KK to stick Sterling on the bench tomorrow for experience, and a possible 10 minute cameo.

Very doubtful, it is a must win game so I'd imagine it will be a strong line up and a strong bench

Think that would be a bad mistake too soon and against a team as dirty as stoke

After just one days training with the first team?

He's not even in the match squad

Whats a cameo ffs haha

Good,lits see what the boy can do up against the big boys,scare em to death maybe !? :) {Ed016's Note - You know what, He would make a great impact player, what kenny wants. Last time he played him I just heard kenny screaming "RUN AT THEM RAHEEM" so think about the old sturdy stoke back 4...they get tired, especially on the wings, throw on Sterling for 15 or 20 minutes and if he gets a goal then all the fans will be happy, maybe happy enough to go throughout January without a signing....}

"what's a cameo ffs haha"
Actually mate a cameo means a short appearance so suggest you get a little education before you start criticising

Chris in Tamworth

How do you know he not even in the match day squad? I would be surprised if he did play but if i am honest he is just what we could possibly need at the end of the match someone with pace and some trickery to open games.

Jordan

I agree with the original poster and the ed, and the rest of you are a joke. Day after day i see people posting asking for a new winger or for the younger players to be given a chance. If we had signed a new winger, no matter how much we paid he would be at risk against stoke, as will our senior players.
Lets face it, stoker are solid at the back and difficult to play through, we.need a player.to run at them, a winger, if stirling does.well he could well be our best signing of january!!
Id agree with Dalglish 'RUN AT THEM RAHEEM'

Anfield Andy

How did you hear that ? What site ?

Brisc93 -

Sterling is quality and if your good enough then your old enough....

Doubt that personally.It does not sound like a good idea.

Stirling had a v good showing against Bolton reserves as did the Portuguese guy who's name escapes me from the bench. Having one of them on the bench at home is a slim risk at the end of the day they dont have to come on but if we are a couple of goals to the good all would benefit from a run out. Andy H Npton {Ed001's Note - Toni Silva is the Portugese lad you were trying to think of.}

Says his pet poodle...

Reading between the lines of all media output and quotes from people within lfc and other clubs I think we can surmise the following. Wilfred Zaha is being monitored and the palace manager has admitted that two respected premiership managers have asked to be informed of progress and movement with regard two of their players. The managers are rumoured to be Kenny Dalglish and Alex Ferguson.
There are a lot of young talents out there that everybody wants, namely Gotze, Eriksen, De Jong, Hazard etc. but the cost would be probably out of our bracket right now.
What most supposed fans on the web do not realise is that we have an outstanding crop of youngsters playing for Mike Marsh's academy team and the reserve team under Rodolpho Borrel, which is effectively last years academy team.
For those out there looking for exciting young talent to join us be aware that in Coady, Sterling, Dunn, Morgan, Hatch, Pelosi, McLaughlin, Ibe, Ngoo, Sama, Regan and Lussey to name but a few, we have the basis for a bright future.
Some people should try watching our reserve and academy teams rather than searching youtube for the best clips of foreign talent.
Mark

I'm pretty sure that most people are well aware of the crop of young talent Mark, but the fact is if they were ready for first team action they would be in the first team, don't forget how many bright young starlets who have been on the fringes over the past years that have not made it Pacheco, Anderson, El Zahr, Nemeth, do these names ring a bell, I would love if all the players you mentioned were to come through and fill our first team over the next few years but realistically it most likely wont happen, I hope I'm wrong!

Gman82

Brilliantly put and so true

Ur 99% right but you missed out the 1 nd only SUSO!!!

I understand that there have been many false dawns and you are right in what you say but I feel that the promotion of Rodolpho and his team to reserve level playing against many established names means we are following an established method that promotes style of play as well as talent. I apologise for missing Suso, he is a great talent. I think that the work that the academy coaches have done over the last few years and indeed the scouts have given us a better base than we have seen since the likes of Fowler, McMananman, Gerrard, Carragher breaking through. Our most important signing this year will be to keep Rodolpho although I am under the impression that he only signs a limited rolling contract. As much as Rafa was great for the club and some of the mistakes that he made in some of his signings towards the end, his legacy, apart from us owning our own european cup, could be the recruitment/returning of Rodolpho and Kenny.

Even if we get one quality player to come through id be happy, gerrad, carra, fowler, owen they all came through that academy, my money would be on coady being the one to make it

I also think that Jack Dunn is the brightest star of all. I really hope that he makes it, a great all round player.
Mark.

We all seem to forget that the most successful team of the last 20 years (sorry but yes i do mean scum utd!) was built on a team of players who came through the youth and reserve teams, with clever, but not always expensive signings. The best liverpool teams were also not always centred around big expensive signings, but more on the right signings. If KK thinks that some of the youngsters are good enough, andcan perform in the prem then why pay out large sums of cash for players who may, as has happen before, move on for cash, and glory!!Patience is needed, for KK to build, and make it happen.....city may win the title, but their long term plan has probably not even been thought of, and chelsea, well their crown is slipping, and the slide is on going!

Your spot on mate went to see them twice when they were on pre season over here (Ireland)

Muggitzo

Ya so true and even if one or two come through that would be great. The work being done at the academy is brilliant. Is Jordan Ibe joining in the Summer or this month? Also remember we have signed Seyi Ojo from MK Dons, exciting 15 year old tipped for great things by Dons boss Karl Robinson a.k.a Scouse Villas Boas!

Man City are investing a huge amount of money in their youth team with a massive training ground/facilities for the future, they are years behind us at the moment but that will change especially with the expanding of the availability of trapment areas meaning we can expand the search for youth development. The same applies to all of the top clubs but in the end good young players will drift towards the club that gives youth a chance.
Mark.

To the Irish post I saw those games and although born here in England one of the games was near my mother's home town. I used to have a Bray Wanderers top, green and white quarter sections, best amusement center near the ground, wen there every summer, was a very windy game but to be expected next to the sea.
The club will prevail.
Mark.

I also meant to mention the fact that KK like all great managers, know that the great teams are not always built with the greatest players, they are built on passion, understanding, and cosistantcy(excuse my spelling). Obviously we need another goalscorer, or a fox in the box. Andy Carrol will succeed, but perhaps not with Suarez, more with a player who can run onto his knockdowns. Against city he held the ball up, only to find no-one to pass to,and balls aimlessly knocked over the top are never going to suit him. he just isn`t that player....answer, maybe try Morgan.....or spend money and buy who???....Bent??Is he worth the money??Rhodes??How much do Huddersfield want?So ,do we spend or not?..Cheers. Pinhead.

Best post in a while mate. Nice one.
PDUK

Dont forget the likes of Kelly who has already made a successfull step up, with Flanigan and Robbinson there or thereabouts. Potentially 3 out of 4 off our future back 4 and all home grown lads. If we only added 1 or 2 more just think of the money that would have been saved.

Miss out the likes of wisdom belford silva peterson adjoran suso on the list

Yeah how could we forget Wisdom? He reminds me so much of Micah Richards.

In my opinion raheem is ready for the bench at least already. Of all the players you mentioned raheem stands out, looked different class against bolton reserves and would love to see him in the first team very soon.

The Merry Pippin

The other positive to home grown players is, if they dont make it into the first team then they can be moved on for a slight profit. What i would like to see is a couple of younger players on loan to lesser prem teams rather than just championship sides as i think that they would benefit from the experience in the prem.

The guy that asked about Ibe a few posts up, he joined and played against Crewe last week. He looked alright, clearly not settled yet but started to see a few good moments from him.

I hate to disagree but some of our highly rated youngsters to me look a little average. I really do hate to say it, but when you're looking at the top players for most of them it was obvious in their late teens that they had something and they were starting to push to the first team.

Most of the players mentioned will probably fall away to lower division teams, but that's the same at every club. We just have to hope one or two come through and in fairness some of our promising lads still have a few years.

Personally I think Sterling is the obvious one who might make it, and I also see something in Baio although it could just be his enthusiasm that I like.

I wish them all good luck and I hope that didn't sound too negative just realistic.

