So let me get this right! All you people want us to lose tomorrow so we get a new manager and it takes another few months fir the players to get used to a new manager! Correct me if I'm mistaken but I thought that the point of playing football was to win!

I don't care if it's kenny dalglish or Donald duck if my team is getting 3 points im happy!

ha ha ha, to f&$!ing funny. So I am at the Echo, reading up on LFC stories. Anyway, I look at the links at the bottom for more news. I see the story the Pepe wants out, at that rag the Mirror. Which by the way I would not use for a wrapper for fish n' chips. So I click on the link, and low and behold it's a dead link. No more story. It couldn't be that Pepe himself killed the story on the LFC site could it?

I wouldn't even use the Mirror for toilet paper, because half the stuff they like to print about our club chaps my a$$ anyway. I just thought I would share that with you all, talk about chicken-$hyte journalism. Not only can they print lies, but when they turn out false they disappear. Too bad the one who printed the lies can't disappear as well.

To the bloke on here a bit earlier with his potential mangers list. I would say that is a decent list of likely candidates, but I would prefer one of these young managers who play delicious attacking football:
-Paul Tisdale Exeter City
-Mark McGhee Aberdeen
-Sean O'Driscoll Doncaster
-Roberto Di Matteo WEst Brom
-Roberto Martinez Wigan

Or my preferred option would be to sack Roy and bring back the real Roy of Liverpool - Roy Evans. He was pretty much forced from the club when he was partnered with Houllier. He is still young enough to give maybe 5 good years of service. And I would bring in Steve Nicol to coach under him and then take over when Evans retires. Boot Room reborn. What do you think? Ed?
Anfield Rapstar {ed's note - I have to admit I would love Evans back at the club, best years of my life were spent watching us under him. The football was out of this world!}

Roy seems to have a problem with Pacheco and Agger. Even if Pacheco gets a game Roy will play him out of position he wants to make him a wide player for some reason, i know we have lack of width but he should helping the lad learn his trade not destroying his confidence by not even making the bench
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
He plays wide for Spain anyway. Thats the position where he got player of the tounament and top gosl scorer in the U19's.
He played wide left in a 442 formation?

In response to those who claim to be Liverpool fans in one breath and then admit to wanting the team to lose in the next breath, I am with editor when he writes:

{ed's note - I really couldn't care less how many trophies anyone else wins, I just want us to win every match.}

All Liverpool fans should want their team to win under all circumstances. I remember Blackburn coming to Anfield when Kenny was their manager on a day when a win for Blackburn would have guaranteed them the league title ahead of Manure. Liverpool won 2-1, and I was proud of the team's commitment. I cheered both of the Liverpool goals as vociferously as I always do. Blackburn won the league anyway because Manure tripped up against West Ham. A great result all round.

If that true, then Spurs haven't beaten us to his signature, but merely stolen our transfer target list (Parker, Toivenon, Van der Vaart ring a bell?)

Spurs haven't signed anybody or beaten us to anybody. THE TRANSFER WINDOW IS SHUT.

Does anyone know whats happening with Pacheco? Every game we have 2 centre midfielders on the bench with at least 3 in the team who can play in that position so why not have more attacking players on the bench at least. Personally I would give Pacheco much more of a chance. Does anyone know?

Yeah i think him and Chris Wood (NZ) were the youngest or among the young'uns {ed's note - I just remember watching some vids of Ajax during the build up to the World Cup while I was doing some research for the main site. I did like the look of him, though they were highlights so it was hard to judge properly.}

there are some videos on youtube with clips of him playing for Ajax. He's very much a nasri/ modric kind of player. got some pace, quite skillful, good first touch/ right foot, wouldn't be a bad investment in my opinion.

FemaleRed {ed's note - certainly better than a Wright-Philips or some other average EPL player.}

Please post ed and would like to hear your views. {ed's note - I would rather we win, I never want us to lose no matter what.

