed002, i hope borini hapens very soon so we can move onto other targets

Cheers ed002, i hope borini hapens very soon so we can move onto other targets

Ed002 glad to see your comment last night, that BR probably regrets some things said in that press conference, when I had the nerve to say it wasn't the best the other day I got slaughtered on here. And I was just trying to be construtive not just having a go, so if I got that you must get it a 100 fold, so well done.
two quick questions if I may? due to where I currently am I am having real difficulties getting on a lot of web sites so has the interest in Krasic now completely died? and when does the squad fly out please?
RNred {Ed002's Note - I don't know if there is anything active in tems of Krasic right now but Juventus will be open to offers for Krasic and Joksimovic has been trying to get as many clubs as possible interested including Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs. He has had success with all three showing some level of interest but Liverpool have since changed manager. Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, West Ham, Villarreal, Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala have a confirmed interest in the player although I suspect Dortmund have dropped their interest. Marseille have said they would take him on loan but I doubt that would suit Juventus. Inter, Zenit and Fenerbahce strike me as the most likely destinations for him right now. I don't know the travel schedule.}

Ed002 for weeks you have been putting up the same cut and paste when asked about krasic just dont answer rather than waste peoples time im not asking the question but i have to read that same response thats just ignorance or a simple no nothing has changed.like that paste goes off the point of the question asked surely your being the same as these annoying posters if you keep putting up the same annoying answer {Ed002's Note - Can you point me to where the "same cut and paste" has ever been posted before? In terms of ignorance you have provided the perfect demonstration of it. Great job.}

You own another glifnard Ed. I always read these c&p entries as they are often different - and it is easy to see this one is. Thx for the update.

Dont be bashful you have some good things to say,put a tag on your post.(Make something up not your real name)

Bill (not my real name)

13 Jul 2012 06:26:36
Rumours in London is that Liverpool are in negotiation with Chealsea for the return of Nando ! AC Milan has enquired about Carroll , possibly for loan with the right to buy .. it's all depend on the Nando deal .. BR aparently does not think Nando's relationship with the fans have turned sour after he forced his move to Chelski ..BR is a professional .. Eds , can you confirm pls? {Ed029's Note - I can't see Torres ever coming back}

FFS, man! Fernando is gone! He's turned his back on the club, and YOU, as the fans. Forget him already. Some fans are like that annoying boyfriend who's girlfriend cheats on him, and yet you continue to want a relationship. Get over it, mate. There's plenty of other fish(strikers) in the sea.

I can't see this happening but it may not be too far from the realms of possibility could see Chelsea using the money to buy the hulk and we really need a marquee signing borini Dempsey and joe Allen are good players but with arsenal signing podolski and man u getting kagawa and Chelsea getting hazard and spurs looking to make good signings this club needs a lift

Would really love if there was a little truth to this, but Im afraid it seems wide of the mark. Can't see it, but hopefully. Carlsberg don't do prodical sons, but of they did......

Let go mate....he isn't welcome back, nor does he want to.

Tevez is going to A C Milan not Andy Carroll

AC Milan are on the cusp of receiving £65m for Zlatan and Tiago Silva. According to Sly Sports they're looking at Tevez but if they are interested in Carroll, we would be mad to let him go on loan, even if it with a view to a permanent move.

Hold out for as much as possible if we do decide to sell, no loans to West Ham or wherever as I still think our best option would be to keep him.

Obviously there's something going on behind the scenes with BR almost touting him out before he's even got back off his jollies. Looks like he's taking this 'total football' philosophy very seriously and isn't willing to take a chance that Andy Carroll could be used as a Plan B from the bench (diminishing his value for any future sale).

Whatever is going on, I hope it's sorted soon...In BR We Trust!

I cannot believe people still are not over fernando torres, its truly embarrassing.

Not welcome back - my backside, if he came back and pulled the red shirt on again, and walked on that pitch, every supporter without exception would be cheering him, anything that has gone before is forgotten - and that goes for any player.

Love how you sound really confident at the start and then ask the eds to confirm because you actually know that its all rubbish, almost as though it dawned on you as you were typing that you had fallen for it.. quality.

Do you think he means Torres from Crawley instead lol

First of all, Fernando called LFC a small club when he choose to leave and good riddence to him, I'm glad he's gone. Pathetic that fans want him back, what a bunch of cry babies, get over it and support the strikers we have now. Second that 'In BR We Trust' is a ridiculous joke! I bet the person was also saying, 'In Rafa we Trust' and then 'In Roy We Trust' and then 'In Kenny We Trust' ... trite moron.

FFS we are slagging of Torres, at least he did not go MAN UTD like owen!!
Torres is still world class and would fit into BR plans ....