It's right that most of them will not turn out for us and also a benefit would be to loan them out to premiership clubs as that has worked with some players, Wilshere, Cleverly and Ramsey I think but not sure. Some players do make a great impact in their teenage years like Fowler and Owen but the premiership is different now and young talent is very rare to break through without experience. Wisdom is also very good I admit though comparisons to Richards can only be made if he makes the break through. The point I was trying to make was that we have a lot of talent at the club but we need patience. We can hope to win the title now but the owners and manager and all of the coaches know what they are doing. The first team squad of Spurs and the manchester teams are above us right now although we can make any of those teams look ordinairy on the day. We need to plan for the next five or ten years which is what I believe the owners , manager, coaches and scouts are doing. Like the saying goes "You can't buy our history", if we do not get the instant trophies most people desire now and they are not happy then they shouldn't support our club. Liverpool is for life not for the moment.
Mark.

Brilliant read guys!
Monks

Apologies Mark, I wasn't trying to take away from your point about the talent, our lads are as good as any other bunch in the league but they just seem to be overhyped at times. But considering the coaching staff at the academy we have every chance of bringing through some top players and I can see things improving a lot over the next few years.

You're right about the loans, in the past we've been sending youngsters to silly places but sadly I think that says as much about their actual quality as the clubs decision making. I think Kenny is on the ball with this now though.

No offence to kelly and the two young lads at fullback but I can't wait to see some more attacking talent come from the youth setup. I had dearly hoped pacheco would do it but that doesn't seem likely now.

It's like the youth development had stalled but is slowly starting up again, there are signs of good things to come and I'm looking forward to it.

Great post and some great points raised but after spending a serious amount of money in the last year if we fail to get 4th spot I think we can all agree it's a massive disappointment. We are now left with the decision do we spend some more and go all out? (not Hazard or the likes but realistic targets) or can we wait a few years and lose more potential income from Champion's League waiting on these youngsters that might be good enough.
It's tough to balance and only KK and FSG can make that decision. I still think we need another striker with experience this window.

I watch a fair bit of the Youth and reserve games and agree there are some promising youngsters but I know that very few will actually make the grade, it takes more than just the skill.
I agree we do need a new striker s.a.p. but, despite being a fan of Andy 18 months ago I cannot see where he held the ball up well last week and at the moment I am far from convinced that he is ever going to fulfill his potential.
With regard to the Manutd youngsters that saved Fergies bacon , how lucky was he to move to club that had all that talent left to him by his predecessor.

That lost comment about Fergie is complete rubbish obviously. Grow up.

Some Liverpool fans are obsessed with Man U (and make up silly statements about them for some reason). Pathetic really. Utd fans must have a right laugh reading that.

But I do agree that the vast majority of the youth side/reserves will not make the grade. That is also obvious.

Considering Pacheco was lauded as some kind of God, what hope is there for the rest? Many of the current crop look very ordinary imo.

That three have broken through is great (Kelly, Flanno, Robbo) - another 3-4 would be amazing.

Suso, Sterling, Coady and perhaps Morgan seem like the frontrunners (Morgans instincts are Fowler-esque, I love how he strikes the ball early) are the only ones that stand out for me, but whether they will make it is another matter.

Hopefully Kenny won't do a Rafa and destroy our best hopes. I recall that Hobbs, Nemeth and Dalle Valle (remember him) were touted as superstars too. What about Jordy Brouwer?

Lots of the current crop will never make it. But aside from the four best prospects I named, maybe someone could surprise us and improve drastically over the next year or two (Silva, Wisdom, Smith, Ngoo, Adorjan, Pelosi, Sama - who knows?).

Haven't seen Ibe yet, but signings such as him, Sterling, Shelvey, Wilson and Coates will all prove inspired in the future imo. Talk of splashing cash on the likes of Zaha, Coutinho, Castaignis is also very encouraging.

It's great that the owners are investing in the best youths.

Overall, without exaggerating (you'd swear we were Ajax in '94 listening to some people) - the future does look bright. But as the saying goes.

Calm down, calm down.

It may be 2-3 years (or more in some cases) before these lads break through as regulars (if they do at all. Don't expect too much too soon.

BJH YNWA.

I forgot about poor wee Jay too, sorry about that. He certainly has proved value for (no) money.

Hi Ed's

Have you got any information in regards to Maxi? He was left out of the carling cup squad and he is not on any of the training photo's today. Is he on his way out?

GJ {Ed001's Note - he has always known he can leave if he finds the right move, but I have not heard of anything close, he was most likely just rested. }

Good, I hope to see him play against Stoke tomorrow. GJ

I realise he is 29, but it seems crazy to let him move on, especially when he combines so well with suarez when they play together.

Steve

The ed must be crazy to suggest he is free to move. He is one of our best players on current form which now stresses for close to 10 months now. He gives a great option in our pass and move philosophy. He is a team man, and is clearly enjoying his football, knowing he ll nt get any more action elsewhere than here, due to his importance in our play,he doesn stake a claim for the argentina XI and hence doesn demand playing every game, he is happier playing 3 in 5 games as it gives him enough rest between games to give his all in the game he plays in. This is an excellent strategy that allows us to rotate squad according to the opposition. I dont see him being sold now, until we qualify for champions league when we ll start attracting stars and thats when we ll have far better players than even him. At present, he is one of our best, he is not moving and its common sense. Lets put his future to bed now.
This is a logical observation. And if I am found to be wrong, then KK seriously is biased, its his english favouritism. Which I am sure he is not. So he wont move. Period

Hi Guys, Love the site. I dont post often unless I have a real rumour.......not some pipe dream.
Mate of mine works admin at LFC. She told me that Chamakh will be the suprise of Jan transfere market.
Comolli has time for him, must be a French thing. Anyway thats the news I got.

Razorred

Thought you didn't post rubbish

He's morrocan

I hope not

What's french got to do with a Moroccan?

Why would we be interested in a bad fauxhawk looking freak who can't score goals. Answer we aren't

Not backing the guy up but he is a French born Moroccan, but having said that the post is bogus

Hope this is even more untrue than the Bent rumour was.

Haha would love to see the original poster justify this rubbish

Mate if you dont know what france has to do with morocco then you need to brush up ion your history.

tommy c

He's in Africa at the moment!? Fat lot of good that will do us over the next few weeks.

Comolli has time for him ? ahhhh so KD doesnt get a say in it then lolllll

No-one in admin at LFC would know this. The players don't know our transfer targets, bar possibly Gerrard and Carragher, so why would someone who does the filing and photocopying be getting inside information on transfers. Make us a cup of tea and by the way, we're signing Iniesta

I think this guy is a Gunner!

Liverpool is considering to snap up serbia's hottest prospect, 17 year old Lazar Markovic for 5 - 7 mill.
Chelsea had been favourites to land Markovic after the Partizan Belgrade forward talked-up ambitions of joining Andre Villas-Boas' men when he became aware of their interest. However, Liverpool have jumped ahead of their Premiership rivals in hope of tying up a deal for the 17 year-old in the January transfer window. Sources in Serbia claim Markovic's representatives have already met with Anfield officials to discuss a potential move.

Having already broken into the Serbia Under-21 squad experts are tipping the hot prospect to become a full international by the end of the year. His raw pace, exceptional skill, direct approach and goalscoring ability have seen Markovic likened to a young Michael Owen. YOU HEARD THIS FIRST

We didn't hear this here first it's been doing the rounds the past 2 weeks

I said Markovic would be a Liverpool target yesterday, hopefully LFC beat chelsea to his signiture.

What does "YOU HEARD THIS FIRST" mean?

YOU HEARD THIS FIRST

Its been on koptalk for two weeks now!

Hey ed some french papers today are saying Lille's determination to kepp Joe Cole on a permanent basis could see Sow heading to Liverpool, do you think this could be an option either now or in the summer ?

cheers {Ed001's Note - yes, that is why I said a few days ago Sow is looking the most likely striker signing.}

Would be a really good signing for January but probably more likely in summer cus of the ACON

Square tomato {Ed001's Note - exactly, the ACON + the summer Euros has almost completely destroyed the transfer market this January.}

In that case Ed, do you expect LFC to move for him in January?