I'd rather have a win, an ugly win at that than a loss after a great performance. If you actually care about who the manager is, something is wrong with you. Houllier, Benitez, Hodgson or whomever. . Liverpool is Liverpool. I feel sorry for you if your heartbeat doesn't pick up during a game. . you are truly missing out on something. The team is only two or three signings away from being a force again and some people are obsessed by getting rid of a new manager after five years of Rafa's brand of football.

Ed, I know you said you NEVER want us to lose, but be honest- when Chelsea beat us 2-0 last season and stopped Man U beating the LFC record for league titles, didn't you at least think it was one time that getting beat was a good thing?
Much as I hated it myself, we were poor anyway and out of CL contention, and the gloating would have been ENDLESS {ed's note - not in the slightest mate, I really couldn't care less how many trophies anyone else wins, I just want us to win every match.}

Stability is the key for LFC this season and maby next season.
Nesv will invest in LFC, but not in huge amounts.
Looks like Nesv have a clever finiancial plan for LFC that will make money for the club even if Champions league is not achieved.
Such finiancial plans include the signing of players that will sell jerseys and increase the popularity of LFC in other continents such as Asia.

WTF. This is Liverpool son, not Everton.
I can't ever remembering Real Madrid, Barcelona even Man United waffling about stability. Infact there would be uproar in Spain.
This is Liverpool football club, our ambition is to win regardless of squad. Should we play our under 16s they to should have ambition, heart, desire and determination.
Stability my Arse!
Winning mentality creates a winning side.

The only sports journalim awards you will be receiving will be fantasy football journalist of the year start printing the truth or you will end up like the sun amongst LFC supporters

Its been agreed that we need another striker, how about Kun Aguero - he would be suited to the EPL with his pace and strength, he is young and going to get better, old friends with Fernando and is a liverpool supporter!

How about being realistic

Dodge

How is it being unrealistic?? - we have new owners with the will to splash out lots of money on young talent,
liverpool is a massive club and that alone would attract world-class players,
we already have world class players and when Roy (or other manager) sorts the team out we will be challenging for the EPL

Five things I want between now and the end of the season:

1.Hodgson (along with Kelly and Lee) removed and replaced by Kenny till May.This will automatically translate to proper footy being dished out;youths being given their just chances
2.A proper, footy-savvy CEO
3.Hulk, Afellay and Adam Johnson.All in January
4.New stadium plans
5.Top 3/ 4 finish

But we all know that most of these are as likely as Carra volleying a 93rd minute belter into the top corner.
But hey, one can dream, not so?It's better than looking at or listening to that self-righteous, arse-licking, inept miserable excuse for a Liverpool manager Hodgson clown going about his buffoonery, anyway.

By the way, ed, do your folk still reckon he's on the way out?Personally, I've started to doubt it.

Hi Guys,

just a quick one in relation to new signings. Kenny and Roy are to travel to Ipswich to watch Connor Wickham. Ive been told by an alright source well right 70% of the time that the lad is excited to hear how things are going with the new owner and his 'youth' policy and would be open to a move. Rumours were rife in te summer that this was all a done deal but hes finshed school at the end of the school year possibly being loaned back to Ipswich for the remainder of the season to finish off in school and then make the big move in the summer. All signed and sealed in the January window though.

Henry has spoken to Camollei regarding young players and Wickham, Honda, Hazard, Affely and Tiovinan were all serious contenders.

Hope im being told the truth as them lads are some serious talent. Sure we will wait and see.

On the subject of Reina wanting away. I heard this rumour a couple of months back. The story I heard was that Hodgson wanted Reina to stay on his line more! Yes! despite the fact that Reina brilliantly would race off his line to clear many dangerous through balls, (makes sense when you see how defensive Liverpool have become). Even more crazy was Hodgson also told Reina to stop releasing the ball so quickly when he is in possession after the opposition's attack. Again, how many times has Reina targeted a front man and set up a dangerous counter attack for Liverpool? Dozens of times!
However, I think Reina will wait to see what happens till the end of the season and if Hodgson is STILL in charge then I think he WILL go!