Torres is on the up and if he did come back it would be great for us and even better for him , do not believe every thing you were told about him leaving on the last day etc

Owen left for Real Madrid because Rafa didn't want him and he was sold! What he did after that is his own concern. Second Michael has NEVER insulted Liverpool and called LFC a small club. He never openly sulked on the pitch like Fernando, he worked hard in every single game he played and scored tons of important goals. Unlike Fernando he never walked out on Liverpool he wanted to stay. Michael did more for LFC than Fernando ever did. Michael is a proper Anfield legend regardless of where he went afterwards. Fernando on the other hand insulted the club and it's fans by calling LFC small and then demanding a transfer when we needed him. Fernando is a self-serving petulant childish egotistical tit.

Would not loan anymore players to AC after the whole AQ saga fk em!

Torres showed his true colours when he left after calling us a small club! But what topped it for me was when I was told he did an interview in the Sun!! If your gonna mug us off, do it in a paper we'll read!

Please forget about torres that ship has sailed he is long past his past anyway and only worth 10 -15 mil

Michael Owen is class - get over it .... He was brilliant for us.

Carroll is staying. And I don't want the traitor back at our club. He disrespected us.

When are we going to sign someone?Every other club started photoshoot with their new signings.Tottenham and Chelsea did most of their signings without a manager.
Wat about us Eds...?? {Ed029's Note - I would expect us to conclude a deal any day now, with Borini looking likely}

Do you think it's better to start a managers job with players he might don't need nor they might not fit into his own ideas?

"do you think it's better to start a managers job with players he might don't need nor they might not fit into his own ideas?"

what the heck was all that?? that made no sense whatsoever. is he drunk?

lmfao

I agree, get the signings done early and integrate them into the squad over the summer, too much faffing around, but in the other hand if you're waiting for someone good then it's probably worth it. Lrt's just hope their good. Not too impressed with Liverpool's transfer activity so far

Just been reading the link from Liverpool echo about us showing interest in Schalke's Lewis Holtby and Julian Draxler. Not sure if reliable at all but what is your opinion on the two Eds? Would they fit in? Are they very good?

thanks
gareth {Ed029's Note - I don't know about Holtby (I think he is a playmaker) but I know that Draxler is expected to be one of the next big German players and has huge potential. They both seem to fit in with FSG transfer strategy but I'm not sure if it is true, I'll try to find out}

I think ED23 said yesterday it started on Twitter by a self confessed ITK. Try the search function Ed. Lol

Holtby is a fantastic player at times, great passing and movement and quite skillfull, his biggest negative is his lack of consistency, think of him as a player in the mould of Luis Garcia but not as weak.

These are exactly the type of player we should be signing, 16-19yrs old huge potential and will no doubt go up in value over time, we need to firstly plug the gaps in the academy players then obviously improve on what weve got already youthwise and voilá you don't need to go out and spend £20m on Downing for example when you signed a 17yr old 3yrs ago for quarter of that...

FSG are starting to deliver what they promised, fans mistakenly took John Henrys words out of context when he said they'd do whatever it takes, he wasnt talking about spending £400m on players ala Etihad, these guys are businessmen, successful ones at that...

Were on our way back, we'll surprise everyone this season....

Lewis Holtby grew up an everton fan so would he even want to play for us
LeeWils

He may have grown up an Everton fan, but so did Carra

It's odd, you know. These 2 names(Holtby & Draxler) just keep creeping up.

In's // Out's:

Fabio Borini // Craig Bellamy
Theo Walcott // Maxi Rodriguez
Gaston Ramirez // Joe Cole
Joe Allen // Charlie Adam and Alberto Aquilani.

// Dirk Kuyt and Fabio Aurelio.

If Andy Carroll goes to AC Milan expect Alexandre Pato to come the other way.
{Ed029's Note - I can't see Pato coming to Liverpool, Walcott lacks end product and I don't believe we have moved for Ramirez although we have scouted him (like we do with hundreds of players each year)

We're not getting Gaston Ramirez! Get that through your thick skull already! This isn't footy manager; it's real life!
-Cyse

Alberto aqulani is staying and joe cole and maybe maxi and bellamy aswell

Ed 022 has said we have made bologna aware of our interest. {Ed002's Note - Certainly he was watched by Liverpool but there has been no contact in terms of discussions with Bologna.}

Why cant people see that Pato is not the player he's made out to be?

Very, very average but would command a massive price.

If however, BR is definitely set on getting shut of Carroll then I wouldn't mind him using Pato as leverage (plus money coming our way).