Cheers,

LG. {Ed001's Note - not in Jan, no, but in the summer I think it is a very real possibility.}

Well ed, who in your opinion is a better player, sow or de Jong?
John h {Ed001's Note - not sure, not seen much of Sow.}

According to Wikipedia (I know not particulary realiable) Sow has signed for Fenbache in Turkey

Ed 001, was your initial response to the post sarcastic or for real..is there a chance? {Ed005's Note - He was being serious. He believes Sow is the most likely striker signing however he doesn't necessarily mean this January.}

Why are Lille so mad to sell him? They accepted an 8.3m offer from Fenerbache

Suarez to Real - 35 mil a welcome lifeline for the player who has become increasing more unsettled in recent weeks.

He is not unsettled, He is going no where

MJ

Oh you are the greatest! thank you so much for letting us know, where would we be without your knowledge!! couldn't thank you more.

No name! no source! where did you here about this rumour?vWHere is your evidence to suggest he is unsettled as the word from Suarez is that he wants to fire Liverpool to trophy.

Go on on your way back to the Manc forum you are not wanted here.

Steve068

What nonsense his last was "can't wait to get back and Help lfc win a trophy "

I think I can smell envy in this post!
K79

Go home you dont know what ur talkin about seriously they cancelled the offers and he is not going any where

You muppet,go back to the everton page!

Steve068...in fairness, little or no rumours get posted here with any direct source. Secondly, what rumours get posted here with evidence ? Thirdly, whilst Suarez may say he wants to stay and wins trophies etc., have you ever considered that the Club and/or owners may want him out and take the e35m to invest. They may wish to prevent any further incidents involving Suarez that could damage the club further or affect the team. After all, no player is bigger than the club no matter how good they are and Suarez is world class. So that person's post is no less realistic than some of the rubbish we read here every day

£35m - I don't think so mate, more like £50m. We are talking about a world class player here. He won't leave anyway mind.

NO HOPE!!

At steve 068 Y would the management team defend him so much publicly if they want him out?
YNWA manc

There are 3 team will be ready to pay £50 in summer why rush with him ?

Good % have hit agree tho??

As if Mourinhos statement that there would be no ins or out at real this window was not enough, then there was Suarez himself saying that he cant wait to get back and help the team make the top 4 and win a trophy. This guy really is a man crettin!

I think its true i mean hesjust been silly and he evean shoot. i think 35 million is t much.

13 Jan 2012 16:56:55
Ed liverpool will sign wilfred zaha when crystal palace get knocked out of the carling cup or win until then we will be watching him alot !

Did you guys never listen to the Eds about Zaha...We were not impressed so this is just a bad rumour doing the rounds for about the 5th time...WE DONT WANT ZAHA AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

MJ

If they get through the final is in february goodone!

13 Jan 2012 16:21:03
Is true Liverpool are after zaha again?

Hope not!!

I hope so :)
J-lk

Hes got average written all over him

Thought he wasn't good enough no end product

13 Jan 2012 16:17:10
Esteban Granero's agent confirms Liverpool's interest: 'He's been keen for a move away - possibly Liverpool'. But his agent dismissed any interest from Arsenal.

13 jan 2012 15:44:21
if real madrid do put in a bid for suarez, it must be £40m or £30-£35 mil + callejon

Because his excitement, ability, work ethic etc in one player cannot be replaced they would have to pay £70m so would could make large bids for Lucas Moura and Leandro Damiao.

13 Jan 2012 16:05:01
hi eds n fellow reds
if as kenny says is true, an he doesnt need to go out and spend, then surely it makes sense to approach tottenham or another big club 2 enquire over the possible loan deal of a player like defoe,it surely makes sense 4 both sides, hes not playing as regular as he wants with the euros coming up n they dont seem 2 need him at present, And we certainly need a goal scorer asap.....thoughts......

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

Dont see why arry should loan you jd, jd is and will be needed at some time during the comming months

No way would Spurs loan Defoe to another top team, especially one they still have to play.

Defoe would be a good signing as you said he isnt playing and is full of goals what more do we need

If you sign a player on loan then he can't play against the team he is loaned out from, I.e he can't play against spurs
J-lk

Heey man
I personally dont think King Kenny would talk to The s*n, where ive read the rumour about he doesnt want to buy a player..... {Ed016's Note - its on the official website}

Tottenham would be dumb to sell/loan any player to a club they are challenging for a champions league place with so its unlikely the do business with us... i say that if we make any moves its going to be for a player that hasnt been mentioned on any social media outlet.

Why dont liverpool go after jelivic at rangers , would get him for 8 mill because andy carrol is never a 35 million player in his life, jelivic would score the goals that you are missing .

13 Jan 2012 15:34:53
Ed do you think that we might bid for shaquri? {Ed002's Note - If Shaqiri were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. I am also sure if he were to become available then Arsenal would also be interested, but it is tough to see him leaving a team he has been with since he was a young child during their Champions League run. Perhaps the summer is a better option.}

13 Jan 2012 15:33:15
Hi eds+macca
So macca says we are signing a player from inter, obviously your not gonna name the player but what sort of date do you think he'll sign? Is it imminent or are we looking at a deadline day transfer?

WillLFC {Ed002's Note - We have no idea about dates.}

I guess it all depends on the tevez deal thats why Macca said " if nothing goes wrong ' :) {Ed016's Note - Tevez was going to AC Milan.}

13 Jan 2012 15:30:50
hey ed

is there any truth that liverpool contacted crystal palace over wilfred zaha

cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't know myself, sorry.}

13 Jan 2012 15:26:59
eds, any news on Nathan Redmond? Could be a top player {Ed002's Note - None.}

13 Jan 2012 14:55:19
its seems the torres back to liverpool rumour has died down, ed would u be shocked if with a few hours left to go in the window it all got re egnited? {Ed002's Note - The fans may well whip themselves back in to a frenzy.}

Torres will not come back, nor is he wanted back. People need to get over it and move on

I agree that he is not wanted back but stranger things have happened , buying andy carrol for 35mil when we could have got him for 1 mil a year earlier has to be up there,

Why would we want torres back when he is playing as poorly as he is

Torres only playing badly cause chelsea have not made a team play around him like liverpooll did, and chelsea have not got gerrard to supply him

I'm pretty sure Torres rumours will always fly around until he leaves the country, or even retires. Then maybe rumours of a shock come back? Pathetic...

Torres not wanted back? speak for yourself. torres returning to lfc would be a blessing. God knows caroll has zero talent. torres performed for us. we need him badly. suarez wont hang around forever waiting for lfc to fire.

Torres broke a lot of liverpool fans hearts by leaving but trust me all would be forgiven if he scored the winning goal in the last game of the season that got us in to the champions league.

13 Jan 2012 14:46:09
take my pato rumour as you will,Iv'e not stated that we have bid for him.
all iv'e stated is that milan wanted rid of him,how would you feel knowing that your team wants rid of you?

Pato's agent will talk to us,Pato will talk to Lucas again.
Lucas will talk again to Dalglish,who in turn will talk to comolli and jwh.

These talks will happen,but the end result lays with pato.

but if it comes off.

pato+suarez+gerrard= title {Ed002's Note - Liverpool do not have the money available for buying the likes of Pato.}

I think you will find that FSG, if they deem the player to be of significant benefit to the team, will make money available. The only people who know how much is available for transfer are JH, KD and possibly DC. We are back in the Robinson-era, where nobody knows anything until business is done. Which is a tremendous achievement in the age of the internet. {Ed002's Note - Keep dreaming about the money.}

Pato+Suarez+Gerrard=Title? Thats only 3 players. I may sound old fashioned saying this but I prefer to have eleven players in my team.