SIMPLY PUT - HODGSON IS A F***ING IDIOT

The sooner we get rid of this retard the sooner Liverpool will be a top team again.
All this bull about his inheriting a "poor" squad from Rafa is total b****cks. The team we have now is not much different from the team that battered Real Madrid 4 nil and Man Utd at OT 4-1. The only REAL change in all that time is the F***ING IDIOTIC tactics of that moron Hodgson.
Let's face it Hodgson is an idiot when it comes to tactics, he has managed to make good players look ordinary and mediocre to poor teams, like Wigan, West Brom, Birmingham, Blackpool and Northampton (OMG!) look like world beaters when they play Liverpool!
Personally, I think the man was put in charge to destroy Liverpool.
Oh I wish we could have Rafa back!

I would sell Johnson, he is not a rb, he is more of a defensive winger, with the tackling ability of a leaf. Hes pathetic in defense, but relatively good in attack. I would sell him if an offer of around 15m came in, and replace him with Van Der Wiel, hes a real attacking right back!

Agree - Believable
Disagree- Unbelievable

Ed, whats your opinion on Van Der Wiel?

Andy Bootle {ed's note - he hasn't looked too bad when I have seen him, certainly a big improvement over Johnson, but I would prefer to keep faith in Kelly.}

He will sign for Malaga in Spain in January for 17m Euros on a very lucrative 4 and a half year contract. They are owned by a very weathy Qatari who wants Malaga in the Champions League.

1) fans who respect the club and support the team.
2) A press embargo on LFC
3) A long run of victories in the league
4) Man Utd forced to sell players to pay off debts
5) A couple of genuine wingers.

Hitzfeld obviously has pedigree from the 90's with Dotmund and Bayern, but his Swiss side in South Afica were absolutely awful. Very negative. I think i'd stick with Hodgson if Hitzfeld was our only option.
By the way Klinnsman is now working for Toronto in the MLS.

why is no one talkin bout isco?he was magnificent n only 19!do u think we'll look at him(hes spanish by d way) juz saw his vids, he would b perfect for liverpool! {ed's note - who is Isco?}

I think he is talking about the valencia's youngsters. . I too have seen him play. He is very good and has scored a brace just yesterday in Copa del ray. . He is 18 and looks to be another Mata, Or I should say david Silva. . I think ed, would've agreed, if he had seen him. . His full name is Francisco Suarez. . Nick named Isco. . {ed's note - I haven't seen him play sorry, but I doubt he would be in Suso's class, according to the Spanish I know he is their best prospect.}

Thats true, Suso is the best among all. . Hope he gets better and better. . But Isco is great one, too. .

the problem with him is his personality - football players don't get sacked for no reason! he's got a history of being moody and of getting fat!

having said that, he could be worth a risk, if we are smart about it - just sign him until the end of hte season maybe, set targets for his weight etc into contract (like west ham did with beni mcarthy)

Holloway?

he wudnt be much better than roy. he may play abit more attacking futball but we need a manager who has been at a club with a few world class players in the squad and not aimed for mediocrity at their previous club. holloway i feel wud make poor signings in my view we need a trophy winner who has also experienced european football not, been in the championship for years.

at wigan the other night the fans were chanting his name and despite being right in front of us he did not even glance in our direction or acknowledge the fans, then on the final whistle he walked off looking proper pissed off without a glance at anyone on or off the pitch and down the tunnel ok he played very well as usual but his manner is really niggling at me, any thoughts ed and people, bob paisleys skids {ed's note - he is just unhappy mate.}

There is a problem with Xmas transfers and it's Hodgson. Those of you who are naming big stars need to put yourselves in NESV's shoes. Hodson will not be Liverpool Manager come the beginning of next season. Exactly when he is replaced is anyones gues but he won't be there come 3pm Sat 13 Aug 2011. Therefore in NESV's mind do they allow Roy to buy players he wants that play the way he wants in January. Somehow I doubt it. Therefore I believe the Xmas window will be largely a sticking plaster affair - a reliable middle-ranking striker and possibly a reliable middle-ranking winger and not much more. Should a big star come in then it will be an NESV/ Comolli buy whether Hodgsion wants him or not. Likewise I do not see to many departures either to be frank.