Question eds why would respected uruguayan journos, come out and say lfc are close to signing ramirez? They wouldnt just repeat what ever someone posts on twitter, they are known to have good links with the uruguayan players, hope you can answer that or any other ed thanks.RedTurk {Ed002's Note - These were the ones who said he had signed the week before last or the ones who said he would sign by last Sunday? I have explained the situation with Ramirez on numerous occasions - you can hardly now expect me to explain why he didn't sign as Twitter said he would.}

Pato is a sick note. i'd take carroll any day of the week.

You can't see pato because we don't have an interest?

you can't see pato because he doesn't have an interest to join LFC?

you can't see pato because Milan don't want to sell?

because i think that we would be interested and he would be interested and Milan might want to do a deal where they make more money plus get their target. {Ed029's Note - This is just my opinion but I would say definitely the last two, I don't think he would want to join Liverpool nor would Milan want to sell him especially with Ibra on his way and Cassano getting on a bit. I don't know of any interest from us either but I am sure if we thought we could get him for a reasonable fee etc and he would want to come we would look at him.}

Oh yeah i hated walcotts end product in the euro :S talkin nonsense ... plus rodgers said he could teach him end product

We are a big club that can attract big players, what are you talking about Ed

According to the Echo an £11 million fee has been agreed for Borini. So he will sign subject to personal terms

Jay

Will be a good signining - Brother in law watched him several times last year (lives in Italy) and says he is good

13 jul 2012 00:29:17
its walcott . borini. dempsey. allen. outs maxi bellamy kuyt. aqua that all fokes. red.i.a.m.

Maxi is 50/50 read the mirror

Don't go Maxi! Rodgers desperate to persuade Rodriguez to stay and help with his Liverpool revolution

"I have known about Maxi for a long time. He is experienced, a very good player and he will understand 120 per cent about the way I want us to play," says the new boss

Walcott no chance {Ed016's Note - So where is the quote saying anything about the possibility of him leaving? Oh wait, I bet it's hard to find a true quote saying that.}

Borini is in now , and i can see dempsey, walcoot and allen coming aswell but is allen part of the deal that BR cant raid swansea for there players or is BR allowed to take a couple

Can I please end all these Carroll rumours. He WILL NOT be leaving on loan. He will still be a Liverpool player next season UNLESS we receive an offer of at least £20m. Only then would he be allowed to speak to any clubs....Officer Dibble.

What dya reckon Choo Choo, I'm not sure if Dibbs is on the up this time?

T.C.

Agree. We would gain nothing by loaning him. Either £15-20 million or he stays on the bench as a plan b.

If he does go surely it wont be a loan after the whole AC Millian Aqua thing and Juve doing the same. Im sure we have learnt our lesson here sale at a decent price or nothing. I'd personally rather keep him and have someone who's good in the air as look at Barca in champions league it was there downfall.

Right thats end of that speculation now you ve told us .....

Hey eds you haven't posted my last 2 so hopefully third time lucky. This is a very reliable website but is there any truth that alonso and 10M in and agger out to Madrid {Ed001's Note - nope.}

They didnt post it before because that rumour has been posted about 10 times already and it isnt gonna happen.

Red John

Do you see why the Eds HARDLY put your ru.. i mean bull**** the third time, 0 believable!

So has the rumor of Borini signing for us, yet you continue to post those regurgitated rumors.

12 Jul 2012 22:47:43
Direct from FSG website.....

Clint Dempsey could be heading to Anfield after all.

Various English and American sources claim Dempsey is close to a deal with Liverpool after the team's official site listed the American player on its roster before it was taken off.

Andy

For the last time it is from the rumour section

This was fake 2 days ago, it's still fake now.

ALRIGHT CALM DOWN I'm only posting something which i found interesting. Forgot people on here could discypher whether written text was real or not.
Andy

Fab deal: Liverpool agree £12m fee with Roma for Fabio Borini

The Italian international is set to become Brendan Rodgers first signing since he took over at Anfield

This way to Anfield! Fabio Borini is set to move to Liverpool

Liverpool have agreed a £12million fee to make Fabio Borini the first signing of new boss Brendan Rodgers' Anfield revolution.

The Italian is expected to complete the move by the weekend, after the deal was sealed when the English club offered Roma a swift profit on their investment in the young striker.

As reported that Carroll is likely to leave , if an appropriate offer comes, ED002 do you still think that Suarez will leave ? Just want your say. I for one say that if not 100% but Suarez's staying chances are 99.9%.Keep up the good work .

AJI {Ed005's Note - Suarez won't be leaving mate - he is negotiating a new contract and Brendan Rodgers has said that talks are going very well and Suarez is happy and wants to stay.}

As reported Carroll will leave?? Rodgers has said no such thing it's all media speculation

BR said he had spoken to LS on the phone and he 'hoped' he would sign a new contract. Nothing was said about negotiations ED005.