But we have the money to buy the likes of carroll for £35million. u are wrong my friend {Ed002's Note - The money for Carroll came from teh sale of Torres - and it has been spent.}

Ed fsg are a company that have many members,allof them are multi millionaires...and quite a few are billionaires,they pool their money together to invest to seek other ways to create money.
their money they invest in baseball will be nothing to what they will invest in football {Ed002's Note - You are living in a complete fantasy world.}

Ed002, I usually take what you say as correct but FSG have 3 sports teams and have invested heavily in all 3. All 3 sports teams make a considerable amount of money each year. To say that FSG do not have the money to buy Pato is incorrect as I'm pretty sure you do not know yourself how much FSG have to spend in terms of investment in their franchise. {Ed002's Note - You have little or no grasp of the finances of football. Sorry. Liverpool are losing significant amounts of money - that tab is being picked up by FSG. Any new stadium will require a very significant debt to be raised against the club. There is not the money to buy these fantasy players - or why do you think the talk has changed to the odd kid from Inter Milan or the likes of a Crystal Palace winger - or does Dalglish prefer Zaha over Hazard?}

Milan had done a deal for 22 million with PSG.
Very injury prone though.

Ed could you explain the fund situation? I wasn't aware there was a clear understanding of how much FSG would be willing to spend. {Ed002's Note - There is a clear understanding that they will provide certain levels of financial support in terms of minor chnages to the squad to cover injuries and players leaving where there is no cover in the existing squad, and any obvious short comings. There is not and never has been the money available to add the likes of Cavani an Hazard and Goetze without raising that money from elsewhere. If players are sold then no doubt there will be replacements. FSG have already re-invested the money from sales and have committed additional money to support the clearing out of the players who did not have a future at the club. They are also picking up the tab on the losses. There is no bottomless pit of money.}

Ed what are you on about liverpool dont have the money to buy pato if they can buy andy carroll for £35m then they can buy pato your going on about like his £50m {Ed002's Note - The money for Carroll came from money from selling Torres. As I did say previously, if Suarez is sold expect a "big" name signing.}

You are simply a chelski supporter {Ed002's Note - Your point being what? Are you claiming that the money for Carroll came from elsewhere?}

Ed002, I think you're being rather rude with what you say. I'm not trying to belittle you or say you're 100% wrong. As I said, I usually believe what you're saying but you're making Liverpool out to be some sort of Wigan who never gets a full house and has no support from outside of the city.

I understand you have frustrations due to some of the idiotic people on here assuming we have a bottomless pit of money or some magic pool which Kenny and Damien can use black magic to summon the money required but I know that's not the case, so I'd be grateful if you didn't talk to me like a child. I was simply questioning your knowledge of the club and FSG's wealth.

It's well documented that Kenny prefers home grown players and players who have played in the Premier League so maybe that is the case... That Dalglish prefers Zaha over Hazard.

FSG is a £3billion company, they're good businessmen who know what they're doing. And the stadium would cost a lot of money, and that is why I believe Pato won't arrive, nor will any other player who's touted as one of the best in his position. So please... Go on the pill or something because I can smell the menstruation from here.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about or how you have drawn these bizarre conclusions but I will try and respond.

Firstly I am not being rude, I am simply explaining (yet again) that Liverpool are simply not in a position to be buying the likes of Cavani at this time. Nobody has mentioned anything about Wigan, how full the stadium gets and support from in or out of the city – perhaps you cut and pasted that information from another post.

The rest of you post seems to be rambling and your inability to grasp basic investment principles. As to how you have come to figure out that there was a choice between a new stadium and Pato, a player the club have zero interest in, is well beyond my comprehension. So regardless of the money available you have also decided that Dalglish prefers Zaha over Hazard – good luck to him.

As for your last sentence I find that really pretty foul and no doubt many others will as well. Perhaps your school friends will be impressed.}

Some of you are clueless, truely I'm
No football expert but owners never pour money in. It's buisness they want to see a return, if someone said to you give me 10 grand and there is a 1/100 chance you'll get 20 grand back would you?! There is no guarantee in football, just because you buy a 50m pound player who's to say he wouldn't get injured tommorrow? Then your 50 m in debt with nothing gained, our owners don't have oil they have a buisness something they can lose if they are not carefull... If we make top 4 expect a small contribution towards players from
The summer. Based on extra money coming in for champs league, and sales of players obv,
Lfcmatt

No mate, just wish you weren't telling the truth. then again abromovich can go f himself

I think Pato can happen if we offload Carroll, but I suspect we have not received sufficient bids for Carroll. No doubt Pato fits the profile that FSG like - young, marketable, etc. {Ed002's Note - Have Liverpool been trying to sell Carroll? And certainly there has been no move for Pato from Liverpool.}

Ed we actually do have the money for pato - 33m - funds r definitely available as long as if the player is young n good - n pato sure is good n worth it {Ed002's Note - You are making it up and there has been no interest in Pato. I would be astounded if Liverpool were to add another £33M loss to this year's accounts as well. As I said before, if the club qualify for the Champions League then you might see moves for such players, but for that to happen now it will mean that the money has to be raised through sales - and that likely means Suarez.}

Ed002 you are beating you head off the wall, everyone thinks John Henry is the Sheik, of course what you say is correct and what you say is true but its not popular.

No, I have no reason to believe that we are trying to sell Carroll, nor am I suggesting that we have moved for Pato.

My point is that, given that we are runnning at a loss, we can afford to buy a player such as Pato by first selling players. And given sufficiently high bids, I believe we will sell any player, with the exception of Gerrard, and possibly Reina. This is for the simple reason that none of the others have demonstrated that they are indispensable.

Obviously, I do not know what the acceptable figure is for Carroll. But the "Carroll is for the future and we will never sell him" position is, in my opinion, as groundless as the "we are buying Neymar" announcements.

Thats the damn problem! no money available!! ppl say money and spending doesnt = success in football. it does!! chelsea and now city r fine examples. if you buy the best players out there you win trophies and challenge the big teams, and if you dont then you stay where u are. simple!! we are struggling for 4th for Gods sake!! we are LFC, this shouldnt be happening.
And before you say, i know chelsea are struggling too but look what they have won since roman took over

People, the ED is just speaking out his/her mind!!. We all know that the ed's or nobody knows a damn thing!!. The only person fit enough to say LFC dont have any money is an official of LFC. The Ed's arent even ANYWHERE near that and neither are we!!.
Hence the ED's can blabber that we dont have money and we can think that we do have all the money.

To be honest, the ed's claim to know a pretty much deal about running of business in LFC but they are in no position whatsoever to actually claim to know it because they arent in anyway part of the official LFC board or something... {Ed016's Note - you know how to sit on a fence sir.

And the reason they want him out is because he's using up too many funds on bandages and medical supplies...

Hey Eds..
Have u seen Dalglish, saying today on our 'favorite' sports tv station's website, that funds are available if he needs them, but he isn't going to spend as he is happy with what the lads have done so far..
Am I missing something here?

You then mancini with probably the best squad in the league oppenly looking to add to that to strengthen, as he isn't resting on his laurels, you then have Tottenham openly looking at adding with arry saying who he wants, same with chelski..no doubt arsenal, man u and even Newcastle (who are just 1 point behind us) will strengthen...

Yet us in 6th are happy to stick with what we have? Does that smell of mediocrity, or is it just me? (Personally I think when we do finish 6th he will use the whole we should of, but didn't strengthen in Jan excuse) I'm far from negative in everyday life but with this situation, I don't see any positives...

What do u reckon to it all eds? {Ed002's Note - There is no way that these funds are vast amounts of money, and there is no way that money will be spent just to appease the fans. If a player is available at the right price who will improve the squad, I am sure he will be looked at. I have tried to explain before that we would not be seeing a spending spree this month.}

I absolutely appreciate that ed, it concerns me are desperate for strengthening, without going into particulars of positions and why, as its been done to death but with all other teams strengthening around us, it just concerns me that we will be left behind..fingers crossed I'm wrong, and I will happily look stupid

Cheers

Ray {Ed002's Note - Liverpool spent a lot of money in the summer and added a number of new players. I have tried to explain what would likely be happening in January for months but sadly many folks cannot accept that Cavani, Hazard and Goezte are simply not an option.}

Newcastle are doing well ( the definition of punching above ones weight.) but they are Skint. They will not be improving their team drastically. In fact i personally believe that Pardew will be relieved if he gets to the end of the transfer window with his squad intact ( he will be doing well to keep 2 of Krull. Ba, Tiotte and Cabie )

Why would Daglish admit to wanting to sign players? If he does, any club selling a player that is approached by LFC will increase the asking price. Fair play to Kenny.