But if Hodgson goes at Xmas, then all bets are off.

Basically I cannot see any major moves in or out until we have a longterm manager.

Sack roy mid-season and you are looking at someone who is unemployed. That only leaves MON, Kenny or Rijkaard. Think about it lads, it's not going to happen.

Re earlier post. .

"Thanks to the terrible state of the economy worldwide, the Turkish Football Federation are having trouble finding the money to pay Guus Hiddink's wages and because of this he will be allowed to leave the job as Turkish National Team Manager by mutual consent. Liverpool are in pole position to employ his services by December 1st. Fact."

If there is anything in this then I wonder if Ray Wilkins' dismissal is in any way connected? He was No.2 at Chelski while Hiddink was there wasn't he?

Also re another earlier post. .

"I can't believe either Hodgson and Kelly will be at Liverpool by Christmas. It all seems a little like Mike Bassett England Manager at Liverpool at the moment."

I gotta say that since roy came on board, all I can think of now when watching LFC games is Mike Bassett England Manager.

And does anyone else think that Sammy Lee acts just like Mike Bassett's No.2

If we try signing 2 blokes called Benson & Hedges in January you know we're in trouble! :-D

Pepe Reina today dismissed media reports claiming he has told Roy Hodgson he wants to leave Liverpool.

The Spain international exclusively told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I have seen a newspaper has made this suggestion. It is completely untrue.

Said the man with the Orthopaedic Shoes!

Never thought Pepe would want to leave. He's not the type to get in a 'huff' and threaten x-y-z. I just think he has been letting frustrations out about the current manager, tactics and signings, and the media put 2&2 together to make 22.

I think he would have used the speculation as leverage for something though. Lets face it, this stuff has been going on for a couple of weeks now, so why didn't he clarify before? Simple - he wanted leverage with the owners, but he never intended to actually use it.

Now lets get Frank Rijkaard in, and get him to manage a team with Aguero, Honda, Young and Cahill added to Stevie G, Torres and Pepe.

Why does not the club take these 'newspapers' and liars, sorry journo's to court for their lies? At least they should not allow them near Anfield and Melwood (ala Fergie). So ed don't you you reckon there any chance of roy going and being breaking news on ssn. have you heard of any meeting or anything arranged.i have been constantly tuning to s sport news and this site hoping and praying that some news will come out today. {ed's note - I don't expect him to be removed, NESV have not got anyone to take over, until they find someone Roy will stay in place unless results get bad and force them to act.}

()()

12 Nov 2010 13:40:39
I believe that there are a lot of people on this site who have it in their heads that Roy must leave no matter what happens with the team. Never mind that the results are getting better, the man needs to go. But, don't you think that a transitional period under new manangement would bring a series of disappointing results? I think that NESV's approach is the one that makes the most sense right now. Bring in a guy who will overlook all transfer dealings, buy a quality player or two under his recommendation and see what happens until the end of the season. If Roy is to be let go it will happen at the end of the season. If the players, and I really doubt this, are that unhappy about things they will have to carry on until the end of the season. If the fans are unhappy, guess what, wait until the end of the season. Replacing a manager at this time of the year makes absolutely no sense unless the ship is sinking and clearly it is not. So, stop over-analysing every grimace from players and every article from tabloid papers. The sad part is that the league is there to be taken, but because of the errors of the past Liverpool are in no position to contend. Still, we are not that far away from contention, 2 or 3 sensible signings might do wonders. In short, we need players wo can and WILL score goals and take pressure of Gerrard and Torres. My choices are LLorente and Honda (or Hulk)
30 million gets you both of them. If you sell a body or two (Babel, Aquilani, Poulsen, Jovanovic and everyone else who's not being used) there is no reason for this to be an impossibility. Liverpool need to go big without going broke. What do you think Mr Ed? {ed's note - I can see what you are saying, I just think that there is little point sticking with a manager for the rest of the season when you know he is not going to be there next season. It will affect our chances of doing the best we can and we do have the ability in the team to be top four and we should be looking to do so by going out and attacking teams like Wigan. I do agree though, two signings would be enough to transform the team.}

Thanks to the terrible state of the economy worldwide, the Turkish Football Federation are having trouble finding the money to pay Guus Hiddink's wages and because of this he will be allowed to leave the job as Turkish National Team Manager by mutual consent. To the guy who posted "on the Roy Hodgson debate I would add this" 11.31 today.