Glad to hear that Ed005! Although I understand some thing can change its great to hear that Suarez will be staying with us, hopefully to have a superb season too! (Which I think he will. He'll play better than last season, and I still think he played terrific!)

Sorry for poor grammar/structure, using my phone and predictive text is a pain in the ass.

Thanks, Ell. {Ed005's Note - No worries mate - I think in general the grammer here is awful at times, myself included lol.}

Macca is spot on about Dempsey, Borini and Allen. The fourth player I believe will depend who goes out. Rodgers has seen Robinson a few times and rates him highly so I don't think he will delve into the market for a LB but who knows. I think that the fourth player is Draxler.

Maxi is set to sign for Newells Old Boys, Bellamy personally I think will stay, Carroll is 5050, Spearing and one of Shelvey and Adam nailed on to go. Suarez, Skrtel, Reina, Agger are staying.

Luis

Shelvey has just signed a new contract, he'll be staying

Shelvey signed a new contract like yesterday? at least put in some effort..

Didn't Shelvey sign a new deal in the past week?

Shelvey just signed long term contract how is he nailed on to go

Shelvey signed a new long term conttact only a couple of days ago, so not a chance of him leaving permanently, possible loan though

Shelvey has just signed a new long term contract

Shelvey nailed on to go? After signing a new long term deal, I don't think so

Shelvey just signed long-term contract...You really have to laugh Ed's...Cheer's all,YNWA!!

Didn't Shelvey just sign a new contract yesterday? Do your homework before you post your opinions.

Shelvey just signed a long term deal so he would only go on loan which I don't think he will

You mean that bald lad who was on the official site signing a new contract, photographed with the manager's arm around him just the other day? Yeah, defo odds on to leave now.

And the other thing you've got wrong is that Maxi is more likely to stay than Bellamy. But do continue.

Shelvey has just recently signed a new contract, doubt he's leaving mate.

Shelvey just signed a new contract numbnuts

Alec

This post was quite interesting until you mentioned shelvey who has just signed a new contract!

So Shelvey signs a new contract, but will be sold straight away?! Great thinking mate

Thomas from Holland

You do know that Shelvey just signed a new contract right?

Between Adam and Shelvey, I'd rather keep Shelvey...anytime, any day. That boy's getting better and better each day. The new "Gerrard" is there under our noses...just give him playing time and he'll turn out good. For Adam in the other hand, I can't see him improving...sorry, but guess his time's up. -SoaringRed

Does anyone know if Shelvey signed a new contract? {Ed016's Note - yes}

Surely the original poster didnt need 10 people saying "shelvey signed a new contract"...two or three people would of done the trick

Anyone tell you Shelvey signed a new contract? Well, I'm the first to tell you...Shelvey has signed a new contract.... x

What a stupid post. ignoring the shelvey contract situation (adam won't be leaving either btw), you've attempted to sound knowledgeable by championing Macca, as if we needed your approval before we believe the always reliable Macca!

Contracts these days are not worth the paper they are signed on

Shelvey signed a new contract this week you dumb t**t.

Hopefully the Deals for Borini and Dempsey will be completed fairly soon. That gives us two extra attacking options and of course Dempsey's versatility means he can also play wide midfield. I still think we need a back up for Lucas, Allen could play along side him in a 4231 but don't see him as a back up DM. Any defensive midfielders on the radar Ed's? {Ed002's Note - Not that I can think of.}

Guess luis wont be using that signature again lol.... Street cred = 0 LMAO

Shelvey has signed a new contract matey! And we shouldn't be thinking about selling him. Shelvey had a few very good displays last season, and is really getting to grips with his role in midfield. He's the future for us. A quality young player with grit and determination. He's got shades of Steve in his game, we'll see the best from him within 2 possibly three years. Thx YNWA - redman4ever.

Ok we get that shelvey has signed a new contract but what he ment to say was either shelvey or adam was going to along with maxi not knowing that shelvey had signed a new deal.
Think borini is a great signing and would love to see us bring in Marco Reus from Dortmund(Even though i know it will never happen) {Ed002's Note - Reus has only just joined them - he is not moving to Liverpool.}

Hi eds, just wanted to know how serious, if at all, is our interest of ki seung-yong from celtic? i believe he is a top young player and very very two footed which is always handy :)

cheers {Ed005's Note - I'm sure Liverpool are looking at central midfielders mate but I would imagine they have other players on the agenda, higher quality players.}

Ha good one ed. after seeing the players linked with us I'd disagree.