I'm with you, with regards dream team names, I'm not deluded, and I understand we have spent in the summer, but so have the teams around us, and all them are looking to re-strengthen again..I hope Kenny is playing games but all the other managers have laid their cards out and said yes, we are strengthening/we need to strengthen...if are players from the summer had all hit the ground running, I'd feel more confident, they haven't, even before Suarez's ban we struggled to score, now he has gone..who knows? Not to mention the other areas..like I said, if my feelings are wrong, I will happily take that, I just don't want to see everyone around us strengthen and then push on and we get left behind, so to speak...

Get back on your fifa 12 . you should instead get behind what we have they are a new team and will only get better

Im fully support your comment. if january didnt hav any star to come especially Striker, we will not at the top 4 of EPL. Newcastle was chasing us.

Support your team and stop moaning about manager

I cease to believe lfc is losing a lot of money..they cleared out a lot of salaries last summer and have ceased paying the loan interest from the hicks era..any stadium will be built from sale of rights and long term loan finance..lfc has money

FIFA 12? What you going on about? Muppet! Stop moaning about my manager? I take it you didn't have anything to say when Roy was in charge, or Benitez's last days..I went with a feeling in my gut, and sorry for not being blinded by the YNWA initials, and using my own brain to think about things..I hate utd fans, didn't realise there were some idiots amongst us aswell..

I wouldn't worry. The 'agrees' v 'disagrees' speak for themselves.

BJH YNWA.

All we need is 2 or 3 signings..even for the summer..all the overpriced players will come good..i jus hav this feeling!

Im sure we will add players as we are not yet in the top 4 where we NEED TO be - KD is just saying this as a smokescreen just as I would do when i do want to buy something- last thing you want the sellers to know is that YOU HAVE FIRM INTEREST in their goods(players) as this leads to then keeping their prices high- when you make it clear that you dont have much interest then they tend to run to YOU for the sale on YOUR terms - any smart wheeler and dealer knows this.
Wake up People!

Wow, so fergie, avb, redknapp, and Wenger (of the top managers) who have openly come out said they are looking at buying, some suggesting names and some suggesting positions and some suggesting both..they all need to wake up do they? All them are wrong and Kenny is right, hmm ok..(not to mention Kenny has spoke about his transfer interest/activity last Jan and in the summer) did he need to "wake up" then, when he did this?..

13 Jan 2012 14:21:12
ed afta kennys comments do u still think the deal for the inter player will happen? {Ed005's Note - Kenny won't come out and tell us if he wants players will he?}

In the past windows he has (not by name but when speculation has been about he has let on that stuff is happening)

KK comments are a bit ambiguos not giving anything away. Ther will be 1 or 2 new faces and they are most probarbly youngsters such as couthino and dimoae (spelling).I just love KK is back at LFC.
Cheers, all the way from South Africa
AWS

Harry Redknapp did {Ed001's Note - no, Redknapp talks utter nonsense, he says nothing will happen, 2 minutes later VDV has signed for Spurs.}

Thats just 1 example

SSN.
Galatasaray have launched a bid to land Swiss sensation Xherdan Shaqiri.
A host of clubs are chasing the Basel winger, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Porto all linked in recent weeks.
But Turkish giants Galatasaray have made the opening move and lodged a 10million offer.
While Basel are not contemplating accepting, the player has admitted he would welcome the chance to move to Istanbul.
"It is now contact, we have received an offer from Istanbul," Basel president Bernhard Heusler confirmed from the Swiss side's winter training camp in Andalucia.
"We have taken note, but this does not mean it is a basis for negotiation.
we are currently not willing to sell Shaqiri."
Sporting director George Heitz also insisted that they were not looking to sell - insisting there was interest from Germany and Britain.
Of course you never know what might happen, I am asked about three or four of our players.
Clubs from Germany, Britain and Eastern Europe are asking and we have had offers. But we are in the next round of the Champions League and that is our main aim at the moment."

WHY NOT WE MAKE A BID OF £15M THAT MAY ACCEPT AS BASEL SAY YOU NEVER KNOW.

Why would he want to go to gala, there are plenty of big teams looking at him {Ed002's Note - Wages will be much better.}

Because there will be a chance to buy or promote a better player than him, one that scores regular.

13 Jan 2012 13:37:00
Liverpool will sign nobody in January, Kenny happy with squad

I do not believe he is happy with the squad but possibly no money is available or no players that fit the bill and are affordable.

I'm not trying to argue, more start a discussion....

He can't really be 'happy' can he? We've lost lucas and now jay although he doesn't seem to have a serious problem. Also charlie adam has definitely lost a bit of form.

It seems obvious kenny doesn't fancy a 4-4-2 with the current squad and the lack of lucas. He seems to only want either charlie or gerrard in centre mid, not both and likes to play 2 centre mids around them with legs to make up for their lack of mobility. That leaves only henderson at the minute.

Shelvey looks to be classed along with gerrard and adam as being less disciplined defensively or not a hard runner.

Therefore I can see us adding another defensive midfielder at some stage, maybe not until the summer. I'd be great if the ghanian kid turned out to be that sort of energetic essien/tiote type but I know nothing about him.I like Biao from the u18's he might turn out to be a good makelele type in the future.

How strange.... lucas being such an important player. Good for him though he deserves it, always worked hard and never let it get to him.

I can see what your saying however i think that a defensive midfielder would be behind in the pecking order to a striker and a right winger, a creative right winger with Gerrards arrival back in to the team and a striker who can finish would resolve our problem of an appauling games to goal return which in my opinion is the only reason were not already in the top 4. I just cant see much being done at the moment as dont believe we are willing to spend major money and dont want to spend money on a part time solution unless we can sort some form of loan deal! Things may be done in the summer but i hope its not too late as no champions league football may not attract the bigger names!

If we did bring someone else into the centremid position the obvious thing, if not ideal, may be to shift gerrard to the right.

It also works in terms of getting the donkey some crosses.

Has nobody thought that kenny wants to do business the "liverpool way" he will never turn round and openly admit interest in a player as this would alert other teams and also push up the price of a player just wait until 1st feb and see who we have got and watch out for more and more sarcastic comments in press conferences from the king himself

Hi Eds. SSN reporting that Galatasary have made a €10 mill bid for Xherdan Shaquiri. Do you think this might force KK to make a move after it has been well reported we have shown an interest?

Mark from Selby {Ed005's Note - That's just a bid. A bid does not automatically lead to it being accepted etc.}

I've heard that the rumours of newcastle getting andy back are actually true,the reason that we denied it is because of the price.

Liverpool would be willing to take a loss of £10 million for him but won't take a bigger loss.

the reason why they will sell is because they are looking at pato,who sensationally pulled out of a transfer yesterday because his agent has been keeping liverpool informed of the situation.

Pato was best man for lucas when he got married,and lucas chats regularly with him,and told him about the project going on at anfield and advised his mate to at least instigate talks with the clubs.

these will happen within the next three days or so

Haha Brilliant

WirralRed

HAHHAHAHHAHHAHHA

This one gave me a laugh...cheers mate.

RobbehLFC

P.S) If that did happen I would be very happy though.

LMAO HAHAAH

Why would we be looking to sell a striker, more likely Dirk to go then Andy in what really has been a dozen games played.

Pato I very much doubt.

He,s a boss gooser in Italy “ should be fun with the UK press

Hope so, but i doubt it.

Utter trash

Nonsense!!