Please not my post on todays rumours site below ;-

John Henry is a great believer in Statistics, the right balance of statistics gives you the winning formula that's what he implemented with the Red Sox. He will now be analyzing the winning formulas of the top EPL and European teams together with NESV's associated and probably Damien Commolli may be even King Kenny.
He will be aware of Roys plans and will take note of the players' views and will now have a good idea of who will stay and who will go, particularly regarding RH. NESV are now looking for players and possibly a manage who will give them that winning formula, but this may take some time and that is why Reina and Gerrard ("I'm being a little selfish I need a quick fix as well") are getting unsettled.
NESV are not stupid they know it will take time to turn the team around; who will be there at the end of this is anyone's guess, whether they leave because they don't fit in to the plans or they cannot wait for the turn around to happen. I think NESVs main target this year is a Champions league place and hopefully some type of silverware to show intent and pacify/ reward the fans, FA cup probably Europa league. What you view on this Ed? {ed's note - I think that sounds right, but I can see it getting a lot worse before things get better.}

I do believe we can improve and get into 4th spot, especially in this seasons EPL, last year would have been very difficult but this year it's a far closer contest.

What we must do is act soon and with a set-up both on and off the pitch that is performing as a team and working for the future of Liverpool FC and not for personal gain. However, you cannot expect player to do this with out confidence that their individual tragets will be acheived and that is the responsibility of owners and management. Lets hope the right decissions are made at the right time otherwise we could lose out status.

I won't laugh so hard mate, when you say "we will never sell anyone to united", who do you mean by we, NESV the new owners who are financially minded and already on record saying they like to sell players at their peak when they reach a certain age, or Roy Hodgson who will do anything to please his master Ferguson.
I don't think Reina will go to united, and that's because he the most loyal Liverpool fan in this whole equation, NESV and Roy will be willing to do business with manure but I think (and hope) Reina will say no - but I not saying he will stay, he like a lot of our players are very disappointed.

Hi ed, could u please shed some more light on the pepe riena situaton and what you meant in an earlier post when you said he believes he has to make a stand? is it something to do with the training methods hodgson is using and his coach mike kelly? also who is the old bloke who runs from the dugout to shout subs when roy wants to make a change during a game while they are warming up he looks about 90. thank you ed great site. {ed's note - I haven't actually noticed who does that mate, but it sounds like a description of Mike Kelly! Pepe is unhappy at the training he is receiving at the hands of Kelly, he feels it is not just out-of-date but bad coaching. He is being told to completely change his way of playing, to become more of an 'English-style' keeper. No more launching swift counter-attacks, no more sweeping up behind the defence. He loves Liverpool, the city and the club, but he feels that he is not improving due to the coaching but in fact being held back. It is just like the days of Joe Corrigan all over again, you could see keeper after keeper becoming worse the longer he coached them until, their confidence shattered, they became a shadow of the player we bought.}

Alright Ed! Everyone is singin the same song about signings were gonna be goin for in jan, such as honda, affelay, hazard, hulk, young etc- before the transfer deadline in august people we're sayin we were gettin augero, young, forlan and van de vaart who ended up st spurs. What I'm really tryin say is that do you for fact that were 100% gonna makin a bid for. I no we were in porto but could of been lookin at any of 22 players that started that game an not just hulk. Nice one mate an keep up the good work on the site! {ed's note - no one knows for sure who were looking at, though often it happens that a scout will go to look at one player and a completely different player catches his eye anyway. All we can do is guess, educated or otherwise, at the type of players Comolli would want. For instance, it is likely that the player would be under 27, so any players who were over that age playing in the match can probably be discounted.}

I don't think the man tipped to be our future captain is going to demand to leave because he's not completely happy at the moment - we've just been taken over, the club's finally, after years of poor ownership, moving in the right direction and the likes of Gerrard and Torres have reiterated their commitment to the club. Comolli's been brought in to revitalise transfer policy. There are certainly things wrong at the moment that need to be resolved sooner rather than later but to think Reina would up sticks and move becuase of short term problems is ridiculous and he's better than that. Pepe will not leave in January, the press love throwing our star player names around because were an easy target at the moment. Pepe's loyalty to LFC has never been in doubt.