Would be good if true but i feel its just more trash talk

The main reason being reported for Pato not going to PSG is that he doesn't want to leave Milan (the city rather than the club specifically). His partner is Belursconi's daughter, so if he doesn't want to go, he will no doubt be accommodated. Can't see Liverpool being preferable to Paris as a place for them to raise their family!

Reasons why Pato won't sign for Liverpool;

1) We cannot offer the wages other interested clubs such as Chelsea and PSG can. Not for his own wages, but the fact other key players already at Liverpool would also want rises eg. Gerrard has to be the highest paid player

2) His injury record isn't too great

3) He is not the type of striker we need

4) Newcastle couldn't afford £25m on Carroll.

Rafa's Purple Goatie

Maybe he'll have a go at goosing Katie Price....right up the Mersey!

DaveyBootle

I believe if the price is right we will sell carroll back to newcastle !and try and get ba after that or part of the deal ,why dont we give one of our young strikers a go nathan eccelstone for example ,cant be any worse ,michael owen was a classic example of giving the youngsters a chance .

Ed is there anychance of aqualini returning from his loan spell? Just watching some of the pre-season freindlys on liverpoolfctv and he was our main mam could do the job what's the chances ed? {Ed001's Note - no, he doesn't want to be here.}

Didn't we go through this all summer :-$

Pre season games mean nothing there only
played to get the fitness levels up, so he got more time on the ball,

Surely if kenny said he wants him to play here and give him a chance he could change his mind?

EPL is to tough for him and England is to cold.

13 Jan 2012 11:48:10
Has there been any interest in Aiden Mcgeady since march/ july last year?

Cheers (great site guys) {Ed001's Note - not that I know of has there been any interest in McGeady from Liverpool at all. Dalglish did recommend him to Rafa, but there has been no interest shown by the club, even after Kenny took charge. Newcastle did show some interest but the price put paid to any deal happening.}

As an irish person i have to say mcgeady is no where near good enough to be a liverpool player, the lad runs around the field like a headless chicken and very rarely puts a good ball into the box.....has a few flashes of brilliance but very rarely! if i had my way i'd be playing walters ahead of him in the irish set up

13 Jan 2012 11:44:02
will the player from Inter be a permanent deal or loan?

13 Jan 2012 11:06:04
Hi ed's

Last window there was talk of interest in Diego perotti. Great player that can play on either wing. Is there still interest? I also heard juve were sniffing around him...

Cheers

Rob s {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of any move imminent for him, but we have scouted him repeatedly in the past so I doubt we would hear anything new unless/until an enquiry was made.}

13 Jan 2012 10:58:36
Hi Eds, any serious interest in Loic Remy from Mariselle? I know Redknapp "want" him, and i guess that he's not available until the summer. Really great player and I would love to see him in a red shirt. Anyway, I guess who ever signs for us this January would be a good signing, people get wet in their pants when it's transfer time and we got money to spend. Great site, thx {Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

We were linked with Remy in the summer of 2010. I recall that Roy Hodgson was asked about the link and said he had never heard of him. I saw this with my own eyes.

He was serious too. They were dark times.

I gather that Marseille do not want to sell either, he has time left on his contract (2015) so why should they? He'd cost a fortune atm.

It would be nice though, I agree. If we got into the CL we may be able to tempt him (if Kenny is even interested) - not for now though. I'd rule out any possibility for now.

If we are going to sign a striker in this window, it will not be Remy.

Those are my thoughts. Hope they were helpful.

BJH YNWA.

Morning eds and pals long time no post (about a year now). I keep on reading on this sight about signing big name players. Do they mean players like Papadopolous or Kyrgiagos.?
Secondly, what is the situation with the ghanaian starlet on trial? Has he started? Because the media in Ghana are reporting it
cheers
FAMOURS.
{Ed001's Note - the best place to find out is the media in Ghana, they are keeping close tabs on it, whereas to Liverpool he is one of many players that have been and will be in on trial over the course of a season.}

13 Jan 2012 10:24:05
Ghana youth midfielder Mumuni Abubakar is set for a two-week trial with Liverpool.

The 18-year-old was recently voted the Sport Writers Association's Ghana Premier League Player of the Year for 2011, and is tipped for a bright future.

13 Jan 2012 09:40:07
Is there genuine interest in Zaha ed?

Corkpoolred {Ed001's Note - we have looked at him, but I was told that the scouts that have seen him all said the same thing: no end product and recommended we look elsewhere.}

I only seen him play one game (against Cardiff) however he looked the most dangerous with the ball - at that level. Couldnt see that there would be any real interest from LFC though.

How about Loic Remy? Watched him against Arsenal and thought he was quiet, but we all have bad games so i'm not gona judge on that.

Corkpoolred {Ed001's Note - not that I know of, he was looked at a while back but not deemed good enough. From what I have seen, and I have watched him a fair bit, the Arsenal game was his level mate.}

13 Jan 2012 09:10:11
Hi Eds, I've seen you write several times that Liverpool are reluctant to get into bidding wars, could you tell us why you're so sure of this?

I only ask cos Liverpool paid a lot of money for players such as Downing and Henderson in the summer so I get the impression that they are willing to pay the price for the players they want. Thanks {Ed002's Note - Liverpool did most of their buying in the summer, there is not the money available to support a spending spree and certainly the club will not be looking to paying over the odds for a player. EXpect minimal change in January in any case.}

I have to say eds that you said the same thing in the summer about liverpool not having much money to spend and not looking to spend over the odds and look what happended there.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - yes, they recouped most of the money back in outgoings, what's your point?}

Hi eds and all , a quick question please , so if we get champios league how much extra money does it give lfc for transfers because as I have gathered there is no money available or if there is it is not a lot. My other question is the likes of chelsea is there money funded by abramoviches personal money?
hibsylfc {Ed005's Note - There is money available. Obviously not as much as we would anticipate to have in the Summer. I don't know figures but if we got CL football it would give us considerably more money - which wouldn't all be for transfers of course.}

13 Jan 2012 09:05:27
ed any interest in porto's Argentinian wonder boy Juan Iturbe he is 21 and a winger. {Ed002's Note - None at all. There are various plans that he will end up at Manchester United at some point.}

Juan Manuel Iturbe is 18 and currently plays for Porto, joining them from an Argentinian club last year. Like the Ed said, there is some sort of deal that could see him end up at Man Utd in the future if they wish to.

AG

What i have seen he looks very good and would be available at a decent enough price, so as i have said before we should be going for these kind of players, everyone knows we lack pace and someone that can take on players and he certainly can. what is the deal with utd then ed?

BigD

13 Jan 2012 09:04:00
An offer of 40 million euros (£33 million) would trigger the wingers release clause, Eden Hazard, eds his club have made it clear he will not be leaving until the end of the season, so surely if we are serious about buying the best players and value for money/sell on fee etc we should put together a deal now that would see him join in the summer.

BigD {Ed002's Note - There is no release clause and Hazard will not be joining Liverpool anytime soon.}

Yes the lad has got talent but apparently he's a disruptive influence, he's got a big head and an even bigger ego. For that kinda money I'd much prefer us to go for someone like Lucas Moura, he's better than Hazard anyway and without all the ego trip and me, me, me attitude.

Even if there was a release clause, it is dependent on Hazard as well to accept a move to Liverpool.. First we need to get back into Champions League, then we can think of attracting players of Hazard's quality..
Trigger clauses doesn't mean, u meet them & player should join!

Listen liverpool wont be able to attract top top players until kenny stops waisting money on english flops,carrol has no touch and looks a bag of nerves and 35 million was criminal when u think of the striker kenny could of got,downing was always rubbish,he cant score goals and has no right foot at all,he is useless and he cost 20 million!i think henderson has potential and will prove a good player.from my own personal opinion i would like 2 see shauqri,cahill,affelay,podolski,kranjar r even bent, they would all improve liverpool and help attract even better players down the line but at the momet daglish is buying average players so it seem to me he cant spot a good player which is masive masive cause 4 concern! {Ed010's Note - We cannot continue to rely on foreign talent, kenny has obviously knows this he is looking towards the future. The team is doing something right as our possession and defense is pretty good. }

It was a suggestion not a done deal

Cheers Macca for the info ,any info on when this player from Inter gonna be signed ? i mean next week or this will b another late signing ?

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear, it is not possible to put dates on transfers being completed and there is little point in asking.}

The inter player was meant to be "internal" player and Gerrard and his signed new contract on Thursday.

You realise macca said the player Is young so I don't know where you've been for the last ten years or so but Stevie G isn't young anymore.

13 Jan 2012 08:54:07
Hi ed,

does any deal for that certain inter player depend on Inter signing Tevez or another striker first? because I don't see that happening until the end of the transfer window and we need a striker NOW!

redkenyan {Ed002's Note - I would suspect not.}

13 Jan 2012 08:52:27
Just to clear a few things up...Castaignos was first linked in a press story on 2nd January, 2012 where he was being offered by Inter to other Italian clubs and several English clubs. On 8th January he was again linked to Liverpool where he was described as... "Castaignos, 19, joined Inter from Feyenoord in the summer and has drawn comparisons with Thierry Henry for his physical stature and blistering pace."
So, is this a new story for us all to go crazy over, as the inside info deal of the century (not long into it i know!)....no it's not, its called research!
He's made 4 brief appearances scoring 1 goal....there aren't even enough clips on youtube to make a proper compilation video. So, what's the point of this....said it last night and i'm saying it again this morning, he could be a gem (hopefully) but it's making me angry with so many people treating him as the messiah saying he's the answer, the real deal when NO-ONE has seen the lad play...get a grip fellas (and boys!).
sound familiar...oh yes, van wolfsinkel, de jong, martinez, etc etc.
RedMatt

Amen to that, people need to stop comparing these lads and bigging thme up they need to do it in their own time

KK has made contact to crystal palace boss and has began to negotiate a deal for wifried Zaha. decent Player ??

Yea v gd player in championship, quick and has vision. Wont get us a champions league spot all by himself but will be top class in 2 years

I live in croydon and go to most of the palace games as its my local club and i think he will drive people crazy at times.He sometimes wants to take on teams all by himself,hardly passes, does tricks in defensive positions and i don't know if he is ready to move yet. He needs another year or two in the championship to develop.
Red-raj

From what ive seen he's not very good. Not as quick as people make out, clumsey, heavy first touch, greedy and not very good composure. Played somethin like 82 games and has scored about 6 goals. But he's still young, maybe he can still develop. Not any better than we've already got in the reserves i.e. sterling, suso, silva etc. If he comes tho I hope he proves me wrong.

A mate of mine has been a season ticket holder at Palace for most of the last 30 years and he reckons Zaha is the best he has seen since Cashley Cole went there on loan a decade or so ago. If he comes at a reasonable price, definitely worth a punt

Now is not the time to buy young inexperienced English players at inflated prices.We need to get quality experienced players to push for that top 4 spot. Zaha clearly does not fit that bill and if KK does go and buy players like this then people will really start questioning his judgement.

I know someone very senior at Palace as this is true!

Hi Ed great work you in doin here, just wondering if there is any interest in Krasic of juventus? Would be a great signing for us especially perfect for our right wing. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - None, sorry.}

Why all the problem with getting Tevez on loan?......he could be as many problems as he likes but if we had him on a short termer for 6 months he'd be the difference between top four and top six this season......unbelievable some of our fans sometimes, one of the reasons weve been stuck in a rut for so many years is sticking to too many of the old principals....80% of them i agree with and hold dear, but NOT looking at players like Tevez when they become available is madness, ill almost guarantee wherever he goes next will end up winning something in the short term hes there.........class is permanent and all that......plus i dont see one of the worst in the world for problems Mr Bellamy giving KK any hassle do you??.......Maybe hes the man to get the Tevez firing even if it is like i said 'short term' {Ed002's Note - It is simply never going to be an option.}

Agreed its never gonna be an option but im just saying we should be more open to world class players instead of a multitude of squad players, yeah i know were not in the champions league etc etc, but with our history it shouldnt be hard to get the big names in....... {Ed002's Note - You are just ignoring the financial aspects and that it is simply not an option then?}

Look when are you going to realise that Tevez is behaving in the same manor as Mascherano, HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE IN THIS COUNTRY. Believe me if that wasn't the case I'd be the first to snap him up.there is no point signing a problem player, even if it's only for six months who could potentially cause unrest. Plus we'd have to pay part of his £200,000 plus wages. Wake up and smell the coffee.
CC

We need players first and foremost who would understand what it means to play for liverpool.
Tevez doesn't even come close to this category, there is little point mentioning him, never gonna happen..

Why would we loan a player who will either destroy the dressing room or quite possibly have a mad one an go back to argentina to play golf coz hes not arsed?

Peter

But City will only let him go with a guarantee to buy in the summer and do we really want to have to buy him for him to turn around and want to leave by xmas {Ed010's Note - we cannot afford his wages}

13 Jan 2012 07:05:56
Macca referring the player we r gonna buy / loan as a "Good Young Talent" - Neither Coutinho Nor Damiao ( who thinks Macca was cryptic ) fall in this category .. both are established somehow ..

on the other hand Luc is yet to showcase his "talent" in a big stage .

it is Luc Castaignos for sure

On my way to work this morning, Juice FM news run a story saying we are in talks with Crystal Palace about a £10M transfer of Wilfried Zaha.... You heard anything to suggest this is true ED's?
{Ed002's Note - It seems to be an ongoing rumour.}

13 Jan 2012 06:29:56
Comoli spoke to demba ba's agent about a move to anfield. {Ed016's Note - so you know comoli? or ba? or his agent?}

Why trash the rumour like that ed16?

That i wouldnt be surprised if demba ba make a sneak move to anfield in the end of the transfer window he has 15 goals and hes young and that is exactly what liverpool need a prolifec goal scorer like him

I dont no comoli ba or his agent but but a mate of mine is good mates with ba's agent because he is also the agent of his son ryan edwards who plays for blackburn reserves.

Liverpool are preparing to leap-frog Chelsea in the race to snap up Serbia's hottest prospect, Lazar Markovic,… {Ed016's Note - There are too many footballers in this world}

Haha ed16 that's the best grumpy ed comment I've heard in ages xD

Red Ollie

Ed 16 what a terribler joker stop trying to be funny youre not you cant give a straight answer because you havent got a clue {Ed010's Note - I found it hilarious}

hi ed,...wil liverpool buy big names dis january....last time we failed with bid for gomez and higuain.'.,.wat do ua think? {Ed016's Note - how do you define big names? Most footballers are big names, unless its Ba..thats only 2 letters.}

Ha, then Ba must be the smallest name in the epl, how did he get in. Good one Ed

05:02am and your on the ball ed,i like it i like it haha!! {Ed016's Note -Its not 5:02 am where I live}

Ed's got a 'literally' valid point ...and on that note .. castaignos, is a pretty big name compared to Gomez or Higuain ... lol :D

Very good ED016 .. I liked that :)

Anything new on wellinton or Jackson Martinez. Was their any real interest or just paper talk.

koptalk are reporting comoli in talks with catigounis agent so must be him cant say much about the player but would of hoped we would be looking at proven goalscorers we need a good winger and goalscorer if were to finish 4th i dont think a 19 yr old with no experience is going to cut it hopefully big andy will come good, i believe he will, ed s do you still believe we will sign two players?

the freshmaker {Ed005's Note - Koptalk? Might as well go to the zoo and ask one of the animals there what's happening at the club. Although you still wouldn't have to go far to find Duncan Oldham if you went there, main attraction in the hippo section. Anyone who pays to be part of that website is a complete and utter fool and should be ashamed.}

Koptalk's = nonsense!

Swerve koptalk mate; nothing but an extensive con run by a disgusting Geordie parasite with no special info or insight that exists to rip off honest reds fans

Just reading between the lines here freshmaker, but I wouldnt bother mentioning that other site on here again mate, in case you didn't pick up on it.