()()

12 Nov 2010 10:32:20
Can't see Reina leaving myself. He has already stated that he loves the club and was first to sign a new contract when times where hard.

If he does leave then he will go to either Arsenal or Inter because he hates the mancs like the rest of us. Inter would be a shout because of his relationship.

If he was to leave there would only be one man capable of replacing him, Iker Casillas and even that is arguable. Reina is our best player by far, some of the saves he has made this season have been as important as a Nando goal.

All I can say is, lets wait til the end of the season, then see what we have achieved, if anything, then see what happens. We had a summer saga of Torres and Gerrard leaving, they both stayed, lets hope Pepe follows suit.

For me the only departure in January should be Babel as he is so inconsistant. .

Thanks for reading

If Reina leaves I would want to see Hugo Lloris join us from Lyons. Quality keeper who is a consistent performer. As for a striker, I would go for Lavezzi from Napoli. We were interested a year or so ago but having seen him, he is strong, fast and technically good. He would suit the prem.

Hopefully that will tempt more people to join and that will pay for more articles. Even without agent's fees (my aunt has an agency which represents a number of ex-players) you are still looking at a few hundred quid per article. The ad-space on the site is up for sale but at the moment it is just Google Adsense up there, which is a pain because they keep running things like adverts for the S*n and it pays peanuts.}

You'd think with the amount of people that view this site that ad space would go instantly. I know i hit this website about 50 times a day and i bet everyone else does. Have you tried touting Liverpool F.C to see if there interested in maybe posting merchandise articles and you get a percentage of every sale that goes through your site? Just an idea.

Riena doesn't want to leave liverpool just a while ago he said he wants to stay for ages and that he wants his kids to have scouse accents so its just the press going for another one of liverpools best players 1st Gerrard then Torres now Riena!

Liverpool to have 30 million to spend in january : we need a left back left winger and right winger aswell as a striker

ins: KEISUKE HONDA 10m-15m fast , dead ball specialist , creative could play off torres therefore no need for striker his nickname is the false nine as he plasys as a cf but drops deeper to pull the defence around the the pitch.

MATT JARVIS 5m-8m fast , trickster , great delivery he destroyed city the other wekk and performed well against united both times and looks like he could well get his england call up soon.

havent got a clue as for a left back but reckon these to are 70% top be wearing the red shirt coming february 1st but roy has said 5 or 6 players so the team for february 1st 2011 -

It appears to me that if Pepe does want to leave, then Lverpool have their eyes on two fanatstic keepers in Neuer and De Gea, both of whom are available. And if he were to leave, then it is obvious to me that it would be to join up with Rafa, as he has openly stated that Rafa was the reason he joined LFC.
If the rumours are not true, then atleast it will take the limelight off Liverpools ongoing pursuit of targets, which cannot be bad news, even if it would only be for a day or so.

Question for any of the editors that will get this. Right now, who is liverpool's best buy this summer? Is it Raul Meireles, Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Paul Konchesky, Jonjo Shelvey, or Christian Poulsen (yeah, right!)? {ed's note - that is a tough question, none have really performed well as of yet. I think it has to be Shelvey for pure potential though, and I like the fact he looks like that American actor who was in the original Hills Have Eyes and in Weird Science too.}

Ed, What are you on.? Shelvey.! Miereles is the only one who has shown anything so far despite being moved from pilar to post in the side. Shelvey looks like a 40 a day man with Ashma.! {ed's note - yes but Meireles is already at his peak, Shelvey is just a kid.}

Re this Reina Rumour. . . .
IF and I mean IF it is true, let him go. . . .if he wants to go what is the point in him staying?. . .its like asking you girlfriend / wife to stay after she says she does not love you!. .ie pointless
. . . .what is essential is that he never goes to the Mancs. . . how could we basically give them a help out in trying to get to the 19th title?
. . . .if he goes to Arsenal, then demand players in exchange. . .
. . . Finally if he does go, I would not like to see/ hear booing on his return. . .he has been excellent for us, and deserves to be thought of that way. . . .
. . . .anyway, I think the rumour is b* * * s!