LIVERPRES

Lol ed

gee man

It's like all none official LFC websites, you have to sieve through ten tons of nonsense to find one half truth.
MD

Most of kop talks sources are rumours from this site. If we all started posting that we where getting neymar, his sources would suddenly come up with it to

Edd005...you should really learn to say what you think, rather than holding it all back....classic !

Tel 1949

Fat Dunc's "sources" are random people on this site and, in this case, Macca. Anyone willingly paying for this fat clown's pies should be embarrassed.

With Pato staying in Milan, now Tevez's move has broken down there if he was still at man city come the final day of the window could we potentially put in a loan deal for him, gets us goals and him out of city for a while and puts him in the spotlight for other clubs to buy him? works for everyone

No, he wouldn't even turn up

£200-250k/week... I doubt City would want him in the English league, let alone pay a majority of his wages for the privilege of seeing him with a rival.

He's a brilliant player, but would disrupt any team he walks in to. City are managing him brilliantly by standing up to him and letting him rot. Yes he's costing them a fortune, but hands up to them, they're leading the way in teaching those greedy b******s a lesson in who's boss.

Tevez has said he will never play in england again

eds, i have been informed that the target from "inter" is one of 2 players. Ill call this person "cracker" sounds like "macca" but definately not macca. Cracker is a friend of somebody called Oliver Morgan who " apparantly" has links to LFC in some way shape or form. He seems to think that these targets are : 1 - Coutinho and 2 - Leandro Damiao. Both are possible transfers but only 1 will arrive. He has also stated that Kuyt will remain at LFC until the summer at which point he will return to Holland and see out his career at Fc Twente with Luuk De Jong arriving at Anfield.

WelshKopite

According to macca phillipe coutinho it must be!
damio is fantastic too..

Judging from Macca's statement it's obviously one of two players taking into account the player is from Inter Milan and he's South American.
Coutinho is being touted and that being behind the logic that we've been linked with him before and for some reason some people think Rafa has some involvement which seems totally baffling to me...
The Ed's have said that this could be a loan deal and then my brain got going. If we are looking for a goalscorer, a poacher, a man who finishes 9 times out of 10 everything points to Milito for me. A short term solution for a short term problem. I seem to recall while at Spurs Milito was linked heavily with them and I do believe that was when Comolli was there. I personally pray it's Milito because despite his poor form, I perceive him to be a player who needs confidence and then the goals will flow. Yes, he doesn't fit FSG's 'model' but if this is a loan deal that doesn't matter to me on this basis. They want players with a sell on value... well we wouldn't be buying him and we wouldn't be selling him he'd be a helping hand so to speak. I am in no way explicitly saying that it sounds like Milito I'm merely sharing an opinion as to who it could be and why it should be him. Yes, he is 33 but he was a very quick player and I don't see him being slower than say a certain Andy Carroll even now. Look at Bellamy... does he fit FSG's 'model'? No. Has he been a success? Yes. End of story. {Ed016's Note - I think he maybe too old for the English League now sorry mate}

Did Macca actually say the player was South American? Thought he just said he was from Inter?

It's nice to read such tripe... Having an opinion is one thing, sharing it with the world means you now have nowhere to hide! So your baffled by Rafa being mentioned in relation to Liverpool's potentional courting of Coutinho, a player who was initially a Benetiz target 3 seasons ago... And to compound your stupidity you go on to suggest that Milito is a better choice for you, regardless the fact that he was also a Rafa target for the duration of his tenure... In an entire aside from your stupidity, if Rafa had the luxury of our new owners, the cream of city's squad would be wearing the liver bird with pride. Keep your (i mean Rafa's, no i mean mine, no i'm baffled) ideas to your self...

What's your problem? I haven't said anything stupid. You say 'So you're* baffled by Rafa being mentioned in relation to Liverpool's potential courting of Coutinho, a player who was initially a Benitez target 3 seasons ago...'
Now that my friend is a stupid statement, what exactly has an ex-manager got to do with any players we may sign in this window, the next window or any other window. Believe it or not Rafa doesn't ring up Kenny discussing who he should sign and effectively how he should do his job and who to buy. So on that basis you're stupid.
Secondly you say 'if Rafa had the luxury of our new owners, the cream of City's squad would be wearing the liver bird with pride.' Again, this is a far more stupid comment than any I have made. The reason for this being, first off do we have the financial power of City? That is a categorical no. Do we have Champions League football to attract the kind of players they have bought? No. I do not see any grounds for that statement, again you're 'stupid' for that comment too.
I have stated my opinion that I would like to see Diego Milito be the player who will arrive, I know the feasibility of this to be very low I merely suggested that I would like him to be the player who we are supposed to be signing. You seem an odd character who enjoys thinking they have some sort of intellectual supremacy when in fact you have failed miserably. The turn of phrase and lexical choice you have utilised, oh and not to mention logic and complete misunderstanding of what I have stated, is quite frankly embarrassing. I have stated an opinion, I have stated the grounds upon which it could be Milito in what I admit to be a pipe dream of mine. This is a rumours site and the visitors of this site often ask questions as who is coming etc... I have shared my opinion and my reasoning for why it could be Milito, I know it is not in all likelihood going to be him so take your pompous and flawed attitude somewhere else and respect people's opinions whether you deem them credible or not.

*You're, not 'your'. Well done Mr.Intellectual.

To the original poster: Macca did not say he is South American and he did say he was young, so I'm afraid it won't be Milito. Furthermore, Milito has been getting in the Inter team and scoring goals the last couple of weeks so I doubt they'll let him go until the summer (unless maybe they sign Tevez, but even then I suspect Zarate will be allowed to return to Lazio).

It seems you ignored one of the most important points to maccas Statement. He said' young' that counts militio out altogether.

My bad, he did say he was young.

Tonight,the Daily Mail are reporting that we are interested in Wilfred Zaha of Crystal Palace, do you know of any interest eds? {Ed016's Note - Tonight that, tomorrow Messi to Everton. I wouldn't trust a thing the Daily Mail posts, men should realise what those stupid womens gossip rags for women is what the back pages and sports sections of papers have become for men. DONT BUY THE SUN}

Ed016 = legend

I find that highly sexist and highly offensive Ed. You should know better. {Ed005's Note - Off the rails he is, we can do nothing with Ed016 ;). In all seriousness, apologies to anyone who took offence.}

Ya ye always throw up that comment but if you look at the Daily Mail online page they nearly always break transfer news or are on top of the breaking transfer news so just throwing some statement out like that is stupid. Fair enough the Sun is scum but why the hatred for the Daily Mail? {Ed005's Note - Because not many there are very fond of Liverpool it seems.}

Partly because Kelvin McKenzie now works for the mail (he of the Hillsborough Sun headlines), and partly because they and the Mirror were the loudest and first to print headlines appearing to condemn Suarez as a racist person.

Why the hatred for the Daily Mail? Because they employ Kelvin MacKenzie. That in itself is reason not to have anything to do with it for any self respecting Liverpool supporter. Plus, it's s---e anyway.

And by the way, I hope Ed016 hasn't got an eight match ban for saying that. when he talks about women's gossip rags it's not an insult. The cultural differences in Liverpool mean we are referring in a friendly way to all gossip and lifestyle periodicals. So would all the birds stop getting their g strings in a twist please? {Ed005's Note - The other eds are getting together to come to a decision as to what action to take.}

LMFAO ED0016,

Well played my friend.

RobbehLFC

The Daily Mail is a newspaper that even the worst Nazis would be proud of! Not only is it a disgusting, discriminative, sensationalist paper anyway, but for Liverpool fans and residents it is as bad as the Sun. How can any TRUE Liverpool fan read the Daily Mail after what the Conservatives did to the city? Did no one see the 'managed decline' revelations in the news recently? Oh, I forgot, they didn't report about that in the Daily Mail... The Kop still chants "Maggie Maggie Maggie, Out Out Out!" for a reason! Also, the fact that that piece of sh*t Kelvin McKenzie works for them should be enough for anyone with a conscience to stop reading it. I thought Liverpool was a strongly socialist city AND club but I see fans like you just don't care what we stand for.