I agree with almost everything you have said, apart from selling Krygiaos. .we would get almost no money for him. .and he has been one of our most consistent performers this season.

I would also add Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to my 'wish list' ( a proven goal scorer, good in the air and would be an amazing partner for torres. . and he would be able to deal with the physical aspect of the premier league a lot better than Some of those younger guys you mentioned)

NESV are not stupid they know it will take time to turn the team around; who will be there at the end of this is anyone's guess, whether they leave because they don't fit in to the plans or they cannot wait for the turn around to happen. I think NESVs main target this year is a Champions league place and hopefully some type of silverware to show intent and pacify/ reward the fans, FA cup probably Europa league. What you view on this Ed? {ed's note - I think that sounds right, but I can see it getting a lot worse before things get better.}

With regards to the pepe reina situation. .IT HAS EVERYTHINK TO DO WITH HODGSON. . Yes pepe does want to see us move forward with a posotive move in the transfer window but he is unhappy with training methods and Mike Kelly hodgson goalkeeping coach. An old man teaching one of the best goalies how to train and improve?? I'd be pissed off too. . It would be like Sean dundee teaching Torres how to score goals. . Holland's rising star Ibrahim Afellay is dreaming of a move to Liverpool or Manchester United despite being linked with a host of top European clubs.

Atletico Madrid are keen signing the PSV Eindhoven midfielder in January, while reports in Italy claim Juventus and Inter Milan will also enter the race.

But Afellay, who will be a free agent next summer, has his heart set on a move to the Barclays Premier League.

Everton and Arsenal have also been linked, but the 24-year-old attacking midfielder said: 'Playing in the Premier League would be best for my prestige. I'd like to play for Liverpool or Manchester United , the top-level prospect for any player.'

Afellay was the star of the show in Holland's 4-1 win against Sweden on Tuesday, scoring twice and grabbing an assist.

Despite facing competition from the likes of Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart and Arjen Robben, Afellay has won 30 caps and is becoming an indispensible member of Bert van Marwijk's side.

The Daily Mirror have put this story up about Reina wanting to leave Liverpool, and add in this "£20m release clause" garbage again. Both Liverpool and Guillem Balague said that this clause does not exist and was a lie. Which proves that this article is complete and utter lies and nonsense.

Plus, the Daily Mirror are the only ones reporting this. And I'm sure the more prominent papers would have found out about this also. And who wrote the article - DAVID MADDOCK? That clown speaks bull every time he writes a column or an article, and some of his articles are lies and some of his columns are extremly amateur!

Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd aregoing to bid £15m + for Andy Carroll in January

Both Arsenal, Liverpool are a fan of sabermetrics the art of finding a cheap player with baseball stats. It seems Andy Carroll is topping the charts.

Newcastle owner will be holding a auction for the player in January as Mike Ashley is looking to make a profit this year. This has also held up contract talks with newcastle manager Chris Hughton who is not happy at losing his striker come January

Pepe Reina has told Roy Hodgson he wants to leave Liverpool - possibly as early as January.

Mirror Sport reported that Manchester United, Arsenal and Inter Milan are interested in the goalkeeper and now he has made it clear to Hodgson and the Liverpool board he wants to go.

Hodgson has tried to persuade the keeper who has a £20 million buy-out clause in his contract to stay, but is now looking at possible replacements.

Top of his list are Germany international stopper Manuel Neuer, and Ajax number one Maarten Stekelenburg, who was the Holland keeper in the World Cup final.

Neuer is widely regarded as one of the best young keepers in Europe after helping steer his country to third place in the World Cup during the summer.

If it was a choice between Reina or Woy I know who I'd want in the team. . China Red.

I think Raul Meireles is the best buy . I would like to see him partner Gerrard in the centre of midfield and given licence to attack - similar to the role Terry Mcdermott used to play . I think Gerrard could also attack with intelligence and athletiscism , having a really good go at teams .

I think It'd be good for the club if the so called "unhappy" players leave as soon as possible. (whether it's Torres, Reina or others). We'd surely struggle, but some players are willing to fight on. That's what you need in a club like ours. When all the unhappy players are found and we bid them farewell (Kick em out) we'll start getting results. Forget the manager, it's not the only problem.

This is the first time i have ever disliked some LFC fans.
I cannot believe what a bunch of turn coats most of our fans are.
How can you all be saying hodgson out when he has only been in the job a couple of months??
Hodgson has inherited the squad from Rafa, and we can all see that Rafa stitched us up big time in the end.
The players Hodgson brought during the summer was with a limited budget, so we cannot complain when he doesn't sign world class players.
I am a strong believer of Roy.
You guys need to bide time and wait for 1/ 2 seasons time.
We are heading in the right direction, we will make some very good signings during January and next summer.
As he has stated, Hodgson knows that alot of current squad members are not good enough, so expect to see the following leave in either january or the summer: -
Itandje
Insua
Degen
Jovanovic
Aquilani
Babel
El Zhar
We will then see some world class players arrive, such as: -
LB - Coentrao / Tawio
LW - Mata / Arda Turan
ST - Hulk / Llorente
These players will turn us into title contenders.
We will also see a large amount of english youth join our club.
The futures bright. . the futures hodgson

Come on Roy, don't you have better things to do then post on here?

4 signings for Jan. .

Striker: Kun Aguero
Young, super talented, marketable, big mates with Torres.

Winger: Ashley Young
English, Prem experinece, still young, pace & creativity, needs fresh impetous in career, contract running down at Villa

Midfielder: Keizukhe Honda
The Japanese Matt Le Tissier! Something different. Game changer. Young. Mass marketing appeal

Defender: Gary Cahill
Young english talent. Bolton need to sell

The thing that links these players and increases the chances of them signing for LFC?

None of them are playing in the Champions League or have major aspirations with their clubs for the second half of this season!

No point in speculating how much they will cost, but we will obviously need to recoup from sales as well. Agger, Johnson, Pachecho, Poulsen, Jovanovic head the queue.

All part of a plan which includes having a manager in place who will play youth and attacking football by January. Trust NESV. IT WILL HAPPEN!

I personally think Roy Hodgson is taking the same route that Rafa took towards the end of his management. He knows the end is near and has decided to stitch us up big time. Only difference being, Rafa did actually care when he came, Roy Hodgson doesn't. He still sees the job as second choice to his dream England job. Go now Roy for gods sake.

Question for any of the editors that will get this. Right now, who is liverpool's best buy this summer? Is it Raul Meireles, Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Paul Konchesky, Jonjo Shelvey, or Christian Poulsen (yeah, right!)? {ed's note - that is a tough question, none have really performed well as of yet. I think it has to be Shelvey for pure potential though, and I like the fact he looks like that American actor who was in the original Hills Have Eyes and in Weird Science too.}

Ed, how do you make money from this website? do you sell ad-space, or does it cost to subscribe or something? {ed's note - well there is a subscriber section, I was hoping we would get enough subscribers to pay for some articles off ex-players to go on the site, but you need to have something to tempt people to subscribe in the first place so I am trying to save the money the site does take towards paying for an article to go on the subscriber site. Hopefully that will tempt more people to join and that will pay for more articles. Even without agent's fees (my aunt has an agency which represents a number of ex-players) you are still looking at a few hundred quid per article. The ad-space on the site is up for sale but at the moment it is just Google Adsense up there, which is a pain because they keep running things like adverts for the S*n and it pays peanuts.}
